Great selection of bikes and all types other sporting equiptment for that matter. Just purchased my bike this past weekend. Once you purchase a bike they need to make sure everything is operating up to-par and that can take about 45 min. On this occasion after the 45 minutes had passed I Had to stand in the "NEW bike pickup" line for 20 min @the front of the line before I was attended to. And when I got home the Bontrager go-time I purchased with my bike was installed but not functioning. Other than the somewhat poor customer service in the maintenance department my experience was good.

I can't say anything about the store as I didn't buy anything, but the Bike Service shop is phenomenal. I've taken my bike here several times for minor tweaks or installs. I even called the shop last week because my bike was making strange sounds when pedaling. I asked how much it would be for a repair, and they advised me that an inspection is always free and if a repair is needed, it will be discussed. Turns out nothing was wrong with my bike, I just wasn't shifting properly (disclaimer: I had bought an entry level road bike, and am a novice cyclist and am still not quire sure how to use all the fancy gears, etc. Don't laugh!). The patient guy reviewed how to best switch through gears, how to prevent cross-chaining, and what gears I should use and when. He didn't laugh at me or roll his eyes, and I thoroughly appreciated it. Best of all it was free and I left feeling much more confident with my bike. Thank you gents!

Just finished shopping, very good discussion about seat options, riding gear, sales person was excellent. Then went to parts and had the same experience. Based on the service alone I will continue to shop here

This may be one of the most full service sporting shops in the nation. Skates dull? New chain for the bike? Need blue jays gear? Whatever is the pressing need the staff and products at United are second to none. I have been a customer for over 5 years now and have always been happy to go in for all of my sporting needs and queries.

Tyler, at the bike desk, did a quick fix for me the other day and didn't charge me anything. Definitely the first place I'll go for any sports gear.

I went in last month to buy a new full suspension electric bike and asked for help upon arrival and was told to go upstairs and that someone would be along to help me. I waited and waited and waited for a good 20 minutes upstairs before I got tired of waiting and left and went to revolution cycle to spend my money. As I left there was a group of employees at the till in a heavy conversation who were too involved to ask if I found everything or required help.

I have nothing against United Sport and Cycle, this review was based upon one visit. I have not had this experience during my previous visits so maybe it was bad timing on my behalf. I went on a Tuesday in the morning when I figured it would be less busy.

Have received good service here in the past but I came into have a quote done on my rear hub. The axle was bent on my retro dh dirt jumper set up.

My riding style was shamed and I was told the only solution is to purchase a better frame or a whole new bike with a 5k price tag! I eventually found someone who found me a much stronger bolt on set up for $10 cheaper than you guys quoted me to replace the quick release set up you guys keptselling me and I kept breaking! Now I can ride how I like and rear axle comes home straight as an arrow every time!

Not only that I decided to swallow my pride and give you guys another chance today when I came in to buy a pair of fox mtb gloves and the selection was so bad the only pair of gloves that fit me came with a $70 price tag! I puked in my mouth a little when I left your store today! I wish I had enough money to shop at your store United cycle!: (

Looking for spin bike accessories and shoes. Sebastian spent a tremendous amount of time helping out my wife and daughter. Nic was a great help in parts and Bennet saved them a goodly sum of moneys at checkout with advanced discount application. I’ve worked in service industries for over 40 years. United cycle service is unsurpassed by anyone! You may be able find a cheaper shoe/skate/volleyball on Amazon, but getting the help and advice is priceless and deserves to be recognized and rewarded.

Great selection and really knowledgeable staff. Though many know them for bikes, they are actually the go-to for a wide range of sports. Even many sport-specific stores will often fail to carry the range of sizes that one will find at United. Prices are reasonable, and they often have discounts. A great spot for anyone wanting to get, or stay, active.

Update; had to take a star away within a few hours of posting original review. I went back to the store, at about 5: 30 pm, and while the store wasn't busy, I couldn't find anyone tending the hockey department. I had to call the store to get someone paged to the department. This shouldn't happen. The store is still pretty good, and I'm only taking away one star, even though they also didn't have my size.

Horrible service, my bike was in service for 5 weeks and when I picked it up they didn't even do everything that was supposed to be done and when asked about it they all gave me a puzzled look and no answer. Save your self time and headache and take your bike somewhere else.

