Chateau Louis Hotel

Thank you to the Chateau Louis Hotel conference center and their amazing staff for making my birthday celebration in the St. Michaels room at the end of June. Their Set up was perfect for 50 people with huge help from Taras.the food was so great. Everyone raved about it all day. Quote "the chicken was the best we've ever eaten". Of course the planning and day-of staff all professional and helpful. The audio/visual equipment was set up to accommodate my slide show. My family and friends loved the "beautiful place to celebrate". The chef and the kitchen staff did a perfect job on the birthday cupcakes. I would recommend this wonderful place for any celebration.

I tend not to leave bad reviews but I came to have lunch and play the VLTs but wasn’t allowed in because I had a small reusable bag with a water bottle and bag of plastic animal toys. They said it’s “policy” that’s insane I have a medical condition that I need to carry a water bottle. They really don’t want business I suggest you take your business else where. Hotel is old and dark and grungy anyways.

I did not stay in a guest room, but I attended this hotel for a company event and was pleased with the cleanliness and safety of the hotel. The event spaces and common areas were exceptionally clean and organized, and the decor was nice. The staff were also friendly and attentive. I will return for a meal and/or an overnight stay. Would definitely book another event here.

I stayed at this hotel for a concert I was attending with a friend in town. The room was outdated and smelled like an old basement. And to top it off there was no air conditioning in the rooms so it sweltering hot.
They did offer a small fan which unfortunately didn’t make a difference.
The only reason why I give a 3 star is the lovely staff at the front desk. Other than that I wouldn’t stay here again.

Shopping center is directly across the street and they have a huge conference room that's separate from the hotel but in the parking lot. On site liquor store and many places to shop superstore and then multiple different take out or dine in restaurants and Canadian tire is located within walking distance.

Was there just overnight. The pillows were extremely soft. Not as comfortable as you would think.

Excellent brunch and a classy if slightly dated decor. The service was excellent and they helped accommodate my Dad's disability.

Great hotel, there was a donation room for your old clothes that i thought was a really cool idea. The hotel has a piano bar inside, nice rooms and reasonable rates.

Gave us a sweet room in the corner so easy access to outside for my service dog. Very clean with great room service.

I had a book reservation with edmonton referral and It was supposed to be for myself only. So I called ahead and told them I had my spouse and elderly mother with me. They said I'd have to pay the difference of $15 and asked for a a cot. They said they would accommodate that. We got to the room at 330am because we were busy seeing my sister, whom is on her deathbed in the hospital. When I got to the hotel, the desk clerk was giving me a rough time saying there was only 2 people allowed in the room. I explained to him that we came from and hour and half away and we were really tired. He did take my 15 dollars for the extra person and didn't say anything if we got the room or anything. He just took my ids and money. Then we went to the room and there wasn't any cot. We went downstairs and told him and he said there was a pull out sofa. We went back to the room and there was no sofa. So we ended up sleeping on the same bed which was very uncomfortable. I didn't approve of his behavior he was very rude and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially in our circumstances. Im very angry about the whole situation.

I had lunch in the cafe. The price was reasonable, the food was good and the staff were polite and efficient.
An enjoyable way to spend a quiet 40 minutes. Clean and well lit.

My bowling league had their wind up dinner and ceremony in their dining room. I enjoyed the meal and the service. Our team did very well in the awards department as well. I would say a good time was had by all.

I hadn’t had the need to use the rooms yet so my comments are solely relative to the lounge and the dining room. The menu is thoughtfully crafted especially the buffets which is reasonably priced for the delicious and ample selection offered. Staff are friendly and attentive and service is generally very good. I never feel rushed so I’m willing to be patient when they are short staffed and running full throttle. And it’s a good environment to have lively conversations or a quiet meal without the blaring sound of music or TV in the background.

Great speak-easy pub with a live pianist! What a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the pub. Atmosphere was perfect, service great, live pianist so enjoyable. Thank-you!

Definitely room for improvement.

Housekeeping staff was helpful and friendly.

Front desk staff left much to be desired.

Very cheap with providing towels and our room needed some maintenance and renos.

Too expensive for what you actually get.

I had my wedding in the Hotel and was provided two halls, one for the ceremony and the other for reception; also I had to make reservation in the hotel for family and friend that were flying from other province to attend the wedding. The design and deco of the hotel halls blew my mind despite the pricing being really reasonable. The staff (esp. Sandra, Joan and Rose) were really helpful in the organising and planning of the wedding, I could not thank them enough. Also, our family and friends that stayed in the hotel for two nights to attend the wedding were impressed with hotel and my wife & I shared similar view having spent our first night after being married in the hotel.

Update:

You can buy gluten free cakes by the slice or by the cake. Need about 4 days notice for a while cake. The gluten free chocolate layered cake was under $40!

Call ahead for the gluten free fried chicken takeout. They need about 30 minutes.

Most celebration meals like mother's day, valentine day, new years eve etc are set gluten free course meals or buffets!

Chef Lorne Soles is an amazing chef. He's the type of guy that knows what he's doing but doesn't boast about it.

The gluten free prime rib Saturday night buffet is back on in full force.

Plus the gluten free fried chicken is now always available by the bucket (6,10 or 20pcs).

Highly recommend going. Especially for gluten free eating. If you are not going on Saturday, just let staff know you require gluten free and you will be taken care of.

We just booked a king suite here for our anniversary and it was amazing.

The dated French colonial style they've maintained is absolutely awesome. This building has a lot of history but with renovations to keep the place from seeming old. Huge jacuzzi tub, fireplace, comfy clean bed, robes. I could go on. It was just really nice and a welcome change from the same basic hotel rooms you'd find at a Best Western or Sandman. This felt more like an experience. I now love older hotels. Very very cool. We will be back for sure.

Front desk ladies were also very kind, easy-going, and helpful.
