Continental Towers

This unit is quite big and open. The staff was extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly also. It is very near to LRT. With this price, this is nice apartment to live in.

Moved in a month ago and my experience with all the staff has been excellent. Prompt and helpful responses to any request I have made.

I stayed here for a year and here’s my experience:
1) Cockroaches! Never in my life had I experienced them before and they were EVERYWHERE! They would enter my apartment from the cracks in the wall or openings in the heating system. Nothing I seemed to do could stop them, and managements response at the time was to leave notices blaming the tenets on their cleanliness as the cause.
2) The Elevators - they were always down! It seemed like there was only one elevator functional for most of my stay here, and that resulted in long wait times or possibly climbing X amount of stairs depending on what floor you lived on.
3) Crime - My car was broken into 5 times during my stay here. The secure garage sadly isn’t too secure and with its location, it sees a lot of criminal traffic.
4) Management - I didn’t have a problem with them other then when they sent contractors into my apartment to fix water damage from a pipe 6 floors up. Without any notice though the contractors got to see me naked in bed fast asleep. Wasn’t the best way to wake up, that’s for sure.
All in all the rent was cheep, but the quality of living wasn’t really worst it.

Me and my wife been staying here since a year now, we never ran into any issues. The management is very helpful, we recently had to install shower filter, the staff helped with installation free of cost and instantly. Staff's always available to answer any questions one might have. Very affordable place, even the rent increment after a year is reasonable compared to other places in Downtown. Only thing is cockroaches, however, if you keep your apartment clean, you won't see them as much. The other thing is gym should have some additional equipments.

The staff is really helpful for all services in flat and building. The apartment has good view and beautifully maintained.

The Property Manager is by far the worst person to deal with. Extremely rude, unprofessional, poor customer service skills and very unapproachable. The building smells and is run down.

If the Property Manager was fired it possibly would be run better and tenants may be happier dealing with management.

Don't know why rating so low probably before the new renovation. Help my parent in law rent an apartment. So far, they are very happy.the location is close to train and the room is clean. Staffs are helpful.especially Linda and Karen.good job!

Me and my husband just moved in, on September and we were so lucky to find this place as we were not in Calgary when we were searching for a place. Since then I personally did not have any issue with the building. There have been issues as some old reviews shows but with the new management of the building, it has been getting better, and it would be even better if they communicate more friendly as they are so formal now. New elevators are one example of such an improvement. Cockroaches are unavoidable, however we keep our apartment clean and we have seen them so rarely coming from outside of the unit. Another thing to mention is the noise of the train that is unavoidable here in downtown. It was noticeable at first but now I think we get used to it:). I like the fact that the building is smoke free and the people are so nice and friendly.

I've been living at Continental Towers for 15 years and I find the place clean, convenient and quiet. Any maintenance issues are quickly resolved to my satisfaction. The management has greatly improved, compared to my first few years in this building.

I went to the open house a couple of years ago. At the lobby, tenants warned my boyfriend and I not to rent there. The elevator took a while to work. When we arrived at the unit, at a quick glance, it looked well-renovated. Then, I inspected closely, and there were roaches everywhere - most were dead. A roach came out from the toilet! And we ran out of there. We shook our jackets aggressively to make sure none of the roaches were on our clothes. I got goosebumps. Traumatizing?

On the open house i was there but the team insisted on making an appointment with Lynda for viewing. Absolutely no response and call back.

Arrogant employees, rude management, especially the manager-jocelyne, no professional at all to her tenant. Never rent here or you will live with all kinds of pets, no water day every month, no management and no respect. Worst experience ever, negative 5 stars to this building and to JOCELYNE!

