Juroh was fantastic. He listened to what I described and gave me the exact haircut I was hoping for, with an awesome head massage as well. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Unfortunately it only takes for one person to ruin the good reputation of a place, a bad experience and the worst customer service from a staff member named Ronald, who lacks professionalism and work ethics.

Had my first appointment today with Samiera, very happy with the results.

I always go see Rodica at this Shawnessy location but after seeing Aisha before she left on maternity leave I realized that not all the chairs are the same. Several of them are broken and does not support the back at all. As a client with serious back issues this is just not acceptable. Who wants to sit in a chair that swings way back like a rocking chair without any support. I spend a minimum of 2 hrs in that chair in a very uncomfortable position.

I had a wonderful friendly experience with my stylist-absolutely enjoyed every minute. I am a senior in an age care facility, wheelchair bound. Every possible effort was made to ensure my comfort.
Near the end of my appointment, I felt I was being rushed out
My stylist seemed reluctant to show me the back of the cut, and I knew right away that the front was not right.
When a couple of days had passed, I had a devastating case of shingles- explains why I haven’t returned. The colour is nearly gone (disappointing, but could be meds messing up) That’s my story, it’s long and I apologize

Great, got me in for a walk in on a Friday after work! Worked with Samira to put a plan of action into play lol regarding my next visit! Would recommend them!

I can't remember the name of the fellow my granddaughter had but she is do picky but she loved how he cut her hair and asked her and not me

I stopped into this week to sharpen hair shears of all the stylists. All the chatters stylists were very particular about their shear edge condition to ensure they can provide the best care for their clients hair. The hair stylists at Chatters Hair Salon are totally prepared for your hair cutting needs with renewed shear edges for the upcoming seasonal events or just to look your best on a regular day. Rest assured you will not get any split ends resulting from hair cuts with dull scissors at this location.

Went for eyebrow threading- worst experience ever in Canada! They should not hire people with no threading experience! Not just a waste of money but cant get my original eyebrow back! Requested for forehead and eyebrow threading and she did both but in a messy way.
Never coming here again thats for sure!

I usually go to chatters whenever i need my few months cut/trim, and usually see any stylist available because what I want is pretty well explanatory and isn't rocket science. I know my hair is pretty dried/fried (because of previously going previously blonde) and that is why I try to trim it every so often to keep my length. However I recently saw a stylist who just seemed SO unprofessional and made me feel bad about myself. She kept going about how fried/dead my ends were (like yes, I know, you said it 20 times already) which made me feel bad about myself. And then I had to stand up for most of the cut (do the chairs not go up?) in which I felt not relaxed at all. And usually every stylist asks me if I want my hair curled or just kept straight afterwards, but she started cutting my hair without asking me which okay, fine, but the curls turned out HORRIBLE. The flat iron was too small for my front pieces, which just made it look so weird even when I tried to comb and brush it out. So here I am now at home, having to wash my hair completely again and fix it myself. Will never return.

I booked both my daughters in, 13 and 15 for a cut and colour for one, and a cut colour and highlights for the other.

Someone on their end booked it wrong so when I dropped off my girls only one was able to get their hair done.

My 13 year old was berated by the Ukrainian lady who was supposed to do her hair for wasting her time and told her she’d have to rebook and not waste her time.

Who yells at a 13 year old for their business screwing up?

My daughter was almost in tears but I came back later as she had her heart set on getting her hair done before going back to school.

There was a young Filipino man who did my other daughters hair. He did a fantastic job and was very nice.

That other girl did a fantastic job but has a lousy attitude. I’d never use her again. Reducing a 13 year old to tears for wasting her time?

Considering I spent almost $500 on two hair cuts both amazing but two vastly different personalities is why I’m giving it a three.

I love the stylists they are super nice and listen to what you want. I wish they would offer a hair cut with a perm, it seems super stupid not to.

Just had a great hair cut experience with Tetiana (Tanya) at Shawnessy Chatters. She made sure to confirm what I saw in the picture I showed her vs what she saw (different things so glad to have clarified!). She then cut my hair and styled it exactly as I'd asked. Very happy with the results! Kind person and very gentle hands! Provided advice for new shampoo afterwards. Highly recommend Tetiana P (Tanya).

Very clean salon so many products to choose from.
Got a cut not what I wanted, and 2 staff standing at desk staring at customers and laughing as they walked in. Miserable place unfriendly.

Always such a professional and conversational staff! They double check you comfort level with the skill of the stylist and ensure your comfort throughout the process

I can’t remember her name but the woman at the front who helped me check out my shampoo was so sweet and kind. The employees are so respectful even when you’re just browsing. I prefer to be left alone when I shop so I really appreciate the “sounds good! Just give me a shout if you have any questions” attitude. Warm smiles and friendly small talk while the customers pay goes such a long way as well. The employees here do such a phenomenal job. The location is also so clean and organized. Love shopping here! I had an absolutely amazing experience at this location today! It’d been a while since I had a hair cut and my hair was long and in need of a change. I booked an appointment online (which was SUPER easy) and my stylist, Kim did such a great job! He completely changed my look and I am in love with it! Thank you so much! I will definitely be back!

