The 45 days DRY AGED CUT 25oz steak is definitely my no. 1 here in Banff. The server recommended Medium rare which is perfect. It’s all pink and no blood.

(July 4th 2023) If I were to rate this restaurant based on service, atmosphere and scenery, it would get a 5/5 rating. Great service and our waiter was top-notch! When dining at a high-end steak house and paying in excess of $175/person, you expect to get an amazing quality steak that is cooked to perfection. We ordered 2 x Wagyu tenderloins and requested to be prepared to a Medium (were asking for slightly more than medium Rare) what we got was 2 baseball tenderloin’s that resembled something entering the earth’s atmosphere and what didn’t burn up upon entry landed on our plates. They were totally overcooked to a Well done+ dried out only centers slightly juicy. I question whether it was a Wagyu or just a standard tenderloin as it should not dry out that much if it had typical Wagyu marbling. The other steak (s) were cooked within exception but were on the more well-done side than expected. It was not over-busy, so I am not sure if the chef was off his game that night or got distracted? Could have gone to a chain steakhouse for half the cost and got better quality steak! The bathroom could use a modern update as it was dingy with flickering burnt-out lights and the feel of a high school bathroom. Overall our high expectations were let down only by the steak, everything else was great.

Got the 30oz cowboy cut with the broccolini and carrots. Meat was made medium and it was pretty good. I feel like the sides were way too big for two ppl but we managed to eat at much as we could. But the main dish was the mudpie bomb ice cream cake! Don’t skip on this dessert.

The point of my review is to inform not criticize: Cowboy is a very fatty cut. This steak was not trimmed at all. It is literally 35% fat. They told us that this is how it’s supposed to be. I’ve had many steaks in many cities, and never saw this much fat. If you like fat this cut is for you

Food, drinks and service are outstanding every time I go there. One of the better places to actually get Alberta beef. Well done western/mountain theme, great views too.

On the high end for price but what isn't in Banff. Waiter Tommy was fantastic and the food was Super Fantastic. Steak was Excellent and Caesar salad made at the table was fun for the kids and also super yummy! Glad we stopped by.

I love this place so much. The food was amazing and my kids really enjoyed it too. The food was a little bit pricy but my kids say it was worth it. The service was very good and I would recommend this restaurant. The place looked very good and it was big. It had 3 floors and that’s very good for viewing Banff downtown.

We’ve been here twice in the past for our anniversary. Once in 2018, last year in 2021 while on vacation in Banff. It’s been an amazing meal each time and worth every penny.

This place came highly recommended and apparently is good, however our experience we want to forget about as it was not good. Waiter at our table was not up to standard and needs further training, we complained about the service and cold food to the manager, whom is in our opinion in the wrong job. It was pretty poor to say the least, they were advised at booking it was our 30th wedding anniversary meal, that seemed to make no difference whatsoever. Would certainly go elsewhere in future our night was ruined because of poor service and cold food, and complaints not heeded to.

In all honesty, wasn’t worth the money. Paid almost 250 for the Tomahawk and 2 sides. The steak was 40% fat so there wasn’t much meat left (not worth the price in my opinion). The sides were ok, nothing too special. A small glass of average wine for 20 bucks. The food was ok, service was standard, but I can’t justify visiting again.

Food was fine but the service made all the difference. If it's Alberta beef that you're after you'll be well-taken care of here!

Fantastic servers, top notch food and creative cocktails to be had at Chucks! If you get there early you can ask to be seated on the patio (weather cooperating in the summer months) … the 360 mountain view from the rooftop patio is stunning, and adds something beyond compare. Thanks for the great evening!

Sons 18th Birthday treat whilst visiting Banff waiter very knowledgable and gave great recommendations so we opted for several cuts of steak on a serving platter had the most amazing ceaser salad made table side all staff friendly polite never felt hurried great buzz in restaurant the place to go if you want the best steak and great staff highly recommend to anyone to at least try once whilst in Banff will definitely go back if we ever get the chance.

I ordered the taste of Alberta with pan fried mushroom and potato gratin, 2 glasses of Cabernet sauvignon, Caramel cheese cake and Milk'n honey. I asked for medium cooked steak and it cooked perfectly, but all three chunks of steaks had lots of muscles in them, so it was very chewy. Me and mom had no choice to spit them out. Potato gratin tasted very salty. Pan fired mushroom was delicious. Server was friendly and attentive. Wine and dessert were good. Ask for the window seats when you book the table, then you can enjoy food in mountain view.

As a vegan I was pretty nervous to dine at Chuck’s but my family were visiting from Australia and I knew they’d love it there, so we gave it a try. I was blown away by my cauliflower steak, with the crispy rice! O M G yum! The broccolini and garlic thyme fries too, the Niçoise salad (with no egg) - all divine. My dad and stepmom absolutely loved their mains too. Jess ticked all the boxes with her delicious recommendations, and her service was exceptional. It didn’t have an overpowering smell in the restaurant either which I anticipated to maybe be the case. I would totally come back again and again!

The normal one is the best amount their normal, dry aged, wagyu.

They're definitely not in the same cook level, one is rare one is medium to well done

They tell me wagyu is grade 9 from Albert. I am wondering since when people start to name a beef wagyu just because they want.