If I could give negative 100000 for a review I would! Using my other email to make another review again! I moved out last month and I went here to get my cheque from them and ask about an important mail that I need to get because I am not able to change my address online for some reason although I changed all my addresses online and I paid canada post for mail forwarding. It is something important and the management approached me very BADLY. They educated me in a very rude manner! (I didn't know that I should contact Canada Post and not them, I just thought they had access to my old mailbox and sorry I didn't know they don't! But atleast they should've talked to me in a nice way!). I was knocking at the office for this very important matter and the old lady, I think it was the manager, approached me with A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE right away. Just because I knocked and pretending that they couldn't hear me because it's exactly 4pm? Well, maybe it's time and better for them to have a seminar about professionalism! Anyway, avoid this place unless you want your mental health to deteriorate! Cockroaches everywhere after bunch of sprays, my car was ruined 3x by bad people here in their "not so safe" parking lot, and and most of all, rude management! The management here is one of a kind. I can't explain, but the WORST. Don't worry about a cheap rent. Once they get your money, they don't really care about you. They're not worthy to have as customer service. You can get cheap rent somewhere in downtown. JUST AVOID CONTINENTAL TOWERS. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNACCOMODATING:)

Just horrible experience! Very stressed to see cockroaches every day.they sprayed our unit many times but nothing changed. It's just funny no moving in inspection. But they did moving out inspection. Our first three days here was ENOUGH to take the decision not to extend our lease or live here again. They gave us unit with huge maintenance issue (toilet, tub and sink overflows when using them. Their MT guy made our unit look even dirty and stink after he can't fix the issue and it took them 3 days to hire a professional to fix it and it tooks us hours to clean up all that mess.no recompensation for this. No toilet no shower for 3 nights.even the sauna washrooms was closed at night after they promised they would keep it open for us to use.

Worst place to live. Living here is like a hell. Nothing is normal though the renovation might attract you to rent. Roaches are common issues here and there. Heating system is so bad you might get to see the heating control on your wall but it is just a show.where one bedroom is too hot, other is cold. You don’t even need blankets, only wearing normal clothes you will feel like sweating even in-30 temperature. Breathing is so dry you feel like dying.look before you rent here, or else you will regret later.

Elevator broken and never fixed. Water often shutdown without notice and not mention when to be back.

Updates: please leave your house at least 30 minutes earlier since the only elevator working is also somewhat broken too. It's been 3 days in a row I waited the elevator for 20 minutes. The promise manager said about fixing it in mid March? Lie, lie, and lie.

Totally rude and inhospitable management. You cant win them in any logical argument.each and every facility provided over here has ample number of faults and anybody coming here would regret their decision

Extremely shady and unprofessional residence managers.
We went to check out an open house one week and were told there was only one 2-bedroom available, however the following week another open house was held and we were shown a different unit and told that this one was the only 2 bedroom available even though they had a large amount of people looking. We still filled out an application and put the deposit down and it took them two weeks to process our application only to decline it on Friday at 4: 00pm. We were planning on moving in the Monday as the end of the month fell on the Monday and since most places were closed we were almost left homeless thanks to the management here. The apartment was obviously rented to someone else as I walked by and noticed chairs on the balcony and it was crazy how they could have our application pending for 2 weeks and such short notice with the rejection. Extremely shady management and I would avoid this building at all costs.

Been living here for many years. That is 10 years too many. Think carefully before you decide to move here. Every negative post I've read is true. This is their business, not your home. You are someone who pays rent and that is all. The bug problem is true has been around for many years. All you need to do is look at the revolving door of staff in the office.to understand why this is not the place to live. You learn the names of the latest hires and in 6-12 months, the office is full of new faces again. So yes, no matter how pretty they say it is going to be, Continental Towers is not where you want to live.

This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in my life and I am so glad that i moved out. The one and only reason I moved to this place was its closeness to my work place. Everything about this building is so wrong. I had specifically asked the leasing agent about pest infestation at the time of leasing and I was told that I didn't have to worry about pests at all. Few months into my stay at CT, I came to know that my neighbours had moved out due to bed bugs infestation.

