I had been avoiding going for year - but couldn't be happier with the experience here!

Citizen Dental is one of the most pleasant dentist experiences I've had in years. My hygienist, April, I've been going to for a few years now. She is friendly and precise with some fantastic pointers for dental hygiene. I have extremely sensitive teeth and her cleanings are thorough and mindful. Citizen does direct billing which is ultra convenient for me. I always run a predetermination prior to my appointments and the front desk staff gets the info to me in a timely fashion. I live in Mission, so it's great to walk there. Free teeth whitening after every visit. Highly recommend.

I LOVE this dental office. I used to absolutely dread going to the dentist, but now I actually look forward to it. The office is decorated nicely (I love the apothecary wall they added recently!) and the staff are super kind and welcoming. Their pricing is fair and I never feel ripped off leaving. The free teeth whitening with cleanings is the cherry on top

Appointment was ok. Was expecting that the doctor would give me more concrete answers. I don't know what the x-ray showed and that was my primary visit request. Didn't seem that they read my file and brushed off my in jury as "having a little pain". I don't know if I have TMJ, if my jaw is shifted, nothing. Just a referral and botox initial app. I am very disappointed that I was lead on to believe that the appointment will be direct billed to my MVA insurance. I did say I do not have a personal coverage and asked if that app will be covered by the accident insurance. I was told yes and booked. I do not have a problem paying the appointment, but misleading is not something I appreciate. I am currently reconsidering if my family and I should be returning for future visits.

Had a really good experience today with Evelyn. She was very thorough and gave me some great tips. Would recommend this clinic to anyone.

Their dental hygienists are always lovely. The only reason I docked a star is because their new whitening system doesn't seem to do as impressive of a job as their old one. Their old one made a very noticeable difference, but I couldn't tell any difference with their new one. I'm pretty bummed they changed it.

Lovely little clinic close to downtown with really nice staff. The only reason it lost stars is the cost - the breakdown of each process is above the suggested pricing standards set by the ADA. This is likely why they can offer the free whitening with a regular cleaning. If you’re not worried about cost, this is a great clinic with awesome staff but I’ll be searching elsewhere for my next dental experience.

Always a great experience I usually see Lace for my cleanings but saw April today and she was lovely also!

Highly recommend for anyone, especially those who are nervous about being judged and/or have experienced lots of pain/rough hygienists in the past. They were incredibly kind, understanding about my budget, quick, and no pain during or after. Thank you kindly I will be coming back and telling my friends!

Fantastic experience! Great dentist, hygienist and front desk staff. Highly reccomend. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars: paid parking and they don't accept secondary insurance plans

This place is great and lace Shaw is just fabulous, apart from the great work she does to your teeth, she is mad good company while getting your teeth done.

Went in for a regular cleaning and the hygienist was extremely slow, in 70 minutes only completed partial cleaning of my top teeth, no fluoride and no complimentary whitening. Kept stopping the cleaning to do something on the computer. I get regular cleanings twice a year so it wasn't a hygiene issue on my end. Have never experienced not receiving a full cleaning at any other clinic before, thought this was odd and unfortunate as it is so expensive.

Dental office focused on education. Was treated with kindness and a ‘gentle touch’ (I have fear around dentists due to previous bad experiences). Thank you!

Absolutely the only place I will ever go to. They are all amazing and friendly and so good to my daughter. They have changed my mouth and its health 100% and I had very bad teeth. And now they are looking so good. Hands down the best place to go period I appreciate all you ladies I dare you to go once you will never go back

Going to the dentist terrifies me. I went after a very long hiatus and found out I needed a root canal. I went for it today, and was totally fine all the way through. The team at Citizen is so kind and caring.

I am very impressed by the service and professionalism here:) Everyone from the front desk staff, to the dental assistant and dentist were all so amazing! You feel taken care of. April was such a lovely person and was very gentle during the cleaning. I highly recommend!

I’ve had to go to Citizen Twice in the last couple of weeks to have some fillings done. One by Dr. Yu and one by Dr. John. Both times were amazing. Very gentle and pleasant experience. Would highly recommend.

Hygienists, assistant staff, front desk were all extremely friendly and they really ensure that I am informed about the procedure/process, and how to better care for my teeth.

The clinic is bright, modern and clean. Only negative thing would be the 2 hour paid parking on a narrow street that can get busy and packed.

Like many, I'd put off going to the dentist/hygienist for far too long. To the point where the fact it had been so long made me even more reluctant to go. I was expecting a lecture, thousands of dollars and a lot of pain to get my oral health back on track.

It had been 22 years since I'd last seen a dentist (I know, I know) and I saw one of their Instagram ads that appealed specifically to people in a similar situation to me.

I reached out to them with some questions and concerns and before I'd even made an appointment, I already felt far more comfortable about everything. This same happy, helpful, non-judgmental tone continued with every single person I interacted with there and I can't thank them enough!

When I apologized for her having to deal with my gross situation, my hygienist, April, said "oh not at all, we live for this type of thing! " and that was genuinely the attitude I felt from every member of the team.

For obvious reasons, I went in there embarrassed about my situation. By the end, my teeth are cleaner, whiter and healthier than they've been since I was in my early teens and I actually look forward to my cleaning appointments. Something I never thought I'd say.

This isn't a paid review, I'm just so happy and grateful for everything April and the rest of the team team at Citizen have done to help me get back on track. Thank you!

The whole experience with Citizen Dental Clinic was a breeze. I haven’t been to the dentist’s office in some time and had anxiety towards my appointment. Having Elizabeth being gentle and tentative during my visit was reassuring? Would recommend to friends in a heartbeat!

I had not been to a dentist for over four years. Hannah and Dr Jahn made me feel comfortable and cared for. There was absolutely no judgment from the staff or Dr. It made going back to the dentist easy and I am so comfortable that I scheduled two more appointments.

This was the second time I saw Dr. John, she is very efficient gets me in/out and is always so nice. Her assistant is nice too.

Staff is welcoming and friendly. Wait times are very short. I had some cleaning done by Hannah and saw Dr. Yu as well, both extremely knowledgeable and professional and provided amazing service!

Explanations were very thorough about any issues that popped up and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. No one is judgy or tries to re-teach you how to floss when you have a cavity. The cleaning was good, with little to no unnecessary stabs in the gums. They also gave me treatment options for tmj issues I've had forever that other dentists have just shrugged at and glossed over. Overall, I really liked them. I came for the free whitening but I'll keep coming back because of the service and care.

This is a really great dental office, definitely the best I have ever been to. I do not feel anxious going to the dentist but I think if you do have anxiety or fear surrounding dental work this is the place to go. Everyone is kind and explains the details of your appointment really well.
