Crave Cupcakes

Yet another trashy late stage capitalist business using TFW’s to continue wage theft/suppression.

After hearing about Crave's gluten free cupcakes for long enough, something in my brain clicked and today was the day I ordered 3 on Uber Eats. The GF Crave-o-licious, GF Red Velvet and GF Just Chocolate.let's just say I have 3 half eaten cupcakes in an air tight container in my fridge and it's amazing I stopped at (technically) 1.5 cupcakes.

Absolutely decadent. The TEXTURE oh my gosh.

The only way stars will drop from 5 is if I get ill from cross contamination (celiac disease).

We tried the lemon and red velvet cupcakes. The icing was good but the cupcakes themselves were definitely not fresh. Really disappointed with the cupcakes considering i heard so many good things about this place. Overall a no go for me.

One of my favourite bakeries in Edmonton! Crave has the most decadent and delicious cupcakes in the city. My favourite flavour is the Dark Angel (chocolate & cream cheese) but you can't go wrong with any of them. I love that they have a set menu with a few feature flavours that pop up each month or for holiday occasions. I'm not typically a huge buttercream fan because I always find them too sweet or too hard, but the buttercream at Crave has the perfect amount of flavour and is always as soft as a cloud! Kudos to the team here as they are crafting an amazing product.

Crave Cupcakes are the best in town. We bought mini cupcakes as well as a birthday cake for my son's birthday party. They were delicious. The mini cupcakes were soft and tasty. Their ready to buy cake fit my son's birthday party theme. It was our lucky day. Also, we had made the cupcake order at the last minute, and the staff was kind enough to accommodate us. Thank you!

Always love the selection here! Ordering for pickup was easy and straightforward, and the cupcakes were delicious! I especially appreciate the packaging which kept all of my cupcakes upright while in transit.

The cakes themselves are always fresh and tasty, and not too sweet. Our favourite spot!

Really delicious vegan cupcake. I’m so happy they finally made one. Texture is really nice (does not crumble in your hands like many vegan options can sometimes do), not too sweet, and the perfect amount of frosting. Thank you Crave team - please expand the plant based flavours offered:)

Cupcakes to cookies are all amazing and never had dissatisfied visit. My wife will fight me if I don’t stop by this bakery. It’s expensive but fresh and delicious!

I pre-ordered 6 gluten-free cupcakes and grabbed 6 regular ones when we picked up the order. We each ha r our favorites; wife loved the gf Red Velvet with cream cheese icing, for the kids it is either the princess ones or the chip, mint ones, and I am at a toss up between the peanut butter topped ones of the cravolicious.

All the cupcakes are nice and fluffy but hold up to the ample layer of piped icing. Staff are always awesome and efficient, you can get in and out in under 3 minutes.

My workplace brought a bunch of sandwich cookies from Crave the other day to an event we held before our shifts started, and boy howdy! They were SO delicious! We had confetti sandwich cookies and chocolate cream cheese sandwich cookies. I had to resist the temptation to grab a whole bunch and chow down! Not only did I have a great time with my coworkers, but I think I've found a new place to recommend to family and friends to boot. Thank you, Crave!

I rarely post negative reviews, even when places truly disappoint me because I believe in supporting local businesses and I really wanted to love Crave Cupcakes because of their great reviews. However, we had a terrible experience with them that I feel is necessary to share.

The summary is that they butchered the cake design (see photos) and botched the apology.

I had ordered a custom cake a week in advance from their website. Nothing special, just a drip cake with your standard happy birthday writing.

I come in to pick it up on the specified day and they showed me the cake before I took it home. Luckily they did because it looked terrible. But I'll let you be the judge - the pictures speak for themselves. There was a pause. My feeling is that they were waiting to see if we'd say anything about it before apologizing, just in case we were okay with walking out with it.

But I don't know how someone made that and thought it was good enough to pass on to the customer. They rushed to take it to the back of the store but I asked them to bring it back to the front counter so that I could take a photo of it in the store so there was no debate over what we were given.

They said the icing must have melted and shifted the letters around but I find this to be an insufficient excuse as you can clearly see that the writing still would have looked atrocious either way. They apologized and suggested we come back tomorrow and they'd remake the cake for us free of charge but unfortunately we needed it that evening. They then offered to give us a free decorative topper which I was a paltry consolation prize given that nothing could salvage the penmanship here. Out of options, I asked for a refund.

The problems only continued as they initially couldn't process my refund back to the card I used to order online because their terminal wouldn't accept my original card. So I offered to take a cash refund instead, which they denied for reasons I'm unsure of. Instead they asked for my credit card number which I'm also not sure was necessary to reverse the charge when they have the order information but told me they'd be in touch. They later called to say they offered a refund but aside from that, they didn't seem overly apologetic and if anything, sounded rather inconvenienced that they had to call at all.

I think it would have been a nice gesture to give us the cake anyway or at least a cupcake or something else as an apology for wasting our time but we left empty-handed, frustrated, and in disbelief. I'm sure the cake was probably just eaten by the staff later, but in that case, I think it would have been more sensible to just give it to the customer for free but perhaps they were ashamed of this monstrosity, I'm not sure. I wouldn't blame them. Either way, I think it is unacceptable something like this can happen in the first place but even more disappointing how the problems were handled after discovery of the fact and overall, it left a very bad first impression of this business from start to finish.

I did reach out on a later day to inquire about the refund and offered a chance for remedial measures on their part but was simply told to wait for the refund and nothing more. It's been roughly two weeks since then and no further contact or efforts were made to apologize for ruining our celebration plans or to remedy the situation. I will update this review if they do reach out.

I have to emphasize that I don't think this is necessarily reflective of their normal quality of work but I hope that this review may instigate the necessary changes so that such egregious errors will be avoided with better quality control and customer service management in the future.

Their cupcakes keep tasting like another! The cake is great but that icing hory shet buds is something else.

My name is Nellie, I am a customer, I have been buying cakes and cookies from them for special occasions like birthdays, wedding anniversaries since 2018. I was served by two very knowledgeable, hardworking and well trained staff by the names Catherine and Nicole yesterday. I found them to be very polite with excellent communication skills. They walk extra miles everyday willingly because they do enjoy their job and serving their customers with welcoming smiles on their faces. I highly recommend to visit this store to see their wide selection of crave-o-licious, Vava vanilla, red velvet, lemon drop, mint chip, strawberry vanilla, strawberry chocolate, just chocolate, coconut vanilla, coconut chocolate cup cakes of various sizes, sky is the limit, after eating their cookies/cakes, the memories of these flavors stay in our minds/hearts for a very long time. Just like adding a beautiful icing on a well made cake is the customer service given by their bakers, icing staff, frontline serving staff working as a strong team day in and day out. Just visit and enjoy your trip to this "CRAVE" store located on 7929-104 St, Edmonton. Wishing the owners, bakers, decorators and frontline serving staff the very best in 2023 and years to follow.

Crave has been a great provider of cupcakes for years now near whyte ave in Edmonton. Ill go here when I want to get some cupcakes that are quality and look good. I will say there is one place that makes a better cupcake but thats some person who works out of their home in sherwood park, so different scale. That being said Crave has delicious cupcakes and cookies. Though expect to spend some money, not a cheap treat. Though Way better than those place that charge like 50 bucks for a dozen doughnuts.
I recently tried their smores cookies and man they are good, grab one as treat and that's fine, but again cookies expensive and not something id want to buy a lot of.
