My experience with Copart was smooth. The ladies at the front were kind and great to deal with and we had no issues. I think some of the negative reviews on here sound like they thought they were buying from a dealer or something. It’s an auction, so you have to beware of the possible unknowns. The vehicle I purchased has worked out great. I will use their auction again.

Beware!
This week I bought a car that was listed as run and drive. Well we bought expecting that the engine and transmission was operating. We had the tow truck pick up and drop off at our shop. Got it and yes the engine started but put it in drive and wouldn’t move. Found a big hole in the side of the transmission. There’s no way it moved 3 feet. I asked why was it listed on auction as run and drive. All I get is the run around.
Second vehicle I bought had a blown engine. Now I’ll say that it was listed as not having a key so it was a bit unknown. But do you think the seller didn’t know this? ! The key was conveniently missing. If seller knows engine is no good shouldn’t they state that. When I asked Copart about this, they said that’s too bad and they offered to sell it in the next auction at no charge. Said I could list it the same with no key. I declined because it didn’t feel right for me to resell it to the next person without disclosing the blown engine.
Has integrity been lost?

I think I’ve figured out a strategy for Copart. It’s very frustrating as a business owner to bid on a car week after week and they refuse to sell it. For instance there’s a 2021 Escape that has nee sold around 12 times and it’s still there. Are they trying to say that every week for three months people across North American need to pay more. Isn’t a car only worth what someone is willing to pay? Have they forgot that this is salvage. Someone sitting at a desk think it’s worth more but week after week it only goes for a certain amount.
This happens again and again. I’ve concluded that I must rely on other auctions to keep the business going. I’ll still bid at copart but with the anticipation that they won’t sell it for what the auction decides. Just can’t take this company very serious. Part of the problem is they only charge $35 a week to sell a car and you can resell it as many times as you want. Like the other guy said. It’s a bit of a JOKE

This place is a joke bought 2 vehicles one had flat tire other one died down the road said they were drivable manager is a joke didn't care it was on busy intersection broke down with kids no help at all better business beaurou will be seeing into this joke as we traveled 3 hrs money hungry selfish people they are do not go here

Worst customer service ever I will never go back to Copart or buy anything from them again I’ve dealt with other auctions all the time they actually care about their customers but if you go to this location you’ll be dealt with with an attitude

I had a great experiencing dealing with Copart Calgary. Their staff is very friendly and manager Timothy really helped me out. He went above and beyond what I expected. Will buy from them again.

This is my first time experience bidding for car on copart and it was a total terrible experience.
This platform is not friendly for first time user.
To deposit is a total complex experience.
I deposited $600 and During bidding, The car I didn't selected for was brought up, I don't know what I clicked. The next thing I saw was that I have won a very old car.
I called both their Calgary office and their international office, none could help out. All I was told is either to forfeit my $600 or come and pick the car after paying another money called administrative charge.
This is a total scam and fraud to me. Stay clear if you are accessing this platform without any guide

Buyer be ware, Purchased a keep Cherokee through their auction 3years ago was able to register but when I went to sell the previous owner vehicle lien still showed as active Copart had not made sure the lien was cleared before selling. Brought this to their attention in early May and have not had this cleared to date and as a result have not been able to sell the vehicle. Make sure to run a title check before completing a sale with these guys or simply stay away.

This new guy dan.seller representative is super unprofessional and lie too many times about my car.i will not bring my cars to copart after last experience.numerous times told me my car was sold then change statements.i don't know what's he trying to do.but super unprofessional waste ot time.cam was super helpful and professional i have worked with him over 2 year no issues.

Bad experience. Was told by insurance to make an appointment in order to grab Items from a car. Called and was directed to Edmonton office who schedule the appointment and gave instructions on what to do when I arrived with an order #. Arrived for my appointment time when I was told I had to join the general line and that the office did not do appointments.

Now my time is wasted after making an appointment when I would have come sooner, and missed my own meetings afterwards as my vehicle was not ready until 45-mins to an hour after my appointment.

