This trip is so worth it I never thought I could directly set foot on the ice field Take a ride in a specially designed red icefield expedition vehicle The introduction by the staff on the process car was also great. You can get a general understanding of the entire ice sheet. It's quite emotional to think of the rapid retreat of the ice sheet.
There were so many people and cars coming and going. Time is limited on the ice sheet, but it’s enough
It is recommended to dress warmly because the wind is very strong on the ice sheet. It is recommended to wear sunglasses if you have them Because the reflection on the ice sheet is so dazzling
You can also bring a bottle of glacial water Very pure
A great experience! Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because it is a very interactive tour and I am more of a “sit in silence and look out the window” person on tours, so it was a lot for me but our guide Rocco was very informative and fun and kept the energy levels high! I would like there to be more information about the geology and formation of the glacier and surrounding Rockies, I feel like the tour has a big focus on climate change which can be repetitive when most people know that climate change = melting glaciers. But again, just personal preference! Dress warm because the wind coming off the icefields is cold
We arrived and it started snowing already on the way, it was fun. The visibility was not so good, diving was still an experience, the prices are not cheap
If you join one of these tours and take a bus onto the glacier, you’re supporting a company that has transformed a national wonder into a parking lot. Irreversible terraforming to a highly sensitive environment, which has been receding at increasing speeds since records begun.
The foot path from the glacier provides incredible views and causes no direct damage.
Awesome experience! We couldn’t wait for few hours till next bus to icefield, but went only to skywslk. Though there’s a restaurant and sturbucks with stunning icefield view
The experience to stand on icefield was unique. The vehicle to take to outfield was unique experience. Skywalk was overrated. I suggest you buy icefield tickets as it cover skywalk. Dont just byy skywalk.
I've done this many years ago and decided to do it again! The experience was very different from before! I think it's because the glacier has been receding and we had to take a bus to the glacier instead of just walking right up on it! It was an experience for anyone that loves to walk on the glacier and even drink the glacier water! It was so refreshing and ice cold! Definitely worth it! The ticket also includes the skywalk!
The little walk at the foot of the glacier tells us everywhere that the glacier is in danger, that we must make small personal efforts to slow down the melting of the glaciers, but on the other hand the Pursuit company sends huge buses to this glacier. It's nonsense, buying a ticket from this company just kills the glacier a little more. At this speed, in 20 years the glacier will no longer exist. Ask Parks Canada employees, those who are truly nature lovers, they will advise against doing it.
Superbe expérience, l’équipe est vraiment agréable, accueillante et drôle. Profitez du parcours dans ces bus géants et marchez sur le glace de Columbia. Impressionnant!
The weather was bad when we went to the ice field. It rained heavily. We had no umbrellas or raincoats and we were almost freezing! Fortunately, there is a heater on the bobsleigh, otherwise it would be unbearably cold.
Be sure to wear warm clothes, especially gloves! ! Otherwise, if your hands are not in your pockets, you will get frostbite immediately, but it is a very fun and special experience.
The water in Bingyuan is drinkable, very clean and sweet. I heard from the driver that many people have improved their diseases or health after drinking this water. I don’t know if it has any curative effect, but it’s true that it tastes good
Fantastic visitor centre with super friendly staff, efficient transport to the various parts of the experience, funny and knowledgeable drivers and guides for the glacier and skywalk - an absolute must-do when in the area!
I did the small walk to the foot of the glacier and there are some signs to explain some things about the glacier but the major thing is that the glacier melt and Pursuit send huge thermic buses all days, it's non sense and Parc Canada employees confirms me that they don't recommend to do it.
Nice views. But the glacier itself is getting destroyed due to too much traffic. Do the hike if you can. It's not too hard. Otherwise enjoy the view from a distance. It's not worth spending the money on tour bus. Not only it is bad for the glacier but you also don't get any better view by getting on the bus.
Firstly, Management, Sebastien and Chad are absolute legends and made this trip awesome.
We loved our time on the glacier. The guides were very fun and very informative. The ride on the big buses was worth it enough alone! Being on the glacier was fascinating, you learn about them from school and see them from afar but you can really appreciate the mass and size up there it's pretty mind-blowing.
The following bridge walk was okay, just another viewpoint really. Can't fault it but don't go out of your way to reach this.
Great way to explore the Althabasca glacier. The ride to the glacier is bumpy, the guides give you enough information about the glacier and the experience on the glacier is wonderful. Bring a water bottle so you can take some delicious glacier water with you!
