I usually shop from this store but today I went there and ask for price match with save on foods. Kinjal (supervisor) told me save on foods is their sister store they don’t do price match with their items They do price match with walmart and superstore only. This doesn’t make any sense and i asked if that’s your sister store you should match price. I checked their website and its written clearly that in alberta and Saskatchewan they do price match with save on foods as well. Staff doesn’t have knowledge of their policies on website. Checked with store manager or owner he states they do price match. Its really unfortunate and sad that I will never go to this store again. Every single item is highly priced as compare to other stores. Better to shop at fruiticana and sanjha punjab, Walmart, save on foods, superstore.
Coming to Calgary I am just rent with my family and we come here to get grocery one day. This is A1 store with all my culture food. Calgary very nice to the Punjabi’s
Every item is expensive in this store. I do not know how it is going to compete with Sanjha Punjab of City Scape and Fruticana of Skyview Pointe. I found almost $2 differnece in grocery items of this store while comparing to others in the surrounding area. I liked meat from this store. Peviously it was fresh and tasty, but today the meat that I bought was not fresh and no taste while cooking. When I brought meat home, its pieces were also turning black. I will never go to this store again.
Most of the products here are decently priced and have good location for people who live nearby as it's quick and convenient. Unfortunately, you need to check the meat closely. I often find steaks, a bit brown and old. Today, I found some disgusting ground beef that should be off the shelf. How do you even keep products like this on the shelf and are a slight discounted price? This could make buyer that are unaware very sick. Do better. Chalo!
Update: steaks are not fresh, flipped over package with brown meat underneath maybe its time to report you to the food inspectors.
"If you have purchased a Sunrise Grade A Fresh Turkey (5 - 8 kg) with a Best Before of October 11, we ask that you return it to a Chalo store near you for a full refund.
If you have any questions, our in-store team will be happy to assist you. "
Got this Email from them. So they obviously have issues.
Its a very nice store and outstanding staff. Very helpful and always offering the best deals and if out of stock always willing to substitute. Keep up the good customer service.
Some items didn't have pricing, but I'm not sure how long the store has been open. Otherwise, a wide variety of items. Some items are cheaper elsewhere. Only 1 cashier was there, or you had to use self checkout. Improvements can be made. Hopefully with time.
Nice store, lots to choose from. But if you’re not a foreigner I would highly avoid this place. Rude workers and prices advertised aren’t the actual price when it gets scanned and cashiers will refuse to check. Security will also follow you around if you look out of place. Won’t go back here again
Called the store at 10: 38 am, on Sept 13th, 2023, to inquire if they have Brar's Malai Paneer in stock. The girl who answered said that sometimes we have it and sometimes we don't, you'll have to come and check yourselves.
Yesterday, I went to the store around 7 pm, and the experience was really great. The frontend was very humble especially the cashier named Sukhman Kaur. She greets very well and in a polite manner.
