Commonwealth Bar & Stage

Easily one of my least favorite places for a VENU. My first time ever going to CommonWealth and there were two idiots fist fighting on the ground at my feet. Far to small to be able to enjoy an artist that brings a crowd, ceilings are wickedly low where the stage is so it makes it a sweat fest (usually walk out drenched in sweat). I haven't had a bad experience with their staff so I can't say anything on that. Overal it's a better club for 18yr olds, then it is for a venue.

I’ll like talk about my experience on Sunday.

I was being dragged upstairs by a security which was very aggressive towards me. Everyone rushed in and thanks to the black white haired security who came and calmly tap the other security and told him to let go he will take it from there and have me leave the club, (im a small guy apparently) as I was been held so bad even tho I didn’t do anything other than want to go upstairs.a security job is to calmly escalate the matter before aggressively pushing out, if the white haired security never came, I would have been injured by the other one, as I wanted to go out quietly but wasn’t giving an option.thanks to the black white haired security for taking me out calmly, I appreciate you.

Decent place to go out in Calgary but quite disorganised. The bouncers seems unnecessary obnoxious

Went this friday the 5th was on guestlist and got there about 10 mins to 1030 which is when guestlist is done.there was only a general line and so we missed the guestlist.cover was $15.when we got in there, there was not many people and we realized they just held people in line on purpose so that everyone would miss their guestlist time and would have to pay.that night pdt and pablos were closed so they capitalized on that.theres always fights in this club too because it is a very young crowd.

Its a night club for young adults. I am not young anymore lol so it was bit odd fir me to go there.thar said bar staff and security are proffesional and fairly friendly. Loud of course and like any club the music is fun and Dancy

Very fun club. The security are nice. However I always have issues with creepy guys at this bar but if I need to ask security for help they will help and/or kick the creepy ones out. Will be back!

Great venue for a concert. Saw Mackenzie Porter and it was a nice intimate experience. Will be back

Worst experience ever these guys dont allow us to get in we tried like 4 times everytime they rejected us by saying bring girl with you even we got two girls they were saying we are with them even then they denied i am indian guy i experience a racism today

The bouncer was so friendly, supervisor to him, standing along with him was so racist he rejected my friends to get in there. He offered my friend option to either get 1100 bucks alcohol bottle for going in there or bring girls along with. My friends got girl with them still they denied I know the reason was a deep-in build up hate towards Indians.
Friends to me were so excited, but their excitement was all drained down to vain.

Originally we went to backalley back it was too full, so we took a uber to commonwealth and it was dead, paid for me and my friend then asked about coat check I only had $20 in cash, I asked if could instead pay on card for the entrance fee then. She just told me "go" I said we'll can- I was rudely cut off again and told to "go" with a dirty look. Me and friend went down stairs waiting for someone to come to coat check which no one, I had to use the ATM which changed me an extra fee. Overall I didn't feel welcomed I felt more uncomfortable than anything. I have been here once before and to other clubs many times before. This one I'll never come back or recommend to anyone. I'll make sure to tell my friends all about this one

Great place to have fun and dance. It’s clean, everyone is friendly, safe, everything is great in the bar! Beautiful and talented DJs. Have food.

Paid for a Halloween event ticket for anytime access, when I arrived we waited 2 hours in line and the ticket was never even checked… it was like a $40 ticket and no refund. I get halloween must be chaotic but I feel totally scammed.

Essentially had my money stolen. I’ve enjoyed this place before and decided to buy 3 tickets to an event recently. They were anytime entry tickets and we waited in line but it looked like they hit capacity and we were told that no one else is able to enter tonight so we weren’t able to attend the event.

As much as that sucks, I just wanted a refund for the tickets after buying them and waiting in line and still not getting inside. However I’m being told that the tickets were scanned so we can’t get a refund which is really confusing and makes me think we were sold already scanned or duplicated tickets.

Good music, lots of people dancing, fast service. Gets very crowded at points though, hard to move around

I was extremely disappointed in the sound quality for Infected Mushrooms. Commonwealth Bar & Stage needs to invest in a better sound system!

Good house DJ's in the basement on most Fridays is what brings us here, the regular cried crowd is under 25, and usually pretty drunk. Good vibe tho, most of the crowd is pretty friendly.
