I had a panic attack and lost a few days of sleep now. I was really looking forward to getting my hair done.

I got a trim an treatment from Taylor R. My hair since that treatment has been breaking continuously and falling out from the root. The cut was is so uneven I am considering cutting it all off after my year of growing it out.

They comped the treatment an gave me a product. I felt obligated to tip cause my anxiety was so high. I am so devastated.

I am so mad at this location. The girl upfront they always claim that Jose is busy and booked when ever i am trying to book but when i get their he is always free. If you do not want to work then quit and let some one else work who is willing to book the appointments.you have one job please do it professionally.either way i am not coming back because of how they treat their co workers.unprofessionalism all the way.

I feel duped. The person at the reception was very rude. At first she said that the cost of men’s haircut was $36. So I booked an appointment and after the haircut was done, she asked me to pay $42. I asked her to give me the breakdown and she says that the cost of haircut is $38 for men (suddenly a $2 increase than what she quoted during my appointment booking) and then $2 environmental fees (again a hidden cost) and then taxes. So this is non sense. Why are you hiding the cost from the customer? When I asked what’s the cost for a haircut, please tell me all the hidden costs instead of cheating the customer and duping them. It’s a very small amount but be ethical in the way you do your business. I would never recommend Chatters to anyone and neither am I coming back again with my husband.

Amber did an amazing job on my hair. She’s very talented and knowledgeable and took the time to give me what I asked for. Great salon and very friendly team!

This is my second time seeing Taylor and she is now the only stylist I will go to. She managed to fix a huge disaster made by another stylist and it came out better than I could have ever expected. She is friendly and has a really great personality. For someone is new to the industry she has more skill than stylists I have previously had that have been in the industry for years. You can tell she is really passionate and cares a lot about the end result. I cannot recommend her enough!:)

Please be specific about information you provide to customer going forward about returns and exchange policies cuz unknowingly you are wasting other peoples time.

Hi i went for keratin treatment. I had appointment with Charles D. At the time of booking, it was $201. When i was ready to pay after the treatment, he told that the price is $325 including hair trim ($58). I showed him email, he said that he forgot to discuss the price before. My hair are short, really thin n not too wavy though. And he took less than 2 minutes to trim my hair. I felt insulting there

Jose is by far the best experience I have had at a hair salon. I have been to some of the highest priced salons in Calgary and he definitely has exceeded my expectations. He’s a keeper!

Drove in from out of town to get a haircut last week. Been to this location before and have had no problems. Wanted it cut shoulder length, layered and with bangs. Well the stylist, who was very friendly had no problems with the staff personality, talked me out of the bangs, ok fine. Still wanted it shoulder length and layered. My hair length was cut correctly, but it is cut like a bob not layered like I asked for. I have a natural wave which is a pain in the butt when it is not cut layered. Needless to say I am not very happy with the cut. Oh well I will give it a couple of months then get it cut properly. Not sure if i would go out of my way to go to this location again.

Kelsey gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. Super friendly and really took the time to understand my hair concerns which I feel like no other hairdresser has taken into concideration so I always end up with boring hair cuts. She was very knowledge able and suggested what products I should be looking for my hair type.

This was a great hair experience! I've been going to another salon for almost two years now but the pandemic has made it hard for me to afford premium prices, and my hair was desperate for a change. I've had good colouring experiences at other Chatters locations but this was my first time at Chinook. I was, admittedly, nervous to go out on a limb but it was absolutely worth it.

The service itself was well priced and pretty par for the course at the majority of salons. I got a balayage with a nice dusty rose colour and a dark root, plus a trim and a bang cut. My appointment started right on time and everyone working was very friendly and genuinely seemed like they enjoyed being there. The salon was clean and the social distancing measures were really nice. Amber, my stylist, was great! From the start she was enthusiastic about the changes I wanted to make. I really appreciated her mindfulness to not over process my hair with the lightning (she was super thoughtful when it came to not placing foils over parts of my hair that were already quite blonde). She was also thorough with me when it came to maintenance, walking me through the products available in the storefront. She presented me with a lot of options and never once did it feel like I was being sold something I didn't need.

