David Murney was exceptional in providing options to my son and I for my kitchen appliances, explaining the differences and helping us make decisions. We felt very confident with his knowledge. He took the time to go through the specs etc at his desk, and continually kept in touch regarding receiving and delivery of the appliances. Because of David, we made the decision to buy from Coast Appliances (we were looking at other appliance stores), and will continue to do so.

We bought a new home through Trico homes. The appliances were supplied from Coast Appliances. Our $2800 Samsung fridge which is 1.5 years old is dead. “ Things happen” we were told by Coast Appliance warranty department. Fridges should last 7-13 years. That’s ok Coast Appliance, I will make sure I tell everyone not to shop at your stores. You do not stand behind, the products you sell. I DO NOT recommend, buying appliances at Coast Appliance.

Pretty sad customer service. I booked a warranty repair and no one showed up. I was dealing with James who said he would follow up with the manufacturer (who dispatches the warranty technician). No one followed up with me and the appointment came and went. I was then informed that I have to deal with the manufacturer directly.

Brutal customer service. I purchased an Asko Dishwasher and it has been broken for over a month. A technician has come in and has had to order parts for it. It is not even 6 months old and I purchased an expensive dishwasher for the quality. The technician who came in to install it, didn't install it properly either and it leaked into our basement.

I am really frustrated and want a replacement dishwasher and Coast told me too bad. Didn't even offer a solution. Super disappointed and won't be ordering from them again.

I visited Coast appliances to get a better idea of how much I would need to spend in order to replace some of my appliances. The location is great and convenient, and it has plenty of parking. Just within walking distance from the Chinook LRT station. They have multiple sections with a number a known brands and also a scratched and dented / open box section. You can wonder around the store on your own or get someone to help you. I still have not bought anything from them but my initial visit was quite positive. I will edit this post once I get the quotes I requested, and if I end up buying the appliances there I will make sure to document everything with pictures, videos and a very detailed post. More to come.

We ordered a washer from coast appliances 2 weeks before Black Friday, as there was a major sale. The website stated they were in stock at the Calgary location on Ogden road. Ogden road is 5 minutes from my house so I thought it would be a great idea, as even if they ended up being out of stock I’m right down the road. Come December- I had stil not received any updates regarding the washer. I contacted customer service who informed us that the washer was in fact out of stock and would not be in until approximately mid February. The customer service rep was very good and asked if we needed a washer right away and gave us alternative options which was appreciated- which is where the decent service ended. I asked if they would be offering the same deal on the washer as I bought it on a Black Friday sale. I did not receive a reply so I sent another email. I was informed I would not have to pay a price difference as there was a sale on- however the washer they were offering was smaller than the washer I purchased and I would not be getting any money back either. I asked if it was possible to refund the money and cancel the order and once again I did not receive an email back. I decided to wait until February for the washer. Come February we found out we would be moving and no longer at the address. I thought I should find out when the washer was coming to get prepared for it. This time rather than emailing I decided I should call and I may have better luck. I spoke with a different rep who was unable to tell me anything about my order and that she would have the original representative call me. The original rep called me stating the washer was now set to arrive mid March and unfortunately they were unable to expedite it and was again offered alternatives. I asked the rep if she could please refund my money or call me so it could be sorted as we were moving and needed a washer. The rep FINALLY refunded the order. Where I don’t have trouble waiting for an item I ordered online, I wish there had been clearer communication and better resolutions. I will not be shopping at coast appliances again

- UPDATE - COAST reached out to me after my original review. They offered to cover half the cost of the replacement door panel that I had to purchase on my own. Although I still believe they should have covered all of it, the gesture was there and it had been some time since my original purchase. The process to be reimbursed was very quick and Olivia was extremely thorough and pleasant to deal with on the phone. I would likely shop here again, just not ever again for clearance items.

- ORIGINAL - I purchased a clearance model Samsung dishwasher that had NO cosmetic damages from the Calgary South Store. It was only missing a drain hose. I picked the dishwasher up from the store (not the warehouse) the following day and it was completely bubble wrapped. My salesperson, Jason, and a helper, moved it into the back of my truck, strapped it down and I headed home. Had my wife help me unload it and it ended up sitting in my empty heated garage for almost a month.until the new drain hose arrived. Once the hose arrived, we brought it into the kitchen and pulled off the bubble wrap. To our horror, there was a massive dent and scratch in the front panel. There were no tears in the bubble wrap so this happened at the store before they bubble wrapped it, and its not unnoticeable so it was consciously wrapped over! Whatever it was hit it pretty hard, and likely metal (perhaps another dishwasher being moved on a dolly), as it also gouged the stainless.

