Comfort Inn & Suites University

Quite a good Comfort Inn hotel in Calgary (Canada).
The hotel is old, but cozy.
The rooms are not the best, but not bad either. Everything was clean except for one thing: there were stains on one of the beds and on the sheets.
The room had a fridge, a small kettle for coffee (but it was old and took a long time to heat the water), a microwave, a set of bags of coffee, tea, sugar, and disposable cups.
There ware also a safe and TV, but we didn't use them.
In the bathroom there was a shower kit (shampoo, hair conditioner, soap, and face wipes, and hair caps), toilet paper. Also towels of different sizes. The bathroom was very clean.
We didn't go to the restaurant, so I can't say anything about the food.
The location is good, 5-10 minutes walk from McDonald's, pizzeria, supermarket.
The tram is across the street from the hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff. At the reception, the workers are always friendly and when you need something, they help and suggest.
The hotel has a swimming pool and gym.
There is parking, but we didn't use it.
Since we had some circumstances and we needed to leave later. For late check-out they charged almost the entire amount of the room, which I think is too much.

This hotel is the WORST. We booked in for a getaway on the Friday because we has to euthanize our dog. When we arrived at 3pm on Friday, while my husband was checking in we were talking about how exited we were to use the pool.to our surprise the POOL was not working when we came down to use it. They never said anything! Poor poor communication.

Stayed here twice. Once in September 2021 and June/July 2023.

Both times were great visits with friendly staff, clean rooms and can't go wrong with the swimming pool. Location is great, right in front of a train station and restaurants nearby. Will definitely choose this hotel again

It was great but the keys didn’t work twice in a row most of the time. Up and down and up again on the elevator just for a key is quite annoying. I spent over $1100 here and they won’t give me my deposit back. Said they sent it but they lied because I checked with my bank and nothing was sent from comfort inn. I stayed at a different hotel a few days again and my deposit is already being processed. I mean if I’m spending over $1100 I should be able to get my deposit back. The guys that work there are pretty good at what they do. Not so much the girl. When it came down to the deposit they weren’t even searching my name for receipts they just said “we sent it and if it’s not there that’s not our problem” basically. I honestly would put this and Ramada in the same category. Decent breakfast and pool but other than that it’s not somewhere I’d like to go again. Spend your money at DoubleTree By Hilton. 100% better and the same amount! And they give deposits back.

While the staff was very pleasant, the room was dirty and unkempt. The bathroom counter was sticky with who knows what, the floor was filthy and there was an
Empty pizza box with rotting dip left in the closet from a previous guest. The staffs treatment, as said above was great and my concerns were met with appropriate care and i was thankfully granted a refund. It is unfortunate, though, that the housecleaning and property maintenence didn't allow room for comfort or cleanliness.

Didn't have a microwave in my room, would like to see a defrosted fridge & to have a choice
(like something in a bag.)

Box of serial small milk to go with it & a muffin or good choice & a practical choice that you can come up.

I have seen people putting their hand to scoop up leftover scramble eggs when their is no staff to refill.

The last time I had stayed at this location was in 2004 when it was fairly new. It appears that there have been no upgrades or renovations to it since then and the price for the queen 2 bed room does not make me want to return.

It was so gross curtains had stains the smell was gross and pool and hottub and gross scummy stuff all over

Our check in was a bit of a mess as they didnt want to honor my husbands reservations he made for me. But got it sorted.
No bath mat or wash clothes in room, nor any available to give us. Our toilet broke twice. No coffee maching in room, vending machines broken. Breakfast friday consisted of apples toast, and muffins with lemonade.
On saturday they had dry toast, scrambled eggs and yogurt.
No butter peanut butter, juice or fruit available. This has been my go to hotel for many years but will be looking at staying elsewhere from here on in.

Stayed there. Didn't like it. Stains and hair on the sheets. The room jacuzzi seemed like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Shot dirt out when turned on. Disgusting.

