CDI College - Edmonton West

My experience was good. I was booked in for a virtual meet with Mahdi Motawe (one of their representative) who was knowledgeable and guided me perfectly as what was required.highly recommended!

My first instructor in this college was Kathy Norton. She is an amazing instructor who cares deeply about her students. Her class was very conversational which I enjoyed a lot. On top of that she is very understanding.

Mahdi Motawe has been an absolute blessing to have helping me along the way to obtaining my education! He truly cares about those he helps and makes sure to check in and not let you forget he’s always around if you need help with anything!

I’ve been having troubles finding a college that really fits best for me until I had seen some ads and good reviews and decided to start looking into Early childhood and development. I had decided that to take the opportunity and Mahdi Motawe has been such a great help! I’ve honestly never had this much help and support but I am beyond thankful!

I wish to appreciate all the CDI administrative staff. And a special thanks to Michael Ferrer the best instructor I have ever met.he is so respectful, soft spoken and has mastering of the courses being taught. Thank you Michael for being a wonderful instructor to me and my classmates.

I recently finished the Student Success Strategies course taught by Kathy Norton. I found the course to be very informative and interesting. I learned a great deal about investing and money management. Kathy was very informative, patient, and friendly. I really enjoyed being in her class.

I have already addressed my concerns and your staff did NOT do anything to resolve the matter and which is why human rights had to get involved. Shame on you CDI College to allow your staff to be so negligent and cause further negative impacts to my health
Who else is this happening to? The pitiful reply to my initial review goes to show how fake your institution is.

Beware! I had to file TWO Human Rights complaints against this college due to failure to accommodate medical. I am almost done my Graphic Design program with honors but had to go on a medical leave due to the campus director, Jessica Simnovec, and instructor Sydney Kozdrowski, failing to do their job right and accommodate my medical circumstances.

Also, Sydney Kozdrowaki did not mark some of my assignments and tried to hinder another course mark. She is very insecure and should NOT be an educational instructor.

The graphic design room feels like a dungeon and the tuition is far over priced at $20,000.00 for ten months. To put that into prospective I paid $5000 for one year of Psychology.

Non of the instructors have teaching degrees. They couldnt obtain employment in their fields so they became "instructors" at this jail. I mean facility.

Lastly, Cheri Stewart is the claimed mental health professional on campus, however she will make you chase courses that were already completed and ignore emails making your mental health worse. Not to mention she was advised on my medical ailments and did absolutely nothing to support me medically like she should have.

My experience here has been absolutley awful! Please, I'm warning you all, DO NOT attend this money hungry institution who clearly does NOT care about their students wellbeing! I know they sure don't deserve my name and honors on a piece of paper with their name on it.

They may look good from the surface but this college is an absolute joke!

I give negative 100000 star rating.

Shame on you disgustingly ran, money hungry institution who makes students unbearably unwell. Shame on you.

Choose a better institution folks! Please!

If you are willing to pay an outrageous intuition for a horrible experience go here. If you are dumb and can handle staff treating you poorly, go here. If you are smart, intelligent and respectful, pick a better institution with more appropriate tuition rates with professional educated staff who will treat you better. CDI College just wants to push you through an education you won't get a job in afterwards and collect your money paid for their outrageous tuition costs and the staff are just employed people who couldnt find a job in their field, not real intructors! Stay away from cdi college! Find a more reputable institution! Fake, fake, fake!

I feel so fortunate that I had found this great college. I had their primary programs there, which greatly fostered independence, confidence and intellectual development in them. Their staffs and all the teachers are kind, sincere people that I could trust for educating myself with CDI. I highly recommend this College.:)

My first-week course was so good! I was not expecting to start off with a course that talked about time/stress management, core beliefs and more, OR a full module plan that taught us about finances! Incredible. This course and the teacher went above and beyond.

I just finished my first week of the program & Kathy was kind, understanding & full of knowledge. She set stone to the whole program with everything she shared with the class. She knows what to say & teach to guide us students into the right path to figure out our future. I’m very grateful for being able to be her student.

