I love it here. I've gone a few times now for a cut and colour by Avary and have been so happy with the result each time! Highly recommend. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming, their recycling program is awesome, and I love that they play throwback music!

My haircut was uneven, I eventually had to get it corrected. I was the hairdresser's last client of the day, so I think she rushed. The girls there are very nice tho.

Very knowledgeable, great location. I am very lucky about my hair and on top of that my hair is challenging as there's lots of it and it likes to turn yellow any chance it gets so color knowledge and patience are very important. Been going there a few years now and I don't plan on leaving.

Best haircut of my life! I'm 45 and have been receiving excellent haircuts from amazing stylists around Calgary for years.but by chance, I was not able to get on with my usual salon and tried Colours instead (because it was a convenient location). The salon did not serve me on time, and Avery was not very chatty, BUT, she gave me the best haircut I can remember in history:)

I had come across this studio on Groupon - not looking for anything in particular! When I saw the deal I thought I'd give it a try as I was in need of a trim. Purchasing it last minute and calling to see if they had availability the following day, I was lucky enough to get in! I was informed that I was booked with Jacklynn (Salon Owner and Lead Stylist) who usually does not accept groupons (understandably). I would also like to add in here that I was asked to put a credit card on file - which I've seen in some other reviews people are offended by. I think its a great system for booking - these ladies are blocking off a time slot to convenience us and our hair needs! No shows and last minute cancellations result in loss time and money for a company that depends on their clients to run! As long as you plan follow through with the commitment you've made, this should not be of any offence. I had in the back of my mind that I wanted a significant change as it had been some time. When I was told I was booked with a Lead Stylist I decided maybe this was the time! I usually stick to just a trim and rarely even layers. Once I spoke to Jacklynn I felt comfortable she would provide me with what I had envisioned. So we went with bangs! I couldn't be happier with the result and I HIGHLY recommend this salon. The groupon was a nice treat but let me tell you - the experience of feeling very welcome and in good hands would be all worth the full cost of this service. She was so helpful and informative with options of colour as well. No colouring services were done at this appointment but I can guarantee I will be returning when I am ready to start the process of changing my hair colour! They also have a referral and advanced booking promotions. 10/10 would recommend:)

Do not come to this salon, especially if you are wanting red hair. Here is my experience. I bought the Groupon for Solid Color, Wash, Cut, Etc for $70.00. I booked my appointment and ended up trying to re-schedule because I had to leave for Winnipeg early due to a family emergency. I called 23 hours ahead and asked to re-schedule my appointment but was told that I would lose my Groupon if I did this. I understood this because they have a 24-hour cancellation policy (even though I was only 1 hour off) and so decided to rearrange my family commitments and leave for Manitoba a bit later. I came to my appointment and got there 5 min early and was asked to sit and wait until my stylist was ready. I sat for 25 min waiting and was called up. The stylist, Jackie, seemed very nice and knowledgeable (at first) and I told her I wanted bright red hair and showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. She said she wasn’t sure if that color of red would suit my skin tone and asked if it could be a bit different shade of red and I said that was fine. 3.5 hours later, I end up with hot pink hair! That is not what I wanted at all. I am not the type of person to complain (and to be honest inside the shop, it wasn’t as bad as when I walked outside). When I got home my boyfriend was so surprised cause I had went in there wanting red hair. It faded extremely fast as well. And it cost me over $300! I got an opinion two other professionals in the industry, and they both said she never should have lightened my hair before adding the red and were extremely confused as to why my hair ended up being pink, not red. I just recently had my hair dyed the original color I had wanted at a different shop and it looks great and goes very well with my skin tone! The entire price for my new color was considerably less. In a nutshell, this salon is completely out to lunch on their prices and have hidden costs, and staff comes across as knowledgeable but don’t even understand the basics of hair colouring (the color wheel). Be careful when coming to this salon.

You did not address the part that was most disappointing to me in your comment, the fact that my hair turned out hot pink instead of red. The money & other things weren’t the part that frustrated me if it had turned out like I had wanted. The fact was that it was completely a different color than what I had showed her. And it was not “corrective color”. My hair was my natural light brown. There is no reason it should have came out pink.

