This restaurant is a go to for my family for Italian food for generations. We love it, and offer from here regularly. Such friendly staff, and great atmosphere, the food is amazing!

I love Chianti! I’ve been going to Chianti for years now and the quality remains consistent. Good value for how much pasta you get and there is a big variety of choices. I love the pasta deals they always have— an excellent place to bring family, friends and loved ones.

We went there twice when in Calgary, each time tried different dishes. Very tasty all of them. Absolutely wonderful servers. Thank you to all and especially Melissa. Keep up the amazing job. The manager comes around and asks everyone at each and every table, how the food is. Thank you.

We ordered take out on Friday. Our order was ready really quickly - right on the 20 minutes estimated even though the restaurant was really busy. Food was excellent, hot and fresh even with the commute home.

The Linguini Salute was an absolute stunner. What a unique and delicious dish. We will definitely order again.

Great menu, food, service and value.
If you like Italian food, at a fair price this is the place.
Can be a little loud, but that is the same at any popular restaurant.

Super fresh and delicious pasta. During covid, their pastas are always $10.99. Fantastic Service. Updating to say Kudos to following the COVID restrictions. You WILL need proof of vaccine to sit inside, otherwise their patios are nice and takeout is always fantastic.

I'm giving it 2 stars only because the restaurant has great reviews. However, our experience wasn't as great as other people's. Staff was polite and nice. But the food was awful. The pasta was overcooked, the cream sauce was nothing special. The blue cheese in the raviolis was nowhere to be found. But the cherry on top was that the carbonara spaghetti had the egg cooked inside. This place was highly recommended to us and we understand that probably is an isolated incident. But I don't think we'll eat from here again.

The waiter was high and he came back 5 times asking.g what our order was because he didnt write it down, we ended getting a food before getting the drinks we ordered

Service was garbage constantly waiting on a drink refill. Did not have our table reservation for 7 ready even though it was dead. Then made it seem like an ordeal to get it ready. If you're going to go to a chianti go to the one in crowfoot.

Not happy with meal, Alfredo sauce was sweet Red Sangria was like the taste of Koolaid.yuk not my favorite place.plus they didnt even let u sit before they ask u if you wanted a drink.server was Chris

Waiter was very unattentative. I had to ask for a refill from 3 different people and finally the original waiter brought it out to me. I ordered carbonara and it wasnt cooked properly pieces of egg throughout it and tasted like i was eating greasy bacon n eggs. First time trying this place and definitely wont be back.

Chianti's is always a very nice Donning experience. Their staff are well trained and professional. I love that they offer gluten free options.

Great service. Ordered the portobello mushroom dish in Sriracha sauce. The dish was too spicy even goes me a person of Indian decent.

Will give this place one more try.

Always a great time. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and all at a very reasonable price. We have been going there for years. We will return for sure.

We were very disappointed with the service. We called earlier and made a reservation. When we got there the place was packed solid and we weren't able to get our reserved seating because they overbooked. We weren't the only people in line waiting with reservations.

Great food. I only took a star off because of the horrible service provided by the server. If you see a girl with long black ponytail as the waitress, it’s better off leaving that day. The waitress gave us the wrong order and then yelled at us when we asked for our correct food.

Relaxed casual atmosphere with great service and an amazing pasta list. The servers are fun and engaging with a great knowledge of the dishes they offer. If you are looking for pasta this is the place, the selection list is long with a great variety.

The best pasta in town. The pasta deals are soooo worth it. The value for what you get is unbeatable. Not to mention the very kind employees there. Always greeted with a smile.

Quality had dropped over the years, sad but true.
I have been going here for most of my life my family likes to have birthday dinners here, but i think im not going to do that any more until things improve.
The pandemic has been tough but even before that the quality of the food hasn't been there, food doesn't taste fresh and chefs obviously don't care or pay attention to the food, tonight i got our family order and about 11 muscles (well over half) were completely closed.