Avoid this place at all costs, the place is rundown and the rooms are disgusting, i go to calgary often and i stayed at many hotels by far this is the worst one of th all, dont be fooled by the price its cheap for a reason, broken lamps, stained walls, dirty bed sheets, coffe machine thats not suitable for human use as it hasnt been cleaned for years, u name it and the list goes on.

Last month i visit this hotel. I don’t know why its name is comfort, the name could be discomfort. Room he gave us very wet and smelly. We were there for vacation in Calgary but this hotel services was so bad. When i saw the room i immediately went his reception desk. They said we changed room but after3/4 hours, I don’t have enough time to wait because i have to execute my plans. Even they don’t refund me money when i asked reception desk team. Anyhow i spent my night there. When i woke up morning i have some rashes on my body which was more worst for me. And when i asked them they gave me an email to contact with manager team. Her Manager name is Kiran. She asked she will forward this email to his honour. But still not i got any solution. Now last couple of week i called them, they says our manager is not there. They always gave us same excuse. It was so ridiculous, manager always go on vacation. What a job, great i wish i have same job like that. So please who read my review don’t go there otherwise you guys spoil ur vacation just like us. BIG BiG DISCOMFORT level. Even they don’t deserve one star.

Room with 2 queen beds. 3 adults and 1 child stayed 2 nights.
We only had 2 towels and 1 roll of toilet paper in the room. Had to request more. No towels at the pool, No remote for the tv, a bottle of lotion left from the previous quests.
It was just an unexpected unpleasant stay.

I understand that some hotels probably jack up the prices of their rooms during Calgary Stampede weekend but the experience we had staying at this hotel was not worth the price we paid for two nights.

- There were only two face cloths and one hand towel in the room. When I requested more hand towels at the front desk the first night they said they only had two face cloths left and gave them to me. Also, the woman who helped us was coughing the whole time.
- The bathroom in our room was gross. There was a hair on the counter by the sink when we got in the room. There was also little to no pressure in the shower.
- Housekeeping still hadn’t come to clean our room after 4pm. We went out for a bit at night & came back to find our room was still untouched. According to reviews I read on here people said that apparently you needed to let a staff member know in advance if you wanted your room cleaned. No one told us this when we checked in. I would expect it to be like any other hotel; housekeeping cleans your room during the day if you are staying multiple nights without you having to request that.
- Our phone didn’t work in the room. The phone outlet was covered with tape. We tried phoning reception to get them to give us more towels since housekeeping hadn’t come to clean our room yet and it was after 4pm.
- When my fiancé went to request more towels at the front desk around 20 minutes after 4 they said that they wouldn’t get any up to us until after 6pm if we were lucky. When we came back to the hotel after a night out & requested more towels they had to grab extra from the basement.
- I know that this is out of the hotel’s control but this is a very sketchy area. Someone’s car window was broken into near the hotel & it smelled like urine near our parking spot when we first checked in.

AVOID.

If you are looking for a musty stench, milky pool, mold on the shower curtain, hairs in your bed and toilet paper roll falling off, then this place is for you. We complained and they did not make any effort to make it right. Really? I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is not the quality and service we would expect from a comfort inn.

They said the room is non smoking but the room smell smokes, the exhaust is not working at all.we paid almost 400 dollars the lady on the front they told me they gonna Messge as or call but been a weeks now they did not get back to us. Poor service

The Breakfast had expired yoghurt, scarmbled eggs that had clearly been in a steam table before as they had rock hard dehydrated chunks in them that don't occur in the 20 minutes that transpired between when breakfast started and when we got there. They ran out of plates. And other than expired yoghurt and who knows how many day old eggs you had a choice of muffin fragments and toast with raspberry jelly or margarine.

The ice machine is broken and front desk said they couldn't remember it not being broken.

The vending machine had three ancient crispy crunchy bars in it and nothing else.

The elevator had a chunk of flooring missing with sharp edges that I tripped on.