Avary gave me a haircut and she was so nice! Contrary to one of the reviews about her, I was sure right from the moment I entered that i would be given a good treatment overall. She was gentle with my hairwash, blowdrying as well as swift with the cut. I found her very informative and professional. She even recommended some shampoos and took a closer look at my scalp as I had some issues. I would recommend this place and will definitely go again!
P. S: They play great songs which lift you up rather than get bored throughout the haircut process!

Cash grab for missed appointment. Took $37 groupon coupon for missing an appointment. No negotion owner is full of herself and has no notion of customer service. Don't go there.

Wow! This place asks for your credit card number before you can even book appointment with them. So they can charge you if you don't give them 24hr notice before cancelling/reschedule your appointment. This is worse than telephone fraud. They don't even need to try to convince you and just ask upfront with a condescending vioce. I don't even know who's on the other side of the phone. A 10 year old probably knows not to share private information to strangers. Although I do understand the inconvenience for no-shows, but demanding credit card info on the phone from first-time customers is not gonna help with your business. I'm going to avoid this place at all cost.

I started going to colors in 2015 when I was told the owner could help me with continuous issues I was having with hair products and my sensitive skin. WOW am I ever glad I took that chance! Since then Jacklynn and her Team have been my only go to for all things hair care. They bend over backwards for their clients; for example Colors no longer carries the line of product I use yet Jacklynn orders it specifically for me. If I do have a breakout from a product we try; she finds another for me. She is a hair Goddess and believes in continuous education for herself and Team. I highly recommend Colors; specifically Jacklynn of course but the entire Team is wonderful. Hair day is always the best!

Avary did my hair today. I feel bad for saying this but she was bad. She seemed timid while doing my hair. I used a Groupon to try a new mission hairsalon and I regret it. She did an uneven cut, I had to point it out that the right side was longer. She thinned it out but after I got home and showered, I noticed that it's unevenly cut still. The back of my hair wasn't even done properly and is a bit longer than my sides? I had to square off my own side burns! Wow. She also burnt me with the hair dryer once. She didn't know how to use hair paste or style my hair. I asked her to style and she said "oh, I usually let guys style it themselves" lol what? I regret going to this salon. Never again. I don't recommend. I was in such a rush to pay and leave that I forgot my jacket. Had to go back and grab it. She even had the nerve to give me business cards to refer the salon. Yeah, no. Now I'll have to go to my main hairsalon in Mission (Hair Studio Mission) and embarrassingly explain that I tried a different place for the sake of trying but they messed it up and if they can fix it for me. Lovely. *update* I went back and Avary acknowledged a mess up but she STILL didn't fix it properly, she tried but it still looks bad. Slow clap. I meet up with a friend who even came with me and she noticed without me saying anything that it was a bad haircut. I complained to Groupon and they've refunded me the money. I'm very happy with Groupon for listening, they earned a loyal client. I just wanted a regular mens haircut but got an all day ordeal instead. Plus the other lady hairdresser made a snarky comment "you can't complain about something you can't see" when I complained about the back if my head. Omg, she was coloring another client so I just kept my mouth shut. Never going back or recommending.

I was 5 mins late for my appointment, no one else was waiting when I showed up but I was made to wait another 15 mins before getting started. Hair stylist was SUPER awesome though we got along great and I left really happy with my cut. 3 stars because the administration sucks at booking clients. While I was finishing up another lady came fore her booking with the same stylist but she had to wait a pretty long.

I went with a groupon looking for a new salon last year. I can't remember who cut my hair but it was so uneven and badly done that the hairdresser I went to next (a few months later) asked me if I cut my own hair. The reviews looked decent but I guess the girl who did my hair was new or didn't know what she was doing!

Was looking for a new salon and bought a friupon to try this place out- what a mistake.
I showed up 10 mins early for my appointment and my assigned stylist was finishing up with her previous client. I was told by the owner no less, that they would “get to me when they could”.
After waiting 45 minutes, someone else washed my hair. When my stylist finally got to me and asked what I wanted- I said I was just looking to clean up my ends and re-frame my face with layers. My hair was halfway down my back. I said the only things I DIDNT WANT was to lose much length, I didn’t want it all one length, and I didn’t want a blunt cut.
My stylist said “I didn’t even get to see your hair dry”. I should have left right then.

I ended up with hair barely reaching my shoulders, all one length, and big, blunt ends. I look like I’m in the second grade and my mother cut my hair for school pictures.

Will never go back. Poor service from start to finish.