When i called got my answer as to why, the employee who answered the phone said "oh im sorry, the muscles are frozen. " this answered my questions, now the management or owner that reads this your first reaction is to go after that employee with the ol "why would you say that!? "
don't do that, your employee basically addressed every issue with your establishment and if your mad about it you know its wrong and you should address it.

This location is literally right in front of a seafood store, most places have live muscles, you charge a top notch price for your food so in my opinion you should use at least half way decent ingredients, not just a bunch of frozen swill.secondly its a bunch of frozen swill fine.but at least care about the easy preparation of that, who ever through that slop in the to-go containers noticed half were closed, they knew they were bad and sent it anyways.the worst part is i know you guys used to use red seal chefs, if you still do it makes it way worse.

Anyways i know thats going to read as harsh but fix your food, i don't want this place to suck i want it to be awesome like it used to be, like i remember it being.please when you make it awesome again reply to this i would love to return and change this review to the one i would rather have left in the first place.

Haven't been to Chaintis since early 2000s, had nostalgia and went to check it out again.

Got dealt a sub par waiter who couldn't be bothered to tell us about the specials, he was terse and quick to walk away. However, we did over hear the specials from a waiter who cared about his job at a different table.

I ordered an Italian spritzer to start with and it was terrible and super water down. I had one sip and left it. A waiter who cared would have asked if everything was ok with my drink but ours was rather apathetic.

My husband ordered spaghetti carbonara which was moderately tasteless with large nuggets of egg white that was carelessly blended in.

I ordered midetereana ravioli which was tasty despite the visual when it debuted on our table. Looked like boiled ravioli with some limp veggies on top.

Don't think I'll experience this nostalgia again.

Food was delicious but even better was the service our waiter was excellent and had a great sense of humor.

Get place with amazing food. The best part about this place is their service is fast so you don’t have to sit a while waiting for your food.

A bit of cutbacks at this place. No unlimited bread or oil. Just one serving per a table. Pasta is still good but it's definitely gone up in price from before. Overall still a good place for a quick lunch or nice dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great service and delicious food! They were patient with us as we had my 1 year old and dad who were a bit slow at eating but kept checking in on us to make sure everything was good and our drinks (waters) were filled. Will be back again!

I have been a customer at this restaurant for awhile and have not had a single bad experience since today. The server I had was not friendly, did not introduce herself, got my orders wrong and made me feel bad for it. When she brought the correct order, she just put it on the table and didn’t bother to come check on me after. The water was not refilled ever, overall a bad experience.

Decent food and good prices but when you place an order at 2pm and ask for it to be ready at 6pm and then have to wait 20 minutes while 10+ orders come out that were ordered less than 25 mins before mine - doesn’t make me wanna order again.

Love the salmon curry pasta, (i dont think i have the name right)
This place was great and fast. I was in and out of there in under 30 minutes one time for supper. Want to go back soon!

We ordered the Salmone yesterday for pick-up, when we arrived home, it is very evident that the salmon was cut into half, the part where is cut was made is too fresh and not even by a knife but by using two hands, i am very upset.

One of my favourite restaurants in all of Calgary. My family has gotten amazing service and delicious food every time we've gone for years. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for great Italian food.

The food is excellent! I do eat meat but its very sad to see veil on the menu. I belive its 2021 and we should be getting past this. I hope this restaurant adjusts to become more ethical by taking veil off the menu. If this ever happens I will be editing this to a five star review and will be going to this resturaunt regularly!

Thank you so much for going above and beyond to assist with my grandpa who is in a wheelchair (holding the door open, placing his feet on the foot plates). The food was also delicious and our server was very friendly and helpful.

Usually love it here, was going to come for a special occasion however I called to place a reservation and someone answered just to put me on hold before I even finished my sentence. I then waited for almost 25 minutes, and no one picked up. I agree with most reviews saying both staff and management care more about making a buck than to attend to their customers. Very disappointing but I will find somewhere to eat that will answer the phone.

They know how to look after thier customers. If there is an issue they make it right and go beyond. Great job Chianti!

Used to have all you can eat bread. Now it's one bread stick per customer and then $2 for every 2 after. Food is still good but the unlimited bread used to be a attraction feature and the bread I find is lesser quality.

