Chatters Hair Salon

All I needed was a trim so I called ahead and was told the price was based on time and would be at the discretion of the stylist. When I arrived and once again explained what I wanted, Becca told me that the price was fixed and could not be changed. Ten minutes later I paid $55 for a trim.
The moral of my review is that if you want to be scammed, please go to Chatters and over pay for mediocre service.

I went to Ashley for a consultation after a really bad hair experience elsewhere. And when I tell you this girl is a wizard of hair- I am NOT joking. She literally took the mess of my hair and turned it into a beautiful blended shocking look. I am so beyond grateful to have been placed with this stylist. Highly recommend! The front end girls were also incredible so props to you guys! But Ashley- THANK YOU!

Friendly staff and clean place. Got my first balayage and haircut here and I love it. If you’re looking for a hairstylist, I recommend Jay O. He is a professional hairstylist!

I skipped around from barber to barber and endured rushed/bad cuts for years. It sucked. Since I began going to Chatters, I haven't had one bad haircut and it's been years now.

I’ve been to this salon three times and I’ve been screwed over every single time. I thought at first that it was my fault for not explaining correctly but I was so positive that this time I would get exactly what I wanted, as I had planned out what I was going to say. I also want to mention that I had THREE reference photos of the same person and haircut in different angles so I would know that they’d understand exactly what I wanted. When I got in, I showed my hairdresser the three photos and explained exactly what I wanted but I guess my lady was so incompetent that she did not understand AT ALL. Her excuse was ‘Well, I don’t really specialize in wolf-cuts, so I don’t think I’ll be able to do that for you. ’ and went on explaining that I didn’t have the right hair type, and that it wouldn’t look the same but THEN said that she could cut an inch all around and that it would look similar to the photo. I hesitantly agreed but had several thoughts about walking out. What I was paying for was a wash, cut, and style, but this woman did not style it AT ALL like how I wanted and did not even ask beforehand how I would like it styled. She basically did the exact opposite of everything I had told her and then after when I looked upset she has the absolute AUDACITY to ask if everything was okay, and that I wasn’t clear about what I wanted, and how she just went off of what I said. She was a liar and a god damn snake right to my face so I hope that she gets fired immediately. If I could, I would rate this salon a 0 but the lowest available is a 1. If you ever think about getting your hair cut in a shorter style, NEVER go here. I’m sure that they would be much better at cutting longer hair but NEVER EVER come here for a short style.

I give Mayfield Common 5 stars for service. Looked like majority of the hair stylish were men. Had an Asian cut mine. He was awsome. Very busy. Would recommend them on short notice.

There is no more Mensroom, at Chatters they won’t say “Men” anymore. Its “Short Hair” cuts and “Long Hair” cuts, its right on the Chatters website. The Mensroom was done the second they sold to Chatters. I went maybe twice after, and it's not the same at all, many of the long-term staff left, others want to leave now, and all the stylists did was complain. Chatters took the name, and maybe a few clients only, but make no mistake you get a Chatters haircut now, not a Mensroom. Unfortunately, you can't ever duplicate the same environment and atmosphere like it was. There is no more lounge or siting area now even, no more bar, no more massage, no more hot shaves, no more amenities or masculine ambience in anyway like it was. The real Mensroom is done and very much missed!
