Me and my partner had a good time and staff were friendly but definitely a pricy date! We got 2 small/ medium items and a coffee and bottle of juice and it was about 160$

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at the Color Cafe, with lots of pottery to choose from and delicious food and drinks! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were also able to get to learn a little more about the company and will definitely be coming back again!

My fiancé and I loved our experience painting here! The owner went above and beyond to make sure our visits were spectacular. It is a tad on the pricey side, but a great date night or special occasion.

We booked the private room for a 60th Birthday Party. The experience was amazing. We had 6 people, and all 6 canvas paintings turned out completely different! (In a good way that is). The instructor helped to personalize the experience for each of us. Even though we started with the same reference painting, we got to completely customize them and make them our own. It was even the first time ever painting for a couple of us, and you wouldn't be able to tell from the final results.

Communication with Color Cafe was great too. Very responsive, prompt emails, and no issues at all. We also got a liquor license so that we could bring our own wine to the event. They provided glasses and kept us topped up throughout.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an awesome paint night type experience.

I rented the private room for my friends birthday over the weekend and we had such a blast. The owner, Joe, was such a sweetheart, so kind and fun. He let us stay past our reservation to finish painting. There are so many options to choose from, and the staff are always around to give you a hand if needed (all of them were super sweet). I can’t wait to pick up all our items in 5 days and see how everything looks.

Thank you to all of the amazing staff on Saturday, our friend had a great time and we will definitely come back again!

A great place to hangout with friends and paint functional and/or fun pottery pieces. It can be pricey though.

Great place to go to for a fun and relaxing time with friends! Food and drinks are on the higher end price-wise but the presentation and flavour make up for it, definitely recommend the staff was very kind as well:)

By far the best pottery painting studio I’ve ever been to! The staff were so friendly and kind. We were very well looked after and had such a relaxing time. You’re able to have a hot drink and treat while you paint too! We’ll be back

When I was a kid I used to go to colour me mine a lot. Coming back to colour cafe reminded me of the fun I used to have as a kid. The kind and helpful staff are really patient at helping me choose my item and everything’s been ready on time. Everybody who works at this establishment are passionate about their work and delivering an excellent customer experience. Overall I would say regardless of your age this location can really give you a fantastic experience and a great art piece to take home.

Pottery wheel was amazing! It was a small group of 4 and we were allowed to take 2 creations each. My gf made 1 and I made 2 and JJ let us take hers. Was a ton of fun!

If you want to be involved in a pottery class, this is the place to go. Such a welcoming environment run by a wholesome family. I did a pottery class for the first time here, an it was pure joy. JJ is incredibly experienced and has the best encouragement and guidance with the class. The little cafe has incredible treats you can snack on, as well. I wish I knew about this place sooner! I look forward to coming back here to paint the bowl I made!

Was here for the paint by candlelight valentines day event and had an amazing time they handed out chocolates and took photos of us and constantly made sure people had everything they needed to continue being able to paint and have fun

Absolutely amazing environment with above and beyond stall. Went tonight for a valentines date to check out their ‘Paint by Candlelight’ event and was not let down. The owner was very friendly and hard working, his wife and daughter were both as delightful. I highly recommend coming here to relax, paint, do workshops, snack, drink, and socialize. What a lovely experience, thank you to all the workers who made my date so special️

From the handy educational video on how to get started (which for a newbie like myself was very helpful) to the delicious muffin and coffee I had at the cafe, you cannot go wrong visiting Color Cafe! We had a great time, and our art pieces came out beautifully!

Color Cafe is the perfect place for a special date night activity, birthday gift, or just to unwind and be relaxed. It was our first time doing pottery on the wheel, and surely won't be the last. JJ is an amazing teacher, kind, patient, fun and encouraging. The studio is very welcoming with nice music in the background and a wonderful cafe at the front.

I took my fiancé here and we had an amazing time! I reserved as a table, but didn’t have to pay anything upfront. We came in were greeted by multiple people, who all offered instructions and support. They checked in a few times while we were there for about 2.5 hrs. We got a few drinks and they just add them to your tab later so that’s cool. They had so many kind of pieces to choose from, lots of variety in size and style. My fiancé and I both picked pieces that were about 60$. And I just got the email they our pieces are ready for pick up, only about 2 days later!
10/10 experience! We had a blast, it was warm and welcoming, busy but not too busy.
*my fiancé asked me to add that they had Star Wars stuff and that made his whole experience choosing what to paint much more challenging lol

The staff here are exceptional. My car was hit in the parking lot while picking up pottery. They gave me water and let me wait inside until it all got sorted out. I am so grateful. They have a wonderful selection of pottery or clay handbuilding. Highly recommend this location.