I called the store immediately, was told Jason was away, but another salesperson would help me. Spoke to them and they said a manager. Katie, would get back to me. NEVER DID.

In the meantime, I called a parts place to see the cost of getting a replacement stainless panel.about $250.

I gave COAST two business days to get back to me and still no response, so I called again. This time Jason answered and I explained that if they covered the $250 cost of the replacement panel, I'd pick it up and replace it myself, call it even. Jason indicated that he'd speak with Katie. This time, he got back to me promptly an informed me that I could return the dishwasher, with a 10% restocking fee and that we could look into purchasing a new one. WHY WOULD I PAY TO HAVE THEM TAKE BACK A DISHWASHER THAT THEY DAMAGED!? They made a profit off the original sale, plus I'd now have to pay a restocking fee, they'd likely re-sell and make profit, then try and sell me another one and make another profit? I get this is business but definitely not customer service.

I was completely insulted with this response and ended up speaking with Katie directly. She gave me the same "deal". Take it back with a 10% restocking fee. When I asked why I should pay COAST for damages THEY had done, she responded that the damages were not done by them. I followed up with "if it wasn't COAST, then are you accusing me of damaging it and that I'm a liar? " She responded with "YES".

So for the price of them being out of pocket $250, it was worth losing my business forever and anyone else's business that I'd now NEVER recommend to shop at COAST.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. We moved into a brand new condo in July of 2021 where all appliances were supplied by Coast. We had issues with our Microwave, wall oven and refrigerator. I reached out for service. They referred me to their repair companies. To this day none of my appliances have been fixed appropriately. I have emailed, called and visited the store to speak to someone. They have sent two emails on our behalf to service as well. Nobody EVER gets back to me. They even had me calling New Zealand to the head office for Fisher Paykal for the fridge. They told me they would have the technician come back out to fix it. I still have no resolution, and no response. I would never shop at a store that has such poor customer service. Too bad I didn’t know this before I purchased my condo. So now almost two years into trying to find a resolution I’ve decided it’s time to let everyone know about the extremely poor service from this company.

Do you know whats worse than buying a product that brakes less than a month after purchase, being told by the company you purchased it thru that you would be better off calling the manufacture and then having to listen 30 times a day to advertising on the radio, telling me that "we treat all our customers like family"? Less radio ads, more customer service.thanks for the response, however if you read the review you would know that it wasnt posted until we tried to have coast help us with the problem.so you already have all our info and still we were told to call the manufacturer of the 1 month old washer and dryer in order to have it fixed.

Experience was fantastic - dropped in on a Saturday morning looking at dishwashers and helpful young guy asked great questions as to what I was looking for and hooked me up with a great appliance. Took advantage of a delivery and disposal special and another great employee professionally removed and installed - he was so personable I think my wife invited him for Christmas dinner.

Bought a new condo. They supplied all my appliances. The dryer had a problem within a month, the dishwasher was replaced by a different model because they couldn’t get the one I upgraded to, after about 10 runs I woke up to an alarm sounding. Service was done on Tuesday, first time run after, same error code. Waiting for service again. The dryer? Well it’s been over 2 months and still waiting for the new part, supposedly coming Tuesday. Frankly when new appliances act up that quickly, there’s a problem with what they’re selling! Then apparently it falls on you to keep getting them serviced. Ask me how confident I am that they’ll last? 1 out of 10! Oh yeah when I called and left a message Coast couldn’t be bothered to return my call.
I wouldn’t recommend them after this!

My experience with Coast Appliances started off a little disappointing… my brand new fridge had quit on me. I went to the SE location and was put in touch with Rocco the general manager. He was genuine and efficient and made me feel like my time was valuable. He immediately went to work and had me a new fridge before my frozen goods had a chance to thaw! Definitely will recommend your customer service - above and beyond.

My experience with Coast Appliances started off a bit disappointing…my brand new fridge quit on me. I went to the SE store and was immediately put in touch with Rocco the General Manager who was genuine and efficient. He went out of his way to ensure I was understood and my time was valuable. The new electric range is not working. Ask for help for repair requests. Contacted multiple times more than 20 times including costs, service provider and manufacture, no help at all. Imagine you are without a stove without cooking food for your family for more than 1 week and still don't know how long it takes for repair. Since your family is suffering you need to contact everyone everyday. Cost appliances do not replace or provide temporary appliances. If you want to cook food for your family you need to find a replacement appliance by yourself.