Danni did a fantastic job with my hair. I knew what I wanted, but even before I said too much she suggested the perfect length and colour. We were on exactly the same page. When I mentioned some concerns I had about my scalp and hair, she suggested specific products and explaained the why behind why those would work for what I needed. She's friendly and knowledgeable and obviously loves what she does.

I just left the Salon in Shawnessy after a haircut/style with Kim M.and I’m so happy with the style. They were so nice, I think they realized that I had an extremely rough week and was okay just to cut my hair without much conversation.
It looks so good, I’m so happy and had to write the review before I forgot.

I honestly cannot recommend Chatters and Danni L.enough! My previous stylist had moved to Saskatchewan and I had put off getting my hair highlighted or cut for 7 months. I was nervous to try a new salon and stylist, but am so glad I happened to find Danni's instagram and booked with her. My blonde highlights look amazing and my hair looks so thick! Thanks Danni!

Great reservation software and excellent stylists. Prices are good and you can always get an appointment with someone.

She has coloured my hair and given me multiple hair cuts -all of which I have loved! So much so that I bring my daughters to her also as I know that I can trust that I will get the results that I’m hoping for on the first try!

I had a hair emergency when my original stylist was sick (from a different company) so when I phoned I talked with Robin and told her my situation and that I needed my hair done because I was leaving for my wedding in a few days. There was an opening at this location and I asked her if the stylist was good because most important day coming up, and she said yes she would recommend him. (Which I get that she probably has to say everyone is good) but she could lied and said there was no openings instead of letting me go to him. I ended up going somewhere else later that day to see if there was any way to fix it and she said that I basically need a color correction to fix what he did to my hair. So the biggest day of my life is ruined and I have ZERO time to fix it. I will never again go to any chatters nor will I ever recommend to anyone!

I wish I could give this salon 0 stars. I went in for a simple shampoo and styling, it’s an understatement to say they did a horrible job. I told the stylist from the start to put in a serum or something before styling since my hair are dry and coarse in texture. All he did was add just a dash of serum at the end. I know he knew that I wasn’t happy with the waves he’d put in (terrible job again, didn’t even show me the back in the mirror) but really didn’t offer to fix it. My hair ended up looking really puffy and dry, I could have done a better job at home, not to mention the meltdown I had before the event that I was supposed to attend: ’ (

Very disappointed. Went 2 weeks prior to an event I went and tested the service I wanted. The event day, I was running late a few minutes, called to inform that I would arrive a little late, it would be around 5 min… I take 5 minutes to get there, I called at 3: 57, leaving the house (I have proof) the person on the phone said they were not able to take me… because the professional had a person right after me. My hair is short and very very fine, dries super quick… What kind of place is that? That can’t wait 5 min for a client? I have that booked 2 weeks prior, I called because I have respect and she was like: we can’t take you… without checking with the professional? He would’ve remember me and know that my hair is quick… I managed to search, call and book another place, 10 min away from my home and I was there at 4: 12.

My daughter and I are so thrilled with how we were pampered at Chatters! Aisha took care of my daughter’s damaged hair and made her GORGEOUS (even more than usual!) and my daughter loved their chit-chat. Markus evened out my post-Covid layered madness and my daughter and I will definitely be back! Thanks to all for your friendliness and professionalism.

I really hate to leave this one star review. My stylist was a very kind sweet lady. BUT. I came in with a photo to base my hair color on, it was a light-dark brown. Not dark enough to be considered dark and not light enough to be well, light. Just a medium chestnut-mousey brown.

The stylist insisted on putting purple dye in my brown dye because it looked like they might have done something like that in the photo I told her that is NOT what I want and I just want it a solid brown.
It looked AMAZING when it when it was done until I walked outside. It was pitch black. I’ve been washing it every day for a week now and it’s slowly started to lighten. Thank god.

But.

I was getting ready for bed and I was looking closely at the mirror. I had purple hair. I know some dyes can carry under tones, like red and green and what not. But this is not the undertone- it’s just purple.

I’m kinda upset with this because I told the stylist the purple was not what I wanted and I’m guessing she used it anyways even after I said no. And now I need to get it fixed before job interviews later this week and I’m just really hoping this didn’t fry my hair. I had been restoring it to a healthy state for a year now just to kill it again.