The staff was super friendly and helpfull, they explained everything and were overall amazing. When we painted it was so relaxing and fun, I absolutely recommend checking this place out. Can't wait to return!

We bought a gift card back in December. At that time, this company was called Color Me Mine. We tried to use the gc at color me mine and there was never any money put onto it. Color me mine is now being completely disregarded and ignored by this "new" store and we have no trace of the 150 dollars. So don't go here for any support.

Was excited to come here, I missed pottery glazing ever since Clayground in Avenida closed. Great atmosphere and selection, and I appreciate that there isn't a limit on the number of paints and palettes you can use, unlike Clayground.

The item I painted had a couple problems. For some reason there was a random number written on the bottom that wasn't in my own handwriting. There was also a few marks that looks like it's from a blue ballpoint pen. I never used a pen or a blue fine-line paint bottle but maybe it could have been from the speckled paint I used so that's fine. I really don't know how to explain the number though?

Another thing is I don't like how they don't give you any bag or tissue paper to protect your piece when you take it home. Additonally, they just let you pick your piece from the shelf so anyone could just walk away with someone else's item. Sure it may be unlikely but it's still a possibility and the casual way the employees just let you pick up your item is a bit weird. Clayground wrapped everyone's piece in layers of protective tissue paper and also added a label to each piece with the owner's personal information and a quick description of the item, which they confirmed with your receipt when picking up. When I picked up here, they didn't ask to see anything and just told me to find my item.

Overall the place is really inviting and a great place to spend time with your friends. It's awesome that they have long hours because it can take a long time to finish your piece and like I said, no limit on paints is fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful too. The pickup process just lacks professionality.

This is fun and amazing place to go for people of all ages who enjoys doing arts and crafts! I have two students who loves to go to this studio as staff are like family and are always around to help out. This studio also offers discount for people with disabilities which is really great! Great for family bonding, art class and so much more!

I would give 4/5 stars except for the dog. The dog was not a pleasant experience. He/she would bark, which startled my daughter and I on several occasions, a couple of which caused my daughter to almost drop her pottery and I had to stop painting to calm my nerves. I also have allergies and asthma and the tension I felt with the dog, nearly caused my asthma to trigger due to anxiety. Not to mention the presence of the dog in an establishment that serves food seems unsanitary. I kindly asked for the dog to be removed, but it continued to be kept in the back. Disappointed! Will think twice about ever returning to that location.

It was a fun experience while we we’re at Color Me Mine, I had a great time painting the pottery that I choose, it so relaxing while you painting your pot, there’s no rush in doing it. The staff are so accommodating to all the things that you while I’m there, there’s lots and lots of paint colours you can choose for. I encourage other people to try, it’s amazing. And the finish crafts that you made it’s beautiful and awesome.

I work with adults with disabilities and often come in to paint. We've always been treated with respect and kindness! The owners are wonderful and make us feel welcome every time =)

Great experience! I went there for my birthday and they were absolutely delightful, even sang me happy birthday and offered me a pieve kf cake wich I wasn't expecting at all. Spent some lovely time:) thank you to the color me mine staff!

Color me mine has the most diverse ceramic pieces. You really can explore your creativity by painting them. People working there are just amazing, and they make you feel like home. I will be coming back very soon. Thank you for the great experience!

What can I say? I came in, I was made to feel comfortable, and I had a blast! Going in to pick up my little sculpture tomorrow, and I can't wait!

Hosted a wonderful ceramics painting event for over 30 med students at Colour Me Mine Kensington! With JJ’s help it was incredibly easy to plan and she ensured everyone participating had a great time. And the turn around on the finished pieces was incredibly fast!

It was the perfect post exam activity to relieve stress and connect with classmates- can’t wait to come back:)

I contacted Color Me Mine as the fundraising director of Science FUNdamentals, a non-profit, and JJ was super kind about donating BEAUTIFUL hand-painted pieces to our silent auction! As this non-profit is new to Calgary, we really counted on businesses such as this to donate:)

Friendly staff, and very helpful, understanding and patient. Nice selection, and you can choose to paint what you buy there or at home and they provide you with the paint for iether place you choose to paint. As well as seal them. The price of the figure includes all. My daughter and I are painting ours at home and bringing them back to seal, as I want my daughter to take time to focus on the details.

The staff was super friendly and genuinely cared about people’s experiences at their shop. Would go back and highly recommend!

