This hotel rocks. The room we stayed in was beautiful & clean.
They have vlts on the main floor.
The staff is very welcoming & the location is surrounded by everything; grocery, fast food, banks, pet store, thrift store, bars, gas stations.
The price point is a little on the higher end, but the room was gorgeous, the bed was clean and soft, plus the location and the food there is awesome.it's totally worth it.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

Attended the Sunday brunch buffet at Carriage House Hotel on Macleod at approximately 10h45-11h00 on 9/24/23. I went to get food and was a bit surprised when an older gentleman who seemed to know the staff was eating from a take out box while he scoped out the food in the buffet trays. Sort of gross, definitely unsanitary, but I was willing to look the other way - until the gentleman went up to a buffet tray and dug some food out with his hands. I was dumbfounded. I brought it to the kitchen staff's attention immediately and they apologetically explained that the gentleman is "one of the owners. " I unapologetically declared that I don't care who he is, it isn't appropriate. While I had notified staff, I did not see them take away the tray. I tried to eat more but my appetite was ruined. I complained to the management and they appeared to take the matter seriously, comped the meal, and said they would address it. I will say that I have been going to this buffet regularly for years and this is the first time I've seen an incident like this, but am also disturbed that an alleged owner of the establishment would do something so mind-bogglingly stupid, especially in the immediately wake of the e.coli outbreak in Calgary daycares caused by lack of compliance with regulations around food safety.

Robbie, if you truly are an owner it is clear you are NOT the brains behind the operation. I won't be back.

Our first time here. Everything was lovely from checking in to the room we stayed at.
Even the included breakfast was not.

The hot tub area was disgusting. All the tiles were cracked around the tub so when your sitting in it you see all the scum etc.the parking lot was ALWAYS full when we returned at 8 pm. Guests of the hotel have to park in the overflow. There should be “hotel guest parking only”. They pay for the hotel while other guest do not. Very frustrating. This happened both nights of our 2 night stay.

The bathrooms are extremely small. I could sit on the toilet and hit my knees on the vanity. Getting out of the shower I had to go sideways so I wouldn’t hit anything.

The buffet breakfast was disappointing - arrived around 9: 30. No eggs, no fruit, no pastries. Had hash browns and bacon which were cold. We refused to use our vouchers the next morning.

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel and would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Great hotel that I had never heard of! FANTASTIC outdoor pool! We had the best time. You had to pay $5 for a microwave, which was the only thing I did not agree with.i needed a microwave to set my daughter's mouth guard for hockey camp, and 45 seconds cost me $5 lol. Not a huge gripe, things could be worse. One elevator was down for maintenance, which they emailed us about before hand, so they do well with communication! Restaurant downstairs had a great breakfast, service was fabulous and I could add a tip onto my room charge. Great bakery as well with fresh pastries, muffins and bread. VERY easy to get to. I will definitely stay again in the summer months for the pool and Restaurant alone.

We had our wedding catered. It was the best food that I've had in a very long time. Everyone from the front to the back end of that hotel gave 100%. We rented rooms, we had outside catered food then Brunch on Sunday morning. Wow, wow, wow

Attended an event at the Carriage House. The room and service was top class. The buffet meal was 9 out of 10 with a great selection.

I really enjoyed my stay. The lobby and the rooms look so nice.
Cindy and Linda at front desk were lovely. I had a fun chat with both of them. I also got to chat to Briony at Peanuts, she was really nice.
All the staff were nice. Bi served me at breakfast and she did a great job.

The bed was super comfy and my room was nice and clean.

EVERYTHING is awesome. The room was clean, the mattress amazing, sheets clean (don't take that for granted) and they don't smell or feel like bleach. Staff are trained and nice. Breakfast buffet very nice. Several restaurants, pub, lounge. Close parking to front doors. Nice lobby.
ALL GOOD.

We had reservations for four for Thanks Giving dinner at 6: 45 Mon, Oct. 11 and we all arrived on time got seated to our table ordered drinks and then our meals. Enjoyed the food and dessert then payed for the meals and we're very satisfied with the whole night.

Was in a recently renovated room that was nice. Rooms are quite small but we'll appointed. Rooms and common areas were clean.

Unfortunately, due to an event in their conference centre, on our second night we had over five hours of bass beats vibrating our entire room until the wee hours of the morning. Was provided a $40 discount when mentioned at checkout but would rather their banquet contacts set reasonable decibel limits and enforce them rather than keeping half your hotel guests awake all night.