This is a great place for a casual meal or a date. Pasta Frenzy Day's (Sun, Mon, Tues) are very popular and offer great food for vaule. The food and service are allways good. Been coming here for years. Always leave satisfied and with a full belly. Would recommend you check them out.

The food is good ahs the people there usually do a great job. If there's an issue they apologize and try to make it right. This sounds standard but, unfortunately the are a lot of restaurants who don't care.

This is a great place to eat gluten free. So many different options to choose from. Their house salad dressing is the bomb. I always get the Modigliani and I am never disappointed.

We were told there was a 20 minute wait. 15 minutes in I checked to see where we were on the wait list, and we were 3 in. Knowing our name was coming up, I was watching the host station. 35 minutes in I realized that people who arrived after us had been seated. I went to ask why and my name had been crossed off. He said oh I walked up an down looking for you (which is not true, we were watching the whole, and he said it in such a manner that it was our fault for not hearing him). It was handled incredibly poorly, so we left.

They use blank printer paper to track seating, maybe using lined paper would help keep them organized. Very dissatisfied, not worth the cheap pasta.

Pretty good place for some inexpensive pasta. Have been going here for a long time. Have noticed the quality slip a little after the renovation.

My wife and I have frequented the chiantis franchise for years. Tonight I decided I wanted to try something different, and really wanted to try the supremo pasta (salmon, scallops and a curry Parmesan sauce) however I’ve never really eaten curry before. So, I asked the waitress if I could try a sample of the sauce. Perplexed she said it would be up to the kitchen but she would go ask. She then came back and said no. That she asked her manager and he refused. So, we asked to speak with him. He came over, and we asked why we couldn’t try a sample. He stated it was because all of the sauces were made to order and it would be too difficult to make such a small portion of the sauce just for a sample. I then stated that I didn’t want to order a food with a sauce I didn’t like. His response was “ well that’s what you get when you go out to eat”. I was baffled! I then stated well if I don’t like it I’ll be sending it back, and he said it doesn’t matter cause I’d be paying for it regardless. This was our tipping point. To get the process moving we gave up.my wife ordered a starter Caesar and her pasta dish, and I ordered my pasta, changing the sauce to the normal Parmesan sauce as to not be disappointed. She didn’t even ask if I wanted a starter Caesar, and once I realized I didn’t ask for a salad the server was already walking out with my wife’s salad AND our two pasta dishes.at the same time. They placed two pasta dishes in front of us, a different server this time, not even asking who’s food was who’s.and when she pointed out her salad was supposed to be first he elected to try to take our Pasta dishes back to the heater where they would stay warm. I was done at this point. It was then my wife and I decided this place had no interest in making our experience pleasant, so we paid for our drink and drove straight to chiantis on 32nd. Also, when I asked the manager for our tab without staying for our meal.he never even asked us why.or how he could help our experience be better. I will never be back there again, I’ll drive the extra time to 32nd where the service is impeccable.

It was a dark and mildly snowy evening and so a good night for Italian. Yes, we had Italian yesterday but today is another day. We arrived around 1900 hrs and the restaurant was packed. However we were seated right away and within minutes we were asked about our drinks orders.

We passed on appetizers in hopes of having room for dessert.

The rolls came and they were very hot to the touch which meant the butter melted quickly. They were nice, so much so that we could not save them for the main meal.

For the main course I had the Scaloppine Portabello which as the name implies was veal medallions with portobello mushrooms. It included prosciutto ham, roasted red peppers, brandy & demi-glaze sauce. My wife had the Lasagna al Forno with a very nice béchamel cream sauce.

We forced ourselves to have dessert. My wife had the red velvet cake and she liked it; the cake and icing were not too sweet and very moist. I went with vanilla ice cream and it was a nice ice cream.

Service was certainly swift but friendly. My wife's diet Pepsi was promptly refilled and so was my water. The maître d'hôtel was always walking around the restaurant to see if everything was “ok”.