I feel like a totally new person and I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

I made an appointment on a whim, wanting a big change to my hair. I had about 5+ years of growth and have been afraind to cut my hair due to past hair cutting experiences. The air stylist I received had beutiful coppery curly hair - I didn't get a chance to get his name but he was amazing. I went in told him what I am looking for and he made me feel comfortable and did exactly as I asked.i left feeling fresh with over 3 inches of my hair gone. Ive never felt so good about my hair. Whatever your name is - thank you for being my hair saviour.

Great service and awesome haircut. I was a bit scared that a hair stylist won't understand what I want, but his work was beyond my expectations! It was professional, fast, and I am happy with my completely new look. Fidel did a great job, highly recommended.

I have been going to chatters for 15 years with up and down experiences and the past two visits were not very good so I was looking for a new salon. Chatters, Jose saved you a longtime client, I look forward to my next appointment with him.
Oh! - also, the lady who helped me at the front was also very kind.

You can get a good haircut from here. Just have to be careful. Some of them rush your haircut and miss some spots

He lied to me about the price of my hair service and continued to blatantly lie about it after I confronted him and management.

I booked a haircut and colour service done by Charles at the Chinook Centre Chatters location for the March Tuesday promotion, which is 50% off colour service with a full priced hair cut. With this, I was expecting my bill to be $152/2 + $48 = $124 ($130.20 with tax). However, after the appointment, I was told that my bill was $177.45 with tax. I enquired about why the bill was $47 more and was told by Charles and the front desk that toner and treatment were extra and they were both mandatory for the colour service.

I later found out that the treatment was OPTIONAL. Charles never asked me whether I wanted to have the treatment. He only told me that he had put a treatment in my hair after he had already done so, so I assumed it was included in the price.

I contacted management and they were very accommodating and agreed to refund me the $28 for treatment. They also scheduled me with another Chatters stylist who did a great job on my hair.

When I went to pick up my refund, Charles was there and I let him know that I was upset that he had been dishonest to me about the treatment being included in the price. Instead of acknowledging his mistake, he LIED AGAIN that he had given me the price breakdown beforehand. I am absolutely sure that he NEVER did this. I can’t believe he is still lying and it really illustrates his lack of professionalism and morals.

In terms of the quality of the service, I was also very unsatisfied. I had asked Charles for an ashy brown balayage/babylights look. I showed him multiple pictures of what I wanted before we started and he assured me he can achieve the look. However, when I got back home and saw the colour in natural lighting, the colour was much darker than what I asked for with orangey tones. In addition, the babylights started 1-2 inches from the roots and it looked like my hair got done 2 months ago rather than 1 day ago. I was very disappointed that Charles was not able to achieve anywhere near a similar look. After he blow dried my hair, he told me that he was done and I had to ask him to style my hair with a curling iron, which should be included automatically. The curls turned out terribly. I have attached photos of what I asked for and what the end result was.

I can understand that sometimes stylists are not able to achieve a certain look and I appreciate that Chatters was able to arrange a redo with another stylist. What I can’t accept is that Charles’ behaviour was highly unprofessional and he continued to lie to both myself and management.

Fiancé started getting her hair cut here. I went to try it, as the recent barber I was going to only had one style of haircut he would do, which was decent but did not suit me very well. Very pleased with Kelsey. Friendly, attentive and I will be going back for sure. A+

Had an amazing hair dresser. I had baby lights done, toner and a cut. It was done very well. The hair dresser was very kind and professional. Sorry, I didn't get his name (he has a web tattoo on his arm)

I never leave reviews but I have to say that Jose is literally the best! I was skeptical of dying my black hair to ashy brown, but it turned out great. Trust your hairdresser!:)

Amber cut my hair, my first time going to this location. She has such a bubbly personality and I'm so happy with my result! I hadn't cut my hair in 3+ years so I was nervous. I showed her a pic of the direction I wanted it to go and she gave her own twist on it! She constantly asked if I was happy with it or if she could any changes! The woman at front desk was also very polite, ready to help me if I was looking for anything specific. I will definitely be back in the future!

