Absolutely incredible, we had a corporate event where we contacted cowtown for catering the event. They were very easy to deal with, they took care of everything for us from set up to take down. The food was absolutely incredible, tastes as if it just came out of the smoker. I would highly recommend using these guys for your next event. Their food was a huge hit between all of the employees.

Greeted by the owner, best walk-through of what’s on the menu I’ve ever had. Food was so good that I remembered the flavour from two years ago when I was last here and couldn’t wait to come back for more.
If you like protein-heavy sandwiches that could feed a small army, this is your place.

Cowtown catered our sons wedding on September 1,2023. Chris was great to deal with and prices were extremely reasonable. He was right on time and the food was outstanding. All the guests commented on the food and wanted to know where Cowtown was located. Everyone said that the cornbread was addicting and they couldn’t stop eating it. Thanks again Chris

Best quick service roast beef in Calgary. Obviously dedicated BBQ restaurants will be better but as a fast food joint this place can't be beat for roast beef.

The bacon mac and cheese is probably a stand out. Can compete with the ones from the best BBQ places in Calgary.

Lady at the counter provided excellent service as well, very friendly.

Used them for a corporate event. The communication, set up and most importantly the food was AMAZING. It’s hard to find something that will satisfy 300 different palettes but this restaurant outdid themselves! Great experience and would recommend Chris and his amazing catering skills to anyone! They were also excellent in catering any of our people with allergies!

Although the service wasn't horrible the food could use some more flavour. In addition, it would be awesome if you could list the horseradish sauce on the menu board as my partner really disliked it.

The food from Cowtown is amazing. The staff unfortunately ruins this place. I have received the wrong order, over 10 separate times in a year period. The beef dip is delicious, but it rarely arrives as ordered. No point in ordering online, you have to go in and watch them make the order correct. Last time I tried to do this in person, I was equally disappointed as the guy behind the counter was so incredibly high, he could barely speak. They are suspiciously willing to just offer you a free meal due to the messed up order, which would lead one to believe this happens daily. As much as I love this place, there is no point in spending money at a restaurant who cares nothing about quality and consistency. Great food, if you get what you order 1% of the time. STAY AWAY.

Loved this place! A lot of comfort food to choose from. I had the Mac and cheese and it was delicious! The young adults working the counter had a lot going on and were doing their best on a busy night! I’d return for sure.

No matter what time of evening I come in, they try their best. Work efficiently and make a helluva tasty sandwich.

Tip the dudes that make your sandwich well. They deserve it!

Chris at Cowtown is an excellent host and a genuine guy! We were in to have samples for the possibility of Cowtown catering our upcoming wedding. We are pleased to say that they will be catering! So excited. They go above and beyond in everything they do and offer!
Tonight we had a custom evening in planning for our wedding! Chris was again gracious and informative, allowing us to work with him to create a signature flavour for our wedding.

I had the beef dip with horseradish aioli and au-jus. Overall it was a good beef dip. The aioli could have used more horseradish as I found it pretty mild. A stronger horseradish would be welcomed.

This place is amazing! The service is fast and most importantly the girl who took our order was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations. Their cheese steak was beyond delicious and was very impressed with the cheese cream they use. Can't wait to return and try more!

Food is delicious and portion is massive so I would say the food is worth the price. However, the service is an entirely different story. I mean I am not at all expecting a stellar service in a place like this because it is a fast food restaurant, and restaurant services are subpar pretty much everywhere because duh Covid. But let me just say that the service we received from the lady cashier who was at the counter yesterday afternoon was a different kind awful. She took our order and I understand that we took a while to decide because hello it’s our first time at this place. Btw, the place wasn’t busy at all. She rolled her eyes when my husband asked what are the options for drinks then said ‘behind me’ (referring to the fridge with drinks in it behind her), and another eye roll when I said my husband will get the side of mac & cheese for his sandwich because she thought I was ordering a kid’s meal mac & cheese which she said you can’t get side mac&cheese. I do not even know what she meant as I was ordering a sandwich combo with side of mac&cheese NOT a kid’s meal. Awful experience with that particular lady. Not again.

