Been going to this gym for a few months now 4-5 times a week in the mornings around 5: 30AM-7AM. In this ongoing experience I've really enjoyed the variety of things to do such as swimming, indoor track, weighted gym, and open gym. They get very busy on the weekends so if you're planning on going to do some activities with a few people, just be prepared to interact with public quite intensly during your visit.

The only thing I have a continuous issue with which effects/inconveniences my workout almost every time I go is the organization of the weighted gym area. The weights are dispursed all over the place, severly unorganized along with the cable machine attachments. There are often times I will have to walk all the way to the other side of the gym just for an attachment or to get a single weight which has resulted in that machine/area to be occupied when i get back. Also, the plates will often be piled on 1 machine, not in order so I'm having to take plates off and find different spots for them just to get the plate I'm going for.

A solution to this in my opinion would be to have the staff that work at that gym to go around every hour or 2 for example and ensure that the weights on the machines are organized and that there are enough weights/cable attachments on each machine on both sides of the gym to make the experience alot smoother for the client.

Facility decent once you are in but expect to stand in line for half an hour minimum even if you are a member. Poorly managed front desk means you just stand there endlessly waiting to scan in.
19 November 2023 22:44
Love the pool and the gym is amazing all types. They have a slow walk, jog and run lane around most of the building. Love the lazy river of course.
17 November 2023 23:54
The place has been going downhill as too many young kids there. The gym is often a mess with equipment laying all over the place. The young kids are constantly having their shirts off comparing their 90lb bodies. Place is becoming a teenage hangout, not a real gym
25 September 2023 21:02
Really cute family friendly place and they offer a whole bunch of fun activities for everybody.
03 September 2023 23:23
Incredible place is huge and spacious! The gym is really great and has a track attached, too, so you can do laps or jog to your next workout! I like to put on headphones and just speed walk around the track a bunch! That's my jam, haha! The library is great and spacious too, has quiet rooms for serious studying! Printing and coloring too, computers and you can rent tablets too! The pool is great too, has a steam room, lazy river, laps, hot tub, slides, and diving boards, even a super giant one! Definitely suggest coming here and thats only a fraction of their services too!
02 September 2023 11:00
Amazing pool they have a lazy river water slide and diving boards. Perfect place to come on a cold cold winter day! Or beat the heat or smoke during the summer!
27 August 2023 16:54
Sad the swimsuit spinner is gone, but we’ll blame the general public for that one.the lazy river is riddled with sand and other debris. Staff are very friendly, and informed. Overall cleanliness of the facility is good. The grounds could use some better keeping. Security for lockers are.questionable.
24 August 2023 22:31
Good facility for a workout or a swim. The library being connected to the building is nice too.
16 January 2022 20:00
Good facility. But one of the asian ladies who was at the front desk was not too friendly rather she was rude and just got so many irrelevant questions. Community centres should have a more healthy/warm environment, not toxic and unfriendly.
04 January 2022 3:17
This facility has a great load of things to do. There’s two rinks, a pool (shallow, lazy river, toddlers section, deep end, hot tub, steam room), courts (used for multiple sports, basketball, badminton, volleyball, pickle ball), a skate park, a new playground for all kids (wheelchair accessible and free), and a library. The membership is well worth it and it can be used at Rec Centers across Edmonton.
30 December 2021 20:37
Used to go to Clareivew rec centre for the convenience of the location but the hours have changed to very limiting times.ie. 6pm on Saturdays and 8pm on weekdays which makes it very hard after work. Would recommend if you are able to go during the day, but in the evening don't bother.
24 December 2021 3:34
This is the first time we've visited this center.watched our grandson play hockey. Amazing to see how many different sporting events are under one roof. If you've never been here, definitely recommend checking it out.
23 December 2021 3:36
Not a bad place overall. A bit dark inside. Traffic in the area can be heavy, and then it is hard to see all the parking signs for the arena parking that is around the back by Entrance 3. Staff member doing the covid screening was not happy to be there but was pushing through.
05 December 2021 5:03
Worst administration.no notice on closures, they just close it whenever they want. People go there and find out that the entire rec center is closed until further notice, which is BS. They take our money and provide subpar services. Front desk is generally very rude, and seem like some of them doesn't even have a common sense.

