What an absolute joke. $32 for a tender strip meal & a wrap meal (Tex wrap=chicken wrap with mayo lol) …fist full of fries and 2 medium sized brown waters. Chicken itself is bland. Save your money, go somewhere that doesn’t overcharge for mediocre product. Prime example of “shrinkflation”
I have been here a few times this summer. On my last excursion about a week ago, I also ordered the onion rings to go with the chicken. I had to leave and by the time I got home the rings were cold. BUT GOOD!
Nice spot. Friendly staff. Very clean inside. It was a bit busy with students during lunch but that did not slow the food down. My food was ready before I even finished filling my pop. Chicken tenders are always great. If your looking for tasty food, ready quick, stop in.
Went there yesterday to order for a 16 pc family meal, they gave me only 13 pc. Finding it too late to come back so i made a phone call staff are not so helpful they can’t do a certain ways for their mistake. They don’t check big orders, they don’t compensate. I could understand if this happens for the first time but this is the third times for wrong order, It is not okay, not acceptable at all. Church’s chickens food quality is good but the service is totally bad! Your losing a lot.of costumer.
This was the most flavorless chicken I have ever eaten. We ordered chicken fingers and a 3 piece meal. The breading on both was so pale it was almost white. I don't think they use any spices whatsoever. Will definitely not be eating here again. Don't waste your money.
Came into have a nice dinner, service was excellent and not slow. I ordered chicken tenders and Mexicana chicken burgers. The tenders were delicious and the burgers weren’t too crunchy so I could actually eat the chicken and not just breading like other fried chicken places do.
Was not a fan. Chicken was a bit flavorless. Rated a few stars because food was fresh, hot and crispy. Mashed potatoes were good. Biscuit was a bit dry.
Its ok. Very flavourless. I got the BBQ chicken sandwich and the only thing with flavour was the BBQ sauce. The chicken is real chicken which I liked, but the batter I don’t think has any spices at all! Popeys tastes WAY better, however Popeys chicken usually gives me a stomach ache where as this did not. It definitely didn’t fill me up and left me feeling blah from no flavour. The mashed potatoes just taste like instant potatoes and I was really disappointed. Again, Popeys mashed are WAY better. 3 stars for the real chicken.
Service is just horrible now. Went in couple weeks ago I think girls name was khushi told her there isn't enough gravy in my poutine she started giving me attitude, first you make a mistake and then get upset at the customer bcuz he confronted you. I dont get it. Went last week again poutine container has changed the 3rd time with frys squished tasted gross. They are charging extra for it but yet quality and service is just not there anymore.i left my number for management to reach out to me they did not even bother returning my call.
Ordered a sandwich and waited about 25mins for it then they took it back from me because it wasnt my order. 3 people working here its not even busy and no orders are still coming out of the chicken. Domt wanna judge but i did also work in several food chains but your management in this loc seemed very poor
I ordered a chicken sandwich. The sandwich was pink inside. When I called the store, the lady said the fryers are in timers so that wasn't possible. I threw the sandwich away. I really liked church's, sadly I will never eat at a church' again.
Church's Chicken is one of our go-to places for fried chicken. We ordered once during a busy time, and although we were told the wait would be a little long, we decided to still go with it. I stuck around, and I was quite pleased with the service that was given by the taller gentleman working the front counter! Maintained good conversation with me, made me feel like we've known each other for a while (even though we've never met). Before I knew it, the chicken was ready and my family and I were able to go home and enjoy a fresh hot meal from Church's. Kudos to the quality and service!
We decided to give this place a second try (first time was meh, it lacks flavor) and we probably won't be going back. The chicken was wet this time round. Not like greasy, but like wet (?) and it was rubbery, I couldn't even eat it. We had to bake the chicken for longer at home. The chicken is mediocre at best. They don't really have any seasoning at all. The fries are alright. Probably the best thing about this place is the biscuits. Sorry, but you guys need to cook the chicken a little better and add some seasoning to it.
Employee was nice and friendly. However, incompetent. Placed an order for 8 pieces chicken, asking for all dark meat. Upon payment, I confirmed to be all dark meat. When I got home, 4-5 pieces were chicken breasts. Last time I checked chicken breasts are white meat, not dark meat. I asked for all dark meat two times and still got half the order in chicken breasts. I trusted that the employee knows what dark meat means, so I was not rude opening the box of chicken pieces to confirm. But from now on, I'll open the box of chicken pieces in front of the employee to check. Employees at food places might feel that this would be rude. However, being incompetent like this makes me proceed to opening up the box to confirm in front of the employee. Please don't blame customers being rude doing so, blame the incompetency of the employee causing such action to be performed.