I am sure if Ignore the label, no one can tell the difference between 3 piece.

Avoid this place please.

Worst steak I’ve ever had. I wish time machines exist, I’d go back and get the small fortune I paid them back.

Visited this restaurant during our small vacation in Banff. Wanted to try Alberta beef since it's talked all over and significantly better than what we have in Toronto. Delicious food, great service and great rooftop as well.

Our waiter was friendly and professional, but the steaks.honestly the most disappointed resto in banff, probably cause we had such high expectations.we ordered the taste of alberta but it doesn't taste alberta and tenderness is also lacking.maybe we should try the ribeye next time.the sides (mushroom and asparagus) were actually pretty good.just for comparison, we went to Vintage steakhouse in calgary the week after and the steaks tasted much more alberta:).

As a BBQ lover I can only say this place is great. I'd just recommend to be aware of the temperature if you are planning to dine on the rooftop, as it can be very hot during summer. The food is great, the staff is quite nice and the steak was cooked to perfection.

I recommend you not to visit this place. They said seats are fully booked but later I found that there are many empty seats. I don’t know why they did that. The waitress was actually kind and nice. But overall, It was unpleasant experience.

Lovely steak house. View was so beautiful. Nice mountain and sunset. Also steaks were wonderful! I ordered 3 meals. Steak frites, burger and prime rib. All of things are very delicious and so good! And also staffs are very kind and have nice manner!

Delicious food and amazing staff! Our waiter explained the menu with such detail and dedication I wanted to order the entire menu. His recommendation with drinks were also on point. Forgot his name but he was born and raised here in banff and very proud of it!

We stopped over for steak on our first day at Banff. The waiters and waitresses were extremely polite and real. The service was impeccable.

We ended up ordering their 7oz tasting of steak menu (3 kinds of steaks) ; and we thought that be good for us three (two adults and a first grade) but the meat ended up being a bit too chewy for us. When we told that to the waitress, she offered to switch our steak to something else, also offering to serve us new two side dishes hot again (which came with the tasting menu). We were so pleasantly surprised by this hospitality and so we decided to switch to tenderloin (8oz)

We expected the bill to have the tasting
menu price (159CAD) but they just charged us for the tenderloin instead; which was cheaper! We were so so happy and surprised. Asked why, they said, “they just want the customer to be totally happy and satisfied! ” I highly recommend it to people looking for steak. Steak is juicy, and tasty. The sides are great. Thanks so much for giving us a one of a kind memorable banff experience!

Please go to Chuck's if able! (Don't let the price tag scare you, it is 100% worth it).

We had a phenomenal time there and the experience was fantastic (from atmosphere to service, and very importantly the food!). We can't wait to visit there again next time we are in Banff.

If you're tired of the over-rated Grizzly House, Chuck's Steakhouse is the place to go. Good service and even better food. It's bit pricey but it's worth it. Highly recommended for your next visit to Banff.

Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was absolutely incredible! Our server was Cam and to say he was amazing is an understatement. He gave us appropriate insight on each meal, answered our questions perfectly, met any accommodations we asked for, and made us feel so welcome. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone and I’m so thankful we had Cam to help us that night!

Food and drinks here are amazing. We came back 2 nights later to eat here again. The steaks are wonderful and the ceaser salad is made table side and is the Best I have ever had. Our server Steve made the most amazing Cesar salad!

The place is very nice. The waiter was terrible, she didn’t introduce herself by name, rushed and pushed me to decide about a cocktail when the one I wanted wasn’t available, didn’t explain anything about the meats or menu. The meats was okay, but not worth the price. Very, very disappointed.

Good service, subpar steak, high priced. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here. Greeted with complimentary champagne, seated at a nice booth with a decent mountainside view. Had the Taste of Alberta sampler and found the meat sinewy, hard to cut and a little on the tough side. Maybe we got a bad knife but had to saw through all 3 cuts. Feel the cost did not line up with the product.

This restaurant will tell you have to wait in a specific menu but make you wait a lot longer to other food than the said specific menu and dont worry the server on this restaurant will not even apologize to you as you are nothing to them

I had trouble making reservations online for it was a busy long weekend Sunday night in Banff and I had tried to call and leave a message but unfortunately never heard back. My husband and I decided to walk in and was able to get seats outside. Outside you get great views of the mountain.

Our server Cam was AMAZING! Loved his personality and recommendations. He was very personable and funny. Our food was also delicious, flavourful and filling. Would eat here again

Ordered the tasting menu with 3 different beef stakes. Prime rib was okay but cold. The other two (wagyu and grassfeed) were really salty. Tried to call the server 3 times but was not paying attention for a while. A hall manager was walking by and was able to tell him that the food was too salty. They replaced the stakes with new one. They brought all three back. But the wait time killed our appetite. We weren’t able to finish most of it.

Super cozy and nice place for a dinner. The steak was high quality Alberta beef ribeye. Great service with a professional and friendly staff. The prices are on the higher end for sure (~$70 for 16oz steak) but it was delicious. Will definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Banff

This was a wedding dinner small party, the food was excellent ant the service was next to none especially our server Jess everything was perfect Food was on time drinks were good. Cannot say one bad thing about this place.highly recommend this eatery
