Had a really shady experience with one of the managers at this location a little while ago. I was stranded after a flight cancellation and called to book a room for 2 nights until my rescheduled flight. It was a morning flight that had been cancelled and I was prepared to hunker down at the airport a few more hours but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if an early check-in was possible. The associate passed me on to her manager and I explained the situation.

First off, he didn't really seem to believe that the room was only for me and kept asking me how many people I was bringing with me. After I reiterated like three separate times the room was for me and me alone, he umm'd and uhh'd a little and then said it was ok to do an early check-in. I asked to confirm the pricing and he responded that that they had several rooms available and that I could come immediately. I asked again and he finally quoted an amount that was significantly more than expected/listed online. When I questioned it he got really dodgey and I realized he was attempting to charge me for a full extra day on top and then saying I could "check in early".

Pretty icky to try and take advantage of someone like that.

Only downside is the executive lounge does not in anyway compare to the Marriott on 9th. Great pool, gym, restaurant, room upgrade, bar and restaurant. Also great location and lots of underground parking.

Because it is downtown, this accommodation is easily accessible and provides a comfortable stay. The staff are also friendly.

Outstanding location, and a perfect blend of 'let's get down to it' functional, comfortable austerity without unnecessary effluvience cluttering things up. And their Shoe & Canoe simple Public House is brill - there's nowhere in Canada you cannot get to at any time of year if you have a set of Snowshoes and a Canoe! Portage la Prairie indeed!

The room was great. The staff was lovey and very helpful. I believe the location is near a fire station so we heard sirens all night. Also a lot of noisy motor bikes.

We cannot say enough good things about the staff at the Delta downtown. They were attentive, accommodating, and very friendly, even though it was stampede weekend, and it was extra busy.

The room was updated and very cozy, although a little cramped for space for a family of four.

The location was excellent if you were going to the stampede, walking to any restaurant you can imagine.

The parking was convenient underground.

The pool was pretty chilly. The hot tub jets were excellent

Would stay here again.

It was a short stay, but nice. Easy to check in and check out. Restaurant required proof of vax to enter. The table were spaced out and staff wore masks. The food was excellent. The service was good. Nice place for couples and friends to gather.

I've stayed here a couple times and every time it's a good experience.
The staff here are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the pool with the waterslide is so fun!
They have nice soaps, shampoo and conditioner in the rooms as well, from L'Occitane.
The bar connected to the hotel as well as the breakfast restaurant had great food and drinks. We will definitely be coming back

Location was perfect, walking distance to everything we wanted to see in the downtown core. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy online early check-in and I loved the mobile key! So convenient, no chance of forgetting your room key because you definitely won’t leave your room without your phone. Room was very clean, modern and spacious enough for a couple. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. We didn’t hear any noise from outside and so we had a really good rest. Even the heater was so quiet, my spouse thought it was off. We loved the view of the river from our room and the horizon where we watched the sunset and the sunrise. Free parking on fridays and saturdays was an advantage, and we liked that even after check-out the next day, we are allowed to leave the car until 6pm at the parking lot and tour the city without worrying and paying for parking in the downtown area. Delta Hotel is highly recommended if you are looking into staying in the downtown core. We would definitely stay here again. We are happy clients as always. So far, I have been a member of Marriott since 2014 and I have never been disappointed in any of their hotels.

Nice hotel but not quiet at all.

You always here police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and cars or that are way to loud.

Seems like the noice resonates outside.
Not a peaceful stay.

The King bed room was very clean, very comfortable, and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I greatly appreciated that the bathroom had only a shower as opposed to a tub but that’s a personal preference. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, excellent service, good restaurant, close to everything in Calgary Downtown. However, be aware of fire station right next door to it. Which means frequent sirens.

Overall are good, but one thing I don’t like it the parking lot is full because of the hotel and public parking are in the same spot. So if you are come late and you need to park somewhere else. After my dinner around 7pm and I am waiting in the parking lot for a hour to get my spot.

