Cutting Edge Barber Shop

Had my boy Dallas absolutely kill it today. If im being honest, my balding head doesnt give these boys much to work with, but every time I come in, they work some voodoo magic that make it look natural. All I hope for is for a barber to put lipstick on a pig when I come in, and they consistently exceed my expectations. Props to these wizards. Hair cuts! They have been a roller coaster for our soecial needs son, Jake. However we recently met Maddy at Cutting Edge in Discovery Ridge, and WOW! A wonderful experience. Yes, Maddy was the barber Jake was able to see, however everyone there was patient, kind, and caring. Jake is very sensory sensitive, he also startles easily, grooming of any kind has always been a battle and fear inducing.
Maddy’s calm demeanour, gentle movements, and him being willing to take the extra time to let Jake look at the scissors and clippers (safely)  eased Jake into this experience, where it was able to be a positive one! Not only did Jake get a great hair cut, but he got a positive experience at something that was historically negative; all thanks to the extra time and care Maddy generously gave him.
We were made aware of Maddy by a doctor at Rotary Flames House & Children’s Hospital. I wanted to share our experience so that other parents who may be struggling with a simple haircut for your special kiddo, knew of a great option!

Maddy is an absolute gentleman. He goes above and beyond for his clients including going out of his way to support fundraising events and charities in the city. 5 years and never once had a bad cut from his shop.

We had Maddy come in and give our staff their Movember hot shaves and trims, and he was fantastic! Everyone raved about how relaxing the whole experience was. Super friendly, easy to talk to and professional. Want to bring him back yearly! Thank you so much man! You made a lot of people's day today.

I went here for a hair cut in 2019 while in the Calgary area and it was the best hair cut I ever had. I then lived in Calgary for awhile starting in 2021, and each time I went it was still just as good an experience as 2019.

Staff was friendly and obviously knew what they were doing; decently cheap for the quality they produced; and of course, still gives me the best hair cuts I've ever had! If you're trying to settle on a barber shop, I recommend Cutting Edge.

Best haircut you’ll get. Madi did an unreal job, made great conversation, and was very nice and professional. I went to Adam last time and received an excellent haircut from him too, can’t go wrong here.

I was blown away with the quality of the haircut I received from cutting edge. I always thought i could never style my hair and always wore a hat. Well i was wrong, Alex gave me the perfect cut! The quality of this barber shop is a 10/10 and fully recommend everyone to come here!

Best haircut I have ever received in my life bar none. This was my first time coming here and Alex was unbelievably friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. He took his time explaining everything to me and did not make me feel embarrassed when I started sweating. He also gave me plenty of pointers and product recommendations. Went here for the first time today and was blown away by this little shop! Jason cut my hair and made a perfect fade starting at a zero. Very impressed at how thorough he was. Every other barber in the shop looked just as thorough and each client I saw had a fabulous end result! Definitely coming back and recommending everyone I know to come here!

Ed did an awesome job with my hair cut! Fun place with very good customer service! And who doesn’t like a complimentary shave as a happy ending, or “the cherry on top of an amazing cut”! Great job boys keep up the good work!