The rooms on the upper floors are newly renovated and the beds are really comfortable. The check in process is easy. We love the outdoor pool, it feels like a destination vacation. We were given a bottle of wine for our anniversary, this was unexpected and greatly appreciated. We had a few issues with our room keys.they seem to be a one time use only. Literally every time we left the room our key wouldn't work when we returned so many trips to the front desk to get a new key.and I requested a second house coat for our room 5 times.and never did get it. There was only one in our room. Very disappointing. I gave up asking after 5th time? No parking was available either.we had to park across the street.but overall this is a nice place to stay while visiting Calgary.

Excellent and friendly service, shout out to the front desk ladies and the breakfast ladies/servers too! Always willing to go the extra mile and so friendly. One of the comfiest beds and pillows we've slept in both King and Double/Queen Beds. We've even tried downtown Hilton and Sheraton etc, even their beds and bedding wasn't up to standard for what you pay. Prices are very competitive. Overall, you'll feel like you're staying at a 4 star hotel instead of a 3 star hotel and great value!

Only constructive feedback is - upgrade those shower heads to something better with better flow. Make sure the body wash dispensers are well filled to generate enough pressure when guests squeezes it, if not it falls out.

Sunday brunch. Great variety, C19 precautions in place and fantastic service. What more could you ask for.

Staff was friendly/fast. The rooms are not 'fully renovated' - The lamp didn't work, the thermostat is like 50 years old and the phone is pretty old school, however nothing deal breaking. We had a nice view and the breakfast was great (not a lame toast/fruit only bar like some places, but had fresh cooked meat, eggs, waffles etc.). A few things in the room were kind of dirty including the coffee maker and some of the glasses but otherwise was well maintained. Would stay here again:)

The dining room look was kind of dated. The buffet was ok but a lot of the choices were kind of bland. The staff was great.

Nice rooms that seemed really clean, the hotel itself could probably do with a little updating as it does look slightly dated. Would probably not recommend the complimentary breakfast, as it was somewhat poorly cooked, but there is an A&W right across the street.

We attended a wedding reception here and the venue was very nice. The banquet hall was fantastic. The food that was serviced which was Indian as well as Italian were both on point.

Negative review for this dump. Our children have animal allergy’s and we were stuck in a pet friendly room. We booked 3 weeks in advance to have a NOT pet friendly room and got stuck in one anyways. No extra rooms. No extra clean blankets. We moved to three rooms, promised it would have a pull out bed for us and it didn’t. Hotel staff did not know what was in each room or what beds were in what room. DO NOT let the nice pool fool you. Your children will be stuck in a pet friendly room without knowing. ALL general rooms are pet friendly. If you have allergy’s DO NOT stay in this hotel.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice beds. Bathroom was tiny but, huge bathtub.
Had a room beside elevator was noisy. But, otherwise quiet. Parking was ok.

The hotel is super nice. We loved the pool the rooms are comfy and the breakfast is wooow. But what really makes our experience really unforgettable are the employees Especially KERRI. Thank you very much Kerri your special service every morning is really remarkable. Looking forward to come again to this hotel. Keep it up.

Very friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. We rented the king suite with Jacuzzi tub. The tub is a little small for 2 people to sit comfortably but was very nice and relaxing. The breakfast was good (bacon or sausage, eggs and hashborwns with toast and coffee), would have been better if they had some gluten free or vegan options available. All in all worth the money. Nice stay.

The food was great however I overheard managers on the second floor i was staying on being extremely rude to a house keeper. If staff is treated this poorly i will not be returning

I posted a year ago about a negative experience I had in trying to work with the Carriage House Inn. Well, my chosen wedding venue had closed 100 days before the wedding so we had to go back to the drawing board and I decided to try Carriage House again since I was in between a rock and a hard place.

I’m really glad I did. I was really unsure going into the meeting but Nikki was wonderful to deal with and she did a great job showing us the options available and listening to our needs. I really like how she listened to our vision and was willing to suggest things we hadn’t considered, and those suggestions were great and well suited.

We did not book with Carriage House, but based on my experience dealing with Nikki I would highly recommend anyone to explore Carriage House as an option. Fast responses to our questions and was great to deal with. Thank you for your time, Nikki.

Great room, eco friendly personal cleaning supplies. Nice pool. Friendly counter staff. Weak willed security staff, we had a booking that was not respected by other patrons and the security staff would not intervene

Service was a little slow but attentive, of little concern when compared to the quality and taste of the food. I consider this to be one of the most bangs for the buck in town.

