Tried to book online here last week and there was nothing serviced available. We rolled the dice despite that and the weather. No one available at the park gate or office. Everything closed. We took a site at meadows and there was only 4 campers in the whole place. Not sure why everything was reserved. We ended up reserving and paying two nights but stayed one to make up for not getting an entry pass. Lots of various campgrounds, hikes, facities are nice. Lots of treed and treeless sites. Visiting a couple weeks earlier would have been better. Look forward to exploring more here next summer.
Our favorite place to camp! Beautiful trees, very few mosquitos, no predators to be worried about, lots of activities for everyone, considerate campers.it's our main camping destination. I love how the people who camp here really value nature so they are quiet, clean up after themselves, and say a friendly hello when you pass them on the hiking trails. Lots of people brings dogs, but they always make sure to clean up after them, keep them leashes, and stop them from barking. The bathrooms are cleaned daily. The beaches are combed often so they stay nice and clean. The only bad thing about the park is the leeches in the lake! My kids are too scared to swim because they are afraid they'll suck their blood.
Centre Block is more "resort camping" than getting out into the woods. Fellow tent campers could be noisy at times. The hike we did with a naturalist was fantastic.
Love this place. It's truly a hidden gem in Saskatchewan. So many things to do especially with kids from mini golf to swimming. The pool is especially kid friendly. The walking trails are well groomed and the night sky is amazing with so many stars.
Loved it. The camp site was perfect. There was plenty to see and do. The scenery was amazing. The facilities were very clean and accessible to get to. The campsite was clean, and the fire pit was excellent to cook over.
This is a great provincial park in Saskatchewan! I come by myself or with my husband, always tent in Deer Hollow and go there primarily for the hiking in the lodgepole pine! There are lots of great trails and horseback riding right in the campground area which I have also done and enjoyed. Golf course is great too and I have played on trips with my husband. The general store is full of all kinds of things and one of the best I have seen in a campground! Maple Creek is a nice stop on the way in and I highly recommend a stop at Rafter to fill up your growler with their locally brewed craft beer!
I think I have to see a lot more such as the walking trails to increase 4 stars to 5. Beautiful grounds and thrilled for the volleyball on site and kayak rentals. Get a list of to-dos while there!
This provincial park is one of the best campsite in Saskatchewan. The mosquito is bad but surprisingly in Cypress Hill Park their is none. And campsite is spacious and trees are high you can feel mother nature. Lots of activities as well for the whole family.
Been there two years in a row now. Lots of walking/biking trails. General store has almost everything and is very reasonably priced. Enjoyed the ice cream and food at Dar’s Little Dipper. My only complaint is there is not much around for water/lakes but the small lake in the park is still fairly big enough to enjoy for a couple hours.
Beautiful park, giant bright stars at night. The boat dock to rent a row boat.there's 2 staff members an older guy and a younger guy were disrespectful to our family and made us family members upset and not a good experience afterwards. Staff complained that there was a small amount of wet grass on our row boat, told us they refused to clean it and then scolded us for it. We paid 68.00 for a poor afterwards after an hour ride. Sorry but if you have a job, you have a job.it's not all about soaking in the sun scolding young kids and older adults
The roads around the park are in terrible shape. The outrageous costs to eat at the restaurant or have an ice cream were borderline criminal. And the campgrounds just had weird things in it operations, like who closes a bathroom for cleaning at 8 AM?
If I wasn't there for an event I sure wouldn't waste my time camping here.
Seemed a long way off the highway but we were tired. Didn't take long after some sleep to get back to highway. Nice sites. Lots of kids but quiet in the evening
Cypress Hill Centre Block is by far the best provincial park in Saskatchewan. This piece of beauty, trees, animals, Flowers and outstanding staff is what makes it that much better. This is the one must stop park in Saskatchewan for everyone!
Its a beautiful park and there are tons of activities (e.g, horse riding, electric scooter, etc) that you can do which is not usually available at other provincial parks. But be sure to book them in advance of your trip. A great place to fish trout too if you love fishing!
The park staff is ridiculous. They don't watch where they are driving ive seen them almost run over a few kids in seperate occasions and almost ran me and my dog over. Go to complain at the office and get treated like your worthless. Use to be alot better before they hired a fleet of Karen's.
Amazing place for day trip with family or group of families and weekend trip. Camping and bed and breakfast available. We enjoyed swimming and canoeing.
One of the best parks in Saskatchewan. Although the roads are a little narrow it is easy to navigate the park with plenty of signs and markers. The are lots of things to do at this park like hiking, golf, swimming, boat rentals and horseback riding just to name a few.
One iof the best tourist Parks in Saskatchewan. Lots to see, lots to do. Good for families. Not good if ypu prefer a quiet, secluded camping experience.
Fab park. I love how you’re suddenly in a different landscape after driving hours on the prairie. Great amenities, points of interest, and gorgeous ‘nature. ’
This was my second time visiting the park and it's as beautiful as I remember. You can book zipline, climbing, and a treetop tour, horseback riding, or swim in the lake. The campground is in a wooded area to give the feel of camping
Honestly, we didn't get it. We drove all the way from Medicine Hat as we heard so many good things about this part of interprovincial park, but it didn't impress us. Maybe it is needed to stay at their campground or rent a place in another way to dive deeper and 'feel it's but at this point, it was just another place to spend vacation. No more, no less. The entrance is not free (it is free on Alberta's side), there is a small village with cabins, Lake and some entertainment which we weren't able to use as we came late. There is only a few restaurants and most of places takes cash only (that's what we were told in one of the restaurants). We were going to have supper there, but everything would be closing quite early (7-7.30sh), so in the end we just decided to drive back home. Will we come back? Hm.not sure. I think there are other places to do the activities closer to the home.