Today they closed the rec center because there is some festival going on. Sick of this rec center.
24 November 2021 23:26
Great playground, spread out so social distancing was easy. They have some trees planted but not enough for shade. One sitting area with shade, on hot day there would not be enough shade. Really like the soft rubber and walking trail and wide sidewalks. I'll will be back for sure, lots of equipment for 4 to 6 year Olds.
19 November 2021 22:07
We like this pool. The lazy river is always quite nice unless it's too busy. Lifeguards are pretty friendly as we had a moment with the teen a couple weeks ago where he had caught and tore his finger on the bottom of the pool.they wrapped it for him without issue.
The family/ kids pool area is smaller and seems to almost always be crowded.
The wading area in the big pool is great for toddlers.
The only real complaint, they don't have any individual family shower rooms (like Terwillegar), and that does make it harder to shower littles when you're not allowed to remove swimwear in common spaces, which is completely understandable.
Also, it was colder than usual in the pool last time we were there, but overall it's usually a good experience there.
25 October 2021 1:58
Our go to pool and gym.
Always a good time here. We haven't gone in quite some time due to frustrating COVID protocols though.
24 October 2021 14:29
Might be one of the worst designed buildings in the city. Gym is sparse and disconnected. Staff was good and helpful. Didn't use the pool but it does look good
28 August 2021 1:07
Incredible playground that is wheelchairs accessible in a lot of areas. Beautiful park and easy to park. Lots of kids and families at the park
11 July 2021 9:39
A gorgeous facility with amazing amenities. Plus right now you basically get the place to yourself.
20 June 2021 23:21
Beautiful facility, to bad the crime hit so hard here, but there is tight security and doing there best to keep out the riff raft.
28 April 2021 10:36
Third time hitting up this new playground and we would recommend to everyone who has kids. The park is accessible to persons with a disability. The ground is made of a recycled rubber that is soft enough and no sand to worry about. My sons (16 months) favorite part was the musical area. He played the drums and the xylophone and danced a little. Thanks to Canadian Tire for building it!
24 April 2021 8:00
Great to be back in action. Kinda sucks that we have to wear mask at all times. Hard to breathe on the fitness machines.
06 February 2021 21:35
The modern architecture is captivating and the amenities abundant but the customer service is not always up to par. There’s one lady who works the front desk who is genuinely unpleasant to deal with and the indoor play park (pre-covid) started charging for parents to enter to supervise their kids! Are you kidding? I have to pay $12 to stand there and watch my kids? Talk about gauging considering parents have no choice. Much cheaper to just go to the treehouse a block away. The pool is beautiful and lifeguards friendly, but when you pay a fortune on a Saturday to take your kids swimming only to find out half the pool is blocked for private lessons which are mysteriously absent only to be funnelled into an overcrowded baby pool, it hardly seems worth the expense.
04 February 2021 20:23
Thanks for staying open during covid. I understaffed it's hard the staff and still they're so nice everytime I go there!
21 January 2021 0:43
Life guards are very nice, friendly and helpful. Front desk employees are not friendly as if we are not welcomed and don’t show empathy.
19 September 2019 20:16
Clarview community centre is a great place for fitness, pool and indoor recreational activities including basket ball, tennis and badminton. Located in the North side of the edmonton. It has three types pool for babies, kids and Adult. Visited this place 2 weeks ago. Enjoyed the place with my kids. Highly recommend this place for recreational activities. Price is ok. Worth for the price.

One of the staff the one that’s brown/black was super rude telling my sister she needs a school ID to buy a bus pass like it’s August where is she gonna get it? And my sister has a rec year pass which she’s always used our phone # for it to pop up with a photo of her. The staff told her that it was “too much work” like it’s her job. And so this white staff lady told my sister she would do it but the black lady staff said no and when I went to talk to her she said my sister swore at her but when I told her she didn’t and brought my sister she changed it to her putting her hands on her when she never did. She said it was her “rule” that she didn’t have to do it and when I said I wanted to see the cameras of what my sister did she wouldn’t and called security which were useless because they didn’t care and were just standing the not even kicking me out I just walked away, then they say to my sister that the black lady staff is always like that.she has no reason to be working as customer service for the city.
15 September 2019 15:40
The staff there are so disrespectful and don’t like to hear what others have to say. I was told by one of the workers that pulling up my card by a number was too much work and she wasn’t gonna do it then when I tried to go to another worker she said if we didn’t get out and find our cards or get an adult she would call the security but we didn’t do anything and when we went back to get an adult she started fighting my older sister and called the security. Then another woman at the back came and didn’t even let us talk to her and called security again! What’s irritating is that the security knew we didn’t do anything bad so they stood there saying nothing and one of them told my sister that it’s ok that woman is always rude and people usually have issues with her. If one of the staff doesn’t wanna do their job and doesn’t want to help others while disrespecting and making more than a couple of people mad then she shouldn’t be working there. She even continued to lie to the security and say that we cussed at her, we’ve been going to this recreation for 4 years and have never had a problem till now. She also didn’t care and told us to bring it up with the city of Edmonton.