Cute little place place with friendly staff. Had fun painting and the end result was beautiful. Never felt rushed by the staff to finish. Parking isn't the best and it was expensive. Although the price is a result of the work that goes into the beautiful end project.

Came here multiple times and had a great time every time. Great customer service and an amazing atmosphere as it was incredibly peaceful. Variety of options when it comes to items you can paint. Would definitely recommend if you ever need somewhere to go with friends!

This location is the best one! They are open late and the staff is friendly and so helpful! We tried to finish our painting at another location closer to us and they would not let us, and we’re so unprofessional about it. The manager at Kensington, was so welcoming and let’s customers paint as long as they want to and from any location! So you can achieve the perfect painting and get your money’s worth! Highly recommend coming to Kensington Colour Me Mine for a friends night out or a date night!

We made a reservation for 6 (4 adults and 2 late teens) in advance, specifically because we were connecting with family and hoped to drink some coffee while painting items and catching up on a rainy day. Upon arrival, we noted the shop was clean and well organized and our table was set up nicely awaiting us. However, there was limited smaller item selection for beginners to tackle, and medium to large pieces were priced between $70-$90 and higher, which was unexpected. I'm not sure if that is typical, but a bit steep for a first timer taking on a new craft. It would be nice if there were a better selection of smaller, inexpensive starter pieces for newbies. Just a heads up, and maybe a timing thing. We were also quite disappointed to learn that there was no coffee/tea/Cafe items available to us afterall, as staff notified us the "coffee machine was down", despite being told at the time of the reservation being made that it would be available. To us, it's part of what set this shop apart from the others in our decision of where to go, so that was sad to hear. Staff was helpful in explaining how it all worked and getting us started with our task. Any time we needed assistance they were attentive and polite. However, at the end when we wanted to pay, they told us the credit/debit machine was "down", and we had to pay cash or etransfer. It would have been better to hear this at the start of our experience, but it's possible the state of the machine changed shortly before we were done ‍️ It was just a rather inconvenient bit of news to discover after the disappointment of selection and lack of cafe. A member of our party had to leave the area to locate an ATM. Overall, it was a mildly disappointing experience, with a series of let downs that were likely out of the control of staff, so we may try again at a later date now that we know what to expect. Overall, cost just under $300 for the six of us.

The staff are super friendly, helpful and fun to be around. They always have little events that make the painting experience even more enjoyable. The last one I attended was painting with goats. I am not really a painter but there are lots of little things you can do to make your piece fun and enjoyable and something you would want to display. Whenever my spouse and I are in doubt about how to spend an afternoon we choose Color Me Mine in Kensington. They have so many options to choose from and there is more than one kind of experience you can have. From ceramics, to glass, to canvas. Great for a date, or fun with the kids. The owners always remember our names and so we feel really special when we go in. The piece below had not been kilned yet! Also.the goats were part of the experience on the day I went! Also, they have a little cafe inside where you can get a beverage and sometimes a little snack if they have them (I think because of covid the snacks went away).

I have recently started coming to Color Me Mine in Kensington to paint and fire my custom pottery pieces. All of the staff members and owners are extremely friendly and helpful, I always feel welcomed when I come in. The paint quality is great and the hours are very convenient too.

Its truly been a huge blessing finding this place and space to work in. I highly recommend it!

Color Me Mine generously donated some painted items to a silent auction fundraiser for Wild Rose Rabbit Rescue. We are so appreciative of your support to our local rescue, especially in such a tough time like a pandemic. I'll have to come back again sometime to paint one for myself!

I came here on two occasions and unfortunately my experience was not the best.the owner and employees all disregarded the mask mandate in Calgary, and came up to me numerous times without a mask on, and just did not have a mask on in general.this made me feel unsafe, and it is not my responsibility as a customer to tell them to wear a mask while coming up to me.they also did not put on a mask while i was at the check out, which is an instance where i cannot distance from them.not to mention, they did not sanitize anything or clean their bathrooms either time I was there.this all happened before the mask mandate was lifted in Alberta keep in mind.very unfortunate as I went here to relieve my anxiety and instead was met with a situation that gave me even more.

We had to follow up numerous times to receive a refund for special order items that never arrived. This made us feel like they wanted to keep our money. If we didn’t continue hounding them, we’re not sure we would have ever received our refund. To make matters worse, the owners have emailed us numerous times, pressuring us to take down our review. They seem very pushy, which made us very uncomfortable. We wish we never stepped foot in this place, as a simple special order has turned into a fiasco.

