Choosing Melissa and Cedarglen Homes has been one of the best decisions we've made, and we highly recommend her and Cedarglen to others looking to build their new home.

The overall condition of the home is excellent, but there are a few unresolved issues that the builder is no longer willing to address, citing that they are "within tolerance. " These issues include:

1. The stairs continue to squeak.
2. The color of the exterior garage door does not match the siding of the home, with the builder claiming it falls within acceptable tolerances.
3. Despite more than 20 visits from Kingswood Cabinets to rectify the problem, the cabinets still do not match.

Over the past year, we've had to address nearly 100 different deficiencies, requiring us to take time off for various trades to come and make repairs.

We really liked the outcome of the new home-building selections in terms of finish and quality in the Seton Area. Sales, Construction and Project teams guided us every step of the way. Cedarglen accommodated our request to change the possession date early one week saving us one month's rent. Cedarglen customized home design based on our wishes. Recommended. 5-Star.

Second house built in Auburn Bay. Cedarglen fell very short of the standard set by our first builder. Long list of deficiencies, some not address at all, including appalling grading of lot. Cedarglen refused to meet land report and blamed developer. Paid $2000 to have corrected. Builder grade paint instead of upgraded paint we paid for (touched up very poorly), microwave cabinet 2" too shallow (4 months to correct, main floor sink rough in incorrect and when repaired leaked on on Friday of long weekend and did hear back till Tuesday (had to pay plumber to repair) etc, etc, etc. Attempted to mediate issue regarding grading with response team, management and finally new home warranty with no results. Funny all it would have take was regrading the mess they made and I would have had a completely different outlook of Cedarglen. Hopefully this is helpful before making one of the biggest decisions of you life.

I have mixed results from Cedarglen.

Initially they were very good after the purchase, and most of the things/issues we as a homeowner encounter will be addressed.

However, I noticed that there is definitely some issue with my backyard grading. It was on a lowland and caused water pooling into the yard. Not only me, my neighbour on the left/right also noticed those. During rainy/snowy times, the backyards are flooded either with water or with ice. Due to this one of my tree in the backyard also died.

I have brought this up with Cedarglen and to my suprise they are not willing to do anything.

According to Cedarglen, their responsibility of the grading are only limited to City inspection and as soon as City provided the certification they are all good, anything happened after is totally out of their hand.

I am just listing my experience here and in my opinion any issues happened within my home/lot should be addressed doesn't matter certificated or not, you cannot just use a certification to push back my home's issue.

WARNING: DO NOT BUILD WITH CEDARGLEN! I just moved into a brand new home built by Cedarglen homes. Not a single day go by without any issues in this house. It all started with furnace when it stopped working followed by leaky plumbing in the basement. I have live running exposed wires in the house. I tried to work with multiple people since I moved but still no success. I have two toddlers at home and I am worried for their safety. I spent couple of nights during cold spell at my friends place. The buck for furnace is getting passed between Arpi @ builder. I am beyond disappointed when I spent over 900k on a brand new home that I cannot enjoy. Worst decision to build with this builder.

I purchased the house in 2018, there was some small issues with the house, but overall, the build was pretty solid or as I thought. Fast forward to 2021, left side of the driveway sunk, there is a noticeable lopside, I chucked it up to Calgary's crazy climate, even though haven't seen a similar case before. Then fast forward to this year, during one of the wind storms, several siding panels came off. I had paid nearly $2K to get it fixed, and before the job started, I called one of the rep at Cedarglen, they told me this should be covered under the Alberta Home Warranty. However, after the job was finished and I submitted the claim to AHWP, they declined my claim and said it isn't covered. Now Cedarglen is turning their backs saying they have no record of the previous conversation. All I can say is, this has been quite an disappointing experience overall, do you due diligence before making the biggest purchase of your life!

The customer service and the response for issues were greatly resolved. First of all a sales person that closed the deal: Denis from Seton was professional and patient. He was very knowledgeable to suggested us as a first time building home, correct thing. Jeff, the project supervisor was also helpful and knowledgeable. The office coordinator explained all the financial steps and documentation very smoothly. The lawyer was very nice and straight to the main point. Special thanks to Matt from response team for fast responce and smooth communication. And the most important work in our opinion did -DAVE - the inspection guy! He definitely need to get a bonus for his great customer service skills plus his ability to educate and teach all about home maintenance. Thank you Cedarglen for making us happy in our beautiful home!

Great value for what you pay for the most part, hard to find with newer homes but Cedarglen did a great job!

Overall we are pretty satisfied with our building experience with Cedarglen. Like any other builder you’ll experience the same problems or what not. No builder is perfect. Had a few communication problems from sales to design which wasn’t too much of a big deal. Our site supervisor Jason definately has made our experience way beyond expectations. If it wasn’t for him my review would be different.