Even tho we live in Calgary we love doing little staycations every once in a while and the carriage house is definitely one that’s on the top of our list.
They have a heated out door pool, a gym, and sauna. And the front desk staff are always really nice and very accommodating! Best of all is unlike other hotels check out is at noon.
The only downsides are that Housekeeping likes to knock on the door hours before you have to check out, so if you’re like me and stay in hotels so you can sleep in a bit then make sure you tell the front desk, or you will be woken up.
Also Not all the rooms are nice sometimes you get a room with 2 double beds and a very small TV. However if you’re lucky enough to get an updated king room you won’t be disappointed.

Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Excellent food! Beautiful outdoor heated pool, fully equipped gym and hot tub. Great location close to malls and downtown. Affordable vacay or staycation.

Great location, walking distance to several grocery stores, banks, restaurants, pubs & Heritage c-train station. Minutes away from 2 shopping malls. If you like staying in, the Van Bavel suite offers a beautiful downtown city view, located on the top (10th floor) along with some other suites on this floor that have a separate sitting room, deep jacuzzi tub with jets, a fridge & microwave area, along with a eating area, coffee table & pull out sofa bed & extra TV. I enjoyed this suite for 4 days on my mini vacation, home away from home. I also did some work on my computer for our business here & can add that if you are visiting for business, there is a good sized desk with a pull out area for your computer, a comfortable office chair, & a modern desk lamp, with extra plug in areas. The separate bedroom area has a comfortable, clean & cozy king size bed & a 2nd TV, with a variety of channel choices. This is also be a great room for families with children offering some separation between the kids & adults, an adjoining room is also an option. Downstairs they offer several food choices. The carriage house restaurant is a iconic part of Calgary’s history, & boasts some beautiful breakfast choice items that are included with your stay. I recommend the breakfast croissant (freshly baked in house). My friend Terryl & I celebrated our birthday’s here & enjoyed the food at Peanuts pub, & the clean unique well maintained swimming pool, hot tub & steam room. There is also a great exercise area with big windows overlooking the pool area. The garlic shrimp, yam fries & beef dip at the other pub, Dudley’s are delicious as well. Their guest parking lot is closely monitored by security & I knew my vehicle was safe & secure. The front desk supervisor, Angela is so welcoming, attentive & friendly. The general manager, Lino was also kind, attentive & respectful of a request I asked for my son who is special needs. I really appreciated that extra attention towards guests requests & it meant a lot to me. The cleaning staff, maintenance workers & pool staff always were friendly & I noticed they were attentive & kept up with the mask regulations, cleaning protocols & general overall health requirements for Covid restrictions, I felt as if they we’re going above & beyond my expectations, & helped me with any questions or concerns I may have had. I used to visit this hotel for Sunday brunch as a kid but I have never stayed here overnight until my recent visit March 9th to March 12th & I am so glad I did. I will be returning as I am very pleased with my stay.

Everything was good, clean, friendly service. But pick up breakfast was cold, and cannot choose how want eggs done. Flavor was good but gold. Go to restaurant. Very helpful and accommodating

Super comfy beds, clean rooms. Nice restaurants downstairs again good staff, nice menu. Didn’t stay in the VLT lounge as the machines were closed due to COVID. Peanuts Pub attached quietly at the back is a chill hangout with excellent beef ribs that fall off the bone and lip smacking bbq sauce. Wings are good beer is cold. Only disappointment was leaving an article behind and room services didn’t seem to find it.

My family stayed here when they were in town and loved it. Modern interior, and very clean, great customer service, great pool, and excellent breakfast! This is their go-to hotel when visiting Calgary.

My favorite hotel in the area. By far the best bang for your buck, with a nice clean modern interior.
Pros: Clean, modernized, year round pool (even open during covid), tons of amenities near by, great price.
Cons: Older building so the walls are quite thin.

Expected better. Breakfast menu very small. No changes allowed. Eggs are scrambled or scrambled haha. Food tasted fresh though. Toast ok. Expected homemade as they had a bakery so a bit disappointing. Bacon tough. Wait staff ok. Expected homemade jams. Only strawberry. Prob wont return.

One of the best hotels in Calgary hands down. I visit periodically with the Mayor of Leduc, Tyler P, to meet up with friends and light up the town from time to time! Carriage House staff are very friendly and accommodating.rooms are really nice and the beds are comfortable! Food is great as well. Pool, hottub and gym, can't go wrong! Will be back soon!

Attended a very small wedding (20 ppl) The staff was very up to date on covid protocols and made all of the guests feel special. They were very respectful with social distancing even with a sit down full service meal. Our food choices were chicken with parmesan risotto or filet mignon with seasonal veggies; two stracci, one with veal tomato sauce and one with ricotta spinach with Alfredo sauce; butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and sage; and for dessert three little cheese cakes of different flavors. I have to say the meal was amazing! Everything was hot when served. The only complaint, I ate too much! I attended a wedding shower here last year and again everything was top notch even with 160 guests pre-covid.

