Such an amazing place! The fried chicken was excellent, the fries were pretty damn good, the potato salad and gravy were fantastic, but the corn fritters were unreal. Couldn’t suggest it more!

The supervisor (Gina) at chicken on the way is excellent. Top tier quality customer care. Give that woman a raise!

I've been to a few franchise locations and didn't like them. Got to get it from the original location.

Amazing atmosphere. Easy takeout option. Their cashier Munem was super nice and friendly. Food quality is amazing and comes at the best price in town. Definitely recommend for chickens.

Fantastic experience here! Thick cut fries were really good and the chicken was hot, moist and despite not being able to put sauce on it like you can at other friend chicken stores it was still very flavourful! It went really well with their gravy. The fellows who closed the store tonight were a great duo and provided excellent service! Highly recommend this for a late night snack!

The staff was AMAZING.taking the order, then going into the back to cook the order. Back to the front of house to wrap and hand over the goods! All with a kind smile and thanks. God Bless workers like that.

Edit: they've since improved and very rarely do I get any dried-out chicken pieces. Also, try their fish, it's probably better than the chicken.

I love fried chicken and Chicken On The Way has decent chicken.when you go at certain times. When you don't visit at the right time, you get chicken that has been sitting for awhile and dried out. Chicken On The Way isn't gourmet chicken by any means (visit Cluck N Cleaver if that's what you're looking for), but it's great for what it's meant to be - a quick takeout meal with chicken that has a basic crispy batter and the right amount of grease. If they were consistent with this for every meal, then they would be a great chicken destination.

OMG, I remember this place 30 years ago.and guess what? Same GREAT Chicken, fries and corn fritters. Oh and the gravy! Wow.you have a hunger for awesome chicken.this IS the place to go!?

Really disappointed. Bought a large chicken meal with fritters and fries only for the chicken and fritters to taste like bad oil. The whole meal had the taste of old oil and was so unappetizing I couldn't bring myself to eat it. I drive past all the time and really had high hopes for the place. Such a waste of money.

Food is awesome! I like it much better than KFC! The wait unfortunately is long but what can you do if the food is good and they have one place? !

Staff is so friendly

It's take out only. Good home made fries, good prices. Good Chicken, good fish and chips. Prices have gone up a couple bucks since last year but still cheaper than others or on par.
I prefer over the kernel tho.

Do not go to chicken on the way 17th Ave SE. If you order after busy hours you will get overcooked dried out chicken and soggy fries that have been sitting around for a while. When your food is ready in one minute, be leary of what they're giving you. Very disappointing when you're hungry and anticipating juicy chicken. Complete failure on two items.

The staff were great to chat with, the food was awesome. We each got the special, it was 3 pieces, a corn fritter, fries and gravy (for $10!). It was sooooo much food! The chicken is top notch, and the fries and corn fritter were delicious! You guys are amazing, and I’ll keep coming here when ever I come from Saskatoon. Some dill dip for the fries would’ve been perfection, but I wasn’t home… thanks Chicken on the Way! I might buy some to freeze at home and enjoy from Saskatoon and maybe make my friends fiend for the fowl!

I went in to the Kensington location @3pm on April 26th 2023. I ordered three chicken strips and three corn fritters. The elderly woman who was servicing me openly coughed in my bag of corn fritters right in front of me and then calls me a liar when confronted about it. Management claims to have seen nothing on their cameras as far as her coughing on my food to which I say is a flat out lie. The manager was the one who told me her employee has COPD, and anyone who knows anybody with COPD knows they cough constantly, which her employee was doing the entire time I was there (without covering her mouth) so there's absolutely no way she didn't see her coughing on the video footage.
If you don't mind having your food coughed on by unhygienic employees by all means eat here but if you value your health stay as far away from this location as possible.

An absolute GEM. Chicken On The Way is a great little place. Its a secret that isn't such a secret serving "never been frozen Chicken" for as long as I can remember them opening their doors to the public. The Staff are hardworking friendly and efficient. They spend the time helping you order where necessary and communicate well if their cooking up some new fries if it will take a minute or two longer. The Larger iconic Chicken/Rooster (up for a debate.lol) statue that welcomes clients is a comforting site knowing that this establishment is still there servicing clients after all these years without fail. The food is tasty and great.love love the corn fritters. On that note. I just celebrated my birthday and stopped by to get a FREE Two Chicken snack pack that had fries and a Corn Fritter included. All I had to do was show my proof of Birthdate and BAM I received my bag of goodies! No need to register this or download that APP. No hassles or questionnaires.just a feeling of genuine appreciation that you were a client of theirs. I invite you to stop by.theres parking out front (personal parking lot) for clients to use for free. I like the Kensington location as its the "OG" for me. Thanks for reading my two cents.

Chicken on the way has great food, just order it online, don't bother going to the location on Kensington. It's old and run down, as well as being dirty and the staff look and act depressed.

Not the greasy deep fried chicken I remember from decades past, which is a good thing, but I'm disappointed there's no corn kernels in the corn fritters anymore.

This restaurant always does free meals to veterans on Remembrance Day. Always excellent food