Edmonton office also communicated with Calgary office over the computer while I stood there on the phone, discussing the issue.

TD Insurance should chose another yard to send these cars if they want to ask people to make appointments to pick them up.

Worst place ever. They don't care about the customers and are really rude. They have exagerated covid restrictions and make you sometimes wait in your car for 40 minutes or more just to make a payment. Plus, a bunch of hidden fees that add up. Lack of staff and its probably because no one wants to deal with their unhappy customers and extreme restrictions.

* very high fees, I paid an extra 1000 bucks over the vehicle that I bid for $3350.
* staff seems to not care about customers.
* a lady from the staff was asking me to pull up my face mask while she has her mask off and 2 of the staff too and the distance was over 5 meters and was only me in the customer area.

I really don't recommend this auction.

Be aware of this auction location they are not HONEST. I bought a van from them as it is Active and turns out to be REBUILT and I bought it as 65000 km and it turns out to be 365000 km and everything I contact them they tell me we will let you know. DONT GO THERE. I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST THEM

Fraud company, they got advantage from COVID and deceive buyers and hidden major issues in the vehicle in their yard. DO NOT buy online from them they sell vehicles without Catalyzers

Was looking to buy a car from them, fortunately last summer I was at driving school exactly across the street from copart. So for 3 months they got a big flooding, more than half yard was a big flood. So in addition to damage that all ready exists or could be is hidden, you will be surprised that your vehicle was in the deep water for couple months and they didn't add this information in description. YES BIG scam. Stay away from this auction, look on kijiji where you can get a much better deal. Also you can check the car that you are going to by not just the pictures and hidden damages plus flooding.

I have not been there in person and all my dealing were through phone and email and they seem very nice and friendly people. Try to accommodate as much as possible. I was bit late in sending the payment and getting the vehicle picked up. Talked to Nikki there and she was very helpful and explained the process. They also waived late fee and storage fee for me. I really appreciate that.

Courteous staff.clean and more spacious office
The "Long list" of fees are a cash grab and not fair if you ask me. I paid almost 50% of the bid price as fees for a purchase. This is steep and not good enough. Apart from the high fees, this doing business was convenient for me.

Very un organized services, you must be escorted to look at a vehicle and ONLY can look at 3 vehicles at once. Only 2 people are allowed in the yard to look at the same car. Lots of fees. Wont be coming back here.

First time experience with Copart. They are very professional but the yard guys damaged the car (totally unrelated to the collision damage) while moving it. Overall not to bad. Would try them again.

Very unorganized! Wanted to bid on a vehicle today but won't allow me because the Licence they have on the account is expired and takes a week to put new one into the system! What a joke this place is!

Purchased a vehicle online. Photos of the vehicle seemed to purposely hide the bulk of the damage. After picking up the vehicle and inspecting it, it was missing parts that were in the photos, airbags deployed were cut and stuffed back into their housing to hide them, seat belts were zip tied and stuffed back behind the moulding, and body parts were all zip tied to look better. This auction is not transparent about the items they sell, and it seems that they purposely hide issues to raise the price of vehicles. On top of that poor customer service.

BUYERS BEWARE!
Bought 2 vehicles from these guys, 1000 in hidden buyers fees.
Vehicles cleared on Thursday, went to pick up Monday they tried to charge me an extra 100 for late payment fees (2days). Lady I spoke with said I had 3 days to pay them, and the payment had to be there Friday as they count weekends in their 3 days even though they are not open and cannot accept payment. They said even though I was paying them on Monday there would be a late payment fee for the monday as it was not paid on Friday. Had the lady speak to the manager and they waived the extra fees they tried to charge, but they have lost my business over this. Will not be a returning customer

The Calgary location is the worst on many I have visited, now having to have an escort to view a vehicle and only pre-selcted vehicles. Be prepared to wait in a queue just for an escort. Bad policy. Also fees keep escalating, especially over the weekend. They also dont like to answer their phone. Be careful to understand total purchase price.

Not focused from a customer service prespective at all. Very bad service. There is a need to really examine some best practices.