It was okay. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The meeting space was nice too but the food has definitely gone downhill. The breakfast was quite bland and tasteless. We were staying 4 nights and breakfast was included but we only tried twice and gave up. 2 of us, 4 breakfasts, 4 different selections. No thanks. I would have given an extra star if not for the food.

Very nice! I had the room with the Jacuzzi tub and the french doors to close off the bedroom. Room Service is GREAT and the prices are reasonable. I wasn't too sure what was going on with the the TV but it had very few channels.

Such an amazing place to stay.outside heated pool in the winter is a plus! Great customer service. I will deffinatly be back and most deffinatly recommend

Went to a Christmas party here with a prime rib buffet! It was so delicious! They clearly marked the items that were gluten free which I appreciated so much as a celiac. The Ceasar salad without croutons was amazing! And I didn't feel sick. They even had dessert options for me.

Was at the Carriage House Inn for their brunch. Which was delicious unfortunately we were seated away from the main dining area but the service and atmosphere were fantastic.

Attended their NYE masquerade, tickets were pricey for what you got, food was mediocre, anything 'extra' (face painting, photos, drinks) not only cost money but were more expensive than I'd have expected, and service was slow, granted they had a lot going on that evening, but it took over an hour and a half just to get a refill of water. The DJ was excellent though and I still had a great night.

A restaurant has a really good food I think it probably one of the best one brunches in the city the rooms are nice and the people who works there nice and enthusiastic

Ive been here several times for a social holiday event. It was very nice inside, and the food was pretty decent I thought.

This was so surprising we usually stay at hotels like the Hyatt four seasons and Fairmont, I got a room there 3 nights staffer wonderful customer service was wonderful the brunch was amazing and the price is unbeatable.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, but I have been here twice for work functions. The food is really good, and the desserts are to die for. Everything is clean, and they have a very elegant atmosphere. The ballroom is especially regal. The staff are so helpful and very friendly. If you are considering having an event here, I would highly recommend it.

Room was renovated and was very comfortable. Perks of Expedia vip were nice, and full buffet breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.

I am in town for work and decided to stay here due to the hot breakfast buffet included in the price according to the website. However, when arrived here, was made aware that breakfast want actually included in my reservation due to not prepaying. That was a big disappointment. The newly renovated premium king rooms are nice with the deep soaker tub. Starbucks keurig coffee is a nice touch. The lounge has a great menu, and great food.

I attended a professional event at the Carriage House Inn. Breakfast was great, the room was very functional with good sound and appropriate set up.

The main dining room at the Carriage House has been a longtime family favourite location for their amazing holiday meals, but this last trip was was not holiday-related - - This time, I was attending a wedding, which was held in the Windsor Ballroom - - I got to see the function/event side of things for the first time and was very impressed by the size of the room, the prompt and friendly service of the staff, and -though I didn't partake myself- I heard that the meal (-and desserts-) were just amazing (- okay, I had a little wedding cake.yum.) - - I didn't stay at the hotel, but from the booking future events perspective, I would certainly not hesitate to use the same room for various special events in the future.

I'm personally very disappointed with the restaurant. The service was awful, the food was disappointing and bland for the price. I had to add my step moms spinach dip to my pasta to improve the flavor. The restaurant itself was DEAD, seriously there were maybe three tables and they had about 5 servers. There were barely any alternative options for meat and no one offered my sister a high chair for her child. We didn't get the children's menu until after we had looked at the menu for about 20 minutes AND not even after my sister had asked about child friendly options.
It took the server quite a while to bring our bill's and when he did, he didn't even bring it to our table, he plopped them on the table next to ours without a word and left. We had to sort through them ourselves.
The server was kind of rude as well and he seemed to be disorganized and stressed out.
I will not be coming back.

Attended a wedding here, food and service are very good. The banquet hall and attached common spaces are very well thought out. Easily accessible location with ample parking.

Great and friendly staff. I was a groomsmen for awedding there and the staff was very friendly and helpful with the rehersal and wedding day. Even the owner stopped by to say hi.

The room they advertise online versus the room you actually get are completely different the ones online look like a decent hotel the ones you actually get our run down shabby cheap looking motel rooms also only one elevator was working which made it a nightmare to get down and up. Staff was friendly I had no problems with any of the staff or management they seemed very kind but if I'm paying $300 for two nights I would like at least a room that looks like the pictures and not a room that looks like a motel 8