We stayed for 5 days our room wasn’t cleaned once! We went to the front desk our first day as our lamps and tv weren’t working - they moved us to another room, each day the room wasn’t cleaned - we went to the front desk and we’re told you have to request it to be cleaned, as most customers don’t like it. So we said consider this our request. That still didn’t make a difference, if it wasn’t for the towels at the pool - we would never have had clean towels. We made our beds daily; which didn’t bother us - We saw the cleaners cart in the hallway daily (no cleaner) so we were able to get soap and toilet paper off it at least. The phone in the rooms was disconnected all week.
The breakfast was ok (no juice available all week) and flimsy small paper plates only but the breakfast lady however was very sweet and friendly.
Eventually we all found it comical and just laughed at how bad it was - case in point we kept track of a sugar twin on the floor of the hallway ALL WEEK - we could have picked it up and thrown it in the trash. But we wanted to see if it would get cleaned up…Not while we were there!

We ended up staying here twice over the last week. Should have not come back a second time. The cleanliness of both rooms we had was not good. 1st room, found short curly hairs in the bed sheets, and stains everywhere. I don't believe they changed the sheets in between guests staying in this room. There was dirt in the bathtub, ring around the tub, and dirt behind the doors. The furniture was old, dirty and stained. 2nd room the AC was broken and the air in the room was muggy and hard to breathe. The room also smelled like a rank dog. It was brutal. We ended up buying a fan from the home depot up the street to cool off the room. The pros of the hotel are their staff. Their staff are kind and the only reason I came back the 2nd time. But unfortunately we won't be back a 3rd. It was just too dirty for me.

The service was awful and we were disrespected and given attitude by the staff. They gave us a hard time about getting clean towels. We only wanted clean towels because we didn’t want our towels smelling like chlorine from the pool. We were given an ear full, attitude and questioned because we asked for clean towels. Our key to our room didn’t work and the lady at the front desk didn’t believe us. So she walked with us up to the hotel room because she didn’t believe us that the key didn’t work. She then proceeded to give me heck that I must have been doing it wrong even though it didn’t work. We than were given a hand written note giving us heck that we should’ve let them know the day before to tell them we needed our room clean. When we only checked in the night before and they did not tell us that at the front desk at check in. We even called the day off to ask for our room to be cleaned. And all we asked for was new shampoo and conditioner because the lady on the phone yelled at us that we should have told them the day before in order to get cleaning services. Even though we pay for these services and the hotel room was not worth what we payed. We could not believe we were given a hand written note getting an ear full because we should have phoned the night we checked into the hotel for cleaning services. It was the last thing we needed coming back to a hotel room we paid $178.00 for to receive service that frankly disgusted us. We experienced awful customer service, the rooms were dirty and the hotel hot tub was out of order. The hotel was terrible and we will never be staying at a Comfort Inn and Suites ever again due to our experience. Whatever you do do not stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites University in Calgary. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The hotel looked like it had been trashed and we were very disappointed. Even our six year old commented on how awful it was. We even tried to complain twice and we were dismissed. Whatever you do do not stay here

I didn't have overly high standards, because the price was reasonable, but I did expect to have a clean comfortable stay.
That was not the case!
The room was quite dirty smears all over the chrome the bathtub hasn't actually been cleaned with cleaner it what looks to be a year, just been wiped down. The shower head is aweful the calcium build is so thick water barley comes out in any other setting, slurpee straws on the floor beside the couch. In the cupboards there was left over snacks from previous person. The AC did not work, and the list can go on. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There were no cups for water or to make a cup of coffee i have pictures to prove my comment's, but I am not sure I can upload them here

I came here with my family and hotel was sold out but the front desk agent working in the evening was very accommodating and he helped us to get a room after few minutes wait. We stayed 3 nights and the room was clean but there was some maintenance issues but the manager Karen made sure that our stay was comfortable. They do not clean our rooms everyday, i don't know if that was staffing issue or what. Hotel is little outdated, owners need to get some work done and specially with the furniture. But the manager and front desk staff make your staff welcoming. The location was great.