Hello My name is Lei Lei. Just give the Claireview Rec Centre some feedback about my experience today.
I was waiting on the line at 3: 39pm for about 5 minutes. Then I received nobody ever called me. Then I asked a staff named Prakash, he said someone is coming soon. Then I stayed and waited for another 5 minutes. Then Prakash told me to line up from another line. Then I followed his instructions, waited another 5 minutes. Then I see another staff named Kristy walking slowly outside and put a piece of potato chips in her mouth, obviously she has no idea what is PROFESSIONALISM, especially when she’s chewing in front of all the customers. Kristy didn’t ask who came first, neither Prakash reminded her about I and the people waiting long time behind me. She just started to register the guy just came to that line which is I was there waiting approximately 10 minutes.
15 minutes waiting in line means nothing if everyone got treated fairly. The experience I had made us feel like the whole system is lack of communication and organisation. There’s no need to apologise for whatever already happened. I just hope such poor service won’t happen again in the future. Everyone should realise that no matter how beautiful the building is, people are the Key Core!

I love Clareview Rec. Centre! I’ve used the drop in daycare for my kids, it was good, with kind competent people. The swimming pool is great for all ages with a decent toddler pool, lazy river, hot tub and lanes. The indoor playground is so big and fun, my 2 and 10 year old love it. Also, it’s kept really clean!
I have also used the gym upstairs, it has everything you might need. My favourite is the Zumba classes, always a fun way to get in some cardio.
10 August 2019 0:23
Gym with a lot of options, In-door track, great big basketball court, Good Earth Coffee and Jugo Juice, Drop in daycare, two skating rinks (I believe you have to book the ice) A library. I mean, there is so much to do here. Definitely check it out.
01 August 2019 23:48
No much privacy at the pool but the rest is good. A very good place to go with friends or family. I love this place from the inside. It’s such a huge place to spend a lot of time in a healthy way. It’s amazing with their pools and places to play. Also have a playground for children was a great idea. You can spend hours and hours in this place. They’re library has a lot of spots where you can sit and friendly and helpful staff. The only concern was the security. One day I was leaving from the library side, I unfortunately saw people stealing 2 bikes in front of a few people. That was incredible to see, I couldn’t believe it and I was feeling so bad for the owners of those bikes.there should be more security outside and inside the place.
21 July 2019 10:51
The tot pool is great for baby because it’s heated. There stroller parking (you need to bring your own bike lock) and it’s nice that there’s a play pen in the lady’s change room.
07 July 2019 14:30
$11 to swim or gym? That's insane. Like, a *monthly* membership to a gym is 20-60/month so sorry but this is extremely unjust. I'm from Vancouver and it's 3.50 at "value time" or 7$ any other time for pools/REC centers that are much nicer.

Also, the kids REC play area. What's up with charging parents to sit and watch?
05 July 2019 22:58
The place is being overrun by violent criminals. Constant violent robberies/ assaults by weapon wielding gangs. Constant smell of narcotics usage in change rooms. Drug deals occurring inside and on the exterior of the property. I would not recommend ever going here especially later in the evening and night. It's just not safe and I would expect it to be a safe place to enjoy leisure activities but unfortunately that is not the case.
08 June 2019 12:37
The facility is awesome. However, you have to wait a long time to get your membership card printed because their computers are slow and only one card printer works and their cameras freeze. So its all good unless you are looking to get a membership card.
05 June 2019 21:07
Lots of rude people and the wave pool is never on at the pool. Really nice arena, ice is well kept, fire alarms go offf sometimes and they have to escort everyone out.
04 June 2019 0:31
Nice facility. My kids had a lot of fun.just stay out of the water.

Ppl should not be able to go into any pool with their underwear on and/or clothes on. You can buy Muslim swimsuits and even very long swim trunks for men. This girl was wearing a shirt and her underwear in the pool. Many wore their clothes. I was fully disgusted and so should many other ppl.

My son got a very bad rash that hurt him coming out of this pool. No more outside clothes ppl and take a shower beforehand.

