My windshield got damaged due to negligence of safety practices near one of your worksites.

I live near the Garneau area of Edmonton, and while on the way home a shower of small rocks (though they say it’s clay) fell on my car. The debris was from the worksite of Davey Tree. The workers were blowing debris around a tree on the street where I live. The road was not blocked off on either side of entry, and there were cars parked along the road they were working on, so this could have been a hazard to others as well. We called the company immediately to inform them of the situation and we promptly received a call saying the district manager would come and have a look at the damage on our car.

When we met with the manager, Kevin, he said that the damage was minimal and that he would offer us coupons for a car wash at Petro-Canada. The manager went on to talk about how they have lived in Alberta for a very long time and that they replace their windshields often due to highway gravel damages… (I cannot replace my windshield as frequently because this is a brand new car and GM is having a strike in the U. S.for parts). It was very ignorant for the manager to assume that we are unaware of Alberta’s conditions, and that we have the time and money to go out of our way to tend to damages caused by the negligence of their team, and to also practically bribe us with car wash coupons.

I have lived in Edmonton for over 16 years and have not experienced any disturbances due to safety negligence of a worksite. All I wanted was reassurance that the windshield would be fixed, and a guarantee that future worksites would follow proper safety guidelines. This was not given to me, and the manager made me feel that my claim was invalid.

Reported them to the city bylaw because they covered up a bunch of garbage with soil along my street. Lazy work.

Josh & Sheena were professional, hard working & skilled. They did an excellent job & always checked to see if we were happy with the way they had trimmed the trees. Davey Tree is lucky to have these 2 pleasant young employees!

Best tree company in the city (and I've tried tons). The arborists are knowledgeable and honest, and they do damn fine work. Shoutout for the great work on my property. Will definitely use again.

Easy to get a quote - with a friendly professional. They came on time with the right equipment and safety gear which is important to me. They were friendly and professional and did a great job in a safe manner. They may not be the cheapest but they definitely have experienced people for it. Will use them again

We just had a team of two Davy reps here at our condo property to save a large tree that had a split between two branches of the trunk. The reps were forthcoming in describing what they were doing and satisfactorily completed the job within time and quoted estimates. They had access to both large and small equipment to get the job done.

Outstanding work. Davey pulled off a very complicated tree removal job that other tree removal companies wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Very professional and clean work.

Davey Tree Arborists Peter and Jordan showed as scheduled, introduced themselves and got to work. Over two days they removed a 15 M Spruce and pruned another. Their work was superb; they operated safely, marked off the street, respected our property and left the job site clean with no limbs or debris. Happy neighbors. Great job. Thank you.

We were very happy with all aspects of the Davey Tree operations here in Edmonton.
Booking an appointment with the Arborist (Kevin) was quick and easy.
Kevin reviewed our entire property and gave us a very detailed estimate.
The work was divided into 3 components: deep root fertilization, tree cutting and trimming, and stump removal. In each case the staff arrived on time, performed their tasks as described on the estimate, and left our property as they had found it. We received an invoice within a week of completion and the final prices were identical to the original estimate.
We were also very happy to be able to pay the bill via Credit Card!
In all instances the staff met or exceeded our expectations.
I recommend DAVEY Tree services without hesitation or reservation!

The guys from Davey's, (Thomas and Dave), were prompt, well priced, and did quick work of the two maple trees we wanted removed, using their large bucket truck. The only negative was that they dropped a couple of large limbs on some ceramic masks I had hanging on the fence. I guess I should have taken them down before they got to the site if I wanted to ensure no damage to the masks, and they did hang what was left of the shards back on the fence before they left.

Update: Their Sales/Estimator contacted us to follow this up and went above and beyond to try and make things right. We settled on having another tree removed by them at a discounted rate. The next crew showed up and said they couldn't do the job on that day as quoted, because it involved tree climbing and manual removal. A final crew showed up two weeks later and tackled the remaining job with a bucket truck, no problem. The hitch this time? During the job, one of the crew members posted an ad on Kijiji offering free wood from the jobsite for one day only (we actually paid Davey for the wood removal). Unfortunately the ad was left up for three weeks with part of the wording of the ad saying if the ad was up, the wood was still available for pick up. We had several people show up looking for the free wood, and when I contacted the crew member directly on Kijiji asking for the ad to be taken down, he was condescending, indsenced, and went so far as running an additional ad simply indicating that anyone who reacted the way we did to his ad, or didn't read his ad fully was (his words) an idiot. Sigh. Davey, you guys do such good work when you show up, but why don't others throughout the company match with the behavior of your excellent Estimator? Mr. Left hand, have you met Mr. Right hand yet?

Arborist, Mihyar and his assistant Kaitlyn were out today to attend the Schubert Cherry tree in our front yard which desperately needed a pruning. They answered our questions, cleaned up and did not leave until they determined that we were satisfied with the work they had completed on the tree. Thank you so much!

Overpriced and the worst job on my trees EVER. This company must have new ownership. Never recommend or use again!

I worked for Davey Tree services years ago and Kevin Cassels, Ken Herd were the best bosses an employee could ask for.

Within about a week of me contacting them, someone came out and did an estimate, and a week later they came out and pruned my Poplar, Spruce and Apple trees.

Two of my trees were quite tall, and one was between my garage and house; their boom was no problem to maneuver over my garage to access the upper portion of my trees. I was impressed with how quickly everything took, and I'm very happy with how my trees look. They made sure I was happy with the shape of my trees, and they gave me advice on what I could do to continue to manage the health of my trees. I highly recommend!
