Alex and Jenna (Janna?) Thank you so very much for your kind and swift help. I was shopping at Coverdale No Frills in Sylvan Lake today. (Sat.sept 9/23. I began feeling unwell as I was shopping and finally made it to the checkout. I quietly said to myself but aloud that I wasn’t feeling well. The cashier was doing her job and likely didn’t hear me. I wasn’t able to bag my groceries with usual speed and my cashier asked another young lady to bag for me. At that point Alex, another employee approached me and asked if I needed assistance. By this time I was about to pass out. Alex knew what to do and she did so with confidence and speed. Needless to say, I am ok and am so thankful that these fine employees were conscientious and compassionate to my need. Thank you and bless you.
We have chosen Coverdales No Frills over the other grocery stores as our "go to". There are no "deals" any more but I have always found staff to be friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and there are many options.
Never been more disappointed in a retail grocer in my life. No bags at self check out, no staff around to assist people at the tills. Watched a man leave all of his groceries at the self check out and leave because this. Will be going to Walmart for my groceries from now on.
I came in recently to shop. I can't wear a mask.it was a great shopping experience.not one person stopped me.and I was able to do all my shopping peacefully.thank you to the staff for not harassing me.like at alot of other stores who have mandated masks
'Won't be beat' pricing not honoured, therefore can't trust that their pricing is fair. They will only beat a select few (3 I believe) stores. Won't even beat shoppers drug Mart, part of their own family of stores. Good gas pricing that you can easily compare though.
So clean! Well stocked and amazing staff. It's perfect, you can buy all you need there and not haul it all up from your city if your camping. Loved it.
Good cheap grocery store, they also have decent produce but I did have a few instances with some fresh herbs. They had gone bad. But overall a good place
It never seems to be busy, but they've got good produce, things are generally in stock. Not as much selection as most stores, but it is smaller and to be expected.
Prices are kind of ridiculous at most places in Sylvan, NFs is no exception. Mobile Gas Station as well, but prices higher than usual. Propane tanks (20 Lbs) Found at mobile. Pharmacy inside NFs as well.
Was my go to store for years. Till today, i went in with my son to get a drink and snack on my way from work. There was a lady collecting money for some charity i stopped to ask what it was for and the cashier smacked on the window and came out and accused me of stealing formula infornt of the lady and anyone coming in or out of the store i pulled out the formula and she said she had to go scan it i told her it was from shoppers and it had the receipt and the sticker on it and she just put it on the ladies table and left no apologies or anything! So disappointed in the way they treated me!)
We just needed a dee items. The cilantro was mostly rotting, I mamaged to find one small bunch hat was redeemable, but it was a small bunch for the tenof the year amd the season. We chose to get chicken instsa dof beef as there were jo good cits, and there were no sweeter dressinga in the refrigeration section of the dressings.
Was shopping with the family, went to get some juice off the top shelf as there were no employees to get it down. The case fell down and spilled some in the isle. Finally an employee came by and we told her there was a spill, and her response was “ that’s why we tell our customers not to get things off the top shelf” lmao. Guess I missed the lecture when I walked in the front door. Worst No Frills ever, as the girl behind the till tried to say she was a manager, but if she was, professional or courtesy are not in hers or any of her employees vocabulary. Drive the extra 15 mins and go to red deer or Lacombe No Frills.
Worst experience in a grocery store ever. We had a spill and the staff member was extremely rude and ignorant. So ignorant to the extent that I will never step foot in the store again!
Worst No Frills I've been to. Maybe it's the resort town that make a difference but there were barely any deals at all during one of their promotions, just cheap laundry detergent. Not a single piece of fruit under $2/lb. I can go to IGA, Co-Op, etc.and they all have apples and oranges at $2/lb regular price.
The cashier wasn't using the second bagging lane at all and there were 3 of us trying to bag at the same time? She also got mad at me when I put a divider bar on the belt to stop it from spinning constantly. Lionel's in Lacombe destroys this store in service and pricing. Well worth the drive, gas included.
I also left my bank card there by accident and they claimed it wasn't found. They didn't even ask the cashier, just said not here, have a nice day.
Went shopping here as it was close to the family cabin. The store was lacked selection and when I got to checkout, they wouldn't accept my visa, only Mastercard. Terrible place to shop. Avoid it at all costs.
I only occasionally use as they lack many products. They claim wont be beat but price matching is sketchy They do not accept Shopper's or Co-op fliers. Claiming that Shopper's (same parent company) is not grocery store although accept Walmart. Co-op not local. So.basically their competition is limited to Sobey across street or Walmart. As The 2 nearest towns of Eckville or Red Deer are not local in their opinion.
As far as my experience goes with No Frills. Overall personally I would give 9.8 out of 10. If i shop there alone or with the family, we ALWAYS have great service there. In fact I can't recall ever ever ever having any kind of problem, bad experience or anything like that at "No Frills" with anyone or anything.
Literally the onLy negative thing I can think of is, I've recently noticed that there are never price tags on items that Im looking at. (I was told by a worker there that "oh it because of the Reno" so you don't have time to put prices on your food?: S okay. Even if that is a reason it's Still inconvenient & honestly. ANNOYING to say the least.
There is nothing going on in that store that could prevent you from doing your job putting price tags on your groceries for your customers. (Especially for ppl Shopping on a Budget!)
How can you shop for food when you don't even know the price of the food you are looking at? How are you suppose to know which item to pick & how much you can afford. & Each time you want to check price on an item, you expect your customer to walk that item all the way back to the entrance/exit & use one of the till's up front? What if you're still shopping? What if you're handicapped? That's a lot of walking just to check the price of every item you look at.
This needs to change. I hope I see a change soon! You should atleast have those portable price checkers in each section of store.they scan the barcodes & shows you the item price, like WallMäÄrt even has it. Come on No Frills you gotta step it up. Maybe After The Renovation Things Will Be
I really like the staff here and the selection of food stuff. Especially as I tend to cook with items I can only find at this specific store - Fish Sauce and Safranin Oil for example. Often the staff has to help me find the more exotic items for which ever recipe has caught my eye that week.
Good location, i live closer to Lacombe but choose to come here for the selection, size and cleanliness. This may sound odd but the parking is very well laid out too.
