Cineplex Odeon Windermere Cinemas and VIP

Movie took about 20 minutes to actually start my impatient son was waiting but Movie was good

Friendly staff, spacious seating with drinks holders and generally comfortable. Seats were super squeaky though - which meant you couldn't recline much unless you wanted to disturb everyone.

My family and I refuse to go anywhere else. The seats are so comfortable, you can get meals and combos that are perfect for a family night out. Lots of room if you need to get up or get to your seats.

I would give 0 stars, if i could. They have bugs in their seats/theatre, i have got an allergic reaction with bruises. I was there in AUD 2 last night. It’s terrible. Beware

Very clean and the staff is very friendly.
VIP is the way to go! Comfortable seats and being able to have food and drinks is a real treat.

Usually have a good experience, but word of advice. Do not see horror movies late night in this theatre because you’ll have a bunch of young kids and a very loud theatre. We ended up having to leave. It was horrible. People talking on their phone, swearing, yelling, screaming, watching their own movies in their phones. Thankfully, the manager was nice enough to give us passes to get our money back, but we are pretty upset that we drove all the way into the city just to see this movie and have to leave. If you have the opportunity to do VIP instead, definitely do that. You can hopefully avoid the young loud kids.

Went to the VIP watch Opppenheimer. Went on early matinee session, had my breakfast at home so did not consume anything. Need to try another day to try their food. Movie was great!

Kris is the GOAT. Our online tickets were located at a different theatre but Kris immediately stepped in and took control. He helped us out with an amazing attitude that made our day. Made our experience memorable, definitely deserves recognition.

Saw James bond. ON a customer service note: I messed up the ticket ordering online and the cineplex people sent me a free set of tickets for my next movie experience. Pretty good.

Also, the last time we went to a movie before that we got free tickets as well due to some sort of door snafu.pretty sweet I tell ya.

Absolutely awesome experience. My friend invited me out to see the new venom movie (great movie btw) but this had been the first time in the vip theater and the facilities are super clean and well taken care of. The vip service is awesome and the person who was helping us was super nice and helpful (I don't remember her name). I highly recommend this theater and the staff were awesome!

Think this has gotten a bit out of hand. Travel into the city for date night. I forget my wallet which has my idea my mistake. They won't let us in cause I only have the QR code. Then they won't refund my visa and give me passes for a later show. Well our movie we want to see doesn't take passes so your welcome for the 40 dollars in donations. I get I forgot my id but there is no accommodating at all. Your customer services has vanished behind this covid stuff. Really unimpressed.

This shouldn't even be considered VIP anymore. Yes, they will bring you food and drinks but even the seats at South Common are more comfortable. Windermere seats don't even recline.

Awesome way to watch a big movie as a treat. Comfortable chairs, restaurant food and drink for the VIP theatres

Not the VIP experience I had grown accustomed to. The seats MUST have changed or they were smaller or something. I just did not enjoy it as much as I have in the past.

We'll staffed and generally pretty clean. Not sure the VIP part is worth the hype but a good theatre none the less.

I went to the new Landmark on 17st a few weeks ago, and then to the VIP theater here, and wow, the difference blows my mind. Landmark was muuuuuch nicer, comfier. Felt like home. Albeit, much newer, this vip theater didn't feel very VIP to me. The seats were not very comfortable and it seemed kinda small.

Saw paw patrol, plenty of space between seating, and good movie environment. Haku to be able to safely visit a theater again.

No recliners at this one. Staff is friendly. Can be a long walk to theatres. Theatre was packed. Yes, some spacing was left on sides, single seats, but right on top of each other in cramped rows. Felt COVID unsafe.

Windermere Cineplex is always a great choice. Friendly service and clean theaters. I tend to go to Windermere despite having several closer options for theatres in the city.

The food is ok. The seating provides a more relaxed way to watch movies. The staff are super helpful. Better food and some live entertainment would make the VIP lounge more appealing.

If I can give this location 0 stars I would. This is our first and last visit to this Cineplex location. We've always visited the South Common location but unfortunately there were no seats available for tonight. First washrooms were disgusting. 3 stalls have no toilet paper, I had to ask my daughter to check each stall. Went in to watch our movie only to get vertigo. At first we were all confused if we are watching 3D as the screen seems to be 3D. Everybody had to scramble down to grab their 3D glasses only to find out it is not 3D but the screen itself was flickering. It went on for 10 minutes when a few of us decided to find a staff/manager and show them what's going on. Spoke to 2 staff and was told they are aware and are working on it. We told the staff to call a Manager and we had to tell the Manager to stop the movie as it was giving us a headache. We were expecting a fun family night and it ended up as a huge disappointment. We wasted money on popcorn and drink and wasted gas. The lack of customer service is appalling. The Manager at the Box Office needs retraining. He just kept on reasoning out and even challenged us to write a review. By the way this is not the first time it happened, there were people who were in our time slot (9pm) that had to go back from their 6pm show because it got cancelled due to the same issues. Ruined our night and wasted our time!