We tried getting a room to just stay for couple of nights and have fun and on the phone the front desk person told us yes there's rooms open you can come in, so we did and once we got there and saw us that we're Native first nations people they told us " oh there is no room and we can't take you " there demeanor changed we noticed they were racist to us natives so we just left we were sad and angry, so natives or colored people be careful when going here it's only for white people, STOP THE HATE, STOP THE RACISM

If I could give this hotel negative stars I would. My husband and I with our 2 children came for a quick trip for the weekend. For the $225 we were charged for Canada day we are so sick with what we experienced. Everything was DIRTY the entire hotel. Our room was disgusting! Carpets were filthy they definitely had not been vacuumed, the desk had glass rings all over it and it was sticky. It smelt musty and gross. The bed sheets were questionable also. The hot tub water looked yellow. There were wires coming out from by the microwave that were not properly secured or closed off. Our room was hot even though we tried to set the AC lower with zero improvements. There were no towels at the pool or a sign to say where to get any. The breakfast included in our stay was a shame. Dry expired Costco muffins, powdered eggs no less, juice machine down, etc.i could honestly go on and on. We are swearing off all Comfort Inns at this point especially this place! Do yourself a favour and sleep in your car. Shockingly I am normally an understanding and flexible person but this was too much even for me.

Some of the staff are like robots! Not suitable for staying more than two days! The swimming pool is the only highlight! To be fair, the location is perfect

My 2 daughters and I just got back from 5 day stay (week before stampede) at this hotel. The hotel looked very nice on the internet, but in reality it looked run down and dirty. Our room hadn't been cleaned, - 'had 2 towels for 3 people, no hand towels, no bathmat (a hazard for me at 85,) and one tiny sliver of soap.
In the room, one of the curtains was hanging off the rail, the lamp was broken, there was a T. V but no 'clicker', no cups to make a drink and the phone didn't work. I went downstairs to report this. The receptionist said, " I'll bring you a remote later on". Didn't arrive! Tired after long day of travel, including flight, we went to bed, thinking' 'tomorrow they'll clean and fix things'.
Next day, nothing done, and I went again, to talk to the desk staff. I was informed that rooms are only serviced on request. They gave us a room on the 4th floor which was a little better, - and I requested a clean up.
After 2 requests for cleaning, we gave up and in the five days stay, no one came to our room. Fortunately there was a Dollarama close by where we bought soap and cups etc. The garbage cans were full, our towels wet (finally we went to the pool area and took 3 towels for us to use in the bathroom. 0h and looking forward to a swim, we were disappointed to find it was a kiddie pool, small, with the deep end only waist deep.
The breakfast was O. K.but there was no juice, (on back order!) The hotel was convenient for the highway to Banff, which was the reason for choosing it, but throughout the week it was our ' Faulty Towers'. And we can laugh about it now.

I stayed there a few times already. I like the girl that checks me in and the fact they respect the dnd sign. The pool has swimming lessons every night that was NOT disclosed. There was no coffee in rooms ran out but the kitchen lady and night staff kept it on downstairs for all of us caffeine nuts. Security at night had to open the door every time to go out but he was polite.

When we first arrived, there was no one at the desk. A sign says to use the phone to call but no number and the sign is mostly worn off. Waited over 25 minutes until the person behind the desk appeared. The room we had was clean (although the tub had lots of marks in it) but had no toilet paper holder or toilet paper and the phone did not work at all. Breakfast is small, but very typical, muffins, bread, juice, apples, coffee.

The telephone wasn't working and zero room service on extra towels. This hotel doesn't have to the door laundry service for someone who isn't carrying extra pair of clothes. Very disappointing staff seeing me in a towel she called me Naked. I am amazed by the choice of vocabulary. Well I hope she gets to see the challenge it was for me to stay there last week.

Do not stay here.

Room had 2 TV’s but only one remote and it wouldn’t work for either TV.

I called front desk (from my cell because remember room phone wouldn’t work), and they brought one new remote. I asked for 2 (one for each TV) but they refused. The new remote turned on both TV’s but we realized that one tv was completely shattered. It wasn’t possible to see until it was turned on. No new TV for us though.

Room itself was scary dirty. Dried water stains all over the office chair I’m the room. Don’t want to know what that was.