I can’t say enough good things about my recent experience at Coast Appliances South. Jay Nandan made this overwhelming task (picking out a fridge, stove, hood fan, microwave, washer & dryer) seamless. I was in and out in 45 minutes. He provided valuable advice & recommendations on each appliance and really knew his stuff. Whereas they also service appliances, he knows which ones have more issues ect. I felt so confident with my choices & appreciative of the support Jay provided. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy. 10/10

Very bad customer service. I have been calling to them but every time when they transfer my call to the sales man who is dealing with cardel home named Andrew Hausman never picked up my call and I have to leave a voice message to him. He never call back.i think he is done giving me excuses. I have no Microwave and Oven in my home. I moved to my new home in February since then I have no appliances. It’s very hard to manage cooking and other stuff without Microwave and oven especially but they don’t understand that. I don’t know why some builders deal with those ridiculous companies who can’t even manage to finish their Jobs!

Done deal. Went in to buy a Whirlpool fridge and Jason told me there as no way I could get it delivered in the time frame posted to their website. Ended up buying a floor model, that I basically bought due to the supply chain issues. I think I got seduced by the availability of it because truthfully it was a little overpriced and small for my requirements.and a scratch on the side that wasn't there when I bought it but can't do anything about that because its a floor model and sold as is. (note to self ~ take pictures in the future). The people at Coast were all nice, delivery and communication have all been good.

Very poor customer service. Bought a fridge for one of my rental properties last July, worked fine until February 14th. Initial service was okay at best, however the problem has not been corrected and it is now the end of April. How would you like to live without a full fridge? Coast will not return my calls and the manufacturer and their contract company are as bad and worse. Marathon fridge is not worth the box it came in.

Found the exact fridge we were looking for in the clearance section (it was just out of the box) Also found a chimney hood fan in this section for half the listed price. Struck up a deal with Jason who beat the prices we had seen elsewhere on the matching dishwasher and range. He helped us out with a small freezer for our son's new condo to boot. We were out when the delivery guys came, but had left the garage door open for them and they dropped the stuff, took a pic and texted us. Great experience!

They are the worst! Our stove has not been functioning for more than 6 days. The tech called 3 hours after agreed time, and we said we were not home.he said there was no possibility to rebook.called cost the following morning to rebook and they transfer to multiple people.finally got to speak to someone in service he read me the tech note "job complete they were not home". This issue is still not resolved been!

This better be a warning to everyone they will do what ever it take to not fulfil their warranty commitment. We have year warranty from the builder. Bottom line is they are unwilling to help their customer once they get their money they don't care

Awful customer service… we ordered a fridge with Cory back in December for delivery in February. No call, no reach out, day of set delivery nothing arrives. Trying to get a hold of him multiple times, receptionist sending me to his voicemail, weeks without a response. Called again to find out Cory is no longer even working there.got transferred to someone else, only to be left hanging. It’s now April, with no fridge. We have been patiently waiting since December now, and it’s the only thing stopping us from moving in to your new home. Can’t even get a refund. Huge disappointment… PLEASE do not come here looking for good customer service.

i bought a new house and they promised to deliver my refrigerator right away but then they said it will be delayed another month which i thought is ok in this busy time!
it has to be delivered by November 1st and it's already dec 25th the Christmas eve and I'm still waiting for my refrigerator.i called several times and they told me Katey will call u back and she never did!
they are the worst guys ive seen in my life!
i bought a new house and i don't have the refrigerator i ordered!

This review is for both North and South location:

North location - Limited choices. Inquired about certain items and one of their sales reps was going to get back to me but never did. They also advertised items in the store with wrong SKU numbers (old discontinued models with SKU number for new models).

South location - Sales person basically told us that what we had in mind for our fridge and stove was not any good. Also said Blomberg is a Bosch brand (it's BEKO and from Turkey not from Germany although Bosh in North America is probably made in the US anyways). Also their deals are not as good as they sound, check the labels underneath their promo prices (see pictures).