Great room, nice view and nice bed. But when we ordered tea and coffee they had no milk and ran out of breakfast sandwiches at 6: 30 am. So we left and went to McDonald’s for tea and coffee.
They didn’t seem to care so we won’t be back.

Delta hotels by Marriott’s staff here at the front desk was bit rude. I did not feel welcoming as first impression. Short staff & busy time of the year. There was no bell/cart service to take the luggage to the room from the parking in the basement. When The cart was requested, the front desk staff informed that take it from other customers. Well, how am I going to do that? They expected us (our group visit) to go find the cart by going to every floor and then get our luggage up. Nit appropriate gesture for a hospitality industry. Hotel was busy in July 2021. People were gathering up impatiently to check them in. To keep in mind-Parking is first come first serve in the basement. Basement was bit confusing, no proper markings to go back to the lobby area. Took a while to figure out where to go and find elevators to bring luggage up.

Anyway, that being said, the rooms were clean and spacious. Comfortable to unwind yourself after the long day at the reception and luggage chaos. Spent a night there and breakfast was complimentary at shoe & canoe but they had no vegetarian options to have a good breakfast. However, manager was accommodating to arrange the Starbucks to enjoy breakfast.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The front/reception staff are super rude, gives false information and does not have good customer service skills at all. I originally booked my stay at Delta for 5 nights through Expedia - however, two weeks before my departure they had to transfer me to another hotel (Westin) due to unforeseen circumstances (which is totally fine) and honour the same rate I originally booked it at. On the night of my check-in, I noticed a charge of $1300 on my credit card ($500 over my original booking price) by Delta Hotels (a hotel im not even staying at) so I proceeded to call Delta and ask why and the lady told me that the hotel didn’t charge me and it’s Expedia and my credit card when it clearly says Delta. Fast forward after calling Expedia and my credit card, it turns out the lady gave me false information without clarifying causing me to call around for no reason. I then called again and spoke to Philip - he says he charged my card by accident and the money will be returned in 3-5 business days. After that charge has cleared, I noticed ANOTHER transaction on my bill from Delta charging $1000 ($200 over my original booking). As annoyed as I am, I called - and the same lady picked up - as I was explaining the situation to her, instead of apologizing or reassuring the customer, she rudely and condescending tone “Let me talk, you don’t understand”. What do you mean I don’t understand? You’re putting 2 charges on my credit card when I’m not even staying here?

However, shout out to Leo at Delta. He called me back within half an hour and helped me deal with this mishap. He even offered to go out of his way and deal with other hotel for me so I don’t have to struggle with payment upon checkout. Thank you so much Leo! We need more staff like you- super kind and well mannered

Short staffed hotel so staff is unable to respond to the queries quickly. Room was nice and clean. Important Feedback - PLEASE ADD VEGETARIAN OPTIONS to the breakfast menu. Manager was helpful as she helped us in accommodating our breakfast at Starbucks.

Booked the 1 Bedroom Junior Suite and found it nicely furnished and accommodated. The AC in the room is decent but was rather noisy and we found that getting the cool air to reach the bedroom was not very effective; this is obviously not a factor if the stay is during cooler weather. Noticed that the window sill in need of a dusting and clearing of dead insects. Onsite parking is convenient but can fill up quickly if hotel is at capacity. The location is in downtown Calgary and very close to Chinatown and other attractions like Stephen Avenue and CORE Shopping Centre.

Booked a room for 2 nights days in advance.was told at the check in that all the rooms were full. I know the Calgary stampede was going on but no notice of a different room change (not the same as the one I booked) and no parking available. On top of that the front desk was not helpful and impatient.seemed like they had something better to do on the computer than talk to me. Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.

Very good value for a modern downtown chain hotel, we paid $133 inc taxes for a Saturday night. Room was clean and modern, bed was comfy, large shower but no bath, if that'syour thing. Lots of electric outlets for laptop, phone chargers etc, HDMI cable so you can plug your laptop in and display on the TV, which is great if you want to stream movies or play something you've downloaded.
Noon checkout was a nice touch too, rather than the usual 11am. Definitely recommend staying here.