The bathroom tub was ridiculously dirty and the handle for the shower/bath was hanging on by a thread and rigged to work with some massive rusted screw that clearly was not intended for this shower.

The lady working the free breakfast was a superstar (hence the 1 star) but breakfast was busy and she did her best but food was running out.

We were genuinely disappointed with our stay here. The room was dirty, broken furniture, stained linens, gum stuck on our carpet, the hallways had kicked holes in the walls, never vacuumed either. It was genuinely filthy beyond belief. While we don't expect a crazy top notch place but the cleanliness is beyond disturbing. You couldn't pay me to stay here again. Please do not stay here, look elsewhere, trust us.

I'd rather pay more but stay at a place that actually cares about cleanliness or knows what it means.

Pros:
Location is good - right next to an LRT station. The staff at the reception are helpful and supportive. That's pretty much it.

Cons:
It took the staff 3 (three) attempts to find me a room where the bed would not have stained sheets. The bed sheets in the first two rooms had old yellow stains and were clearly not properly washed (if washed at all). They were also wrinkled up as if someone had already slept in the beds (maybe they were just that old). A night lamp in one of the rooms would not light up (bad bulb?).

All the towels I have seen in the rooms were stained or clearly old. The feet towels had yellow stains, presumably from urine.

The shower in the bathroom of the room that I stayed in had relatively low water pressure, and the tub did not drain well.

The "breakfast" was: a yogurt, a biscuit, a granola bar, and one pack of juice.

Disappointing stay. Sink in washroom was clogged, bath towels need replacing most of them were stained and old. New coffee pot needed. Girls change room for pool in need of a deep clean. Beds and linens were comfortable.

Dirty and not well maintained. Ceiling tiles with severe water damage and ready to fall. Filthy floors. Always out of towels at the pool.

Very rude front desk crazy slow internet no clock in the room and they posted a fake rate online and charged me over double posted rate

My stay was okay the staff were really nice but my hotel room was really gross their was lots of stain of my bed sheets look like blood and pee and the tub was leaking.

Good location for where we needed to be however the hotel is filthy, the pool to the hot tub were gross with sand and such in both to the elevators and mirrors to the room door with dirty finger prints everywhere to the ceiling tile that’s bubbled out like it’s filled with water and about to burst open to stained ceiling tiles and towels to dirty sheets with hair in beds need I go on…. Very disappointing especially these days with covid and all. There was no coffee etc, we asked the front desk for some disposable cutlery and they gave us forks and that’s it as they said that’s all they have…. Right…. So we cut our pizza with scissors. Although the price was lower it was not worth it, had it not been for our dr appointments we would not have stayed two nights. Hopefully they clean things up and turn things around, I know we’ll never ever come back nor would we ever suggest this hotel to anyone regardless the convenient location.

Liked the location, close to where I had to before my appointment the next day, this hotel was close to a wide assortment of restaurants from fast food to steak houses to cultural places.
The only down falls I found was that I had no money on me and there was no ATM in the Comfort in as well the vending machines would only accept older types of coins loonies and twenties that I did have were 2020 and 1 1995 of course it kept the 1995 but slipped through the 2020. So the machine got a donation but I didn't get my snack. The room we stayed in was nice, I loved the large fluffy pillows, but again my bed had 2 faded looked like blood stains on the top covers and another faded stain on the bed sheet that I slept on. Infront of the bed of my partners bed was a stain as well that didn't look very appealing either. I am hoping that it is just bad luck that it was just this this room or I might give all Comfort Inn's a bad rating

Staff are super friendly, but we went into our room with a half eaten box of chocolate in the nightstand, a used old coffee bag, old moldy coffee in the coffee maker, and there are stains on the walls.checked the bed for bed bugs, no bed bugs, but we found yellow stains all over the mattress.my friend is convinced that there are hairs in the bed that aren’t ours.i told the front desk about the mold in the coffee maker and everything.all they cleaned was the garbage in the bathrooms, a couple pieces of garbage in the room by the bed (literally took my friends slurpee cup but left mine), and made our bed.the breakfast is literally just snacks for a school lunch.fun water slide but the jets in the hot tub barely work.not impressed.wouldn’t recommend honestly.

