I love the ladies in the vitamin section! They are always so helpful and provide a wealth of information on individual needs.

I've never seen so many gluten free options in one place, and the GF labels on the shelves were lovely!

Always my go to for bulk organic food. Getting help with products is truly hit or miss. When you get the right help, it's over the moon helpful and chock full of knowledge you didn't even expect and when it's a miss it makes you wish you had chosen to find your bulk food selection elsewhere. So if you get unknowledgeable staff, don't hestitate to move right on to the next staff - the next one is likely one of those that you'll learn an encyclopedia of food knowledge from. It would be great if it was consistently AMAZING, but the random gems of staff are what keep me coming back.

It is always so easy to shop here because I just know everything is top quality when it comes to the vegetables and meat. One less decision making process. However, it is pricey, and so might not be for everyone!

I really like their "natural" soaps. They smell nice, last well, reduce packaging, and clean effectively. The staff are always very nice and very helpful too.

Other then the crowfoot location this is my favorite. Great ready made meals for the working women?

Best health food store in the Western world. Go up to the touch screen and order a custom made juice and healthy sandwich or burrito, then do your shopping while they make your fresh order from scratch! Amazing selection and lots of knowledgable staff to answer questions. Here's a tip: put the chocolate by the checkout area so I can grab some high-cocoa snack cravings on my way out.

I love this place for healthy choices. A little pricey, but I still shop here for certain things. I love the smell of this place.

Wow such a bad experience shopping here today. I am so sorry for being a brown person who continues to wear her mask as I still have a right to and wearing a warm coat. Did I look like a thief? That 3 people approached me in the 5 mins I was there.if you walked outside with me you would have seen that I drive a brand new 4 runner and not forgetting the Ugg Boots I'm wearing. Seriously. I didn't see 3 people approach the other white ladies in the same aisle just browsing.

Huge bags of organic carrots for juicing, wonderful selection of natural soaps and cleaners, frozen foods. Slightly high prices but good quality food!

Staff helped me figure out how to help my breastfeeding journey they see extremely knowledgeable about all things health

Same place it has always been it seems. Less selection of take and go food though, and far less vegan items than previous years in that section.

I went here to buy a number of items as perscribed by my Naturopath. I didn't get anything I need here. While they had one item I needed, a certain herb, for 20.00, I found at another Supplement shop for 12.99.
The jumps in prices are so steep in my experience. I usually get my vitamins at about 5$ less at the other shop, but now 7$? Don't think I'll be using Community anymore due to the price difference, as I now wonder if they are just ripping people off.

I am a big fan of community natural foods. They have a beautiful selection of fruits and vegetables and all types of homoeopathic medicines. The store is well maintained and the staff are very friendly. If you become a member you get a slight discount on your purchases. During this covid time the number of people in the store is limited to 15.

Very negative visit to one of my favorite stores. Staff changes. I was looking for an alkaline tablet for water. Expensive magnisium tablets were recommended. No time to assist further. Outside security thank fully ensures you are wearing a mask or Do Not Enter. ; A fellow panhandling was chased away. I found this visit disgusting. Horrible Charma.

Their first satellite store. Excellent selection of most categories of natural health including produce, meats, dairy, frozen foods, kombucha retail and on tap, natural home care, skin care, etc. Huge supplement selection as well as bulk foods. Main outlet is on 10 Ave SW near 12 St. This was the first big natural health food store in Calgary dating to around 1979. It has grown ever since and outlasted many others. Staff are always ready to help and answer questions.

Love this place so much. Has been my go to for two decades at least for sustainable, ethically sourced produce and product.

I bought a product on sale (chicken) Apr. 3/21, the expiry date was Apr. 5/21 and so I froze immediately upon returning home. Went to use the product yesterday, after defrosting in the fridge, and it looked fine but when I opened the packages they smelled absolutely rotten so they obviously were bad even before I purchased it. It was marked Final Sale and I didn't expect a refund, only store credit.

The customer service rep.couldn't help me so I spoke with a manager; after I explained the situation, she said "I'm not inclined to make an exception". My request was reasonable (store credit or exchange) and she basically called me a liar, she said I didn't purchase them (based on her review of my receipts, which I don't know how she did because she didn't even have my last name) and that she "didn't know how they were stored". I told her that I had the product in the original packaging with their labels and stickers all over it and even that wasn't enough.

The customer is always right - hmmm, not at Community Natural Foods.
DON'T SHOP HERE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT!