Update: I have been a student for over two months now and the experience has been nothing but pleasant. Michael Ferrer is an instructor filled with knowledge and compassion. He is very accommodating and caring. I believe the program is going to really helpful to me in the future and I recommend it to anyone.

I have no regret enrolling CDI college because I met amazing staff especially to my instructors, I’m so thankful to Kathy Norton who motivate me to move on to the next level of my course and I am so great full that I met my second instructor Michael Ferrer who is very helpful, approachable, smart and down to earth person, I really appreciate his teaching techniques. I’ve learned a lot from him, he explain the topic clearly for us to understand easily and carefully, he is not the teacher just to teach his student but he is a teacher to prepare his students in the road ahead. I just joined the CDI collage to get closer to my goals and update my knowledge. My first course was with Kathy Norton. Her class was an amazing start.honestly I was nervous to start studying again specially because this time it was virtual.
But all my fear went away when she started teaching.she cared about each individual and included everyone. The best part was seeing her big smile every morning.
Topics were interesting; I learned a lot about time managing, goal setting, finance planning and etc. Being in her class was such an honor.

Studied Addiction and Community Services and received so much from this program. The course was so informative and my instructor so knowledgeable, helpful and wants to see you succeed. Cannot say enough about this program and highly recommend this to anyone wanting to enter the field!

I entered this course with the hopes of becoming a better version of myself, the modules and assignments throughout the course have provided me with the tools I needed to accomplish a better me and the ability to perhaps help others in this uncertain world. I have been attending CDI College since November 2021, enrolled in the Addictions and Social Work program. After having attended Grant Macewan and the University of Alberta (which are both great educational institutions), but smaller class sizes CDI offer gives students the opportunity for guidance. My professor Kelly Johnson is thorough, very oriented in setting up students for success. Some of the content can be deep and not always simple.
Kelly is great at educating the importance of the content but creating a comfortable and safe environment to create ease in asking some more difficult questions and invites everyone to feel comfortable in sharing. Other members of the faculty are also prompt in responding to any inquiries. The program content is also very thorough, and CDI also offers and provides many resources to further your success. It has been a difficult couple of years with the transitions from in person classes to online education, I think everyone understands it may not be ideal, but in my program, although online, does provide student to student connection. I have nothing but excellent things to say about CDI College and would recommend it to anyone looking to further their education.

I came into CDI West feeling nervous and anxious about inquiring about some of their program. Because of the some negative thing you hear from colleges. In contrast, I came out of it feeling absolutely sure and satisfied with the course that I picked with their help. They gave me a chance to talk to the instructor, so that I would have an idea how the program works. The instructor instantly made me feel comfortable and at ease because of his down to earth personality. He constantly reassured me that his number one priority is to ensure that I walked away with a decision that I was content with and sure of after informing me of all my options. This was consistently seen in his patience with me as I was constantly asking questions of basic and simple concepts I did not understand as it was my first time going back to school after almost 10 years. He further demonstrated this by answering my questions very thoroughly with honestly and ensured that I understood before moving on.

I was impressed by not only the excellent customer service that I experienced from the staff but also their willingness to help others to succeed! Choose CDI COLLEGE WEST to help you in your pursue your dream career.

Salman Rathor genuinely cares about his students and went above and beyond for me. From when I first talk to him about the course and currently helping me with my studies. Salman helps and motivate his students to not give up just because you are having difficult time to study. He even follow up to check-in on how I was doing with the course that I am doing. He even went as far as giving me some extra time to finish some of my course.

I would also like to say that Jessica Simnovec is an honest person and genuinely puts her students best interest first. She concentrate to what you need to be successful. Listen to what she has to say first as she has the experience and knowledge in the program that works best for you. Most importantly she sincerely cares about her students.

And thank you to my first instructor Magda for helping me understand MS better and she also help me with my resume. I've been a student for one term and have nothing but positive things to say about CDI. I was referred by a previous student that took a program there. If you aren't willing to put the time in and be serious about the program your taking, you won't be successful. It's very condensed and there is allot of work involved. My instructor is very responsive and always there to help. You get out what you put in! They've helped me with my funding and check in on me and see how I'm doing during my term. Cannot say enough good things about them!