Horrible. Dirty room. Found a clump of hair on my bed when arriving. The phone had black dirt on it. Room absolutely freezing, no extra blankets provided. Dents and black marks on the walls, holes in the curtains, flickering lights, rips in lampshades. Would not recommend.

Probably one of the dirtiest hotels I've ever stayed at. I can't even tell how many hairs I've found in my bed.
Furthermore the rooms are pretty old fashioned and small. Wouldn't recommend at all.

The breakfast provided during covid is tiny, the joghurt was already expired.

My favorite hotel to stay in. 4 not-lumpy pillows per bed, quiet and efficient AC, very clean room, fridge, microwave

I was very desapointed about the COVID breakfast, just a juice and a muffin.

We had a pleasant stay. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, comfortable bed and clean linens and towels. Pillows can be better. Staff was courteous and helpful. It would be nice if they can provide some water in the room for guests or have some filtered water facility in common areas. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Hotel is decently maintained can, be kept cleaner specially the lobbies (Had some weird smell). Overall good budget hotel.

I was happy to stay the night. They upgraded our room even. There was one flaw the A/C stopped working in the night so room got a little warm but other then that clean and comfortable. Will stay there again!

Omg this place is a DIVE
This was our worst EXPERIENCE.
It is obvious the owners are letting this place crash and burn, it's probably been sold and awaiting its evitable wrecking ball demise. WORST OF ALL THE POOR STAFF HAVE TO ADDRESS IRATE CLIENTS!
The air conditioner doesn't work, it was like sleeping next to a diesel engine.when it shut off it banged and changed for 20 minutes like someone dropping dishes off the roof! All night, all day long.
It was very unclean and smelled gross. There was hair in the tub, the towel rack was loose and ready to fall.
The remote didn't work, the shower only had 1 temperature setting, lumpy pillows, and extremely uncomfortable sofa.
Marks and spackle patching all over the walls, the lampshades looked like someone sat on them, the electrical outlets were loose. (MAYBE THEY ARE HOPING IT BURNS DOWN)
The elevator felt like it was going to drop.
The poor staff had to go next door to the disgusting Ramada Inn for ice!
Never ever stay there!

Requested twice for housekeeper to tidy and clean the room, they failed their reason due to covid housekeeper cannot come in. To begin with no one is in the room, we are out most of the time.we came back the room is untidy, the thrash was nit taken out, you have to request everytime for towels.not recommended my stay was not pleasant.never again to this hotel.

The toilet in our room was loose, the sheets were stained, the bed was hard, pillows lumpy. I had dirty towels in my room and when I asked for clean ones they said they didn't have any. The floor was visibly dirty and there was a sock on the ground. The shower head barely worked. I was charged 2 dollars a day for a safe I wasn't using. The breakfast sandwhich was still frozen when I got it in my breakfast to go bag. The water was shut off on our toilet. There was a musky smell in the hallways. The elevator felt like it was going to break down with lots of creaks and rattles. The pool floor was very dirty with hair and grime and they ran out of pool towels. The staff seems overwhelmed with their duties, check in was very slow and the first morning only gave me half the breakfast items I had requested.

Stayed at this hotel as a last resort because our apartment flooded! Hands down most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Blankets were covered with hair, carpet had crumbs and garbage on it, that chair in the room had a disgusting big stain on it. Options and prices on website are misleading! Room had water damage, staff is rude and took almost 3 weeks to hear anything back from management. I can’t believe that in the middle of a pandemic that this hotel could be so poorly cleaned and taken care of! Unless you have extremely low standards I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Literally stayed at MOTELS NICER AND CLEANER THEN THIS PLACE. For your own safety and peace of mind I’d highly recommend any other hotel in Calgary. We refused the to stay at this location and sat on the phone with head office for an hour while In the room taking pictures and because of doing so management isn’t willing to refund us even though they have notice from headquarters we were in contact and on the phone with them the whole time.