First time going there and it was a pleasant stay. Friendly environment! However the food places only takes cash but they have Atms too, we stayed at Terrace campsite and i thought it’d be bigger and more privacy, hard to set the tent because the pavement was rocky.washrooms were clean and well maintained.other than that we enjoyed our stay
This is my 2nd time visiting cypress hills. We camped in centre block in the meadows campground this time and I wasn't impressed with the campsite. It was basically an open field with rv sites. The first time I camped here, we stayed in an incredible campground surrounded by lodge poles. I wouldn't camp here again unless I could get the same campground as the first one.
Points of interest: sunset at Lookout point and Blad butte have amazing views. Both areas require driving up some dodgy roads and bald butte is a short hike up a Lil trail. Bring good shoes!
Cypress Hills has an eco system different from the surrounding areas. It’s beautiful with forests and lakes, and dark night skies! There are excellent services, and activities like swimming, horseback riding, mini golf, and an observatory with a big telescope. Two ice cream shops in the park are mandatory stops!
Excellent place for family camping. Lots of fun activities. Beautiful natural surroundings. Unique biodiversity. Great parks interpretive programming. Only thing we had troubles with is hiking trails are poorly signed or signs completely missing.
It is a beautiful place with a lot of amenities. Lots of small lakes to paddle board or fish. I recommend the beaver Creek trail for hiking. It is a moderate hike in the forest along side a small creek. The outlook spots were so beautiful, you could see rolling green hills for miles. I loved the drive down around Reesor lake.
Beautiful location with view points, campgrounds, amenities like bike, kayak, paddle board rentals, a general store. Would like to go back to explore more biking trails!
A gem in southwestern Saskatchewan! The campground (Meadows) is very clean and has power available. No water hook-ups though so bring fill the water tank of your RV! The restrooms and showers are very clean! Make sure to buy a SK parks pass. You'll need it to enter the park (or you can buy a daily permit).
We spent the weekend camping here and it was a blast. We walked and biked the trails, walked down to get ice cream exploring the lake on the way. We didn't try the mini golf and the pool wasn't open yet and not sure when it will be due to Covid. Next time we would like to try the restaurants. There is also the zipline park here that looked amazing. The park is very clean and well looked after. We saw park rangers and park employees everyday multiple times driving around and talking to people. We saw moose, deer, frogs, geese, tons of birds in the few days we stayed.
We camp in Deer Hollow every year and it's simply the BEST place to camp. It's chill, quiet, and beautiful. There are a variety of activities to keep you entertained, like mini golf, swimming, boating on the cute little lake, or hiking one of the many trails throughout the park.
Respect the wildlife and clean up after yourself to keep it beautiful.
Really cool place. Hills aplenty. Lots of cows, drive carefully. Millions of Dragon flies, like driving in a black blizzard. Beautiful lakes on Alberta side. There are two parks. The larger park in Alberta and a smaller park in Saskatchewan.
Wide open skies with plenty of trails to explore. Lots of birds and other flying creatures. A great interpretive center that give both the history of the area and close up critters. Grand kids loved it.
Awesome place, lots of spots for camping, lake, beached, playground for kids, playground for adults, this place has everything you need for a good time.definitely recommend this.
Pauli was great despite the smoke from the fires up north. Come with a great supply of your own firewood though; bundles at the store would cost you $8 average.
Don't expect much from the lake as it is very small and crowded. The restaurant in the information center showed poor customer service as we were required to pay first (no debut machine either) and also required to put the napkin dispenser and cutlery on our own table. Followed by poor tasting food. I suggest northern sask for an amazing camping experience!
A simply beautiful oasis in the prairies! Lovely forested hikes, fantastic campsites and an incredible four-season Resort with Spa. So much available to do for all ages.
THIS IS THE LOOKOUT POINT THAT THE INDIANS USED TO FIND THE BUFFALOW. THIS LAKE HAS TROUT! YUMMY. WARNING AS HIGH WINDS BLOW ACROSS THE TOP OF THE BENCH AT 50 KNOTS! MOTORCYCLES NEED TO DRIVE AT 15* LIST TO STAY ON THE PAVED ROADS.
Go to visit, that's all I can say. Amazing place. Beautiful. Great campsites and lots of activities including the dark sky preserve. Better yet, ride your bike there!
This is a large provincial park on the Alberta and Saskatchewan boarder. There are multiple campgrounds, day use areas, beaches, and boat launches. It is located in forested hills with multiple lakes. Each campground has different levels of utilities from no services to full services with power, water, and sewer hookups. We choose Firerock Campground with power only to save some money. This turned out to be a mistake. Our campsite was lakeside, but it was also an open field with no shelter from a windy, stormy night. The shore was muddy and weedy. However, it was only a short walk to the beach, dock, shower house and playground. The shower house had lots of parking, lots of sinks and showers with free hot water. The campsites were level, easy to park the motorhome in but no privacy. We could see other campers in the woods nearby and wished we had camped there out of the wind.
Sooooo much to explore! I find new trails every time we head out there! Haven't had a chance to see the fort when open yet, but we walked around the area and it looks like a fun place!