Completed some electrical work for this company and they are well past 90 days in paying. I've reached out multiple times to the head of maintenance who hired me and was assured I would be paid. After that I was passed along to the director of finance and have left over 15 voicemails, never received a call or any communication for that matter. I would be cautious to do work for this hotel. I will update if they end up paying.

The Delta is without a doubt the most stylish redesign I have seen by a Marriott brand.

The rooms are spacious and bright, with windows spanning a whole wall, and provide a stunning view of the Calgary Tower on the city side.

The lobby was welcoming, and the team members were sincere and accommodating. Each piece of furniture and art brought a bright, architectural vibe to the space.

Dining options here are extensive, with a ready to grab snack counter, a full service restaurant and bar, and an in lobby Starbucks. The coffee in room if among the worst I’ve ever had, so this is a necessity.

I look forward to returning here, and I’m intrigued to see if they are able to upgrade this to a five star experience on future visits.

Had a nice stay during the pandemic. Was able to book the pool twice during our stay. They made sure that the pool and the amenities were clean before and after visiting. The front of house staff was amazing and were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet.

Checked in around 2: 00 am after a long drive and we had plans to leave at 9: 00am… We were told we would be paying full price for the 7 hours of our occupancy, no problem this is a 4 star hotel so we didn't mind because we thought we would be getting a nice room and a comfortable sleep. We got to the room and the beds were nicely made, I pulled back the comforter and there were stains on the sheet and what looked like pubic hair…. DISGUSTING. My husband and I were exhausted and didn't want to deal with the inconvenience that was eating away at the little time we had left to get some sleep. We ended up sleeping on top of the comforter stiff like a board and disgusted that we were paying $180 for the night (after parking) for this experience. IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CLEANLINESS OF YOUR ROOM STAY HERE.

Not satisfied at all.

It’s our first time here and probably the last too.

We requested for the very top Room to see the majestic downtown especially at night and they gave us the room 1416 (14th floor) which we can’t even see downtown at all. I don’t see the purpose of advance booking and advance request room if they can’t even do it.

NOT RECOMMENDABLE.

Excellent service at this location. We were upgraded to a corner room on one of the top floors. Parking has in and out privileges which is always a bonus. They recently renovated as I stayed here a couple years ago and have to say the contemporary look in the lobby area is awesome.

There is a front desk employee named "Cass" for "Cassandra". She made our stay so wonderful. We forgot about the strain covid has had on us and especially my wife's birthday and the extreme safety they take here is amazing. I felt safe and comfortable. It was large part because of her recommendations in restaurants and everything around Calgary. If you get the chance to come here. Ask for "Cass". Other employees are great as well. But as the book: '7 habits of highly effective people' says, she gave 'exceptionally personalized service". Her restaurant picks were spot on. Her sense of humor was exceptional. And with even the mask they're mandatorily supposed to have on, she screamed positivity and joyfulness. I would definitely give her a raise and a pat on the back. We need more people like her in this world in a time like this. Great job sis!

Nice hotel and it's connected in the +15. So in the middle of winter I didn't have to go outside to get to the government building and to shopping/many great restaurant.

The location, parking, convenience and service was excellent but Alison in the Shoe and Canoe restaurant was outstanding. She is exactly what you want to represent you business and city. Alison treated us like family and made us feel so welcome. Because of that we will always stay here for our visits. Food was very good as well.
Great job, people like Alison set you above and beyond.
Highly recommend.

Always love staying at this hotel whether it be business or pleasure. Even when they were under construction they were more than accommodating. Nice view of the Calgary Tower as well.

Excellent hotel in downtown Calgary.

Service was impeccable, for example, the doorman recognized that I was walking to my car with coffees in hand and was right there to open the door for me.

The resturant, the Shoe and Canoe, was excellent for breakfast.

No complaints, will stay there again.