Our stay was fantastic! Great price, comfy and clean rooms, nice little breakfast to take on the go and the staff was so friendly. The front desk ladies were very helpful and such a pleasure to talk to.

Spent my 14 days isolation here and I would say, I couldn't have asked better at such a rate. The employees are very helpful and I'm satisfied with their service.

The Comfort Inn is Comfortable, clean, well kept, with great friendly courteous staff. Easy access off The Trans Canada in Calgary. Convenient parking. Hot water, a ground level Pool. A hop skip and a jump to lots of restaurants like Denny's, Phil's Pancake House, Joey's DQ and more.

It is a good place to spend a night in with a free breakfast I the morning. Swimming pool is a bonus to enjoy the stay.

Lesson learnt for life time! Do not stay there unless you want your car get smashed and things get taken. Me and my girlfriend came from Ontario and packed everything we have. We drove from Winnipeg that day and it was a long drive. The Air B&B guy didn't show up so we ended up looking for a place in the middle of the night at Calgary. We stayed at comfort inn before at other locations but this one is sooo sketchy. We booked in around 23: 30 on May 04,2017 and woke up at 08: 00 next day, went to the parking lot and found our driver side window got smashed and most our belongs were taken, I phoned the police right away and i don't think they can help. The officer did say: " welcome to calgary". How nice! We were both university graduates and come here for work. This is not how we expected.anyway, look for other places further away from this area, spend 30 dollars more and save yourself some trouble. The things were taken from us worth more than $12000 at least, all of our clothes and electronics were gone.now we are starting from scratch. Just for a 80 dollar night, what a f00king joke.and not mention the glass repair was 400 bucks and door was damaged. Welcome to calgary i guess.

We booked this hotel for the price from the inner cities soccer web page. What a joke. Staff that has no clue hot tub that has no jets and a slide that the 12 year olds couldnt use. Rooms were always hot even with the air conditioning on. Enough static in the sheets probably to start the place on fire. If you moved at all in the bed it was a firework show. The guy we talked to at the front said well the hot tub/slide has been broke for months and isnt getting fixed. Oh and also one front end person at night? Should be two front end staff. All in all this comfort inn was/is a joke. Dont go there

This hotel is okay for a night, but that's it. Affordable, but dusty and old. Also, hidden costs ($250 damage deposit).

The room was ok but the lights wasnt working properly and blinking a lot so we switch rooms next day but same old.so we decided to stay for that one last day.the breaskfast was ok too but ONE of the 2 ladies the lady working in there wasnt so happy to be there and was rushing everyone to get their food so she can close even before 9: 30.the other lady domt know her name but was very friendly and servicial.we stayed 2 nights.going around the city found better place for the same price even with decent working hot tub and pools for guest! At this place wasnt open, sucks! Not going back next time!

Staff steals your personal belongings when you leave for the day. Nothing gets done about it. Manager will sit and blame “you” for leaving it out in the open without a sign “do not touch”. Reason why I know it was staff is because I left the room one morning for business meetings. It was the second day so the towels could have been refreshed (which they were when I came back into the room later that day). They stole a 2K watch, my sons video games, they stole the games from the game cases left them empty. I think people on the future should know who they are dealing with before staying a night here. Ps nothing was done by the hotel as they would have let me known

Horrible customer service! Had to look for the front desk person to book a room, the room we were given wasn’t cleaned or beds made prior to us being assigned the room, I immediately went back downstairs to get refund as I wasn’t about to stay here after that and had to go look for the lady working front desk again.

Great place. Staff was great at front desk. Pool was very quiet when we stayed. The suite we had was awesome. I'd will be staying again forsure. Very close to the football stadium

I would never stay here again, I am so disappointed. It was very dirty and disgusting inside the room, you could have powered a small town with the static electricity that was built up in the bed sheets. The people at the front desk don't care and you can tell in there attitude, and I hate to say this but my girlfriend and I seen ladies of the night turning tricks out in the back parking lot. What a joke this place is. Do not stay here!