Terrible experience.

My 5 year old son dropped his little dish while carrying it to the cash, he was pretty upset and almost in tears as he worked so hard on it.
We asked if it could be glued (it only broke in two places and the owner suggested it would be sharp and dangerous.

Owner told us to grab another one and then made a comment like “well now you get to do two” (which is totally not the point) after that the owners (husband and wife argued loudly about it) and we quickly repainted a new one.

As I went to pay, I was charged for both pieces. The new one and the broken one. I understand that we painted it, but a child had an accident and felt horrible. The owner is clearly money hungry and doesn’t care about customer service at all!

To top it off the place was packed (way over Covid capacity) and the washrooms were filthy. We were there for 2 hours and didn’t see anyone sanitize the paints or any of the high touch areas. Very reckless and we will not be back. Disappointing experience.

Came here this month and it was way too expensive to come back. They asked several times if we wanted beverages (that are way overpriced). It’s hard to say no to the kids when someone keeps asking. The ceramics were small and unremarkable especially for the cost. Kids weren’t that interested.

I love colour me mine franchises but I would be hesitant to come to this location again. Me and my five year old had a great time painting but once we went to pay it was extremely over priced $140+. The ceramics are not labeled with the price so make sure you ask before you start painting. My son was offered a hot chocolate while I was getting paint for both of us (without having request it) and at the end we were charged for the drinks and a gratuity. Just make sure you understand the costs up front to avoid surprises.

If I could rate it less than 1-star, I would. Just before Christmas I stopped in to pick up some take-home kits for two different families. We were planning virtual paint parties with the kids. I generally paint at the Aspen location, which is incredible. Kensington was a more convenient location choice for us when it came to picking up and dropping off items. I called prior to stopping by to learn about COVID protocols and pricing. I was told me to stop by and pick out the pieces, paint and materials are included, they'd help with organizing it all.

3 staff were onboard, including the owner, who apparently by December 2020, still hadn't learned how to wear a mask properly. Two groups of people were in-house painting. After I picked out the 6 mugs and they offered two Christmas ornaments for free. They told me to pick my colours, 6 per item. They gave me plastic cups to fill myself and offered no help. The paint-fill stations was a free-for-all zone, where every customer was helping themselves to what they wanted, when they wanted, not distancing, or even putting paints back in the right place. Not once did the staff sanitize this high touch place. (For the record, Aspen doesn't even permit customers to pour their own paints right now, this is a service they do for customers.)

After an hour of pouring paint, while my son was waiting in the car the whole time, I was ready to pay. Was told to pick my brushes, then in an old-school car salesman type fashion, the guy proceeded to tell me about these incredible brushes that just came in. I asked how many to pick. He said as many as I want, it's good to have a few different sizes. So I picked 3 for each much and 2 for each ornament. I then proceeded to pay, it had been over an hour, was really ready move on, but when I went the car I couldn't help but think "that was really expensive, the owner charged me over $350. So I read the receipt, to discover an additional $60 charge. I went back in and after I pointed this out, he said it was for the brushes. He charged me $3 per brush, after confirming they were included. Then I noticed another charge, 15% gratuity. For what I asked? They said it's a standard charge they add to all orders. Firstly, this was never communicated with me on the phone or when I arrived to ask about the process. Second, 15% gratuity for what service. I did all the work, while the staff did nothing to help.

I demanded a refund for the brushes and said, I'll just make an extra stop at the dollar store. I bought the exact same brushes he was talking up. Packs of 8-12 brushes for $3, and he's ripping customers off by charging $3/brush.

The refund process was a mess, he couldn't even figure out how to put money back on my card, so just ended up giving me $60 cash. He didn't even take my proper contact information, so when I needed to drop off the painted items for firing, there were delays. When I was called to say it was ready, there were more issues, as he didn't initially record all my contact information properly.

I'm all for supporting local businesses these days, but equally in support of calling out the bad ones who try to take advantage of customers and refuse to even wear a mask over their nose at this point. Will drive the extra 15 minutes to support the tried, tested, true and honest people at the Aspen Location next time.

We had the most amazing experience here! Both staff were so helpful and amazing throughout. We had so many laughs and spent so much time there we had to come back and finish the next day! Would highly recommend as a fun family activity, we made pieces that will have a special place in our home forever.

Just what my family needed. A great way to connect with the kids and have some fun getting creative. The staff and owners were so friendly and welcoming! It helped us feel relaxed and calm. A wonderful experience for all ages and artistic abilities.
