Beautiful spot right along the river. There are walking trails and various pet areas to take your dogs. There are 3 small play areas and horseshoe pits (you have to bring your own horseshoes) Would be great to add a store to sell necessities that you may forget. Luckily it is only a 3 min drive to stores.
Went camping here for Thanksgiving! Amazing! Bathrooms kept impeccably clean. Views were amazing. Price reasonable for a powered site. I would go back here again! Ladies at front desk had good customer service.
One of the best campgrounds in western Canada. Well kept, good services. The trails are fantastic and well connected to the town of Devon and amenities. You can go to camp, just have a picnic, rent out one of the facilities for an event. A must see if you are in the area!
I went there for a Cultural event, we stayed in the gazebo and everyone had a great experience.gazebos are spacious and have very good fire pits.the parks near the gazebo area were very well maintained and we saw almost no litter in the area.
A lovely place to camp! The sites are quite small and there isn’t a lot of privacy, but we didn’t even really notice! Full hookups and the beautiful scenery more than make up for it! Our first night, there was an issue with the power hookup, and the staff was super accommodating and found us a new site promptly! Highly recommend!
Beautiful park with lots of stuff to do. Very clean and well kept. Had an issue with the power when we pulled in and they accommodated moving us until they could fix the problem (which happened the next morning).
Beautiful campground and really well maintained. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Kids made friends and there are quite a few playgrounds, spent time at the river and took a trip from the bridge in Devon down the river on floaties back to the grounds. Such a nice few days!
Great spot close to the city. I have lived in Edmonton my whole life and have never check out this area but really should have. It beside the river and the Devon golf course. Beautiful family friendly campground with 4 parks. Wifi is decent when not inside the trailer.
Well serviced camping spots located conveniently to river beaches and biking/hiking trails! Spots are close together with few trees and little privacy. Bathrooms are good with flush toilets and showers. Place is well-kept.
Nice campground but it is crowded. Very well maintained and really nicely treed. Not all sites have full hookup. The campground is located on the North Saskatchewan River (you can be a pirate too), so its great for kayaking and such. It is really nice for families. Very friendly staff at check in. Devon also has a really nice public splash park. Its also close to Leduc and Edmonton
To be honest, we have yet to stay at the campground lol our first visit is for Canada day long weekend but we are so excited! I guess right now my review is based on one person and her name is Kara. Over the last.since winter we have been making plans because we knew weekends would be booked up if we waiting to long to book. I have emailed Kara probably way too many times haha but every time she is so friendly, so kind, so informative, so helpful even with those silly questions lol just my experience with her alone I know our camping trips are going to be great! Thanks Kara!
Yes, many of the spaces are cramped, but also if you travel small you end up with more than you bargained for!
We were not aware of the Louder and Quieter sides of the park. Must inquire about this, as our time by the NSR was pleasantly quiet for the most part.
The park has many walking trails, a couple that go for miles into the wilderness, even though you are next door to a large town!
This is a Lions Club Investment, so there is no one single owner, as a previously disappointed guest complained about. I do believe that the Hosts are either Volunteers or Locals that are Paid for by the Lions Club dues & fees from the park.
Yes this is a Monster of a Profit House, but the Staff are always on top of any minor problems that arise. I recall my wife had a problem at the Ladies Washroom, and I took our puppy for a walk to hunt the guy that cleans out the fire pits, found him, and he was on the radio to another Parks Maintenance Personnel.by the time we returned to washroom, there was a cart there, side was closed off, and within 20 minutes, the situation was resolved! That people was either perfect timing or people that care for the place they work at! I think the latter.
This weekend, we will be spending 5 days at the campground. If you ask, you will find out that you can pan for Gold by the Tent Sites. Did so last year, and shall do the same this year.
All-in-all, this will be one of the finest Canadian Campgrounds you'll encounter! It is located just over 1/2 hour to the WEM as well!
This campground has spaces for motorhomes and the camping. There is a great playground for kids and a big field for all sorts of ball games, frisbee, etc. The gazebo can host parties. It's a great place for either a day trip or weekend camping beside the river.
The campsite was well taken care of, some of the sites don't offer a lot of privacy (trees inbetween) but if you look before you book you can find some. There's lots to do here and is family friendly
Can't say better things about this campground. Love it to the core. My child got sick with less than 48 hour notice. They waived our cancelation fee! Small gesture by the campground admin staff has made a life-long customer out of me.
Thank you so much!
BTW, we stay there all the time. Beautiful, clean and primo location! Do yourself a favor and check it out!
One of the best family friendly campgrounds you'll find close to Edmonton.limited tenting spots so book ahead! Power water washrooms with showers and laundry facilities available! Loved our time there ️! Operators are very caring and helpful! Close to river with tons of walking trails.
Very poor response to emails, phone calls and the camping sites are quite close together. So, if you like a noisy camping ground, than this place will suit you. Happy Camping!
Awesome. Lots of different choices to park your RV, camper or tent. Great walking paths. Dog friendly. Met some nice people too. The park is kept clean and tidy. Definitely recommend.
Totally recommend for hiking, riverside strolling. You dont have to purchase camping to just go there and enjoy nature. We packed some snacks and hiked for about hour and half. Will come back for sure!
Very cozy facility, You can Wade in the river at low water level, Devon trails are very decent, Paved for the most part and rough trails for the adventurous. Watch out for the bear though, That's the Maintenance guy.