This place is phenomenal. Talking to the girl (who was amazing) that serve us today. Looks like we are about 7 years too late in this place. The portions, flavours and everything about it just make it a true hidden gem & must try. Customer service at it's finest. A once per week must from now on.

Not sure what's wrong with the people who gave this place bad reviews. Service was fast and great, the horseradish aioli was amazing. Bread was perfectly toasted and the meat was delicious and not dry at all. The dip is out of this world! No complaints, just a full belly for a good price.

Lots of room and the chairs were great at this nice place.

Had the cheese steak and it was really tasty next time would get extra cheese sauce because it tasted so good.

I came in wearing a suit because I was going to a wedding (between ceremony and reception). I was offered a tea towel as a bib. Great service, and great food!

Decided to spoil myself by picking up the cheesesteak sandwich with a side of au jus from Cowtown. I consider it one of the ultimate comfort foods!

Upon walkin into the establishment you are overwhelmed by the aroma of smoked meats; Now officially the best place for a beef dip in mackenzie town, beware the traffic circle in the area lol. But the food is incredible and they are open late! Also they have smoked meats and beef Jerky for sale that is un matched.

The cheese sauce was so furry. Learn to cook this was not worth 20 bucks. Its worth 3 bucks. I’m mad at how disgusting this food was

Staff is friendly, and helpful!
Sandwiches are very fresh, and tasty, and have a generous amount of meat. I would recommend ordering extra sauce, they don’t use very much.
Mac and cheese was mediocre, would not order again.
Potato salad is fantastic!
Prices are somewhat high.

Fantastic beef dip I’ve never had one that could compare to this beef shack. The employee Justin also had great customer service and made my meal perfectly. 10/10 must try

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful on the inside and make a mean beef sandwich, would absolutely recommend going here. Justin made my sandwich with love and care.

I don't usually leave reviews for things I order of skip the dishes.but this deserves one. I was absolutely speechless everything was so flavorful and amazing. I felt like I was in a Texas BBQ with a pinch of a "home made" feeling. For anyone reading this, I would highly recommend to check this place out.

My wife and I are here visiting family in Calgary and they suggested that we try this place and we're glad they did. We loved our BBQ Chicken Sandwiches along with the Mac N Cheese. Next time we are in town, we'll definitely order from here again

Decent food. Restaurant doesn't follow COVID regulations, staff not always wearing masks. Won't be going here anymore.

Ordered 4 sandwiches and they were all very dry. Maybe next time you can add more sauce. Ive eaten here many times before and have never had this problem. Very disappointing.

I had a fantastic experience here, and the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend anyone who likes BBQ to visit. A friend and I split a large size Cowtown Cheese Steak, and even then we were both stuffed. The quantity of meat is incredibly generous. The meat itself was very tender and flavorful, and the horseradish sauce I added complimented it well. Finally, the staff here are super friendly and accommodating. They helped portion our single Mac n cheese order into two, which made splitting it much easier.

Found Cowtown Beef Shack 2 months ago. By far my new favorite food. Eat here everyday sometimes twice a day!

This is the best place in Calgary for pulled pork sandwiches and beef dips. When you walk into the establishment you're pleasantly greeted with the smell of high quality smoked meat. The quality of their meat is phenomenal and the flavouring is great. I opted for extra meat in my pulled pork sandwich, but do note that when you order extra meat, make sure to order extra sauce as it's slightly dry. My friend had the macaroni, and a beef dip which I had bites of and they were great! The macaroni was too spicy for her liking though and she gave it to me (her spice tolerance is absolutely horrible). For me the spice was barely noticeable and it was great. Overall an amazing experience!

