We (family of 4 with two toddlers) came for a weekend to celebrate our friend's toddler's birthday.

The campsite is beautiful with trees, the river nearby, close to Barney's park. Great location.

Unfortunately, our interaction with staff was very rude and condescending. If you read the low-rating reviews you will see this is a common trend - this is not an isolated event!

Staff approach could definitely be better instead of yelling, swearing and making demands that we pack up immediately in the middle of night. They also did this to another group and in my opinion were the ones creating a disturbance. This was also noted by our friends who were camping near the other group.

I understand there are rules. I'm not against them. However, we were just having normal conversation around a fire. Uh oh.we actually maybe were laughing at times too. I would understand if we were yelling and causing a ruckus but we were quite literally just having conversation around the fire.

I would not recommend this campground due solely to the staff that we interacted with. I wish I would of read the reviews first because we would have booked elsewhere so if you have come across this, please take it into consideration when booking.

Edit to respond to owner's reply which was the following:
"Um, sorry my friend, you were very drunk and needed to go back to your cabin. Do I need to post the body cam video?

Please enjoy camping elsewhere. "

Well you can post the footage but it is not me as I was not drinking, nor was I staying in a cabin. However, I am sure it would show your unwarranted rude behaviour towards your guests.

I will enjoy camping elsewhere, and reader - I hope you do too.

Disappointing! As many other reviews have said, this campground is high on issues and low on fun and friendliness. Staff seem unapproachable and annoyed. If they don’t like people, maybe they shouldn’t work at a campground.
The excessive number of rules and severe enforcement make it easy to get into trouble. They should really reconsider the 1 vehicle per site rule, as many people travel with two vehicles and often need to shift gear and organize vehicles for day trips, especially with kids!
Unfortunately we will not be back.

Edit; in reply to the managers response. Of the multiple people we had on our site, two were registered adults to our site who met us there, and the other person was a guest of the park with their own campsite, visiting for supper.

Staff need customer service orientation. Darcy came to our site and spoke to us like kindergartens. He was notably angry and upset. We put up a costco hammok between 2 trees, not knowing it can spread a tree disease named "canker" according to teacher Darcy. He yelled at us in a inappropriate manner and walked away.
We also inquired about purchasing their tubing expedition, but soon as they told us Darcy was our guide/driver, we definitely declined. All in all, it's a spectacular spot for RV'rs, well maintained, and absolutely loved that we could access the river. I did struggle to write a review with names, but after reading all their reviews, most, if not all, negitive reviews are customer relations. Darcys' name mentioned many x's.
The front desk older ladies could also use a customer service orientation. They were not very welcoming.
So, if you wish to enjoy your stay, look out for the young blonde at the desk. She was the one and only staff member that was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Avoid Darcy.

Took my first review down as felt maybe my emotions were out given my mother passing but here we are 4 months later and I still feel sick in regards to my treatment here. Drumheller is a family favorite spot as was this campground until they got new management. I was constantly harassed by the male owner to the point I broke down in tears asking him to leave me the f alone. At this point cops were called and we waited to show them we were not drunk or high like he alleged, I can go into detail but rather notice if you read the other reviews and this man's response you will get a clear picture of this man and hopefully know to steer clear.

It is my first time at this campground. It is beautiful -trees, large lots, spacious, many amenities. It has alot of rules but that is a good thing on weekends it would be full. We moved to a 30 amp site but paid for a 50 amp and I did not think anything about it as it seemed in our best interest, but they refunded the difference to my credit card.

The location in the badlands is pretty good. Having a pool is nice. The store is nice and it's nice to have serviced campsites. It's close to the river, which is also nice. The campsites are all very close together with very little in between and it's relatively expensive. After camping 3 nights with friends, we asked if we could park in the guest lot for an hour while we visited with friends who were still camping. They said we had to pay $6/hr or $20/day (campground was empty on a Monday). We decided not to, and went to pick up our son from our friend's campsite. We briefly parked beside their campsite and the golf cart came by to tell us we couldn't do that, and that we had 5 minutes to leave. I left with a sour note because it seemed they were trying to extract every dollar they could, rather than make minor, no cost concessions.

Pretty expensive for not having a free shower. Paid $167 for 2 nights plus need to pay extra for the shower.
The ladies at the office were nice but their manager very rude and not welcoming person. They have swimming pool but it opens at 1I booked for our family and 2 others. Everyone were disappointed. Too expensive to pay just for a good location.
Would not recommend it. Also first time in my life I needed to pay extra $20 to reserve the site that I chose. The campground was almost empty by the way.

Beautiful location & it is very clean. But very strict to people who are even obeying the rules. Seems like they don't know how to manage groups, so rather than working with them - they just try and shut them down. Disappointed with the amenities, it seems like they have all kinds of amenities, but everything is an extra charge.

My wife left an excellent review about the lovely park but that same day when I went to ask for wifi I had to pay which was totally ok but apparently that wifi purchase is for one device. Why they did not tell me? I had to walk all the way back to the office again and unfortunately I am waiting for hip surgery so all this walking is very difficult. I am ok with these extra charges but they should had told me it only works on one device …that’s all. When I went back a lady Dana was very annoyed that I asked about the extra wifi codes and why they just didn’t tell me, she said ‘ I should know better ‘? I don’t know better as in my many years of camping it is paid for and you get the wifi password when you check in. But I told her I was not complaining about the extra charges, it was the communication. She obviously has frustrations on this concept and took it out on me. When I confronted her about her inappropriate behaviour towards me as I paid and was leaving she told me to go F…. Myself. I was appalled and completely thrown off by this direction. I was not even a difficult customer? She further said she did not care if I complained and they fired her because she was done for the season. Wow I really did not see that coming. As a business owner I would hope the owners have a better understanding and prediction of their employees behaviours. This can’t be her first incident.