I am currently enrolled in CDI campus West in the Addictions and Community Service Program! I find the course to incredibly beneficial not only for my future work in addictions, but learning more about myself and my own struggles. Being sober myself when participating in the program as a client you learn one valuable aspect but when you venture out and learn more of how to help others just like yourself you learn another aspect that forms a solid foundation. The teachers are effective in helping in a quick time frame, they’re understanding about lives outside of the class and want to see you strive the best of your potential throughout every second of the course! I highly recommend joining this program!

I have had an amazing time and experience while attending CDI West since October. With only 2 classes left and my practicum, I want to give a shout out to the most amazing instructor I have ever had. Svitlana Vasylysyna (aka Doc), you are the best instructor in my opinion that CDI west has but then you taught the majority of my classes so I am sure that all instructors there are excellent. Im writing this review today because I feel that my instructor that I have now at the end of my administrative assistant course, Kathy Norton, probably doesn't get the recognition that she deserves. For someone like me that has had no experience with computers whatsoever, I have to say that she is amazing at what she does. Very professional and had so much patience with me because believe me I had plenty of questions. My only wish was that I would have had her for my whole course. I graduated from CDI West in March 2020, I did Accounting & Payroll Administration course. I know it's been almost a year but feel like I should share my experience with everyone. This course is designed so comprehensively that it serves all the purposes of in class learning and workplace learning. I must add that the efforts of my instructor Ghulam Mustafa Siyal were phenomenal and his in-class lectures and explanations of all the relevant course material and the scenarios are really helpful in real life. I want to thank CDI west team as a whole for shaping the lives of students.

This campus is awesome! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.currently taking an addictions course and my instructor Kelly has taken this course herself and has plenty of experience in the field, great teacher.super happy with how things are going here. I highly recommend this campus.

I'm taking Cybersecurity Specialist at the West end. All staff are awesome there! I really have a good laugh! Hammad (my teacher) never a question is too big for him and he doesn't leave you till you understand totally what you have to do. Thanks for your help!

I am currently an MOA student at this campus and my experience was awesome. Everybody is friendly and helpful especially my instructor Miss Svitlana. From the school administrator, Miss Jessica and to all staffs, Miss Cheri, Miss Vivian, Miss Adila and Mr. Hamad, the go to person whose always there to help and troubleshoot our computers, they are all friendly and ready to help anytime. Its been a worth it decision to take this course.

I am giving these 5 stars to Adila Hamad the Employment Specialist at CDI West Edmonton location. Adila is professional, warm, easy to speak with, and follows up often with job potentials that are equal to ones professional abilities. Adila listens and makes sure she has full understanding of ones situation before proceeding with opportunities that are a good fit.

When the pandemic was in full swing CDI College gave me the opportunity to make a bad situation into a good one.
The Web and Mobile App Development course is fast passed and a little intense at times. But my instructor, Mr. Rathor, has been critical in helping me navigate the course in a way that I feel like I am going to do well at a job site when.
The staff at the West Edmonton campus have always been polite, helpful and easy to work with.

CDI West is the BEST! It has very welcoming environment and have a kind and helpful staffs. Special thanks to my current instructor Svitlana, despite of the situation right now because I'm attending virtual class most of the time, she's providing all the materials we need to better understand our course. And she is always willing to give you extra time if you need help!
And thanks also to Hammad for always helping us fix with our computer issues!

I finished my Diploma in Legal Assistant Program at this school. I now work at a firm just like some of my colleagues are. So I can say that my career is on a good standing right now.also I have to say that this school is a bit unorganized and a number of students are raging at the school director, teachers and school itself. My career story after CDI was the ideal but a lot of my colleagues did not get a job after the program.not to mention, a few of them had an experience where they got into an interview and the employer was hesitant to hire them because they were from CDI.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at the CDI West Location. I completed the Addiction and Community Services Worker program and could not be happier with my decision to attend this college. I am a single mom and was very worried that I wouldn’t be able to juggle everything. The staff, individually, met all of my needs. They were extremely accommodating and treated the students with the highest respect. The course load was manageable even though the content was vast.

