Chateau Lacombe Hotel

Great price, ok rooms. The rooms and offering can really use some updating. Additionally the towels and such could really be softer and a better quality. Really lacking in amenities. More accessible plugins for accessories such a mobile phone (really surprised at how outdated the rooms are including the tv remote that looks as though you are in a hospital

The hotel itself is pretty beautiful. The bathroom was very dated (at least our room was). The pillows were also very poor. We asked for more pillows as the ones in the room were like laying on a piece of wood. When we asked they promptly sent up more pillows which was very nice. Overall it was a good experience and we got our reservation at a really good price. I would certainly stay again at the deal we got.

We just went to the restaurant but the lobby was beautiful! Especially the Christmas tree!

Location and view is beautiful but service sucks really bad. Food was amazing at La ronde but again service was not great. I should be able to call front desk from the hotel phone but I could only reach them through my cell phone and even when I called on my cell they could not help me even get water they told me I had to go to another floor to purchase water from a vending machine. I would come again only if service was better and there was more free services for such an expensive room, water should be free and I shouldn't have to drink from their old rusty pipes.

The guest services are garbage when you check in, they'll give you the run-around, if you book a room it won't be ready when they say, they'll make you wait without giving you a room number or even an estimate on when the room will be ready, the hotel is old and the rooms are basic like a roadside motel, when you call the front desk they'll pick up and hang up on you.

Don't stay here unless you have absolutely no other option, stayed here for one night and I'll mever come back, can't wait to check out and get tf out of here.

This is a older but fantastic hotel. Booked a room with access to concierge lounge. Thee food selection for evening was pretty good. Two free alcoholic beverages are also part of the lounge access. The room had large windows with a great view of the river

Very disappointed as their was no full breakfast as advertised. They provided what they called a continental breakfast. Well, bread to toast tea coffee yogurt juice some sort of cake and fruit.
May be they need to see what a real continental breakfast is. There was no reduction in the price.

Great downtown hotel, the round hotel and pie-wedge rooms make for good views. We came with a large group and had a rough time checking in but the staff worked hard to sort it all out. We also had great breakfasts. The beds were super comfortable, and the rooms, while a little dated, were very comfortable.

Room, products all good. Check in fine. AArea around hotel had a dodgy atmosphere to it- and lots of police and fire truck action. Not a great place to walk around at night. Everything else was fine

This place has a lovely view if the river valley, be sure to get a valley view room. We had the concierge level experience. Enjoyed wine and snacks for happy hour. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lounge has great cocktails and a wonderful view. Parking is a bit pricey. This is a gem in the heart of downtown edmonton.

25 th anniversary meal on Friday 28th April 2023, as always this was a totally top experience, our lady server was outstanding, as was every other staff operative, thankyou, everyone, food and drinks the best, and beautiful views.

The Chateau Lacombe is a wonderful hotel if you’re looking for views of the North Saskatchewan River. However, in terms of hotel comfortbility, I can’t give this hotel more than 3 stars.

In our hotel room, the air was humid and hot, almost unbearable if you have more than 3 people in a room. We had to ask the front desk for a fan, because the room was simply too hot to not have one. Our saviour from the heat was the hallway, which was a comfortable temperature.

The shower was confusing, but it became manageable. My biggest peeve however, was that there was no bathroom fan to get rid of the smell. For a 4 star hotel, I would expect at least a well conditioned room with adequate bathroom facilities, but maybe I’m asking for too much.

This hotel was horrible. In a bad part of town, was in it over the past weekend (April 15th-April 19th) and it was the worse experience ive ever had with a hotel. Our room was so hot it was impossible to get a good nights sleep, Our room did not have AC. The heat was on. Well the staff did provide a fan, our room was still overly hot. Our room lacked both a microwave and a mini fridge (Convinced they were stolen). I did at one point loose my wallet in the room, the only good part of the staff was how helpful they were. The staff jumped on finding my missing wallet that had fallen into a trash bag by accident. The part of town it was located in was not the best, and I do not expect to return any time soon.

Rooms are boiling. I’ve stayed here twice no, years apart hoping they had upgraded.no AC both times, Sweating buckets in the room it’s beyond uncomfortable. Only solution was a fan that doesn’t do anything and 20$ off the room. Rooms are over priced for what you get. Run down. I’ve seen super 8s with better upkeep than this. Sure location is “downtown” but still a fair walk away from anything. Hallways are noisy, can here every sound. Not even worth it.

Staff was very welcoming and helpful the only issue wat the heat in the rooms would not turn off hotel provided fans in the room as well as upgrade our stay so we had a balcony to open the only recommendations I have is that the guess should beable to use air conditioning all year besides that I will definitely be staying aging

Descent room, it was clean. Nice enough hotel, some rooms have a great view. I don't agree with having to pay for parking.

I was disappointed. The rooms are old, especially the bathrooms, and you can hear everything through the walls. The doormen and cleaning staff were fantastic but only one desk staff acknowledged me once when going through the lobby at least twice a day. Access to the hotel is horrible but not much they can do about that.

Rooms were clean & hotel staff were excellent to deal with, especially Don. He handled the valet service during our stay and was an absolute peach each time we needed the truck.

Extremely nice and caring people. Room was clean and temperature was perfect. Coffee amenities hit the spot as well. For a performing musician who played at the star lite down the road they hooked up an excellent deal as well. Highly recommend!

The place has seen better days. Aging hotels is not a problem usually but this place is not maintained or cared for.
Cherry on top is in morning thinking to make coffee and find an old coffee pouch in the coffee maker. Housecleaning just never bothered to clean that prior to check in. TV remote is inside a sarcastically called Clean Box or whatever but remote itself still had orange residue which I assume is from chips or whatever.
It was cheapest place to stay near convention centre but will avoid in the future.

I am here for a seminar for two nights. Rooms are extremely hot. Was told air conditioning not working until Friday. Another guest was told they don’t turn on air conditioning until May? They supplied fans in the rooms yet that didn’t help. Is like walking into a sauna. Very hard to sleep. Only food option during the day was a very limited buffet. We had a work colleague with us with allergies and couldn’t have lunch as they had no other options. They only had one server on and the only time she came to our table was to bring the bill. I will not attend this seminar again unless they move it to another hotel. Very disappointed.

Location is the only thing for the star
The front desk staff is not friendly and the room cleaning is not really good, especially the bathroom
Blood on the toilet seat really scared me…

I had a great and memorable staying at Chateau Lacombe. It’s a unique and iconic hotel in town. It’s little bit old but they keep it very well. All the staff are very nice and kind specially the Bellman. He is so kind and welcoming! I had a great view from my room. It’s located in downtown Edmonton.