Camped here on a canoe trip. It was great to have the staff help us bring our gear from the canoes to campsite using the golf carts. There are a lot of amenities which is great especially when on a canoe trip. We stayed in a group site close to the road and it was not very great. There is no grass and poky weeds everywhere. It is also right next to the dog park so not a great location.
Also as many have mentioned in their reviews, there are lots of strict rules at this campground which makes you feel like you don’t have a lot of freedom, and while rules are good, it’s hard to have any fun or relax when you always have to be worried you are breaking a rule.

The biggest thing during our stay here was that there is music that plays on the pool stereo, and the music was left on ALL NIGHT LONG. Most of our group had a terrible sleep because of it. Even if it was an accident, it was very unprofessional, especially because it specifically says in their rules that loud music will not be tolerated.

This place could be amazing. COULD BE! The owners are a nightmare. No smiles and rude rude rude. The staff is the same. No smiles at all. There are signs EVERYWHERE telling you "do not do this" "do not do that". It's very pathetic.

The bathrooms were closed so people had to use NASTY porta potty and then the closed those down! Leaving tenting people having to walk a ridiculous distance to go to the bathroom.

Our dog leash slipped out of our hands for a second but of cause the owner was right there when it happened and she literally followed me and yelled at me. ON HER GOLF CART. Just tracking me for the rest of our walk.

Oh and the "free" wifi. You get 60minutes then you need to pay for it. And it works maybe half the time if your lucky!

We were very quite, we don't drink, we don't do anything that would be cause for concern. Our dog doesn't bark. We are very polite and people pleasing but yet we were watched like a hawk.

I highly suggest finding somewhere else to camp. $100 a night is just insane for this place!

Pool only open 1-7 not long enough hours. We will just stay in town next time. Close to a pool.

All around, it's a pretty good camp site. Larger than usual lots. Full service hookups and a swimming pool are great for the kids. The only downside side, which was quite important to me and many other campers, is the fire ban put in place after the first day of the 4 night stay.there was no fire ban in the drumhellar area.just the camp group.robbed my kids of the traditional weenie roast and snores they anticipated so much.so pretty upset about that

This campground with your kids has the potential to be awesome, but the rules are bonkers and the new owners are working to fix up the place.

We had camped here before and had a hoot. During our last trip we noticed that the vibe was way off and there were a large number of sites vacant. Staff is rude and condescending leading everyone to conclude the place sucks. Pool is not covered at night so it is brutally cold, go to the Aquaplex in town for a comfortable swim. WIFI is $4.20 per device and somewhat spotty. No atmosphere at the “resort” and not worth coming back, plenty of other friendly sites available in the valley. The snarky responses to poor reviews is a prime example of staff’s negative demeanour.

Loved our time at Dinosaur Trail! Owner was super engaged and talking with people throughout the time we were there. Store was well stocked and tons for the kids to do, they would go on adventures around the park or check out the playgrounds. Pool was perfect for hot afternoons and close to a few attractions. If you have a trailer on the way out take it slow as the highway has a few big bumps when you're getting close to the park but the park itself was great! Will definitely be back.

We had a great time in this campground. It was our first time here. If you can afford it, I'd say give it a try. We had a good experience here and we recommend it.
It is a big campground but well maintained, clean and organized throughout. It was very hot when we were there as expected but was surprised by the wind so come prepared.
We find management and staff was very friendly and pleasant. Lots of very nice and friendly campers as well. Shout out to the lovely lady at the office who attended to my niece's biking mishap. Thank you for your kindness.
If you like trees, then pick the main and lower loops. The upper loops are mostly no trees with some highway noise (didn't bother us) but are smaller so less chaotic which I prefer.
One wish though, I hope they would extend the pool hours.
Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant stay at Dinosaur Trail even with the stormy weather we had. We would definitely consider going again. Happy camping!

The campground itself is subpar. Their cancellation policy is 30 days, which is a huge amount of time. Seems like a total cash grab. Will never be coming to this place again, not worth the price at all.

We had mixed emotions on arrival due to the many negative reviews both on here and on Facebook groups but we just left Dinosaur Trails RVResort and we enjoyed it. We checked in Tuesday and left this morning. We found everyone that worked there pleasant and happy. No one was rude to us or the people we came with. Although we were up at the upper levels not the Main part of the campground. My husband had 1 issue and that was when he took the kids to the pool and had his stainless steel water jug and they stopped him and just told him next time it needs to be in a clear container they were nice and polite about it. We saw the cart in our loop once checking the empty sites for garbage and whatnot and that’s it. The only other negative is the roads need to be repaved, there’s potholes everywhere. Overall we had a good time there and would probably go again.

A beautiful place to camp. The New campground Managers are awesome. They are very friendly and very helpful. We are also quite impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff were. A very enjoyable 14 days. We will be back again in a month.

Do not waste your money here. Go find somewhere that has kind staff and less micro aggressive ways of dealing with things.