Chlorine is poison so should not be increased because of those who think they can do whatever. The city is making many sick to accommodate a few. Take care of the problem city of Edmonton
03 June 2019 22:14
Awesome place to bring your kids to play or swim. Also really sweet gym to get your fitness on. 4 out of 5 stars because it seems to be a bit sketchy at times. Hence the EPS officers on site most times.
31 May 2019 1:04
The change rooms were very cold and the pool areas outside of pool were very cold as well. Those areas in other pools I have been in were much warmer. If these areas were warmer I would recommend this pool to other people. As you well know word of mouth gives more people the invite to more people. Thank you and have a good day. All in all the pool looks good.
30 May 2019 20:02
Took my nieces swimming here between the different pools the lazy river and the water slide and the available floaties they were never bored I highly recommend
24 May 2019 16:16
Don't use the lockers with keys. I've had my locker broken into twice in a week. I now just use the combination lockers on the top floor instead of the lockers in the pool change room. I think theres a key floating around that someone shouldnt have. The pool change room is disgusting, sand and gravel everywhere. Everyone just wears their outdoor shoes in there. They don't even have a sign that says to remove shoes and carry them to your locker. I get not everyone will follow that rule but its better to have 1 or 2 people walking around with dirty shoes than EVERYONE walking around with dirty shoes.
14 May 2019 23:20
Really a nice place, first time was top notch.
Second time.hmmm
Water, stunk.almost sulfur (?) but bad.
And my family trunks have 2 soaked and washes.still smell that pool.
But same w my child’s hair, 2 different shampoos. 2 different baths. Twice washed each bath.that’s 4 hair washings.
Still absolutely stinks of this nasty pool.
Then the family change room.even though 2 cleaning staff in on arrival and departure.
Gross floors change room, booths and showers.seems like they shouldn’t be visiting so much each other and been cleaning bun
05 May 2019 13:00
This facility is really nice with lots of accessibility for those with any type of disability. Another nice feature is the big huge open spaces such as basketball court the swimming pool etc. I really like the new and contemporary architecture and design for the building.
21 March 2019 16:55
I enjoy taking my kids here to play in the indoor play ground. The pool is nice, the staff are awesome. The kids club there is great. My only complaint about this place is there needs to be a worker in the indoor playground to make sure that people are following the rules. I'll see 10-14 year olds running around like crazy in there, running into smaller kids. Ill see kids climbing up the slides while kids are trying to go down there. YES the parents should be watching their kids but they aren't. As a parent its concerning to me when I have to watch not just my child but also other peoples kids to make sure they aren't putting themselves or my kids in danger. I also feel like a lot of parents just use the lower entrance and don't sign in or pay. I was there for two hours and saw a worker come in once for 2 min and didn't address the older kids running around. Other than that this place is wonderful. The fitness center is nice.
17 March 2019 2:09
Large facility. Family friendly. Lot's of area's are open as in being able to watch what is going on. Plenty of activities on the notice boards as well
04 March 2019 21:46
The Clareview Community Recreation Centre is kind of the epitome of the idea that Edmonton spends too much on its art projects. From the research I did, the Clareview Community Recreation Centre is the result of an upgrade of just over $100 million to the previously existing Twin Arenas. Although an architectural beauty, this facility is much more confusing than it really has to be. That aside, the equipment and training space provided is more than enough for the average gym-goer. However, if you’re an Olympic weightlifter, somehow they couldn’t find enough money in their $100 million dollar budget to afford a few bumper plates.
04 March 2019 5:43
So this is been my third visit to this rec center. Each and every time I go here I find the one big drawback to it being that it is very confusing to navigate. Lots of stairs, lots of ramps, and lots of corridors that appear to lead nowhere really. The facility in itself is very nice and well kept and staffed by very friendly people. The pool side of the facility is very much a nice one and will continue to go here for the pool itself. This visit from the review was actually fairly busy but at the same time still had enough space to enjoy the pool facilities.
03 March 2019 11:07
In terms of a full facility it's probably a 4 star. As far as the gym goes though it could be better especially for the price. Going to likely go elsewhere.
10 February 2019 23:24
I love coming to this beautiful recreation centre everyday. I just really love making lasting memories here with my friends and family. A great place to work out and have fun with your pals. It looks amazing from the outside and it is so bright and open when you get in too. I hope to come here for many years and I always encourage my pals to come get a workout in with me. For a fantastic experience you won't regret, be sure to stop by Clareview Recreation Centre sometime soon. Truly an unforgettable place that I will always love and respect.
28 January 2019 5:23
Gym is terribly overcrowded! City officials turn a blind eye to the glare of direct sunlight on all players in the West Gym, ignoring the safety of all Gym users! ! !