Love this campground, we come here a few times a year. Nice and close to Edmonton. Being right on the river it is also a great place to start or end a canoeing trip. Tonns of children play areas, paved roads throughout the campground make for great bike riding. Lots of bush trails around the area for hiking as well.
Great campground, sites were clean, bathrooms very clean, men’s shower 3 stalls, only 2 working. Water very hot. WI-FI very poor. Next door to Devon Public Golf Course. Within: 30mins drive to Edmonton. Hope this helps. I will stay there again.
It’s a nice, tidy park where you can camp with your camper or tent. Electricity and water is available. The washroom is well maintained with running water. The location is not very far from Edmonton. There is a big playground and walking trail by the river and also another walking trail to climb the mountain. There is nothing much activity you can do actually and the view is very ordinary.
Did a drive through, right by the river, great for kayaking, tents trailers, back packing tenting.awesome view & trails.very convenient for all your needs close to the town.
Great campground right beside the river. Lots of spaces and a really quiet area. However the only reason for not giving 5 stars is, I did not like paying to see my parents while they were camping, and had already paid for their site.didnt really make sense.
The best campground around for families.the staff are wonderful and friendly. I saw on the news there is a problem with alligators and snakes! So we took a few pictures of those
Great place! Well maintained, clean, new additions to the playground/park area. Several walking trails. Nice laundry and really clean restrooms and showers. Good find!
One of the best campground we’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful scenery along the river. Busy place but very quiet after dark. Lots of facilities and walking paths.
We had such an amazing time! Everyone was so friendly even our neighbours! Everyone was there, even other campers were so willing to help when you needed it the most. The lady behind the desk was wonderful! And the campground was sooo clean. Still cannot believe it was so close to home but felt like you were in bc or something. Bathrooms were kept prett clean. And wow 5 playgrounds for kids to play! My daughter had the best time ever! Thanks to the Devon Lions campground staff and neighbours we had the best time ever! ️ Definitely reccoment this to anyone looking for a close place to camp but feel like you're far away! We will be back next weekend for sure!
There is so much attention to detail, making walks very interesting. People were floating down the river and waving to the campers. Lots to do for kids. Many playgrounds. Campers were biking, doing sports, and having bbq's and firepits. Relaxed atmosphere. Very well managed.
I recommend you visit Devon Lions Campground car show, Fabulous. A lovely day well spent with family and relatives. The Town of Devon has North Saskatchewan River a hidden astounding places to be discovered. I recommend to visit the location. Remarkable. Town of Devon, Alberta - Canada
Just spent May 10 & 11 at this campground with our new motorhome for a test run. This campground is absolutely wonderful. Friendly staff and super easy registration process; lots of playgrounds, a huge open field for softball or soccer or kite flying. Very clean washrooms and campsites. Lovely to be by the river. Highly recommend it. Going back in June!
To begin with, I'm only giving this "campground" 1 star because that's the lowest score possible. This was the campground we chose to spend our May long weekend and had booked several months in advance. During the booking process I was given a couple of options on sites and asked them to chose the best one as I hadn't been there before and didn't have a preference. So, it was quite the shock to arrive at this campground and discover that the site that was booked for us (#16) could in no way be described as a campsite. It was an incredibly tiny site that our trailer wouldn't fit into (they knew the size of my trailer when I booked) and our trailer isn't big. It was so small that fire pit had to basically sit on the picnic table. It was so close to the next site over that you would have had to step over their sewer hose to move around. I've camped in hundreds of campgrounds all over North America and have never been to a campground as awful as this one. There should have been maybe 30 sites but they crammed in over 100 sites. There is no privacy or space. It is a truly awful place to camp and the moment we drove into the campground we knew we had made a big mistake.
My wife and I were so disgusted by this campground we refused to stay there. When I went to discuss this with the staff at the front office I was told there could be no refund as I had already paid. There was nothing about this policy on the emails I received and it had been less than 10 minutes since I paid. I'm assuming they have this stupid policy because so many people request refunds after seeing how horrible their campsite is after paying. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU'VE SEEN YOUR SITE (or book somewhere else). The lady working at the counter was an incredibly unpleasant women who desperately needs a lesson or two in providing decent customer service. My favourite comment from her was "I'm sorry you're so picky". What kind of person says that? ! She said she would lose her job if she refunded me my money but she should lose her job for the way she treated a paying customer. Despite not receiving a refund there was no way we were staying at this dump. We were able to find a much nicer campground to spend our weekend and will never consider this place again.
One more thing. I really question how anyone could give this garbage campground a 5 star rating or anything close to that. I get that not everyone will have had as awful of an experience as me and that some people might like the idea of not having enough space to back in, put out a mat or have a fire, but there is absolutely no way anyone could go to this place and think "this is one of the most perfect places to camp anywhere. " It looks like a dumpy trailer park. I really question who is writing these glowing reviews. Either they've never been to another campground anywhere, they aren't real, or they are paid by the campground.
Some of the sites are not that well maintained. Dirty tables, garbage in fire pits and just a general lack of maintenance. We asked to move to a cleaner site and they were very accommodating. Location is great and the amenities are good.
This has got to be the absolute worse campground. We asked for a larger spot. We could hardly get into the place. Could not put out our awning because there was no room. We could not fully extend our slide out. We asked for a different spot and were told sorry we reserved 3 spots and that’s what we got. The family with us had the same problem. It was noisy all night. The person beside us almost blew up our camper as he had a fire and we asked him to put it out after an argument we finally sat outside to ensure it was out. Had dogs under our trailer.pee on our fenders. Terrible experience,
