Overall we love the warm and small community education environment which foster meaningful relationships. Our daughter receives lots of care from everyone and we definitely impressed by so many teachers knowing her already which helps her to connect and settle in fast. We can tell she enjoys all the new friends she makes. We appreciate the communication received from school and enjoy the dragon blog especially the pictures as it helps us to know what she learned and how she does in class.

We love Delta West Academy and our son going on his second year has really become engaged with his learning and interest in school and become a avid reader. The teachers are amazing and we love all of the off school and sports learning and robotics and computer class options for kids. We are always updated on what he did in each class each week to help support his learning at home and lots of engagement from his teachers on where to improve and the test with marks come home for us to review. We feel really engaged with everyone in the school from the facility to other parents in the classes. Best choice we made for our son for his learning and growth was to transfer him to Delta West.

This is the best school I've been to by far. There's not one small aspect I'd change about this school. I enjoyed every day here at DWA and hope that others will as well. The small class sizes helped me get one on one time with teachers rather that having thirty other students in my class. My future success will come from this amazing school and I definitely recommend this school for others.

My son went to this school for 1 year and hated it here. He explained to me that one day a teacher sat on a table and it broke. They had to have a fun raiser to buy and new one. I also realized that my son Deront had 1 other student in his class. This was back in the year of 2016, hopefully there was some change.
Please help DWA!

“We could not have found a better school for my son in Grade X”.

I always believed that my boy had the potential to do better, but he needed an environment that would foster self motivation and instill a sense of responsibility to do better. DWA has definitely provided him with that. The direct communication with the subject teachers provides us with continuous input into his test scores and miscellaneous activities. The young man has a sense of pride in being part of DWA and there is nothing more important than a happy high school student.

This is my first year at delta west academy it has been amazing 5 months of my learning experience. I am in grade 5 and I have been learning a-lot and I have been having fun and learning at the same time. If you are looking for a school this is the one.

I was here for quite a while (pre k-grade 10) and the small class sizes are definitely a bonus, in elementary. As one moves through the grades in Delta West, the class sizes slowly shrink, many opportunities become lost. I moved to a different private school, within the same price range, and was able to go on a field trip PER WEEK. The first two months have given me more opportunities than a couple years at Delta West. I would definitely recommend this school for someone who is looking for an amazing elementary school for a solid foundation. I do feel that I have been left behind in junior high. If you are looking for an extremely tight knit connection with the teachers and staff this is the school for you. If you are the opportunist (such as myself) do look for another school. One of the biggest issues with this school was the lack of friends. Many of the classes have around 5-6 people, not 10. This can potentially mean that you wont make as many friends as you would have, with a medium sized school. Through my years here, they have increased the price almost every year, but much of the activities have been decreased. The school population is about 70, and from what I have heard, there has already been two kids expelled and no graduating class. I do hope you find this review helpful.

We enrolled both of our children, and they will be attending Grade 2 and 1 in the coming 2018-2019 school year. Our son started two years ago in Sr. Kindergarten, and we were so impressed with his progress. He's grown so much in maturity, and the school definitely foster's the community spirit. I was amazed that my daughter in Kindergarten was able to say good morning to a boy in Grade 12.

Our children have polar opposite personalities, and the school has been able to engage both kids, and we've seen great gains in the areas they were having difficulties in. We really feel the smaller class sizes have helped with this, due to the attention they can get from their teachers.

The other parents at the school have been great. The community is friendly and welcoming, since we joined the school.

The teachers have been amazing. All the teachers know all the children in the school, even if they don't teach them. The teachers have been prompt when replying to our emails, and have been extremely accommodating when it comes to our son's allergies. The teacher's truly understand how our kids like to learn, and give them the opportunities to thrive at school.

We're so happy to have our children attending Delta West, and recommend others to consider this school when considering schools for their child/children.

We have had our son at this school from grade 6 to 8 and he will be starting grade 9 this September. He has really enjoyed the school and in particular the extra sport option and cooking option. He has absolutely benefited from the small class size instruction, although class sizes might be a bit too small for his current grade level. Communication from his teachers back to us has been excellent as well, keeping us aware of successes, issues, upcoming assignments, and on going projects in the class.

We started both of our children at Delta West Academy (DWA) nearly 10 years ago. We then bought a little farm south of Calgary and moved our children into the public education system. That lasted for about a year! We put our youngest son back into DWA and 2 years later he is achieving an over 80 average. This could not have happened without the outstanding academic focus this school offers. Our son's confidence is brimming right now and he feels like he can conquer the world.again. Thanks DWA for all that you have done for our family!

Our daughter has attended kindergarten and grade 1 at DWA and absolutely adores the school, the activities, the teachers and all of her schoolmates from across the grades. The fact she knows everyone in all the grades isn’t just because of DWA being a smaller school - it’s because it’s a community. The classroom sizes are smaller, and help facilitate more one on one time with teachers. Our daughter was so sad as the end of the school year approached, as she would miss the teachers and her friends. When I grew up I couldn’t wait for the school year to end! The field trips and fun events steeped in tradition are also a highlight. As a parent, there is easy access to teachers who have been willing and quick to respond to any question I’ve had, and that includes questions directed to the administration. I have a question to email probably once a week and have never lacked in a response from the school. A community culture was most important to us in choosing a private school, and the fact our daughter is also thriving academically and as an avid learner rounds out our positive experience thus far.