Update: Changed from a two star to a five star rating.
I am very pleased with the change in policy to mandate masks! Since then, I have been shopping frequently. I feel much safer and relaxed during my shopping time. Countries like Australia and New Zealand have had a fraction of our Covid cases and deaths. They have proven that mandating masks helps decrease the spread of Covid. I commend Community Natural Foods for being on board to help bring an end to this pandemic.
For those shoppers not on board, Community has done a wonderful job to create an online grocery option.

Good food choices and great staff but the Management has not been proactive in their response to Covid, which is surprising for a progressive grocery store. Numerous customers walk around without masks during the worst of the second wave. These same customers will wear a mask when entering an establishment that requires a mask.
Community is the only natural food store where I see this occurring. As a private business, the management can choose their course of action regarding masks. Community Natural Foods (now owned by Co-Op) has chosen to not protect their hardworking staff and their customers. It’s not the progressive grocery store I once thought it was.

Probably the best adherence to covid protocols and health Canada guidelines of any store I went to today. Coming back to healthy and whole eating recently, it's been a while since I've been here. Still has the same awesome vibe, good quality ingredients and cheery, helpful staff. Glad you guys are making it through the tough times!

They almost always have that vegan, gluten free, or certified organic item that you can't find at your regular grocery store, but unfortunately that prices on some items can be outrageous. Staff are always friendly and happy to help you or answer questions.

If you're into natural foods and products this is one of the places to go. They have a large variety of vegetarian vegan gluten-free etc etc.

Great Food Choices, My one to go store for the last 8 years, staff very friendly and loving the European style of eating. However.
Yesterday, January 27,2021 I went to location in Chinook area, and my mask exemption, together with very old and sick lady who also had mask exemption, was refused by the manager - Liam Muzishuk. This is very disheartening that Community - natural food store - would take this step and violate human rights! Would give 5****, giving 1*, together with complaint to Alberta Human Rights Act.

Last visit to this store I saw a sign denying service to non mask wearing customers even if they had a medical exemption. I cant support a business that discriminates against vulnerable people. After 6 years as a customer, I will stop going there till they are treating people with dignity.

Order was delivered the following morning, minus one item. Item had shown as being available online at time of purchase, however, after speaking with Maria at the store, '#units available' is just a number they use to make the product available on website period. I was given the option of free delivery when item available again (with timeline provided), or a refund. Five stars for excellent customer service provided by Maria, and for the speedy delivery of other items. Thanks Maria!

Always a good place to get some natural organic stuff. We shop here for our baby food and their quality is top notch. Prefer this over Blush Lane Organic tbh.

Been shopping here for a handful of years and for the first time today was treated very rude by a cashier. I'm most likely going to start shopping at a different location. One team members rude demeanor and inappropriate behavior can really tarnish years of loyalty. I'm giving two stars because after 10+yrs of patronage, I feel they deserve more than one star.

Great place for a good salad bar, various hot food items daily, breakfast everyday, fresh pressed juice, organic coffee, made to order pizza, burger, and burrito bar. Let's not forget the entire organic foods shopping side as well. And supplements. This place has it all

Organic? This place has it all. Be sure also to check prices with other big stores as even some of them have started carrying organic/vegan sections. Veggies are fresh (obviously organic) and they carry the best deal on juicing carrots.

I enjoyed shopping here interesting and price comparative products.

Staff are a little unfriendly. Didnt even get acknowledged with a hello at the checkout when I greeted the cashier.

Strange white women working behind the desk near the doors wearing wings on her back locked the door on me when i was leaving the store.

Quality definitely just a bit on the pricey side for certain things, mind you if you want higher quality you're going to pay for it.

Variety & selection is good, regular sales on various goods, bulk foods, fresh produce, lots of gluten free foods, marked down discounts on baked goods, like a general store, ties to the community, excellent naturopath and supplements & knowledgeable staff, prices on grocery staples moderately higher than mainstream retail competitors, support locally sourced suppliers. Ran like a *real* Co-op.

When you get coffee for $1, you can definitely taste the difference between this and your local cafe. For organic foods I prefer other shops, as the price per quality ratio is not as good as other shops.

I have been a customer of Community on 10th Ave since it was a small little store up the Street from its current location.

Went to SE store.the hot food buffet was offensive.as the food should have been thrown out and buffet shut down or food replaced. It is particularly disturbing to encounter this in a HEALTH food store.there is no justification to sell food that is dried out and burnt! Shame on you!

Have full fresh veg market, gf items, cold in fridge items, fresh, frozen, hot dish bar about 4 or 5, all organic.

I just moved to Calgary from BC and was trying to find somewhere that has similar products to where I used to shop. Not only was I very impressed with the selection of healthy products that has less packing and negative impacts on our planet, both Anne and Moira were so helpful and friendly. Their customer service was phenomenal and I can’t wait to go back. Thanks for the wonderful welcome to the city!