The bottom line is that we await our next trip to Calgary to return to this restaurant.

My Fiance and I have been going to Chiantis for years, its always been our date night tradition. Great food at an incredibly great price. We moved away from Calgary and sadly have been looking for a substitute since. As you can see by my other reviews we have tried other places with varying success. Recently we returned to Calgary for a short visit, we went to Chiantis again and to our surprise the experience was even better.

There is something intrinsically romantic about French and Italian cuisine and if prepared right, can turn a social evening into a meaningful and memorable one. The restaurant staff were welcoming as always, the decor is modern, with an avant garde feel to it but is still cosy and comfortable.

The garlic butter escargot was delicious especially when enjoyed alongside the freshly baked table bread. For our main course I had the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and my fiance had the prosciutto ham alfredo tossed in a wine cream sauce. Both dishes were topped with a healthy dusting of fresh parmesan and were nothing short of exemplary. Now, as a patron that goes out of his way to thank and show appreciation for a well prepared meal, on this occasion I insisted on thanking the kitchen staff personally.

Truly a memorable dinner at a restaurant that I highly recommend, especially when you're in the mood for more than everyday convenience food but not in the mood to drop unreasonable money for it.

At first it didnt seem the greatest since it was kinda hidden but the food was Excellent food and the service was amazing! Very reasonable price for the amount of food you get! I really suggest this place to anyone who loves pasta!

Simply put, there is enormous room for improvement at this location!
1) The phone rings quite loudly on the side where everyone eats, should be in the back where it does not disturb.
2) was freezing cold, we were not the only ones, people an ear shot away could also feel considerably cold
3) the bread was extremely dry in comparison to fresh with olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the 32nd ave location
4) service was lacking, forgot our napkins and bread

The food may have been the saving grace, however the N. E 32nd ave location is absolute leaps and bounds ahead of this location!
If you’re look for great food plus the rest of the experience, head there! It’s worth the extra drive!

Good place to come for reasonably priced pasta (on Sunday/Mondays/Tuesdays). The pasta options are numerous and the food is good. The mista salad starter portion is a decent size. Good family friendly spot. They can substitute proteins and types of pasta on any given selection which is nice.

First and last visit to this location. Really disappointed that this location doesn't offer fresh baked bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, instead it is reheated buns with cafeteria style butter packets. No freshly ground cheese on my pasta either. Both of these are standard fare at the other Calgary locations, which are where I'll be going to get my pasta cravings satisfied from now on. Pasta sauces were very sweet, to the point of tasting like candy, not good at all.

Its usually super busy and you will need a reservation. Make it for 6: 45 pm or later to avoid feeling unwelcome after you entree and a chance to enjoy your desert without being rushed out so they can turn you table around for second seating. That being said the service and staff never disappoints and the food is quality an consistent time and time again

Service is prompt. Food selections are wide. The pastas are delicious. Definitely go on Tuesdays when all pastas are $10.

Growing up in Calgary we used to go here all the time but I hadn't been back in years. I took my grandmother here for lunch the other day and although the food was amazing, as it always has been, the experience wasn't. The service was okay. The one thing I did notice was the owner? Or manager? Talking loudly at the bar in a quiet restaurant. I'm not sure if they don't have an office to have private conversations in or they don't feel it's disruptive, but it was. The same folks didn't make an effort to make us feel very welcome. The service wasn't bad as we were given everything we ask for. But some enthusiasm and excitement for us to be there and spend our hard-earned dollars would have been great! The restaurant had been renovated since my last visit and looked amazing! Now only if the service and experience could be bumped up, I would give this place a 5 out of 5.

This restaurant was pretty average. The food was not fantastic and the tables were haphazardly cleaned. We sat on the patio and there was bird poop on one of our chairs. It was not fresh so should've been caught by the wait staff.

We will likely not be back. There are too many great places in Calgary

The food here is always good, no matter what you get, and is reasonably priced. Its a bit crowded though, with the tables very close together.

I do like Italian food but this place is ok not terribly bad but nothing amazing either. Our dishes were way too salty or too saucy.