Nothing that blows me away. Staff weren't friendly, but they weren't rude either. Hard to explain. Was late at night, perhaps just ran out of gas. Food quality and variety quite similar to Popeyes, and would still prefer Popeyes myself, overall
Our onion rings were cold. The lettuce is not fresh and ruins the sandwich. The classic chicken sandwich is not all white meat. Bad version of KFC. Disappointed. Sorry I hate to complain. It was very expensive.
Friday, May 7,2021 30 minutes for a 3 piece chicken meal. Placed an order at 8: 55 pm via drive thru. Was informed that spicy chicken would take 20 minutes, changed the plan, ordered regular chicken. Landed at the drive through window around 9: 00pm, was suggested that we need to wait for 7 minutes and the order shall be brought to us. It's 9: 26 pm and no signs of food.
Update A 7 minute wait turned into 30 minutes wait. They need to hire more people.
So me and my family went here after coming back from a roadtrip and the fries looked very depressing and the chicken was mediocre at best. Another thing was that with the half n half spicy n mild I thought it would be kinda spicy but not really but in general there was 1 spicy tender and 2 regular ones so that was kinda diaapointing
Chicken with crispy. Breading on the chicken had a little bit of flavor definitely not spicy but once you got past the breading the chicken itself didn't really have too much flavor. The fries were crinkle cut no seasoning just salt, nothing special. The honey butter biscuits were pretty good. The wait time from ordering to receiving the meal was quite long. Overall my experience was just meh. We tried out this restaurant due to the reviews but I didn't find it a great experience. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and great.
The drive through was very quick and friendly. We ordered just 8 pieces of chicken so we could try it, as we wanted so crunchy fried chicken but didn't want the same old greasy KFC. Unfortunately Church's chicken is tasteless, it had no spicing or flavor. It absolutely had crunch, but that was all, it needed salt, it needed flavor. I was glad it was NOT greasy though. If Church's and KFC ever get together, they could make the best fried chicken out there. They would have KFC flavor and Church's Texas Chicken crunch NO grease fried chicken.
Very impressive service, Rex is very good to talked too for bulk order's and very patient in taking may order's, definitely will go back and order for more, we are 4 hours away from Edmonton and its our first time to try this Church Chicken recommended by my friend, and it didn't disappoint us, very tasty. Thank you again for your awesome service. More Power
Very bad service not paying attention all the time. 5 people working on front and running around but nothing good. Last time did wrong food and this time they give moldy bun.very disappointed every time. For sure not going again.
How anyone can say best Chicken in the city has obviously never tried Fat Burger Chicken Tenders? Blandest chicken, soft coating and completely tasteless! Gravy OK, fries crinkled- average! Nothing had TASTE. Very disappointing.
Went to churches for the first time today December 23,2020 and then around lunchtime after a 20 minute wait behind only one car in the drive-through it was another five minute wait after paying for the meal which was a classic chicken and french fries with a Gingerale the classic chicken was not crunchy and seem to of been cooked 20 minutes earlier It really was just a bland tasting chicken burger with absolutely no crunch at all which churches brags about on their chicken burgers The french fries were also cold and more crunchy than the actual classic chicken burger The PA system for the drive-through is absolutely terrible because it reverbs your voice and it’s so difficult to hear person taking your order My opinion of this location is the first and last time I will ever visit it and/or any other church locations worst drive-through ever and the longest wait ever I had at drive-through Not to mention the terrible meal. Every drive-through on the planet would probably be a better choice than this
It's decent fried chicken but with Popeyes and northern fried chicken, it's not the best. The only saving grace and why I will be returning is that the honey biscuits are a revelation and everyone needs to try them at least once. They were the best part of the meal I ordered.
Church's chicken is probably the best fast food fried chicken I have had. It is similar to popeyyes in terms of breading but it is juicier. The biscuits that they serve with the chicken is much better then pop eyes, they have a sweet taste to them.
The service was a bit slow however even at the drive through.
Myself and three of my friends got really sick after eating the chicken strips here. All times they felt undercooked and the chicken strip was slimy on the inside. I won't ever eat here again and would not recommend it to anybody. Very very disappointing considering the massive hype around this spot.
