Avoid this place at all costs. Despite their fancy words on their website about quality control and standing behind their work, they totally will not warrantee their engines in any way. The engine my mechanic I got from them lasted a whole 4000 miles. And they will not answer any phone calls or emails to the warranty department. Their warranty is about 30 something pages of why they are not going to stand behind their work. Apparently they used to be a really good company before they got bought out last year. Now they suck. My plan is to contact every single parts company and every single diesel repair company in the entire United States and let them know how bad this company is.

Horrible;
If I had my money and time back I would have simply done the research and rebuild the engine myself the first time I removed it.

Dealing with warranty for excessive oil consumption, it has not been favorable at all and they did not follow through with the repair or honour it.

The service isn’t personable and it’s been difficult to get results. I can’t imagine if I wasn’t mechanically inclined I’m sure I wouldn’t have gotten any service at all.

It took a lot of time and effort to prove that the amount was excessive, when I finally did and they agreed to warranty it due to it either being valve guides or piston / ring installation I found out as I pulled the engine 8 valve guide seals were not installed properly and floating with the valve guides.

At that point they admitted to having know of a series of defective valve guide seals.

When I brought the engine in I insisted to have the bottom end also removed, honed and new rings installed. They assured me it didn’t need it. After the second installation, again it still consumed oil just not as much. Most likely due to oil consumption from day 1.

I’ve been left with no help and I’ll be forced to removing the engine at my cost and rebuild it properly myself.

The process was drawn out due to my busy work season. Originally they agreed that it could wait till the spring to remove the second engine once my season was over at this point they reneged and are now declining any kind of warranty.

Long story short!

I bought a product that wasn’t proven and also not backed by good service.

I hope this information can deter some one else from a bad experience.

If choosing to use them, be ready for down time and headaches to be able to follow through with warranty, also be sure every thing is on e mail. Red tape and literature they quote also isn’t favorable.

We've spent around 100k on engines with DFC, the first few years were awesome, customer service was great, no warranty issues, great quality product. Unfortunately in the last year or so the customer service has dropped completely, the warranty department takes weeks at times now to respond back to you. On top of that the quality has really disappointed us. We've had 6.7 powerstrokes with seized valve stems in the cylinder heads, engine oil leaks from seals pressed in incorrectly, and engines that are just straight imbalanced. Very frustrating to say the least.

I have had an engine from DFC with the new speed of air pistons for over 25000km.i have to say i was skeptical at first. My 1997 dodge increased mileage about 2.5 miles per gallon the turbo spools much faster and the engine is cleaner.these new pistons are worth it hands down.

Purchased a 6.6 Duramax from DFC Diesel through a Diesel Dealer in Regina, SK. Had the motor installed and the new turbo failed, figured the turbo was faulty, put another turbo on it and it failed as well. Ended up being the motor not assembled property and the motor causing the turbos to fail. DFC has not and will not reinburse me for these extra turbos, extra $4000 in repairs because of the motor purchased from DFC Diesel. All started Sept 2022 and finally spoke with someone from there warranty department Jan 2023 which went nowhere and called again Feb 2023 to be told they aren't helping.

Just had a job interview here where a neurotypical person told me I wouldn't be a good fit because his son has ADHD and this means that he somehow understands my ADHD and it's limitations.

I’ve had a DFC engine with SOA positions for almost a year and all I can say is wow. Engine is quiet and the power difference is unreal, fuel milage has improved and boost reaction time is incredible! So happy with the outcome of this engine and craftsmanship, I’d recommend this product to anyone who’s looking for an engine for their truck in any application!

Poor quality. Poor customer service.
Bought a tow package last year and it's been a nightmare since. Less then 10,000 kms and the motor is back with them. Always felt like I have to chase them for answers. No mechanical shops want to deal with them.

Great crate engines, still running smooth after 50,000km make sure to find a good installer if you plan on purchasing one of these engines.

23k miles, a year and 6 months, $13,000 wasted. Won’t warranty after 1 year I’m sure they’ll respond to this to show they want to correct this but we’d rather eat the $4,000 rebuild and have a dependable engine than put another DFC engine in.

Great shop Matt. Hope you continue to do very well at your business. Clean and efficient engine manufacturers.

I am not a very happy person right now. Got a motor put in about a month ago that came from these people. I had 600 mile oil change and the mechanic had to replace leaking seal on the motor. Now around the month mark I have a broken crankshaft. I am sorry but I will not recommend these people to know one at all. To have all this happen in one month is pretty bad. They need to take more pride in there work. Must not have been new parts in the motor.

These guys make the best engines.

If you want your engine to last and perform, buy it here.