Nice stay there. Comfy, quite dark rooms. Walking distance to all the downtown core including stempede grounds. Bow River trail very nice to run on (use the western section, east can be a bit sketchy). Fitness room above standard for hotels. Staff very courteous and engaged in your satisfaction. Thanks:)

Nice hotel, great location, nice updated room, Great Staff. Deducting one star due to traffic noise. Hotel is located on a busy road (my room faced the river) and there was a lot of road noise. I would stay here again despite the noise.

Held a management retreat over the course of 3 days and had 25 people stay and use all of the facilities. Wonderful new renovations to the room and the hotel and it was very pleasant! Very attentive staff that helped our party. Amazing, would definitely hold another event here. Big thanks to Silviya!

We stayed overnight waiting for our flight out, so we were only in the building for about 11 hours. The hotel had a very modern feel. Service was good. The room was very nice. The bed was comfortable. Three bathroom was very modern with a nice clean, bright look. Good restaurant/bar in the main lounge area.

The hotel staff were all wearing jeans and do look like they are on the maintenance team. Our room wasn't serviced we had to request this at 8 in the evening. Paper cups in the room. Room service breakfast served in plastic tubs with plastic cutlery. So much for going 'green. Won't be staying in a Marriott again.

I have to give this place 5-stars and I'll tell you why. First off, my newly wedded wife and I stayed here the day of our wedding in Calgary. We didn't get in until late afternoon. Then we had to head out to our reception and back later in the evening.

The front reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They waived our parking fee because it was a special occasion for us. Then we had an incident when my wife was taking something out of the vehicle that her bustle broke. We needed the dress for the next day because we had a reception in Edmonton. So Sophia whom I believe is probably one of the managers there. She said she would be able to fix it. So they came up to our room, took the dress away, and not even 30 minutes later came back with the dress repaired. We also had Sharlene (Sorry if I spelt it wrong) that assisted us in this ordeal. Once we ordered some food we were surprised the kitchen had given us some treats along with it at no cost. My wife also had asked if there is somewhere where they could store the bouquet for the night. Sophia was able to take it to a fridge for storage. The team also provided us with some stain removers as the dress was stained from walking around in grass/dirt.

Just when we thought things couldn't get any better our room was also upgraded when we checked in to a corner suite. No noise could be heard, it was an amazing view and a great location. The room was extremely clean.

The next day, while checking out, everyone greeted us with a smile. When I mean everyone literally everyone from staff, cleaners, to guests. We got held up at checkout because the one of the managers from the kitchen/bar had goodie bags for us. I forget his name but extremely friendly guy and helpful. Packed us both goodie bags of Bubly, bars, yogurt, fruits, candy, etc.for our long road trip to Edmonton.

Overall, I would highly recommend this location and the staff there. If you want a great place to stay, they've got it. If you want a great place to eat in, they also got it. The service is superb, I can't say and remember the last time. That I had service + quality like this at any hotels that I've stayed at.

I really want to thank the team from the bottom of my heart at the Delta Hotel Downtown. On what an amazing experience they provided my wife and I. We walked away not feeling like a customer, or just another guest. But family. So thank you! For all that you did, and how above and beyond you guys went for us to make our special day even more special. I can't even put into words how both of us felt on that day.

We had a great stay but what really stood out is a week later they let us store our bags with them for a few hours. We had a few hours to kill a week after we stayed with them and without hesitation they held our bags for us while we walked around the the city before our flight. I was shocked how nice they were about it. Thank you for being so kind!

The service is 5 stars. If the rooms got an update I would give it more stars. We have stayed and used Delta downtown many times. The main time we used delta was for our wedding guests to stay and do group bookings. The staff got back to us very quickly with a group rate for guests. Most guests were close to one another. They were very accommodating even with some demanding guests. Their lobby bar was a perfect meet up spot. All the staff from check in, valet, room cleaners and especially the bar staff were fantastic and so nice! They made it a great, memorable experience. Their rooms are a bit out dated. I stayed in a regular room and a suite. Their suite had a tub in the room, not the bathroom but the actual room. I felt like I had entered a bad 90’s movie. At least their was no heart shaped bed. The bathrooms need major updates. If they painted, replaced carpets and updated bathrooms they could compete with the Sheraton down the street. However the staff here are 1000 times better and are the reason we use them again.