I hate writing this review because everyone I dealt with at Chatters Chinook was super nice, but the results of my dye job here make me feel I need to write this review to warn other people! I went to get my roots touched up and told the hair dresser that I just wanted my roots to match the rest of my hair – I showed him a picture and he just nodded and then started working, didn’t look closely at the image or ever ask to see it again. (I’m a firm believer in trusting hair stylists so I didn’t worry too much about it). He dried my hair, didn’t turned any lights on so I could better see the his work, didn’t hold a mirror so I could see the back asked if I liked the colour and sent me on my way. In the poorly lit salon it looked fine but when I got home I saw that it was super streaky, like 1-2 inch chunky blonde highlights, the colour had bled through the foil so the roots of my hair were a weird bright redish/orange, and when I pulled my hair back to hide that - it already looked like my hair had grown out 3-4 weeks. I called and the salon booked me in with a master stylist to get it fixed. She spent probably 2 hours fixing my hair, and same thing as the end of the first appointment: didn’t turn on any larger lights, didn’t hold a mirror so I could see the back, and sent me on my way (though I didn’t have to pay for this “fixing”) – I learned my lesson and looked quite a bit closer at the salon and it seemed to be fixed though quite a lot more blonde than I was hoping for – but no stripes so I could live with that. Then when I got home and was able to look at it in normal light I realized that my hair is now three different colours. The left side is very light – almost platinum – blonde with no low lights, the right is also very light but with some subtle low lights and the back is a normal shade of blonde with some low lights. My hair is now completely fried, I’m out a few hundred bucks, and I’m stuck wearing headbands for the next few months to cover up my “hair of many colours”.

Ermelinda is such a skilled and fast hairstylist. I love how she does shorter cuts with fine hair like mine. She does better work than some of the more expensive salons I’ve been to, and for a fair price. She can always fit me in. Several of my friends now go to her. This salon is friendly and has great hours.

Had to get a new stylist because my last one poofed on me, and she was incredibly helpful and explained her recommendations and what to expect for maintenance. Overall I always get a good result at Chatters, but the person who ended up doing my hair was above my expectations.

Customer service was good, but they have a ridiculous store policy! They don’t do refund, they give you store credit to come back to them again! I found the product I paid for, was cheaper on another store, so I came to return it, but the story policy didn't give my money! Please don't force people to buy your products if they understood they are happier if they return it!

Always had a good haircut here and I have been helped by three different people. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices.

I absolutely love this location. The staff are friendly and always more than happy to recommend great products. I feel this staff really puts the effort into great customer service. I want to give a shout out for Charles- he is a phenomenal hair dresser. I have loved each haircut I get from him and his suggestions about products and how to use them have given me the ability to try new things with my look. Never would have tried rose gold hair before he introduced me to the Moroccan Oil colour depositing mask- which I cannot say enough good things about. As long as I live in this city, Charles is my hair stylist and I will recommend anyone who asks to go to him. Thanks to everyone there! Keep up the awesome work!

Jessica did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair! I’ve had a lot of trouble getting a good cut with my curly hair in the past so I am glad it was a great experience. The product she used before blow drying kept my hair soft and it still smelled so good even after straightening it! If I ever used a blow dryer, I would have bought it on the spot. Big Thank You to Jessica for making it such a great trip!

I won't be returning, let's just put it that way. I had a long day and wanted to treat myself to a blow out. The stylist was Male and spoke little english (which I initially looked past and didn't see a huge problem with.it would be a little different if I were getting my hair cut though. Yikes.) I specified that I wanted a voluminous curly/wavy blow out. He asked if he could blow it out straight which was the first red flag. I'm no master at hair but even I know the technique for what I was aiming for. When he washed my hair there was no support for my neck and I was already sore from work and I can't even describe to you how uncomfortable and painful it felt. His hair washing technique was sloppy.so much so in fact that he got soapy water all over my face and IN MY EYES. He wiped it off, finished with the wash, and walked over to find products (he didn't seem to know what he was looking for to be honest) he proceeded to start the blow out and (surprise) did the exact opposite of what I asked and blew my hair out pin straight. At the end he went to use the straightener on it to curl it and he didn't seem to grasp the technique of curling with a straightener (I'm sorry but I could have done better at home.why am I paying you to do it if I can literally do it better myself) I had to stop him because I was afraid he would fry my hair. My hair feels like it wasn't rinsed out properly and has a weird residue to boot. Let's just put it this way friends, if I am complaining it was pretty God awful. Won't be returning. *shakes head*

I've been going to see Meredith for over 5 years. She's very skilled at what she does and takes the time to do your hair the right way. I have a ton of hair that was previously boxed dyed black and she got me beautiful blonde highlights within a couple visits which is great! Since then no more box dye and only go see her for whatever I need ~ she's awesome!