I bought a long block from DFC Diesel for my 2015 Ram 4500.30k miles later it put a piston out the side of the engine block one morning when I started it up. I towed it back to the shop and they sent the engine back to DFC Diesel thinking it would be a straight forward warranty replacement. A while later they came back to me saying that it was my fault because they came to the conclusion that I over-revved it. After fighting this diagnoses for several months they gave me the choice to send the engine to a third party for analysis. By this time I had lost trust in them as a company because of the way they were treating me. It was 9 months after the truck broke down until they finally told me they would send a new engine and cover it with their warranty. They do not cover nearly enough labor or any other parts damaged by the engine failure. This repair still cost me over $6,000.00 plus having my truck setting at the shop for almost a year waiting for them! Dealing with them has been a horrible experience that I would not wish on anyone. This company has cost me literally 10's of thousands of dollars because of their incompetence. (With down time, towing, parts, labor, having to buy a new truck and the list could go on and on!) Bottom line is, a company is only as good as their warranty is and DFC Diesel SUCKS!

Went there last week with my 3500 Cummings thinking I had an issue with my turbo. Spoke with crystal and she was very knowledgeable and upfront about what was happening and what could happen regarding the situation. They took truck in, and right away they told me I had very little work needed. Kudos for not coming back and saying that there would be more work needed and charging me unnecessary fees. Highly recommended. Thanks again.

Engine leaked as soon as it was started. Then the high pressure pump failed. No warranty. Then the turbo failed mom warrant. 30,000 dollars spend on original invoice. They are ridiculous to deal with and won't stand behind their product. Do not bit from then. Same pricing as the dealer and warranty is three years un limited km

I have bought several engines from DFC and been extremely pleased with their product as well as their service! Just picked up my latest engine from them and had a tour of the shop. WOW is all I can say. The attention to detail they put into each build is amazing. They take steps in building engines most ignore. I've been doing this a long time and was very impressed. Keep up the good work guys. Can't go wrong doing business with DFC Diesel.

BC Diesel has sold over $250,000 in DFC engines, only ever had one issue and it was dealt with quickly and professionally. Canadian Company and Great Engine Builders!

Got a engine from these guys made it 1 km down the road and it seized.tow back to shop. Found oil full of metal. Contacted dfc.right away felt like they were pointing the finger. So we removed the engine and sent it back.got a email back saying there is nothing wrong with the engine and suspect fuel problem for why It would not start.so after many phone calls and no phone calls back turns out they did not completely disassemble the engine and the cam gear spun on the cam and the valves hit the pistons. Tried to get our money back cause now it’s hard to trust someone that says they have a engine completely apart and can’t see that. They would not refund money but did warranty the engine I completed the job about 3 months ago and still have not go paid.terrible to deal with.very short on the phone. I know I probably don’t sound the happiest on the phone but with service like that it’s hard to be hopefully I get paid one day #epicfail

Engine failed right out of the box. Then i was told to send back and they will see if it is warranty. I would have to pay for shipping and if nothing wrong was found i would have to buy engine again. WTF. Truck never backed out of shop. Never again.

As a shop manager we're no longer using you product. We've had a 6.6 engine brake a crank.that took 8 months to get warrantied. We also had another 6.6 out of the box knocking. We called and told y'all about it y'all mentioned it was fine, and if we wanted it checked we would have to pay for it. Customer ended up selling truck Lastly we have had 2 (6.4 engine) fail for cracked pistons. One truck is fully stock and the other truck with mild tuning. Worst idea ever to use your product, all it has done is cost our shop money out of pocket.

I purchased an LLY Duramax tow haul HD engine from DFC Diesel in 2018. When I had it installed it had an issue requiring it to be sent back to DFC. As disheartening as this was, Crystal and Kyle at DFC kept me well informed of the process in warranting the issue as well as the progress. They felt bad that there was an issue with one of their engines and rectified the problem as quick as they could. The engine now seems to run just fine and I am happy with is thus far.

Received my engine a day ahead of schedule. All the staff were very helpful and even made arrangements for delivery. Thanks DFC!

Terrible customer service more than happy to take your order/money. I have been waiting for their warranty department to call back for close to a month, had to order motor due to truck sitting at mechanics shop for about a month without all questions answered at least they sell engines with arp head studs installed and warranty with aftermarket mods from what I am told.

I had purchased a vehicle second hand that had a DFC engine installed in it three years prior. After I bought the truck I realized the engine had a odd issue where a tappet had broke. I contact DFC and they looked after me 100% giving me a complete new replacement engine even though I was not the original purchaser. Kyle & Crystal were great to deal with and had me a replacement engine rebuilt in a reasonable amount of time and even took the time to paint it a specific color that I wanted. When I picked the replacement engine up Kyle took the time to give me a tour of the shop, extremely organized and well thought out layout to be as efficient as possible. If I ever need another diesel in the future I will definitely be calling them. Thanks for looking after me!

The cleanest and most professional crate engines out there. DFC Diesel engines are the only engines we move through our shop.