Suggest not using their online booking. Booked for my available day but it had booked for another. Reception said I could come back in 3 hours, I work 70 hours a week, my day off is strictly scheduled. The staff said there has been issues with the online booking, I would recommend either fixing the issue or inform your customers that it doesn't work properly and only use it if you can come at your convenience not your customers. After the initial disappointment, no apology was given.

Rodica does an amazing job! I have seen her twice now and both times I have loved my colour and cut. It took me awhile to find a good stylist but I have finally found someone who is great at what she does and reasonably priced!

Sierra is an amazing stylist and is always on time, professional and friendly. Their Covid measures are in place and I feel very comfortable there. Thanks for being awesome!

It was an amazing experience going to this location. So satisfied and happy with the haircut and the hairstylist Claire was so awesomea friendly. She make sure that we will happy with our hair. Goodjob Miss Claire. We will be back for sure. I will recommend her to my friends. ️

I found the staff to be friendly and it is a beautiful salon. I was comfortable with their COVID-19 measures. Thankfully it is a large salon so easy to social distance while I was waiting for my daughter's hair to be done. Be warned there is no waiting area, which is to be expected nowadays. However I was disappointed in having to pay over $120 for her to get a chunk/strip of hair bleached/ coloured, and her hair cut was just a straight across cut despite me asking for her to get some long layers. I really would have liked her hair to have gotten some body and style which she normally gets from haircuts there. Also the colour was to be a darkish red but turned to be a hot, bright pink. Maybe something out of their control, I am really not familiar with hair colouring. Either way, too pricey for me to do it again at this salon so again have to find a new one again. My bad for not shopping around or asking more questions.

I went to get my haircut for the first time since COVID hit. I wanted just the crown of grey on my hair coloured but there must have been a miscommunication because I left with very dark hair. I have never coloured my whole head due to not wanting to lose the strawberry blonde part. Well, that is basically gone and it looked alright when I was at salon but when I got home I could have cried when I saw how dark it was.

Not only that but I was left in a very uncomfortable chair for a long time and when I was finally checked on and asked if I was ok, I said no, as my leg was numb. Well, he continued to shampoo, condition and did not even ask if I needed to change my position. I feel bad about writing this but I am hoping that it makes the stylists check on the clients more often and make sure that are comfortable. And maybe ask at the beginning of appointment if they have any health issues that would be appreciated

They have a great selection of products and the ladies there are so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my experience there.

I was pretty happy with the covid measures and overall experience however my hair ended up ~2 in shorter than I wanted. He clarified several times and showed me the length, which I agreed to, but it ended up shorter. In the end I just wanted it to go into a pony tail but after I got home and tried, the bottom portion of my hair falls out. Unless he assumed I meant nape of my neck pony (when I came in with a high pony) I don't see how the length is what we talked about. Not a huge deal, but it is going to be 2+ months before my hair is where I wanted it.

High volume, abrupt service at times, especially over the phone. Website is ancient and doesn't feature 95% of the sights in store.

The young lady recommended an amazing detangler! It worked like a charm! 6-8 sprays is all you need! And I have very long thick hair.

I have been seeing Dani here for a few years now I believe. I always saw haircuts as a pain to get but with Dani I look forward to it. She is a great stylist, and a great person. We have fun chatting about travel, music and life. Highly recommend Chatters and Dani.

Got a balayage done here but they clearly don't know how to do them properly. She only did the tip of my hair where I already had the leftover of my last hair dyeing a long time ago, no face framing at all. Got charge close to 300$ for that. Will never go back and would never recommend to anyone.

Loved the washing of my hair. They take their time and I enjoyed the scalp massage, best one ever.

I was in town for Christmas and needed a refresh of colour and cut. Jamie gave me an amazing cut - exactly what I was looking for - and the colour was a perfect match. I also liked the vibe of the salon and the availability of so many products.

Went to see Johnny for a haircut after reading so many positive reviews about him. He was awesome and so nice! He listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Thanks Johnny:)

Danni at chatters shawnessey does a fantastic job, highly recommended having her cut and style your hair.

10/10 for Johhny as usual! He is the only person I let cut my hair! The branch was busy and had a lot on the go but that didn't stop the staff from being extremely friendly and on the ball. I wouldn't go anywhere else:)

Not sure if the staff here understand what an 'updo' means. Booked 2 slots for an updo for myself and my sister and had a horrifying experience. The lady clearly struggled to put a simple hair do together - instead kept complaining that I have very heavy hair - and adding that she felt bad for me a couple of times - well I feel bad for you and your skills. Spent an hour on my hair and gave up in the end! Made a strange pony tail on my head and added curls on the side coz apparently my hair is too heavy.my sister who has much shorter hair had a similar experience.her stylist also gave her a very unneat version of an updo. What a waste of $120 and 1.5 hours! Never again.

Johnny is super awesome! He made suggestions to what I wanted that would suit me. Definitely highly recommend him and will request Johnny for my next visit.