We went to the Bragg Creek location on Saturday. Read reviews ahead of time so I had high expectations. I ordered a large sandwich but when it arrived it was the small.not a huge deal and because of the quality of the sandwich I was actually glad it was the small size. The sandwich had dry way overcooked beef and was stuffed with uncooked onions. Au jus might well have been warm water.absolutely no flavour and all it added to the sandwich was to make the dry beef wet and the bun soggy. Complete disaster.what a disappointment. I have had better beef dips at a hospital cafeteria.

We ordered from this place a few nights ago and selected a few things. Delicious sandwiches through every bite, especially with the au jus, it just completed the sandwich. We also ordered the beef jerky and it totally ruined convenience store bought brand. Best jerky ever! I will continue buy Jerky from this location from now on! Well done guys!

Heard nothing but good things about this place. Unfortunately, the beef dip comes on a hamburger bun that gets soggy, that can be consumed in 4 bites. The au jus is basically water. Pretty disappointed on spending $35 here

I was really looking forward to trying their sandwiches as they have great reviews. I ordered the beef dip, service was good, sandwich was packed with beef. They would’ve received 5/5 on just those 2 points. Here’s where I was disappointed, found the beef dry, sandwich definitely needed more sauce. I asked for extra jalapeño but it still felt like there were barley enough. I would definitely try this place again but will ask for a LOT more sauce.

Went there today (June 6,2021) for lunch for the first time. I ordered the Beef and Cheddar sandwich and a side of coleslaw. Both with very tasty. I also ordered a kids size Beef Dip with Au Jus. It was awesome. The Au Jus was very tasty. Staff was great. Keep it up.

Always amazing food at all locations wouldn't recommend red deer went in yesterday the guy was super short with us and irratated and told us it would be 20 minutes before he could even take our order we all have bad days so we decided to wait and drive into Calgary today and it was worth it

Used to be amazing and was my favourite place to eat at, but the last few times we’ve gone the au jus has been watery, flavourless and super oily, and the meat has been dry and gristly. Unfortunately, it’s not worth the price anymore.

As a recovering alcoholic, it is enormously helpful when the owner of a restaurant not only knows that a food item contains alcohol, but goes the extra mile to ask if I would prefer to swap it out for another. That is the kind of service, and just general caring that seems so rare these days.

Add in the owner taking time out if an extremely busy day to play with my psycho children, and Cowtown Beef Shack is the sort of business that needs to be supported.

The beef dip looks simple, and it seemed pricey for its size. But I sure was wrong. It was the perfect size, and it tasted fantastic! So good!

So tried out these guys today for delivery, have to admit a little hiccup as soda's were not delivered but that could have been partly skip the dishes for grabbing and going with out looking.
Regardless, not only did they run over the missing soda's, they also added a treat for my troubles. Then to finish the experience, the beef dip and au jous was fantastic.
Hat's off to these guys, fantastic service and food! I'll be adding them to my favorite list!

Tried it today for the first time because I heard from a friend they have a good beef dip, truth is, the beef is amazing and the potato with the beans, top notch. I will be back for more.

Definitely the best place in Bragg Creek to grab a quick snack. The food is very consistent. The pulled pork and beef sandwiches are both tender and flavorful. They have a nice brine and just the right amount of smokiness. I highly recommend as a local.

Grear sandwich, and one of the nicest guys in the city working there (maybe the owner). Wish they had more sides.

I’m from Texas and every time I get a chance to go to Canada this is my absolute first stop! It’s a MUST and you will be absolutely satisfied. The owner is so great and nice and the quality is outstanding.

The place to go to for some BBQ experience. Pulled pork alone is amazing! It was tender, juicy and has that smoky flavor that we want from a real BBQ! Brad was exceptional during our visit making sure we know what we are getting. 10/10 would visit again even if we're from the other side of the city!

