This park is gorgeous. In the summer they have some of the nicest flower filled planters. In the fall they change them to pretty winter theme. They also have a wood firepit in the colder months. We drive from Somerset to walk there because the pathways are so well manicured in the winter months. This is a huge bonus for my Dad, who uses a walker. This year has been especially active with bird sightings. The swans were still here in December. I have seen more types of birds here than anywhere else in the city.
Carburn is the best park in Calgary. It’s a relaxing walk providing a mix of natural and city recreation opportunities.
There are almost always deer present and the area looks gorgeous no matter the time of year. It’s right along the river, while also providing its own lake. There’s also a smaller water loop for skating or kayak practice depending on the season.
It features restrooms, a bee area and natural paths. No complaints, it’s a great space. Love visiting the area.
Very nice trail that wraps around a pond. The reflections of the trees are beautiful. Not too busy. The path is paved. The day I went was foggy and it was extra special. Parking lot is a bit small, but you can also park on the street nearby. There are a lot of dogs at this park. Deerfoot Trail is across from the park and can be noisy some days.
Nice paved walking trail around the lake/pond. There are also some small, unpaved trails that go through the trees where we saw some deer. There's also a very old tree near the river. Picnic tables are available at some spots.
Beautiful scenery, relaxed atmosphere. I rented a stand up paddle board and spent an hour on the water. You could also rent kayaks, canoes and tubes. It is not a place to swim but was great for playing on the board.
My neighborhood park, love it, lots of people also think so by the numbers that attend it. No as large as others but bigger and with access to the Bow River.
Lovely cycle route on Bow River Pathway from downtown, several crafts on the water, groups on benches and at picnic site, beautiful mature trees for shade.
We're never disappointed coming here. Wildlife abounds, trails for days, and our little one loves to explore. Deer, beaver, great horned owls, chickadees up close.wildlife abounds. We love this park!
If you're looking for some nature relaxation, this is a perfect place located inside the city. We loved paddleboarding here, safer for younger children. You can see lots of deer and ducks. I just don't like the parking lot, lot's of people coming and there's no enough parking spot.
It's okay. Small parking lot with only 1 disabled spot. Scattered picnic tables and lots of benches. The pond see's small personal water craft and the park has public washrooms. Bring your own BBQ.
Nice, relaxing, not overcrowded. Easy walking trails and pleasant views. A great, spacious dogs park is just across the bridge. Your furry friend will like it too.
Really nice park and scenery. The bike trails are connected so you can enjoy your bike ride from one park to another. There are also plenty of parking spots as well.
Really nice walking treasure so close to Calgary downtown. Took a long and seemingly endless bike trek. Also the walking trails were covered with many trees. Shade was great and the kids loved playing near the water
This park is a little paradise along Bow River in SE across from Sue Higgins park. I usually access it via Sue Higgins and cross the bridge to walk along the paved pathway. There are plenty of non paved paths along the river. I have almost always spotted deer in the park, but deeper into the woods. Just follow the non paved paths along the River and you can finds some beautiful spots to sit, relax and enjoy the flow of the River.
Wow what a beautiful place. You can paddle board, canoe, kayak etc. No swinming, dogs allowed on leash, not sure if you can BBQ or not. Wasnt overly crowded either.
Great park for walking, running, biking, paddle boarding and canoeing. It has beautiful gardens and is managed privately so it has remained open when city parks are closed.
I just love riding my bicycle on the trails through this area. I wouldn't recommend cycling there on the weekend however, too much foot traffic and people stopping to chat in the middle of the trail instead of moving off to the side to have their little visits. I'm all for socializing, but it has to be done beside the path, not on it.
Beautiful park bordering a nature reserve. Picnic spaces near the pond, accessible public washrooms, shared walking/bike paths (keep your little ones close on the shared paths), paddle board rentals, forest paths, and skating in the winter.
As a native Calgarian, I’m sad to say I’d never been to this park before, let alone heard of it. So glad a friend invited me here. It’s beautiful and a great place to escape to while not leaving the city.
Great natural skating rink with log fire and toilets near by. Taking hot drinks and snacks is a good idea. There are deer, owls and other wild animals close bye. A great place
Stunning reflections off water. Serenity. Ducks, Beavers. Path around ponds and into bush trail which goes to river or bridge south, north paths. Excellent walk with seasonal washrooms. Two ponds with paths around ponds. Toy boats welcome here. Warm and was used as swimming with dock. NotNow!
A beautiful place to walk. There is a pathway that heads south to Sue Higgins off leash and further to Fish Creek Park if you would.like a.little more exercise.
Lovely park in SE Calgary that is relatively unknown. Lots of paved and unpaved trails and the washrooms are open year round. Good spot for seeing both animals and birds.
Great park to visit with family or friends. It's a nice easy walk around 2 ponds and connects to the bike/walking path system. There are some picnic benches if you want to sit down and eat. There are restrooms as well.
In the summer you can bring a canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board and go on either of the ponds. It's also a great place to bird watch / nature watch with owls, woodpeckers, deer and beavers that are all easily seen.
In the winter they transform one of the ponds to an ice rink. It's a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with kids and friends.
Very nice park. Close to River. Some paths are pretty treacherous, so be careful. Tons of mosquitoes so take bug spray. Lots of park patrons present, so if you're bringing a dog that isn't socialized, this isn't a good fit. But the scenery is good and facilities are decent.
Great place for kids, but a little boring for adults. Many of exhibits were broken or out of order. Same displays as years ago when they first opened. Would be nice to see something new there.
Quiet park where you can go biking, running or walking along pathways. Great scenery right by the river. There's a pond where people go kayaking or stand up paddling too