Their arcade hurt my hand when playing air hockey. Place needs an update.they spent it all on the awesome vip lounge and the rest is a bit outdated. Great great food. Sad about the promo meals for vip are gone. Came on a Wednesday and was disappointed. Affects my want to come back.

Look, it’s slightly more expensive than a normal theatre, for an order of magnitude better experience. Just do it.

It's all right but like all Cineplex theaters the actually presentations are given little consideration. I've had multiple experiences with bad sound, no masking on the picture, and lights coming on when there is still a few minutes left on the film.

Got a popcorn with several strands of hair in it! Definitely not mine, they were buried about halfway through the bag. Disgusting!

This theater is not enforcing the physical distancing seats at all. We had a group sitting within the "Physical Distance" seats so they were directly behind us. Usher looked at them several times yet failed to do anything about it. Thanks for ruining the safe movie experience. Will not be returning to this location.

Payed $50 for dbox tickets then our movie got cancelled because of broken amps the first day the theatre opened after lockdown. We got 2 free tickets each However, everyone got the same thing even if they payed less than we did. Then I went and spoke to the manager as to why I was getting the same two ticket deal as people who paid for regular seats. She then kept repeating the same thing and not answering my question. She then got defensive. Not impressed at all as it’s been so long since we have been able to do anything due to restrictions. We were very excited to enjoy our first time out together in a year.

Cineplex need support to survive in coming year. Please experience the theater than watching on TV.

It was fun - I like the love seats. The food is terrible though - don't eat dinner there! Drinks are good though. Popcorn is cheaper. I got the tickets BOGO - I would never pay full price.

Service was awesome. Food was not the greatest but I've reached out to management to look at so no one else experiences what tastes like 2 day old fries. Everything else was amazing though

I went windermere VIP Cinema for watching movie Tenet with my wife.
This time, we tried to D box experience but we had very bad experience.
It is pandemic but we went the theater because of Tenet and selected D box experience for new movie and we thought in the theater, everything is clean and more sanitized for Covid 19 issue.
But we doubt our eyes.no cleaning dirty, stains on the D box chairs which were selected and set up for us so we couldn't change them.
No more D box No more pay extra.

I went to see Inception and Tenet post-covid in the VIP theatre. The staff was so kind, the food was delicious (and quickly made), and the theatre was super clean! The staff go above and beyond to make the experience wonderful. Although business has slowed down, you can tell that these guys take pleasure in their work. Will definitely be coming back for Black Widow in November!

On the upside the theater had only 12 people in for an early Friday night show. Problem is the snacks. When I'm paying that $ for a bag of popcorn I don't want to being my own salt. The movie itself - sound was muffled making it hard to hear the dialogue. The D box seat was cool.

Super clean! Super dead. Good covid 19 practices. Poor staff looked dead on the inside due to lack of customers.

This theater has always been one of my favourites, but if you thought it's safe during Covid, buckle up cause you're in for a surprise.

1) Theater says they sanitize everything after each showtime, but we saw popcorn on the seats and handles, which made us question the integrity of the claim.

2) We saw people walk in without masks but no one enforced them. Perhaps it's not mandatory? The ones who had masks upon entrance would take it off inside the theater anyway, where it matters most.

3) For safety, you can only purchase designated seats: only half the rows are purchasable and only half the seats in each row with two empty seats intervals. But once inside, people start to move around, perhaps because others in their row aren't wearing masks and cough, so I don't blame them. We also saw a group of 7 friends sit right next to each other in one row without masks, which was interesting.

4) At this point, pretty much all the safety features put in place are gone. Employee comes in with a big sheet, looks around, checks everything off and leaves when clearly, she/he can see some of the seats which were meant to be empty are taken and people don't have their masks on. I don't blame the employee really, they're being paid min wage and perhaps don't want to get involved in arguments.

I really wanted this to be a positive and safe experience, but sadly it wasn't. I hope you find this review useful. Stay Safe!

Love the VIP, always show up early to order some food before the movie! Always a great experience

We always enjoy this Cineplex. The 3 VIP theaters are great and the VIP lounge is quite enjoyable. Pricing on the VIP side isn't as gougy as you'd think for a Cineplex. Lol! Fair pricing for drinks and the food is not much more than you'd pay at a fast food restaurant.
The other theatres have a variety of options including 3D viewing & D-Box seating.