What happens when you buy a Bosch coffee maker for thousands of dollars, wait 6.5 months for it to arrive, and get at most 20 coffees out of it before it dies and is considered unfixable? The solution from the people at Coast Appliances is to get a used floor model of a Jennair (which we don't want and wouldn't fit the space) or to wait again until March 2022 when a new Bosch might or might not show up. Apparently giving back our dead machine and asking for a refund is out of the question. So if you're looking for a great shopping experience don't come here. The other thing I should add is that I was told by our sales rep in May that if we didn't take the other appliances once they were in (and fully paid for) he would have to give them to the next person in line waiting for them, For anyone doing kitchen renovations, you know timelines are more fluid than you'd like them to be. So be careful with these people. What they say and promise isn't what they do in real life.

Had to buy a new fridge and microwave so I checked out their website. Saw a french door style stainless steel fridge that fit our budget and looked great. Went in and was introduced to Cory Phillips. The fridge we wanted was out of stock with a long delivery. I never thought of the stock thing. Covid has really messed up deliveries for pretty much everything.
Anyway, we didn't want to wait until December so Cory went searching for a unicorn. Presto! He found one in stock in the Calgary warehouse. We bought it and a microwave. He had 1 left in stock. That was Saturday. Delivered them today. Looks, fits, and works awesome!
Cory really came through. Was great to work with and cares!

Their product support and warranty is so bad, they do not care our problem and do not send anybody to check and fix the problem.we bought a cooktop from them after one month it was not working properly and the knobs were melted. We called them and now it is around 6 months that they did not come to fix the problem. I am so disappointed and I will not recommend them to anybody.

The only reason it isn't 5 stars is a bit of a story. Short version is this.when first looking for appliance package for a renovation, they only carried 3 of the 6 items I was looking for, so I went with another supplier (hence, not the 5 stars) However, a week out from delivery, the other supplier told me they didn't have one of the appliances. Coast was my first call, and they had it. They were tremendous dealing with, even though it was a single item. Jason was the salesperson and he was awesome. I would definitely recommend them. Based on this single transaction, I would have given 5 stars, but based on the fact they didn't initially have what I wanted, I can only go with 4.

We needed a few appliances for our new build and went in with some specific questions. Jay took the time to listen first and then showed us some options. Then he listened some more to help us narrow down what we wanted to consider. He was knowledgeable across product lines and categories, but was never “pushy”. He never tried to up-sell us on anything, and even showed lower cost options with the same features.

Highly recommend this store!

Long delays getting our appliances (6 months) which is somewhat understandable given the current situation, though would be nice to be kept up to date when 4 weeks turns into 6 months. Also make sure you keep track of exactly what you're paying as it we had to correct the agreed upon prices a few times. Coast also claims to have a price match guarantee, but it seems to be when they feel like it - ie they wouldn't price match outr dishwasher with Costco a week or so after we received it.

Worst though, the fridge was delivered with a couple of dents we didn't notice right away, and by the time we brought it up, it was too late. Apparently we had 48hrs to make any damage claims, but were never told about this. Will be shopping elsewhere next time.

Showrooms are poorly layed out and most items we were looking for weren't anywhere to be found. I get they can't have everything on the floor but they seemed to mostly have the really expensive models with limited mid tier items on display.

For days I researched the model of the Panasonic microwave I wanted and where to find it. I checked Amazon and every retailer in Calgary and by phone confirmed no one had it. I didn’t want to settle for another model and I didn’t want to wait for two weeks for the next closest alternative. Various store web sites provided availability information which I confirmed by phone were not accurate. Coast Calgary however showed two in stock and to my surprise in calling the south store confirmed they did in fact have two in stock. In a very quick and efficient manner Shauna who I discovered knows a lot about every brand of appliance was able to process the purchase of the exact microwave I wanted. And to further confirm her excellent customer service commitment and care for the customer offered a sale price that wasn’t even in effect until the following day. And this was a sale I knew nothing about. She also provided an extended warranty for a price that seemed worthwhile and reasonable. So if you are like me shop on line or by phone everywhere and then call Coast Appliances for the product and deal you want. Or just call them knowing you are getting excellent customer service of a range of product that is locally available and at a price that can’t be beat. Hope this helps you make the purchase that some find exciting to pursue but others just want to get completed as quickly and smartly as possible. So been there done that don’t think you will be disappointed. Good luck.

I had to buy a refrigerator because our current one died. I was limited by the existing fridge opening in our kitchen and Jay was able to quickly show me several options that met this criteria. He has great product knowledge. And he arranged for the new fridge to be delivered in a day and a half. This was a very easy choice and a smooth transaction. Thank you so much. I will definitely return to Coast Appliances when I replace other appliances and will unhesitatingly reach out to Jay to facilitate future purchases.