Kelly Johnson was my Instructor. She is absolutely amazing. She values every student and heavily contributes to their achievements. She takes so much pride in her teachings. She truly loves to see her students succeed. Not only does she maintain a studious relationship but she develops friendships with her students. You are definitely not just a number in her program. If you have the opportunity to be taught by Kelly, I would HIGHLY recommend her any day. She is a strong instructor and can relay the information in a way that makes complete sense. And if it doesn’t, her door is ALWAYS open. She is an incredible person and educator.

Vivian was my Practicum Coordinator. This girl is extremely resourceful. She 100 % prepared me for my practicum/job search after I completely my in-class studies. She ensured that my resume was powerful and emphasized my skills/credentials. She was able to place me at a wonderful facility for my practicum. I gained so much insight into what day to day looks like in this field. Ultimately, my goal was to secure employment, in my chosen field, ASAP. Not only was I offered a position at my practicum facility, I was offered 3 more positions with alternative employers. I was working before my practicum was even completed. This is far more than I expected. Thanks to Vivian, there was no down time between school and employment. I am now employed in a position that feels tailored to exactly what I wanted. I am so beyond grateful.

Last but not least, Jessica (the director of CDI west) made this all possible. From the day that I applied, Jessica has been extremely helpful. She ensured that all of my needs were met. She was incredibly accommodating to some individual requirements that I had. She checks in often to ensure that the students are thriving academically and personally. Her door is always open and she will always fight for the benefit of the student.

When I was asked to give a review for Kathy Norton I remember how worried I was leading up to my last days. My computer skills needed help and Kathy even stayed later then normal at night to assist. I didn't just thank her once, I thanked her until I lost count of how many times I thanked her. Kathy was more than my instructor, she was like my younger sister and at times I even argued with her, of course I lost. So I can not come up with a more positive thing to state my gratitude toward the help I got but this - Your a Angel Kathy, thank you so much! This goes to all the CDI staff as well.

Where do I start? I came into this looking to better my self and my education and thats what I did, but I couldn't do it alone. I needed help I had questions and concerns. After some research I turned to CDI West, and they answered all my questions. This scary jump isn't so scary when you got freinds. Yes I said freinds, my freinds no longer staff or instructors. The path I chose to take was Logistics and supply chain Management and succeeded thanks to my instructors, and now I work for MTE Logistics. If it wasn't for Martin's (instructor) lectures and real life experiences which related to my experiences, I would have made a big mistake. Thanks to Kathy (instructor) answering my texts and late zoom meetings, I could have missed out on easy marks. One person who has become dear to me is Vivian (Practicum Coordinator / Career Services) she would help me fix my resume and had the best tips and tricks to getting a job not just in the field but a career during this tough time. Vivian would help me send emails and leave voicemails we worked well together. Don't matter who you talk too at CDI college west, they are all friendly and respectful. My experience at CDI was nurturing and exciting, i have made new friends from class mates to staff members. An experience truly worthwhile. West truly is best.

It's not easy going back to school later in life, with extra responsibilities on your plate. But I can say with the utmost confidence that the team at this college make you, as an individual, and your success, feel important. Kathy, who runs the learning center (amongst other courses), had so much patience with my lack of technical training. (apparently control/alt/delete doesn't solve everything). She guides students when they start at CDI, and had made my transition from '40 year old' to 'student' so much easier. You won't meet a kinder person, and yet she still makes coming to class fun. GM (accounting and payroll) is a mix of instructor and stand up comedian. He cares about his students, and was always there to provide help when he say any of them struggling. Classes that you would expect to be boring, on the basis of material presented, were made fun and enjoyable by means of his humor and experiences. All the staff fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Cherie, (student advisor) is always checking in on students, and made it a mission during covid to reach out to students on a continual basis, and encouraged students to reach out to her if they needed anything. Jessica, the director, is ALWAYS cheerful and loved by all the students. Vivian will make you smile even if you don't feel like it, because she has a 'joke of the day'. She also helps you leave with confidence, by means of her interview strategies, resume writing and professional skills. I don't normally write reviews, but if there is someone in a similar situation i was in a year ago, maybe this can be of assistance.
