Attended Rocky Mountain Nationals last weekend. While the event was amazing as always I was quite disappointed in the effort put into the VIP tent. We didn’t expect to have high end service but it would have been nice to have warm food. While they did supply a satisfactory variety of items everything was cold. Placed in heating trays with no heat. I have attended this event in the VIP tent in years past and they certainly could done better.
Pour un européen, néophyte en la matière, j'ai apprécié ma journée. C'est cool de voir ça de nos propres yeux plutôt que derrière un écran. Et là, on vit en live tout ce qui peut se produire. Je reviendrai désormais je connais le chemin.
$25 to watch 6 races. Too expensive. Concession service was terrible. Went to order french fries and was told they had to many orders and had none left. 1 hour later i see people ordering french fries. No hot chocalate. Beer is more expensive than commonwealth stadium. Overall very disappointing place to go on datenight with the girlfriend. Was looking forward to this all week. Thank you so much castrol!
First of all I was in shock after seeing the prices for food: hamburger, fries, fountain pop=$14.00 +GST 2nd When I pre purchased my tickets online to the pit party & the main event I was to get a a free meal (hamburger, fries, pop) well the surprise was on me no free meal. I asked at the ticket booth to show my ticket at the concession stand to which I did they told me no.
We had such a great time! The staff were organized and friendly. When my son and I arrived, one staff member took our photo, with my phone, in front of one of the monster trucks! There were a few drunks making noise and swearing in the stands and they were on them right away. My only complaint would be a lack of organization when it comes to lines ups for food/drink/etc.
We attended the drive in country music concert held there on Sunday July 18th, 2021.
Great concept, although there are some bugs to work out;
-Serve the alcoholic beverages in a separate line so the lineups are not so long.
- Post on the program, the radio station that is broadcasting the sound of the concert (we missed a posting on the giant screen & proceeded to look all over the websites involved with the concert & there was nothing!)
-The VIP parking should have been in rows of trucks on the outside edges (with people in cabs in front & people in truck beds at the back) and smaller cars in the middle but taking care not to park anyone behind the sound tent which obstructs the view of the stage.
- There should have been a giant screen on both sides of the stage as well.
-I did not see one blue bin for collecting all the empty beer cans etc. Shame!
- Getting to the sound system:
For some reason eveybodies radio broadcasts of the sound coming from the stage was delayed; and when I say that, I don't mean in unison either. The people beside us were just off, the people on the other side were a little bit more delayed than that, we were at the front of the stage and didn't need to broadcast it as we are there in real time, so why these people needed to be blasting their off timing sound to the rest of us was very annoying to say the least. We tried closing the windows and listening to the broadcast, but then it got too hot & stifled in the vehicle with 4 people.
So, if anyone has any fixes for such a problem: (maybe put on the show in the cold so more people stay in their vehicles with the windows up?) I'm just brainstorming here.
Other than that, we got there early and beat the lines for entry & the food & drink as well. We enjoyed the concert the best we could despite the screwed up sound, and unless they have a fix for the sound problem, we probably won't attend another event like this in future.
Haven't been back here in years, but I'm glad I made it out for hot august night 2021. For an event like this to go off, post pandemic, it turned out pretty good. Not nearly as many cars as they would normally have, but nonetheless was a great show. Keep up the good work folks!
Great place to go and spend a Friday evening watching the street legal races or weekend with the special events going on. Just an overall fun way to get in some time with the family.
Amazing experience filled with all kinds of lights. A great place for kids to have in holiday season. We were glad to have a dash pass which helped us skip a huge line up almost of an hour.
I visited during the Magic of Lights in December. I am reviewing based off of this event. I am sure other events take place here. I loved the lights and so did the younger people with me. There's a light tunnel towards the end of the display and that was the highlight for us. I would like to mention that the caveat on the website about the wait time is accurate (at least from my experience on a Monday night). You can also get the dash pass if you are able.
We attended the Christmas light display. The people were friendly, the way they are dealing with covid guidelines was outstanding. The displays were fantastic!
Great display of Christmas lights. The track has themed areas. Eg. The 12 days of Christmas as you slowly drive around the track. Loved the addition of the 'get out and walk' area this year. Kettle corn and hot chocolate were available for purchase. Fabulous experience
Went there for the Magic of Lights, we took a bus through. It was a weeknight and there was no line. The lights were nice, they had a few different themes going on throughout the drive. It only took about 15 minutes to drive through the entire thing. Personally it was nice, but once is enough for me
Always have a BLAST here! Took my friend for her birthday, and we had a great time watching the amateur night. Fast, loud cars and trucks! The manager of Ginga Ninja was also really nice, and gave us some free sticker merch!
I recommend Castrol Raceway, Leduc County, Alberta - Canada A fun family day well spent, All stars. Photography is as much about the process of seeing as the print you produce. The love of photography is the love of life. Learn how the principles of photography can teach you about seeing your life in a different light. Outstanding.
Hello people well to tell you the truth all the peaple there are a amazing just amazing the lady who took my entrance money was the nicest beautiful friendly ladie in a long time. You can walk around and talk to the rasers no problem at all all very friendly it's like the old days oh did I say you can walk around with a beverage oh yes it true just like beautiful Florida USA but Edmonton just a great time just try it. Regards Vinny
I have been to many events here, elbeit not for a few years now. Labor day Long weekend 200 MPH event was priced decently ($20/pp) and the place was dead. Racing was good. I am glad I took my kids on this weekend rather than a big event like Hot August Nights or RMN. I am a little wierded out by how far they've let the maintenance go and it seems that the meat and potatoes (bracket cars) have diminished immensly, maybe it was just the time of the year, weather or something.
Great place for some highlight high octane family fun. Loses a star for the fiasco that is the entry and exit system. Midway is fun and a little park in the entryway to burn some lil tyke energy at intermission.
Went there for the monster truck Show. All I can say is that the staff there were so helpful and amazing to deal with. We lost our little ones ear muffs under the bleachers and the Castrol guys went to get them. Amazing staff! And the monster trucks were awesome!
Seating is crowded and to exit in the reserve seating is atrocious the smoke pits are under the bleachers so if you can stand having your kids having second hand smoke? After reading all the reviews it seems this place doesn't care what the fans say washrooms still not fit for pigs and food is disgusting if not for paying 40$ I would have left
If you live your life one quarter-mile at a time, this place is for you. In all seriousness though the facilities here are great and Castrol Raceway has been a great contributor to keeping motorsports alive in our area. Special thanks to Track Junkies for running spectacular events throughout the summer and to the NASCC for their performance driving schools and events. Castrol Raceway is a great place to experience motorsports amongst motorsports enthusiasts.
Extreme cup had a good car count with lots of quality cars across all classes. Someone thought wrapping the flag stand in a sponsor banner was a good idea. This action resulted with a completely obstructed view of the 4th corner for the fans in my area. After a rework of the track it was race ready shortly after 9pm. When the sprint cars finished there feature it was already 10: 30. My kids were tired and could not take anymore and we left without seeing the last race. We were not alone. This facility continues to be poor value for such a great sport. Family entertainment shouldn't be finishing up around or after 11pm.
