Cutting Edge Barber Shop - West Springs

Figured I’d try out this place because it was closer to my house and had decent reviews.

Butchered my hair. I just said it looked okay so I could get out of there. I’m at a loss for words- I will never go back

Very disorganized staff, we were interrupted several times by other barbers who had lost supplies, scissors, guards.the list goes on. I asked for a number one fade and he took off 1/3 of my hair on top of my head. Now it is weirdly angled and I’m going to feel awkward for several months until it grows back.

Oh also my the top of my head is all weird angles, completely missed trimming one section and instead compensated by trimming halfway up the other side of my scalp. I am very sad.

Edit: Response to owner. I paid for a service, and I’m giving honest feedback - purely based upon my experience. I have no wish to return to any Cutting edge Barbershop. Thank you for confirming the reason why I did not feel safe to comment in store

My first time come to this barber shop. Abdi gave me a nice clean fresh cut. Highly recommend him, definitely will come back again

I've been getting my hair cut at the Cutting Edge since they opened in Discovery Ridge. Always an excellent hair cut from genuine barbers.

These guys are absolutely phenomenal. Have become my permanent place to go for haircuts for three years straight and I’ve left amazed every time. Specifically, Abdi will give you the exact haircut you want. His care and precision is next level and I highly recommend getting a cut from him. I was very nervous to get a certain hair style that I’ve been thinking of getting for awhile and Abdi was able to exceed my expectations and do an amazing job. Wish I could rate more than 5 stars for these legends!

Amazing barbershop. All staff are exceptional but the barber, Abdi, goes above and beyond with his work and gives a great experience to whoever’s hair he is cutting. I would 100% recommend this barbershop and 110% I would recommend going to Abdi.

Every barber is great at this place. Especially Mo and Abdi are my favourite. These guys don’t waste time and actually give great haircuts. Cheers Mo and Abdi and keep up with good work.

An excellent barber shop. The staff here is amongst the nicest I have encountered so far. The quality of the hair cuts are tremendous. I had my hair cut by Abdullah (or Abdi) who was very nice to talk to. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good haircut, as well as an easygoing environment.

Gem of a barbershop. Professional barbers who run a clean shop and are friendly from the moment you enter the doors. Highly recommend Abdi. He cuts hair great, gives you exactly what you ask for, and constantly double checks to make sure each stage of the haircut is exactly what you want. Come and check out the shop and ask for Abdi.

Great place, great atmosphere I highly recommend this barbershop for anyone looking for good service and experienced barbers, they were great with my three-year-old son I recommend Tarek for long hair.

Asked for a mid drop fade and got a high fade and didn’t even get my edges lined up LOL not worth $35

Bruh if you’re getting a cut in calgary and it’s not from these guys, you’re doing something wrong. I used to think i was getting awesome haircuts/beard lineups from my old barber, until i came here.made me realize what a REAL barbershop is. These guys are the absolute best in calgary, doesn’t matter who you get.i’ve been 4 times, had a different barber every time. The class, professionalism, and talent level of every single one of these barbers is unmatched. Please, do yourself a favour and get a cut here. The absolute BEST in Calgary.

The best barber shop in Calgary. My husband has been going there for years, and I love the way his hair and beard look after every cut. I sat in the shop a few times while my husband got a cut, and Tarik was always so kind and hospitable. The whole staff is really nice and easy to deal with.

I have been getting my haircut from here for about a year now, they have clean fast service and give good haircuts. Abdi helps me out and gives a good cut everytime.

Excellent experience from the moment I walked in. Professional, polite, and helpful for my specific hair questions. My stylist (I forget his name!) was personable, kind, and gave me one of the best haircuts ever. He paid attention to extra details, and made sure I received a luxurious and comforting experience.
I now live in Toronto, but made it a point to visit this place for the first time when I visited, I usually visit the Discovery Ridge location. The location is bright, well decorated, and extremely clean.

Highly recommend this Barber Shop. I took my 16 years old boy in for a cut and he not only came out with a really cool fade, but also became buddies with the barbers. They are so friendly and welcoming we had such a great experience. My boy already can’t wait for the next trip.

Visiting from Toronto, stopped by for a fade and the young lad who cut my hair did a fantastic job, highly recommended, will definitely be a returning long term customer. Clean, modern and very professional staff.

I can’t share more praise about this location, their helpfulness and professionalism. Maddy saved my son today from a horrible haircut experience at another place. He was so kind and really took time with my son to fix what was a horrible haircut into something that now looks amazing. He spent a lot of time attending to each detail while also talking to my son. It is clear from being at this location that they really care about the person and I am so grateful that we came in today. We will definitely come back and be recommending Maddy and this shop to others! Thank you!

First time here, Robin is very professional all at the same time very social. I was impressed he was very analytical when he cut my hair which made me feel confident that i'll come out looking fresh. Will be back on a regular now.

I just stopped in at Maddy and Tarek’s new shop and we talked about how they had been cutting my hair for at least the last 15 years! While being a university student I was unable to always make it to their place in Discovery Ridge but when I did, they always took their time to say hi and catch up. Nothing has changed in the new shop. These guys are the most professional barbers and are second to none in Calgary. They are friendly and will take the time to get to know their regulars but are always welcoming to anyone. They are professional, great with kids, take their time and their work will speak for itself. I have never been more complemented on a haircut than after I go see them. I am happy that the new location is so close to my new place, I’ll be exclusively going to see these guys from now on.
