Love the family atmosphere. Servers and wait staff are all very friendly and speedy. The bacon is a standout at this place. Huge, thick cut slices. Ham was fine - ham is always the worst breakfast meat of the pork trio. Now, I have no idea what the sausages were supposed to be. They were cooked into oblivion and had zero flavour. They were quite awful. The eggs were cooked as requested. Rye bread is offered so a big tick up there. Jif peanut butter and Smuckers raspberry jam are offered, which are huge ticks up on my pretentious restaurant review. I was completely underwhelmed with the hashbrowns. They were merely cold, undercooked potato cubes with zero seasoning or flavour. The potato offering is in dire need of a revamp, and I would ditch the sausages and change them up too. The coffee was good. No better, no worse. I certainly feel a decline in food quality since my last visit in the fall of 2022. I still recommend though as it has a diverse menu and the staff are exceptional - especially my server Mari. Prices are reasonable for the Canmore region too - among the cheapest places around, if not the cheapest for breakfast.
If you are in Canmore for breakfast or lunch, then you MUST stop in to Craig's Way Station. THEY HAVE THE BEST BACON WE HAVE EVER EATEN! We recently got some breakfast to-go, and it was so delicious. The portions are large, leaving yummy leftovers for the next morning. The staff is friendly & always willing to give recommendations on what to order. The restaurant has a great mountain view and is so close to the highway & gas stations - it's easy to stop in, eat, and continue to your final destination (if needed). There is plenty of parking in the lot surrounding the restaurant, including handicapped stalls. I highly recommend getting the hollandaise sauce & bacon topping for the hashbrowns - it is so good and really kicks it up a notch.
Craig's Way Station is the place that you come to be at home with family and friends and the bonus is that you don't have to cook. The food is plentiful and filling. Their menu has a lot of options, and their prices are really good. The staff and so sweet and attentive too. I came and stayed 3 hours with bottomless coffee. My cup was always full and my breakfast was delicious and warming. It is so comfortable and welcoming there. This place feels inherent to Canmore. It is going to be so missed when it closes in Spring 2024. It was a part of Canmore's family and it will be remembered fondly by so many of us.
Great place for breakfast, the portion size was very filling, so much so we never ate again until 10 hrs later, lol, the lady that served us was so very nice, made you feel like you were having breakfast at a family members house, price was good, lovely view of the mountains from where we sat.
I have NEVER had service like I did in this restaurant. The server was so excited to seat us at the best table with a nice view and explain the names of the mountains to us. It didn't feel like a schtick, or like we were being patronized. She legitimately was excited to tell us about her little town. The food was good, and service was fast. We will definitely return! Thanks!
Super bon petit resto familial, bonne qualité prix, personnel sympathique, rapide, efficace, courtois. Pour un petit déjeuner en toute simplicité, je le recommande.
Good food and really good pricing given its in the Canmore/Banff area. We hit this spot every year when we vacation, sucks its getting taken down in 2024.
The waffle Bennie is the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten: the slight sweetness of the waffle plays wonderfully with the saltiness of the bacon, basted eggs are a nice change from poached and the hollandaise should be trademarked it’s so dang delicious! 100% beyond compare. We will definitely make the trip back to Canmore for this breakfast alone.
Craigs is a gem of a place.we stayed in Canmore 3 nights and had breakfast at Craigs twice. I'm from England and have been coming over this side of "the pond" since 1982 and places like Craigs seem to be getting rarer.replaced by bland chain restaurants.you can tell the difference in the quality of the food at a place like Craigs. I loved the "proper" pancakes and the eggs and bacon. Highly recommend this place
Came in for sit down breakfast & pancakes instead of fast food McD. Great view of the mountains if you’re seated by the window side. Lots of parking outside the restau. Ambiance is ok. Service was good. Ordered eggs & pancakes but a little disappointed with their hash browns, not crispy & very tiny tiny cubes. Could have chose tomatoes instead for a side option. Menu has a variety to choose from. All good for dine in.
My husband and I came Here for a meal we are visiting from Ontario! I had the blueberry pancakes and my husband had the eggs and bacon! Service was wonderful and the food was amazing Our waitress Michele was wonderful!