Since the time I moved in, I have never had the opportunity to see all the three elevators in operation. Couple months after I moved in, the service elevator stopped working and haven't worked since. By the time I had moved out, there was hardly one elevator working. Needless to say, it was quite a challenge for me to get the hell out. Finally, when I had put up my notice for moving out, which I did on the 5th of the month, I wasn't even told by the leasing agent that there would be a penalty for it. I was charged 250 bucks for the late notice despite the fact that I vacated the place a week before the due date. When asked about the penalty incurred, I was told that everything is in the lease agreement and that they are not bound to let the tenants know if there would be any fine due to late notice. I felt as if they were thrust upon deducting some amount from the security deposit. I would have given -5 stars if I had the option.

Apartments are good, but ELEVATORS are not working from months, there are three elevators in one building but only single is working with unusual stops, other facilities such as swimming pool and recreational facility should be there as compared to other apartments in downtown area.

I am staying here for about 4 months now and this is the worst place to be. The management is very bad and unapologetic about everything. The water supply is shut down for the whole day once every week for some scheduled maintenance. And sometimes they even shut down the water supply without prior information. The condition is really bad. And the problem with the elevators is never ending; mostly, only 1 elevator works. The problem of pest & cockroach infestation is increasing rapidly. They are trying to control it with pest control spray for which you are forced to stay out of home for the whole day - but the pests seems to be increasing.
I don't prefer to complain, but eager to find a solution. But somehow this management doesn't seem to bother.

Ok. Yes the reviews are true. There are cockroaches, the elevators don’t work at all. Here are the perks! It’s cheap, annnnd it’s getting CLEANER the Reno’s are making a huge difference to my living experience. Also, it’s close to Safeway Co-op and the train! A very convienent place to live easy for me to get to work, night life and bars in this area. I would totally recommend this place to a younger person who lives the party life and works full time! I love my apartment it’s so beautiful, clean and well kept on the inside and my fears of bugs are now gone thanks to the multiple cockroaches I kill everyday!

I am living here for almost two years, and I regret. The rent is cheap, thats why people come here, and I can sasure you wont find a single happy tenant. Its gonna be long, but will try to explain few points
1. The managment is the worst I have ever seen. They dont repair when its necessary, and charge you the cost which they are supposed to pay. I was charged 300 dollar once just because my wife did not check what was written on the report. She just signed as she thought it is just a paper work which they eventaully used to show that we did the damage. The point is not only they dont do proper repair, but also try to steal your money to pay the bill. Be careful when they try to get a signature on report. They are cunning.
2. The building has three elevators, and guess what! Only one works, and it doesnt work properly. For example: it stops at every floor without any instruction. If you ever go to the west building, you will see. The cunning management will try to convince you, but just so you know this is happening from day 1 when i started to live here 2years ago. They say they are fixing, but it still the same for two years.
3. Lots of apartments have cokcroaches. And they dont treat it properly, try somehow to blame you so that they dont have to do it. I have cockroaches in my apartment for four months. I will go to court for this.
4. You might ask why i am still here.because I signed an agreement, and i regret everyday.

Final words, if you dont believe me you are welcome to live here.i hope you dont have a write a review like me.

I'm really don't want to recommend this apartments.

* Too much dust on the carpet and balcony from outside when I move in and after continue.
* Have many problem and abnormal working the Elevator very frequently (if use 7 per 10 times) and their not repair 3 months.
* Found insect (look like cockroach) 2 days per every week.
* Too hot internal temperature then external temperature in the summer, but can't open the door cause very noisy from train and many traffic.
* Clog bath tub pipe every month.

WRE Developement LTD. Please please, maintain repair that problem.

Wrost apartment in the town. The elevator never works. We never know when the elevator will come. It can be 5 min to 15 min. There is a good chance you are going to late for your work. I have checked with both tower; both have same issue. And water shutdown is regular issue.
Lots of tanant moved from here. Now they make show suit and people like it and going for the rent but they have no idea about elevator. And its not gonna fix. I am waiting for elevator for half and hour and writing the review. Good luck.
