Cut Rite Meats

I chose this butcher to make sausages from the deer meat I got this hunting season. I deeply regret using these guys and will be using Spragg’s Butcher Shop in the southwest next year.
I was quoted about $580 before gst by an employee at the shop. When I arrived to pick up the order I was presented with a bill for almost $1000. The owner immediately deducted $135 for the processing of the deer carcass, which I did myself, so it was completely justified. I brought the deer meat in completely processed and in ziploc bags for the butcher. Nonetheless, it should not of been on the bill in the first place. Even with that deduction, it was still $250 to $300 more than discussed earlier.
The final invoice said that there was pork trimmings used, which is impossible for us and I explicitly said to use cow trimmings. That was the final straw and I could not trust this owner any further. This was a very bad experience. I am out $160 for the deposit and 60 pounds of deer meat, thanks to the unethical practices of the business owner. Steer clear of this shady operation.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with Cut Rite Meats. We approached them for deer sausage making, explicitly requesting beef trims instead of pork due to dietary restrictions. Our initial quote was $580, and we confidently paid a $160 deposit after processing the meat ourselves.
Upon returning for our order, the bill was unjustifiably raised to $860, plus a $135 processing fee. Although the processing fee was eventually removed after we protested, we were still coerced into paying the inflated $860, far beyond the original quote.
Compounding our frustration, the invoice indicated the use of pork trims, directly contradicting our agreement. The owner's response was dismissive and unethical, claiming such overcharging as routine practice and offering conflicting statements about the meat used. This lack of honesty and accountability was deeply troubling.
Moreover, we are now out of pocket by $160, and more distressingly, we've lost 60 pounds of carefully processed deer meat. The owner retained our deposit and threatened to donate our sausages instead of rectifying the situation.
My experience has been incredibly frustrating and costly. I urge potential customers to consider other establishments. Cut Rite Meats' deceptive practices, indifference to customer needs, and blatant dishonesty are simply unacceptable. It's a lesson learned the hard way for us; don’t let it be the same for you.

Premium cuts with low costs really get your moneys worth. Sausages are still the Best in the city. Service is above and beyond

Had a great experience ordered the “0” butcher box, great price and great cuts of beef inside.

The company said 24hrs then my box will be ready when they give me a call, not even 6 hours later after putting in my order they gave me a call and I picked up my order lickety split.

Our family has already gone through all the blade steaks, and as a chef I can appreciate the marbling and taste.

We had stopped in at Cut Rite Meats last year to get some steaks and they were great. Very helpful and quick and they were cut just the way we wanted. This year we decided to place a BBQ box order with them to get ready for the summer months and they did not disappoint. The ordering process online was very easy and they were very quick to get the order ready. The beef we got was cut well and tasted great. Will definitely continue ordering from Cut Rite.

The meat is always wonderful, but the service I got today brought their stars to two. I had an order to be delivered but realized I would be out of work early and could pick it up myself so I emailed to let them know. Got an email back saying no problem. I got a phone call in the afternoon but couldn’t answer as I was in a meeting, so I emailed to tell them that. I assumed it was to let me know the order was ready. When I arrived to pick up my order I was told that “you have to answer the phone when I call” and that “I don’t do email. ” Someone does. They emailed me this morning. Anyway, they’re clearly just fine without my business. And that’s okay. There are plenty of other butchers.

My phone started ringing off the hook on the way home and I see they’ve called me 4 times. No more for me, thanks. Blocked.

Been going to here to see Jimmy for about 20 years.
The bacon alone is worth the trip.

Everything I received was good except for the chicken. It is really dry and feels rubbery when you chew on it. I'm disappointed with the chicken. HI I'm Lisa, Linda's daughter, I'm the one who eats the chicken and I've tried baked, and even Boiled it was still rubbery thanks for your response but it was much worse than you say I will say, however, the beef roast is immaculate one of the best possible during these hard times in the future IF we decide to order again, I will substitute the chicken for more hamburger the hamburger is so delicious thank you Cut Rite Meats have a wonderful day

This place is amazing! My mom and I ordered a large order and the owner Jim was amazing and very helpful! Beautiful cuts and great bang for your buck. Very professional and responsive. He did everything he could to make sure we were happy and our hard-earned money was respectfully spent. Nothing but amazing things to say about this butcher shop! The driver did a wonderful job to let us know when he was coming and and we will definitely be coming back for all of our meat needs in the future.

Was recently in to buy some steaks. First off they were frozen. A butcher shop that advertises itself as being fresh, gives you frozen meat. When I defrosted the meat, I noticed right away huge chunks of fat that needed to be properly trimmed off. You pay a premium price to go to a butcher shop, and they can't even properly trim the unnecessary fat off. Then the steaks ended up being tough, sinewy, and stringy. Even after trying to salt and dry age the steaks for 24 hours, they still couldn't be salvaged. Never going back. Safeway would have better cuts of meat.

I love cutrite meats! The quality is amazing, prices are awesome and the staff are wonderful! I was expecting to get my order the following day but it came the same day which was wonderful! Highly recommend!

2022 review: 1 year later and the customer service is non-existent.
I ordered exactly 1 week ago @ 1030am. On my way out for work the following morning at 430am, I found my order left outside my apartment door. Upon checking my missed calls it appears the delivery driver attempted to buzz my apartment suite (3 times) starting at 840pm - Due to my early work schedule I was already in bed.
On the website it states that orders are next day delivery unless otherwise (prompt) notified by the system - checked that early AM in case I missed this notification and the system still reflected "your order is confirmed" and no further emails.
I am not opposed to same day delivery (who would be?), but there is a major disconnect here which resulted in my beef sitting outside my apartment door for nearly 8 hours.
I have already reached out to the company twice since the event and haven't heard a single word back.

What an amazing experience! The delivery driver went out of his way, above and beyond actually, all to ensure our package was hand delivered! If that wasn't impressive enough, once I opened the box and saw the presentation, I was floored! Perfect portions and great packaging! As for the taste of the product, OH MY GOODNESS! Well worth the order!

VERY poor quality.bacon smelled off, during cooking. I had used the bacon ends to flavour my chicken and added it to a stew for flavour, ended up discarding the works due to the off-putting distasteful smell. Called and requested a refund, manager refused because I discarded their product. Any excuse to not do a refund. Not a reputable, trustworthy or honest experience.

If you have furry friends, they also have a selection of dog bones and food available. It all gets delivered right to you (or you can pickup at the store).

Growing up on a farm I enjoyed fresh meat and eggs. With all the restrictions we face today it is good to be able to get these fresh products even better is the fact that they are delivered right to my door. I'm really disappointed! My first experience with cut Rite was from a flyer in the mail, advertising large family barbeque. I spent 60 Dollars and could not eat them. They looked so good, so I thought, I may not have cooked them correctly.

I wanted to give them another go to be honest.

I bought a Sirloin steak today, after negotiating a discount, 20%.
Good rite? No Shrunk to half its size, and turned into a rubber band!

I just wanted a good fry steak. Lol Don't waste your time, let alone your money. Sobeys has far better product, Really!
Not knocking them if you like that, but I'll pass. My last trip there:)