Staff are great, location is fine, rooms are good, etc. The deal breaker is they now want to charge $5 to have an $18 sandwich delivered to your room. Yes, you can go pick it up but if this doesn't reek of nickel and diming I don't know what does. What's next, am I going to be charged for using the closet or the fridge? Get rid of this policy, it's greedy and shortsighted.

Newly renovated downtown hotel with the new look and feels of the Delta brand. Their Shoe & Canoe restaurant is beautifully designed with an open design.
Their Yoga & Stretching room is definitely a nice place to relax and rewind. Highly recommend this hotel. Especially with $15 parking rate on the weekend at downtown Calgary. I'd call that a good deal!

Came down for a girls trip to Calgary and we all enjoyed our time spent at Delta. Front staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was trendy and comfortable. Shout out to Emma and Erald in the lounge, they were fantastic.

Room was great. *Mostly* clean bathroom. We weren't warned about the construction/lack of an elevator to the parkade. A hard trip up the stairs with luggage. Made the wife carry everything so it was fine for me. Good beer and decent food on the main level.

Staff is very friendly otherwise i would not of stayed another night. The manager needs to be more present and walk around. The hotel is still under renovations so the lobby is a mess. The checking counter consists of 3 cafeteria tables with computers. Josette was very pleasant and friendly. Elevators are problematic and 2 seem to be out of service or blocked for workers. Be prepared to wait. Room is new but insanely dusty. At 7 am there was a worker just outside my door who woke me up. I went out and he was on a ladder doing plaster. I wasnt very happy. The young lady at the front desk told me she would give me a good amount of point for the inconvenience. That didnt happen. Breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive and was cold. For business travelers, this hotel is far from ready for you. To the manager: i would like to be contacted

Room was nice, elite pantry was convenient, food from restaurant was not. Sous vide steak with avocado and corn was bland and disgusting. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for the cook but would not eat there again.

Super awesome product with amazing service. Love the open concept lobby with food & beverage offerings, great meeting spaces, workout floor (an entire floor dedicated on fitness & wellness). Guest rooms are well thought through even for most critical business guests. Love the transformation of my old hotel.

Big rooms, perfect location, wonderful staff who went out of their way to assist with my lost luggage. Very nice restaurant on site, as well as a Starbucks. Very cool design elements like copper piping for dividers. I'd stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel every week while working in Calgary for the past 4 months. The hotel has just finished a complete renovation but, what it's trying to make up for in aesthetics it lacks other places. The new "Social House" restaurant is obnoxiously loud as the music is always blaring and the acoustics are very poor. It's not they type of place to have a business conversation with colleagues. The menu is very limited and the food is average at best and very expensive. There are a lot of restaurants close to the hotel with better food and cheaper prices, so don't waste your money in here.

The rooms are quite nice and well-appointed however, because of the way this hotel is situated, the road noise in the rooms is quite loud and disturbing. It's especially loud on the south side as the main downtown Fire Hall is directly beside the hotel. I have stayed in rooms on many of the floors as well, on both sides of the hotel and there is really no difference on any of the floors. The windows are old and not well insulated and because I have stayed during the winter, the cold comes through them quite a bit. For a hotel right in the downtown core, you would think this would have been on their radar for this massive renovation as the goal of any quality hotel with premium pricing should be guest comfort.

The TV system they have in the hotel is complete garbage. Every stay, I have had to call the front desk at least 2 out of the 4 nights because the TV is so distorted and pixelated and, the sound cuts in and out to a point where you can't even watch it. Finally, there is a huge gap around the door to each of the rooms and the self-closing mechanism slams every door closed. Due to the gap and the doors and frames being metal, it echos down the hallway each time someone leaves their room and is so loud, it has woken me up on many nights and you can hear every noise in the hallway including the elevator doing when it stops at that floor.

Finally, the entire staff are super friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with and the hotel is conveniently located downtown. It has access to the +15 network from the second floor which is great for those cold Calgary mornings.