Dump. Pool is under construction and that would have been nice to know. The elevators are super sketchy and the wallpaper is coming off the walls. Definitely a dive. Maybe 2 stars for the cleanliness.

From the time we got there it was a mess. There’s a woman who works the front desk who had told us that you cannot use VISA Debit an a 250$ damage deposit. So since we were coming off from the Christmas holidays our credit card was maxed out. Luckily we had a family member who let us borrow his (after a 2 hr wait). Just for the new staff member who came in to tell us that “why didn’t you guys just use VISA Debit in the first place? ” You can imagine the frustration that was built up inside me. We let it slide. Then on our 6th night stay we had property stolen from our room from one of the housekeepers. We informed management just to be told that “our staff would never do that”. So I’m writing the review to let whoever know stay here that they are at risk for theft. Idk which housekeeper but they have a thief working for them. Disappointed.

Hotel served it's purpose, somewhere to sleep and have breakfast wife was staying at Foothills Medical. This place is nothing special and a little dated. Rate was very good which was more the aim so I guess in this case you get what you pay for.

Most of the staff is friendly and super helpful. There is one woman who works the front desk that's less then even remotely friendly. She's pretty rude I find. Housekeeping could be better, especially the bathroom. Onsite coin laundry is convenient. More selection in the vending machine would be great. The complementary breakfast is decent. Free parking is available. Wheelchair accessible entry. Close to ctrain and the football stadium. Shopping and restaurants are fairly close as well.

Really run down. Elevator is really sketchy. Carpets worn. Furniture worn. Parking lot filled with garbage & cigarette butts. Just not well kept at all. Pool was shut down too.

Really not a fan of the place. Stayed here for a night and there was noise from neighbours until 1 am. Stinky bathtub, pool was under construction not the best stay ever

Bed were comfortable and the room was adequately priced. The service wasn't great but the breakfast was really good. Unfortunately the pool and spa were undergoing maintenance at the time we stayed

We called and booked a room on 21st october for myself, my wife and my 3 yr old son and told me the price of the room it's like 77CAD and we agreed with the deal as we are looking for a budget room just to sleep and leave early in the morning as we have an early appointment with the philippine embassy.we arrived at about between 7-8pm, we were so exausted from 3hrs driving from the other city. The night manager named IVAN (the one who i was dealing earlier when i was booking the room) told me that the accomodation staff didnt update the reception about the availability and told me he will give me a king size bed but i have to pay more and charged my credit card around 150's more or less and he want me to lie upon checking out to tell the reception in the morning that i stayed alone in the room so that i wont be charged another extra.we felt humilliated how he (IVAN night manager) treated us. I asked him if there's a manager on duty to talk about for what we have expirienced and told me NO and he said he's the night manager. I even asked the business card of the hotel so i can bring the attention to the head but he never give nothing, he said no available business card. Even though i am willing to pay for what he is asking but he's attitude is not acceptable specially when he's boasting he's the night manager, he gave me a duplicated copy of zero amount as i demand for a refund (didnt tell if it is a refund or what)
anyway, we ended up with other hotel next door which we get a good service. It was happened recently on 21st Oct 2018 as it kept digging my mind everytime we are booking a hotel.

The worst customer service the lady was really rude she told us to leave the building because my husband kiss me in public.

Al little on the beat up side for the price.but beds were clean & comfortable, rooms quiet breakfast was a full & hot

The staff are great, the hotel is clean, towels are clean, I even used the washer an dryer its a little dated an expensive at 2 dollars a use but at least they have one. I would recommend staying here. Great location off the highway.

The room amenities were good, price was very competitive and cleanliness was good. Overall a pleasant stay. Good for going to events at McMahon Stadium, access to the University and the C-train station is across the street.

Very nice room and room was upgraded at check in which was an amazing surprise. Really great staff.

Probably the best deal on Banff Trail. The room was nice, clean and a good size. My room was upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette, but no utensils or cookware. Great location being literally across the road from the C-train, allowing access to downtown in 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay at a good rate.
