Our health system is garbage. How are you suppose to convince a 6 years old child to be patient when there is 6-8 hours wait while he is in pain.

The system is broken that’s for sure.
I Went in today, arrived @ 2 pm left @ 9: 40 pm. The staff in emergency today was wonderful. 1 amazing doctor, Dr. Gupta (hope I spelt his name right) 1 doctors, for the entire emergency department. I’ve never seen a doctor run. He was running. It was a long wait but folks they are doing the best they can with what they have.

Horrible wait times. I went I to get my lung tube drained I was sent here by my surgeon with instructions to get me in asap because I'm supposed to be on bed rest at home. I waited 6 hours still no help and when I went and asked calmly how much longer because I didn't have my prescription and I'm not supposed to be up and about this long because I was told it should only take an hour they threatened to kick me out for being aggressive if you need health care go anywhere else despite the wait times bet you will get help there. Somebody needs to fix this.

My boyfriend went there yesterday with a super bad infection in his hand, he did not have his health care card on him which the admin staff knew about upon registration. They let him wait in the waiting room for five hours and the doctor (Asian guy, don’t know the name unfortunately) told him he would need to pay him before even seeing him and when my boyfriend explained his health card (number) would be available by the next morning he was told he would NOT be helped and got sent away in desperate pain and hours wasted. We ended up going to the U of A which was also a horrible wait unfortunately, but the staff there said they had never heard of someone being sent away for not having their card on them and saying they didn’t want to pay since the health card would be there the next morning which would mean he didn’t have to pay up front. 10/10 do not recommend

I want to thank DR Wong and DR Doell and there staff for a great job they did Saturday night and Sunday morning for me.

I was at this hospital last night, I was waiting to talk to triage for about 30 minutes but once I talked to them they got me in within the next 10 minutes. They ran a whole bunch of tests right away and once we diagnosed that I was in no imminent danger I was able to be sent home with some prerequisites to look further into my issues.

Sure, no one wants to be sent home with paperwork & no answers and have to go to another doctors/etc, but once we were able to diagnose that I was in no immediate danger, there was no need for their hospital to spend more time with me and using resources on me for something that wasn't dire.

You need to ignore some of the other low stars because if you read why they came you can see that their problem is not a critical emergency, & you could have gone to a family doctor about that and that shouldn't be reflected on the hospital.

It's a very small hospital and they are prioritizing people with possible real issues that could be vital to their health, and I truly believe they do a really good job doing so.

My father took me here in January 1st of 2023, due to walk in clinics being closed. We had gotten there very early in the morning, and even with the waiting room being practically empty, it still took them over 5 hours to see us. I had an ear infection, and I knew exactly what was wrong, I told the dr, and she didn’t listen at all. She did diagnose me, but instead of treating the infection, she gave me a nasal spray that doesn’t even target anything that I came in for. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, even if the wait time is super low, you’ll be there for hours