Located just off Whyte ave this sporting goods store has it All! Hockey, Lacrosse, Biking equipment and accessories. Sports clothing lines. United Sport was by far the best sporting goods store I have had the opportunity to visit.

Worst selection of bikes I've found. Website sucks if you're to search for anything in particular. I so miss Western Cycle.now they had an awesome selection of bikes with knowledgeable staff. Sadly, they're gone now

Wow they say they have a part but get there to find out not the right damn size. So slow as well for purchasing with big huge line ups and only one cashier.

All sports in one roof and now a new store in the west. I always go here in all my biking, running, swimming needs. They also offer financing if you plan on purchasing high end bikes or bike parts etc. Great friendly service and summer tent sale is a killer.

Had an issue with my bike. Was driving me nutty. Went in last minute, they swapped out seat posts and fixed it! No charge. Jason, Darryl and Nathan were amazing. Glad I stopped in again. Thanks alot guys! Just had the best ride yet on my new Stumpjumper! No clicking! Awesome guys! Thanks!

I really dislike the new scooter area. We went to buy one and they have three on the wall and the rest are in boxes. That’s really helpful when trying to buy something and you want to try it first. Please revert to the old layout where they were assembled and on a floor display. Also, there is very poor customer service. Everyone looks lost.

Poor selection of rugby equipment, and very inexperienced customer service, raised my concerns at customer service and was basically ignored. Tried their new location in the west end and was told they get the main store leftovers

Walked in and it felt like there was more employees than customers. However when I got to my section there was nobody- a few employees walked past me but they didn't ask me if I needed help.

When I finally got someone to get the size of shoes I wanted he came back with the right size but said it only came in a certain model.

I tried the shoes on and the employee left the area. The shoes fit so I went downstairs to the cashier to pay. The shoes cost an extra $55 than what I saw on the website.

I ended up just buying them because it seemed like it would be difficult to find someone to look for the cheaper model.

It was New Balance umpire shoes in the baseball section.

I had sent my bike in for my annual maintenance and was blown away by the service team. I do know that this is a slow period, so your timeline might be different, but it was a quick turn around. They picked my bike up on Tuesday and worked on it Thursday of the same week. I appreciated the phone calls about what was observed and recommended work that it needed. The cost for the maintenance was also very well priced. Again, it is slow period now, so it was discounted but it was very wallet friendly. Even picking up my bike was an easy process and very hassle free.

I'm sad that my closer shop is no longer around, but they found a new customer with the service I received. I can say I will be recommending their shop to others if they are in need of a service.

Stephen helped us pick out a youth baseball bat. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a few different options within our price range and made the experience super easy!

I wandered into the high end bike section and chatted with a staff member about what some of my options were given my price range. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and not pressuring a sale.

P. S.every time I’ve gone to United Cycle, they’ve ALWAYS had the best priced Lacrosse balls. So Lacrosse players and dog owners, take note!

Bike service and parts techs here are awesome! I was a little apprehensive at first being on a tight budget riding an entry level hard tail way to hard and having little knowledge on the upgrades I desired but piece by piece I'm building a functional bike that can be ridden hard and works with my budget.

They have also gone so far above and beyond my expectations with any service quote they have given me. A few times I brought my bike in ready to open up my wallet for parts and they handed it back to me saying it only needed an adjustment or something tightened up and never charged me a dime.

The staff here is amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and honest! I would very highly recommend these guys to anyone looking to improve their cycling experience!

Just buying a balance bike for my grandson. No one offered any help. No one seemed particularly interested. We pretty well knew what we wanted though. Cashier didn't even ask if we'd found everything we wanted. Itt wouldn't be my first choice of a place to shop.

I recieved the absolute best customer service at the downtown Edmonton location today when I was looking to buy my son a bike. John K was knowledgeable, honest and I did not feel any pressure at all. An awesome employee and an amazing experience. I highly recommend this store.

I took my bike in for a recall repair. Noting that I did not buy my bike here, the service guy nevertheless not only installed the replacement part, he also did a firmware update, tuned my derailleurs and did a couple of minor adjustments. No charge. I was expecting no charge for the recall work, but the extra touches won me over.
I likely won't be in the market for a new bike any time soon, but I'll definitely be back for accessories, tune ups and the like.

The staff always takes the time to help their customers purchase the right fit.
I personally enjoy that I'm never just shrugged off if I say I'm just browsing. They are more than happy to leave a person do their own thing, and always willing to help when needed.
