I used to go to the one in willow park location weekly, but this one was just not good. The seating was really crammed and the atmosphere was the first thing that caught me off guard. I've also been to the Sundridge location which has nice atmosphere also, I don't know why this one has such bad vibes. The server was scowling, another issue I noticed right away, no smile, and amongst watching for the next while, she was rudely glaring at everyone, no happiness at all. For a hostess? The service was not great, but they were busy, but I had made a reservation so that was disappointing. The food was not good either. I have eaten at the willow park location A LOT so I was expecting similar quality and quantity but neither of those factors could compare. The price was outrageous considering is was $7.99 or $8.99 for years, now $13.99 a short time later is just crazy. Really disappointed overall, and coming from out of the city now, I know we will not be back.
They have pasta for $14 daily! Such a good deal and the portion size is very good. The dining area really gives you a home comfort feeling. Would definitely come here again
Wow has this place gone downhill. The first 2 gentleman that gave us our drinks and starters were great the lady serving us afterward was awful. Immediately came in with a bad attitude, and stayed like that the rest of the night. Sorry you had to do your job. Enjoy your $0 tip.
Love the pasta here. My favourite is the Alla Con Chipotle. You could inject me with this and I would honestly love it.
Think it might’ve been a one time thing but one of the pastas we got was overcooked and almost soggy. The rest were fine which leads me to believe it was because we were there in a group of 6 and they wanted to get our pastas out at around the same time.
We arrived at this restaurant in the early afternoon, and there were many tables available. A server greeted us and told us she would be a few minutes before she could seat us. Despite a number of empty tables our party waited to be seated for over 10 minutes. The waitress who initially greeted us walked past us several times without acknowledging us, and another waiter also passed us without saying anything to us. Finally what we think was a manager (wearing a blue button up rather than the black shirts worn by the serving staff) looked on his compute for several minutes before approaching us and asking "how many. " There was no sorry for the wait, or let me grab you a table nothing. Once we were seated the same gentleman put waters on our table, without uttering a word. Nobody came to take our order and we left without placing an order.
I ordered Fettuccine alfredo with a side Caesar salad to start.
Mom ordered fettuccine supremo and asked for it without Curry. Somehow Mom's order got mixed up and was served with curry. We brought this to their attention right away, and they handled it like professionals.
They apologized, took the original order back. Prepared a new one, and served it promptly.
Both meals were absolutely amazing. My salad was fantastic as well.
The bread with oil and vinegar to start the meal was fresh and delicious.
The people are quite nice and been there many times. However sometimes we get forgotten a little bit, no refills, takes a while to pay. Food is always good and fair priced. Like to support local and these folks support the community which is nice.
As much the Italian culture can be promoted at this restaurant, there was nothing Italian about it other than the flags. It’s evident the owner/menu creator isn’t Italian. The Sicilian dish isn’t Sicilian style ingredients (I’m Sicilian so I would know), and there’s chipotle dishes which is Spanish, the large variety suggests it’s more a Canadian restaurant. A basic bolognese Spaghetti was ordered and it tasted awful for such a simple dish. The pasta was dry and the sauce that tasted store bought was dumped on top and not properly mixed with the pasta. When boiling your pastas please add olive oil and salt, flavour is meant to be your secret ingredient (Nonna’s would be disappointed). I understand it’s cheap which is enticing but you get what you pay for. It’s $13 for every pasta on their menu all day prompted as a special which just shows how cheap the ingredients actually are (think about the seafood). Anyways, you may enjoy their food but this is my experience. The staff were lovely so I’ll give them that.
We love the atmosphere and the great service. Food is pretty fabulous. Wish there was more Vegan options. We come two to three times a year with 9-10 ladies and enjoy it very much.
I had ordered the curry crab, mango Fettuccine.it was cold and one big lump of pasta.they did take it away and 5 minutes later I was served a juicer dish but it only had 4 pieces of mango and no crab.so again a little disappointed. My companions all enjoyed their meals and our server treated us to a free dessert.
The food was very tasty! Bread to start and then a healthy sized entree portion was plenty to satisfy. The service was great with friendly staff. The restaurant is a family friendly place. Tables are somewhat close together but they are often all full with customers. Can't beat the price! Great value!
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Food is affordable, yet always wonderful. We used to have not so great experiences with one grumpy server a while back but the new people are so friendly and welcoming. The child menu is absolutely fantastic and the prices are really hard to beat. I would pick this place a million times over Boston pizza, Dennis or anything like that for a family meal. My favourite dishes are the du chef and the Roberto something, both with smoked salmon. Our 3yo child was in love with his pasta, got a large cup of milk and then the most amazing ice cream as dessert (with chunky raspberry sauce). The regular sized dessert that my husband and I picked to share was also delicious (white chocolate ice cream covered by a thin crust of white chocolate with the most amazing raspberry filling - as constructive criticism, both my husband and I thought the raspberry part could be larger than the tiny central piece). Patio sitting is wonderful for families as the atmosphere is relaxed and gives lots for the kids to see. What a great place. As another constructive criticism, we waited quite a long time to have our order taken and then another 40 minutes for food. The place was crazy busy though and we were happy with salads+bread+wine. Whoever is running this place is doing a wonderful job!
Its old. But its still my favorite cheap pasta place in the NW. Been going to chiantis crow foot for 15 yrs now. Still the same great food. Pasta night for 10 bucks u cant beat. Update now 13 bucks. And still old school good for a Tuesday's night i dont want to cook night. And very kid friendly which was great.
