Clever Daycare - University District

Clever daycare has been so amazing and has made us feel so comfortable leaving our daughter there. The teachers and staff all seem to want to best for the children attending and always great her (and us) with a smile! I can see she is learning lots and well cared for. Thanks!

A reply to my previous review: Clever Daycare did eventually contact us after the review and refunded us a month of fees.

I remember meeting Chahak and the staff for the first time on the daycare tour (my daughter was 6 months old). They were genuine and made me feel comfortable and they answered all my questions with patience.
My daughter is almost 3 now and I couldn't be happier with my choice. She loves her teacher and classes very much and it makes me happy to see her actually getting excited about going there.

My 4 year old son goes here, and loves it! I love it too. We're always greeted at the door with a smile. They make really great and diverse food for the kids. They play outside a lot, do lots of crafts, practice letters, and learn all other sorts of things. The teachers are great, very friendly to me and my son. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a daycare!

In my opinion, there are some serious red flags with this daycare. I didn't end up sending my daughter for care at Clever and it cost me $299! Hoping I can save someone else the anxiety that I went through and the money that I paid for nothing.
The reasons I wasn't comfortable with Clever for care of my 11 month old daughter:
- they do not provide highchairs and insist that all children sit in a chair at a table to eat. The reason they gave - is so children can leave the table when they are done eating (my daughter is not walking).
- they do not provide cribs or playpens for naps. Instead the require all children to sleep in raised cots. They didn't show any concern about young children/babies falling or rolling out of the bed. They also give babies (11 months old) loose blankets and sheets to sleep with
- their menu indicates "raw apple slices, melon balls and carrot sticks" for snacks. I asked about these items for young children (11 months old) due to the high risk of choking with these foods and they said there is no issue and the babies would be offered raw fruits and veggies.
- they charge a non-refundable $100 fee to be put on their waitlist. There is no waitlist, it's just a way to get more money from people. When you actually go through the process to register, there are a lot of other fees and the final price is exorbitant (almost $900 for 2 days per week)

I informed Clever that my daughter would not be coming for care and the indicated that they would process a refund. The amount of the refund was $199 less what I paid. I asked for an explanation and was told, part of the fees are non refundable. All in all I'm out $299 and my daughter never went to Clever. With the price of everything going up these days $299 makes a big difference. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I do feel relieved that I didn't send my daughter to Clever.

Honestly, if I could give this daycare a 10/10, I would! My daughter (now 21 months old) loves the play area and the indoor gym. My favourite part is how natural sunlight is almost always there.
They've got good security and entry procedures. I like how tech-based everything is there, but homey and welcoming at the same time.
I would highly recommend their services to everyone especially to working moms like me who feel like nowhere’s safe enough for their child!

After paying for three months up front, we had to take our daughter out after a month (we asked for only a month refund and they refused). The reason we took her out: Every time I showed up to pick her up, I found her in a room full of kids, alone, crying in the corner, no teacher near her, no comforting—just left to cry. It was very hard to see. Other daycares will comfort your child and not leave her in a corner crying for who knows how long. Do not use Clever Daycare.

We are already in another daycare and it is a completely different (better) experience— They care.

Our 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son attend Clever at University District and both of them love it. Our daughter is excited to go and tells me how much fun she has. They both come home with artwork and crafts every day. I love the daily reports and photos as well. We are very happy we found Clever!

I needed childcare for a very short period and on a short notice, clever daycare were very accommodating and the staff were super nice and helpful. We had a very pleasant experience with them, highly recommended!

We are more than happy with Clever! The staff has been so helpful with our daughter regarding to her transition. They are always aware of her needs in order to provide Sophie with the best resources for her learning. Our daughter is REALLY happy in that place. Sophie is learning, singing, dancing, reading, playing, working in her social skills and showing us their progress every day. Her happiness and learning process is a sign that we made the best decision when we choose CLEVER DAY CARE.

We have had our two children with Clever Daycare (University) for nearly six months now. When they first arrived, they could not speak English and so they had challenges interacting with the other children. Happily, within a matter of weeks they had learned English and felt supported by the staff and embraced by the other children. Our children enjoy going to Clever Daycare and we are delighted that they have already adapted to life in Canada.

My son loves going to Clever. I would like to thank the Clever team for making the transition easy for my son. When we started my son had a language and food barriers but team helped us with all the concerns. Everyone here is very welcoming, supportive and friendly and provide all the daily updates for children. We started parttime for 2 months and quickly became full time. We are very thankful for all the extra love and care for my son when we needed it.

My daughter attends the University District location. Amazing staff with so much heart and caring mindset. My toddler has been excited to attend and loves seeing Ms. Ramandeep, Ms. Samer, Ms. Zoe, Ms. Manjit and the entire team. She looks forward to going there every day. It’s a relief to me as a mother to know that when I drop her off, my two year old will be well taken care of. Clever Daycare University District is very flexible, clean and I'm seeing the growth and learning every day! It's wonderful to know that my daughter is in a lovely, warm, new and safe environment. She loves her new friends, too!

I would recommend Clever Daycare University district to anyone that is looking for quality care in a brand new location. The drop-in program is also terrific for working professional parents.

My son attends Clever's Glamorgan location, so when my sister told me she was looking for a daycare for my niece to go to that was close to her work at the Children's Hospital. I was so excited to refer her to Clever.  Since my niece started at Clever's University District location in April, my sister has told me that she is already counting, and singing the circle time songs at home all the time. Both my sister And I are so happy we chose to enroll our children at Clever.   I especially want to mention how helpful Miss. Zoe was during the transitioning of both my son and my niece when they first started at Clever.