I've been going to Cowtown for years and the quality and taste has always been outstanding! The owner is extremely friendly and I always enjoy catching up when I go in. The sandwiches they have are great! Simple, quick and delicious, the beef and cheddar is my favorite, I always make sure I stop in whenever I'm in the area, highly recommended this place.

I really liked this place when the owner was around. The past few times I've come here, he hasn't been around.
My son and I came here yesterday, and the place was empty. We shared a large sized beef dip.
My issue that I had today wasn't related to the food, but rather the service. I felt like there was indifference from the lady working behind the counter. It's not like she wasn't friendly, rather she was more like she didn't want to be there.
I observed her watching the big screen t.v. And her phone more then focusing on us (the customers).
After we were finished our sandwich, we cleaned up our table and trays. I said thank-you to her on my way out. She replied "thanks guys" without even looking up and away from her phone. I certainly felt under appreciated.
In my opinion, the problem I have with businesses in general is the lack of appreciation. They have to remember who is paying their wages. It's us the customer. Without customers, it would be hard to make money and pay your employees and grow your business.

The beef dip was amazing. The horse radish sauce has the perfect amount of kick. Best beef dip I have had in Calgary. Definitely stop in for a sandwich here.

I've been here a couple times. Good food. The bad review reflects my last visit. I was there 20 minutes to close and when I walked in, the lady inside said she had to go and so I had to leave.
I went out of my way to go to that specific restaurant. An apology for my inconvenience woulda been nice. A voucher for a free meal another day would have kept me coming. Instead I have deliberately chosen a different restaurant in the area twice since then. (Happened about a month ago)

A fantastically delicious BBQ place with amazing staff who really engage their customers. You couldnt ask for a better local eatery to support.

Wife and I split the Beef dip and Chz steak sandwich and we both just looked at each other in shock with how good it was. We order from Skip a couple times per week and this was hands down the best meal I can remember having. The Cowtown special side was also really good.

Get a recipe book, there is no Philadelphia cream cheese on a Philly Cheese steak, and it is served on an 8" roll not a hamburger bun

Me and my wife frequently visit the other location in Bragg creek so tried this one since its closer to us. Lady was on phone when we arrived to start, customer service and meal preparation could use some work was not greeted with a warm feeling of hello and the smell of fresh food was not in the air. We were served our food less than 2 minutes of ordering as if it were sitting out it was way too fast and cold to be fresh made. She seemed awkward and just wanted our order it was almost like she did not want to be there as she sighed while preparing our food so we got out fast as we could since we both felt unwelcome. Expected somewhat equal service for $28 in Calgary.

I decided to make the long drive out to this place because it is highly rated but I was in short, disappointed. I usually don’t take notice of customer service but the lady working there didn’t even bother to greet me and assumed I was taking my order to go without asking. The place itself was lackluster to say the least. I ate my food as fruit flies were hovering above me. I got the barbecue sandwich which was decent but nothing worth the drive.

What a wonderful surprise my meal was. Beef dip is one of my top 3 comfort foods. The sandwich was awesome and the cheese spectacular. Not sure how I never found this place before today.

Our order was delivered so fast! Omg my beef dip was so delicious! My husband had the cowtown cheese steak sandwich and loved it. And the cowtown special.potato salad is dangerous.in a good way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!

First time at the Cowtown Beef Shack, had the Cowtown Cheese Steak, and I'm in heaven! Just the right amount of beef and cheese and peppers! Definitely gonna be returning!

Absolutely loved this place. The beef is excellent and lots of it. You have to try it out. It's in McKenzie Towne.

The buns and the meat were cold and rather tasteless with huge chunks of RAW onion.yuck, the coleslaw was pretty tasteless pre cut mix, the bbq beans were more like a watery chilli with only brown beans in it.
And don’t even look at the baseboards of this place.fricken gross

This place had one of the highest ratings for Beef Dip in Calgary so we decided to check it out this weekend and were not disappointed! The beef is piled high and the au jus was very flavorful. Nothing fancy but so delicious!