Chicken was pretty much all I would eat at one point in time. That being said, I've tried many different places and their chicken. Churches so far has been the best chicken for its juciness, tender, but yet so crunchy! OH AND you can't forget to try their crinkle cut crispy fries! And if cheese and gravy complete your fries, I would get the poutine too!
CHURCHES if you're seeing this, I have a proposition to help promote your business. Please get in contact for further information (:
Tried the drive thru, kinda awful how it's set up honestly. Ordered strips, wasn't asked what sause I wanted at all. Asked for honey mustard and never received this place blows
The chicken burger was drowned in mayonnaise to the point the bun was destroyed. The biscuit was flavorless with a dab of honey on top. Fries were just basic McCain crinkle fries and the chicken was bland. This is a dollar store version of popeyes.once and done
First time trying Churchs chicken and is really amazed by the quality and flavour of chicken. Biscuits are the best. Will try their burgers and wraps next time. Definitely recommended
Mexicana burger is really yummy, not that spicy but you can ask to put some extra sauce. Spicy chicken is just perfect. Staff is really nice and cooperative.
Average fried chicken, nothing special. The original recipe is bland, and the spicy is no where near as good as Popeye's. The french fries are crinkle cut but taste like the one's you make at home in the oven from McCain's. The biscuits are very sweet, took one bite and was done with that.
I won't order from Church's Chicken again. It might have Texas in the name but I think they meant to say "Television" Dinner fried Chicken.
Great fried chicken. Taste and quality is comparable to the big hitters such as Popeye's and Jollibees. Definitely recommend everyone to try their honey butter biscuits.
Definitely not going back. I was not impressed with the mashed potato/ gravy. They use instant potatoes not really potato. Potatoes were tasteless and chicken was greasy (too much batter) and costly.
I feel for KFC, who in their right mind would go there? These are the best honey butter biscuits bar none and you have to try the tenders with the spicy jalapeño ranch ohhh and don't forget the bombers!
This fried chicken is the best chicken I had in Edmonton, service is slow but the food is worth it. I like to order the coleslaw, fries and original fried chicken. Also their honey biscuits are amazing!
Chicken is half decent dont even bother ordering the gravy. Straight out of a packet or some half gallon container. Pure garbage but to be expected from a fast food chain
Very rude staff they would give me dirty looks, they didnt give me the biscuit with my 4 piece meal the food was good but the customer service was very bad.
Awesome service and I very much enjoyed the grande opening. I went with my in-laws and must say the service was great and enjoyed the atmosphere. The customers service is great and very friendly. Must recommend.
I drove 30 minutes just to finally try this place Boy was i ever disappointed. I paid 40 dollars and the chicken is so bland. Tastes like literal chicken fried in flour. No spices or flavor whatsoever. And they forgot ALL my biscuits! Thats the main thing i wanted to try! So upset over this and the waste of an hour to go there and back. Ugh. AVOID this place
Waited for 15 minutes at the drive threw today. All 3 cooks where having a break across the store, smoking. 10 minutes after placing our order did they start making the food. The chicken was grade F. Gross. Complained to the manager he said move along. Will never be back again
I ordered the Mexicana sandwich, bombers and biscuit. The biscuit was great, my favourite out of all other places in Edmonton. Bombers weren’t anything special but came out fresh and the sandwich was a let down. The bun was very dry and flaky and the tortilla chips were stale. Will try again but maybe go for the traditional sandwich. Prices are on par with Popeyes.
Would of gotten 5* if the service was faster. Waited inside the store over 30 minutes for my order while everyone comes and goes through the drive thru. Very disorganized but food is worth the wait. Ordered at 5: 27 got the order 5: 59 They need to better train staff to pump orders out quickly. Only fried chicken pieces are the best, sandwiches and wraps are dry. They tried offering honey buns to the restaurant for waiting so damn long.
Good food great service Ahmed is very professional and has a great attitude knows how to do his job very professionally and is one of the nicest guys there.
On Friday March the 6th, I walked in along with my colleagues to enjoy a meal, the manager on duty during that time was very hospitable and ensured that we were treated with full respect and dignity, he also provided us with delicious chicken fresh out of the fryer. Overall the experience was 10/10 for a fast food place, will definitely be telling others about this place.
I've been missing Texas a lot, and having a little something that reminds me of home had been heartwarming. I've dabbled through most of the menu - it's all so good, and tasty. If you're a fan of spicy - their spicy is spot on. I highly recommend their Jalapenos Bombers, and Honey-Butter Biscuits. Prices I find to be reasonable, but for some it could seem a bit expensive.