My friend and I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody it was the first time I've been in a theater in probably 15 years. We went to the fancy adult theater and it was amazing. Took a while to get our order but other than that absolutely two thumbs up

Great when it's not too busy! The addition of "pour your own drink" really slowed things down and is innefective. However if you're willing to pay more for the V. I. P theatre experience it's well worth it!

Love the VIP. We very rarely get to go out for date nights so it's nice to leave the kiddos at home and relax in the big comfy chairs and have popcorn delivered to your seat!

Was OK. Seats were comfortable. Parking was great. Concessions are fast and convenient (pricey however what else can be expected it is a theatre after all).

Way to expensive for snacks and the nerve to have signs on the pop machines saying no refills. After spending 100 on snacks which is 95% profit a refill shouldn't be an issue.

I have been to this theatre a few times for the VIP theatres. Normally, it is an amazing experience. However, tonight was very disappointing.
The movie started at 10: 30pm and it was opening night for an anticipated movie. After the previews finished, the projector would turn off and lights would turn on. The staff attempted for awhile to fix the issue. The previews played again and the same thing happened. Staff tried again to fix it, stating that things would be fixed in 5 minutes. Half an hour later, an employee comes out and announces that there have been problems all day. While we were welcome to wait, he wouldn't put out much hope. A refund and courtesy movie tickets were issued.
It is a major disappointment after today being an opening night for a movie and I had booked these tickets a month in advanced. I would have very much liked an offer to have an additional showing tomorrow and letting those disappointed to have that showing.

Expensive but if you're gonna splurge might as well go for the vip theatre, full service drinks/food before the movie and no children. Food service on the "regular" side at Outtakes is very slow, so give yourself plenty of time. There is an arcade to play at as well.

I love this place! As someone without kids the VIP theater provides me a high end way to watch a blockbuster hit in an intimate theater venue that lets you reserve your own seats, order food to your seat, and drink beer in a theater legitimately. The other theaters aren't bad (non VIP) some movies they have in AVX so you can reserve seats in the larger theater. Of course its hilariously expensive like anything at a movie these days. But I think it's the best movie theater in town. Way less BS than south Edmonton common or north side.

I was a bit disappointed in this theater. $20 to watch a VIP movie and the seats were cracked and uncomfortable in a dress. $13 for an alcoholic beverage, which was possibly the quest mix I'd ever had. Other than the wait service, I can't understand what I paid so much for.

Second time in two weeks we’ve been there, and both times the screen wasn’t on for the previews/TimePlay. Audio only. When a staff member was asked to turn on the screen, we were told “ we don’t turn it on because the projector will overheat”. For $49.00 for a pair of D-box tickets, you should fix your projector! This last visit, we were served at the concession stand by Liam- who truly appears to hate his job. I don’t believe he said a word during the entire transaction, and appeared like he would rather be any place but behind that counter. This is a far cry from what I would expect from a brand like this. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Over all, the place is dirty, and it doesn’t seem like any of the staff care. Case in point, while waiting for the theatre to open, one staff member came out carrying several bags of garbage that were leaking liquid. Several staff members followed, two of which looked directly at the spill, and continued to walk directly through it, tracking whatever it was onto the carpet. In my opinion, whomever is I charge here, needs a swift kick in a place they will remember.

So the greatest part of going out to the movies with friends, family or romantic partner to me is creating a quick, hassle free experience. When you go to cineplex that is what your signing up for. Dont like lines, skip em and buy your tickets online through their app, collect points from buying from certain shops, buying popcorn there and even playing games before the movie on their big screen! I have never one had an issue with any of the personnel and for the kiddo it's always been a safe environment too.

Only ever gone to the VIP area. Really clean. Extremely friendly staff. Great service. Staff doesn't hover, and wait time is reasonable. Great experience Highly recommend it. (You need to book tickets in advance some times 24 hrs)

The staff was very slow and not engaged with us, the guy at box office didnt say a single word to us. I saw some of them on their phones. None of the employees seemed to want to be there. Even if the building is a modern Cineplex with all the bells and whistles, the staff do not reflect what my movie experience at Cineplex should be.

Good seats, well spaced. They lose a star for having a neck break row in the standard theatres. VIP is worth it for big movies if you don't have kids and don't want to deal with them. Lines move fast even when there a queue for huge events like Infinity War. This is a very well managed theatre with a capable staff.

Been here many times, mostly to the VIP theaters. Always have had a good time, whether movie was bad or good. In seat services is awesome, no standing in line is definitely where it's at. You can order anything from beer, cocktails and highball drinks. There is also a menu of kitchen appetizers and classic movie fair, like popcorn, pop and candies. Adults only in VIP is genius.
