Discovery Wildlife Park & Campground

Went to their light the night Christmas lights. It’s so cute I’ve been twice this month. Such a cute way of supporting the animals.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas lights display throughout the property. The mini donuts at the end were delicious.

What a great place this is!
Great staff.grizzly bears, black bears, Kodiak bears, wolves, camels, turtles, lions!
Everything was impeccably managed…

Very clean and well maintained. But was disturbed to see the lack of activities for the animals on there enclosures. Nothing to stimulate there brain and physical activity. The monkeys had no ropes or tires to swing on. Small. And in bad weather, such a very small spot to hide in.
Cougars pacing in small enclosures as well. Disturbing to see the lack of activities for these animals.
I must say, prestine in cleanliness. Grounds for kids to play in, superb. But, great empathy for the animals who have no healthy activity.

We enjoyed the park but wondered if some of the big cat enclosures could have been more spacious. It was fun to be able to buy food for and feed some of the animals. They are doing a good job of training some of the animals and involving them in research.

This is a beautiful campground wirh nice sites.

FINALLY! Someone got the right idea! Come see the zoo/wildlife reserve and spend a night or two. Fall asleep with. WITH the animals. A SAFE place for the whole family to see and learn (something you rarely get at a conventional zoo) from people who have a Passion for the welfare of these animals. If you even Think that you're a wildlife lover then this is a MUST See!

Well maintained beautiful park. Large walking paths and can see all animals easy. Golf carts available so seniors and people with disabilities can enjoy. Will go again.

We had a great time exploring the park. Quite nice layout and very walkable. Our visit lasted about 3 hours and we felt that we had seen everything in the park.

We had a very enjoyable day! We watched both the bears & lions expeditions! It was also great they had golf carts to ride my elderly parents around in, which made it even more pleasant for them! Great for all ages!

Our visit to Discovery Wildlife Park was much more enjoyable than expected. The facilities are amazing and so well maintained. The staff were very well trained, and customer service was outstanding. It was an exceptional value and such a fantastic learning experience. Everyone needs to go there at least once, but I dare you to try to go just once. You'll return in no time to take it all in again!

If you believe the dust from the gravel road will make the animals sick, then pave the road or remind people before they are entering the main gate. Never seen a speed limit of 10 k/hour in Canada or Sates in my whole life. I have never been this place before. I inadvertently exceeded the speed limit on the gravel road (drove about 20 km/hour). Yeah, my bad. However, no need to be so mad and rude to us. The old man was yelling at me in front of my five years old, despite having already apologized multiple times. Can we just have a private communication to address the matter more respectfully rather than being publicly scolded especially in front of my kids. Like I just killed your animals. What’s the big deal! He really ruined our night here. We are your customers, not hunters.

This campground is a great place to stay. Everything is very clean and organized. The cabins are small but are comfortable and have electricity. I had a fantastic time here. The only thing I’d like to complain about is the fact that some of the cabins are near a train track and that there is no dishwashing station. But a very enjoyable experience.

We just missed the bear show but still got to see them playing in their enclosures. It was very hot, no shade so prepare for that. Used a golf cart to get around and that was great for the people with mobility issues. So many neat animals to see. Will be back.

We absolutely loved our visit to the Discovery Wildlife Park.
My mother in law is visiting from Wales and we wanted to take her to experience this park as we haven't been ourselves.
What a fantastic time we had. We rented a golf cart and we meandered through the pathways and stopped to check out the wildlife. Very interesting labels to explain what each animal is and where they are from.
We saw that picnic tables were spread out sporadically through out the park to have a picnic. There were also areas for children to play on.
The grounds were kept clean and grasses trimmed.
A little expensive but fun nonetheless.

Lovely visit with the kids. The battery operated vehicles for seniors made sure that the grandparents enjoyed the trip as well! Will definitely be back again.

We had been to this park many years ago when our daughter was young, so decided to take out of town family with children there and see how things had progressed. Wow, wow, wow! Everything was done to a professional standard and we were impressed! The prices were affordable for a larger group, the staff was welcoming and informative, the picnic areas and shelters were plentiful for those who wanted to bring their own lunch and the play areas were so well thought out and put together, I can't say enough about them. We got to see the bear demonstrations and as our guests live in "bear country", they were happy to get the information that was passed along during them. It would be easy to spend all day at the Discovery Park, but the 3 - 4 hours we spent, was plenty to see all of the animals and was the perfect amount of time for our one and three year olds. I would highly recommend this "adventure".

Recommended for kids. Carry enough water / kids wagon & you need to walk like in zoo.

Just got back to Calgary from a visit to Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail, about a 1-hour drive. After visiting all the beautiful animals (including lions, camels, cougars, elk, bears, wolves, ostriches, porcupines, and so many more), we learned that the animals there tend to be rescues from such situations as orphans, confiscation, and zoo breeding programs. I now understand that such parks give these beautiful animals a place to live their lives in a safe place where they're nourished and otherwise well-cared for. Thanks so much to owners and staff for providing and caring for such a facility. One more small note: before visiting, I had mistakenly thought that we would be able to drive our car through the park. When we arrived, we were told that the walking route was about 1 km. We were with my 83 year-old mother, and I'd forgotten to bring the wheelchair. Fortunately, there were golf carts available for rent (show driver's licence & credit card) for a reasonable fee. So we did that, and a wheelchair would probably not have helped anyway as the paths are gravel. We'll be visiting again soon, on a season's pass next time!

The animals are extremely well cared for. Staff is friendly. Support them to help those animals contribute to live comfortably

So much better than calgary zoo. Less traffic, you get to be so close to animals, multiple play areas for kids, picnic tables everywhere to sit and have snack. Had a great time our kids loved it!

Great place to go with kids! They love animals, different play areas and playgrounds. Animals look healthy and happy.

Exceptional wild life park. Both my girls had a lot of fun especially in those unique play structures made from recycled materials all over the park as shown in images. I have attached the videos of few shows and boy the staff are good at that with lively vibe. Kids get to see all those animals from very close proximity with top safety. Ample parking, playground, washroom, sheltered and unsheltered picnic benches. Its quite spacious though, lots of walking, so for your little one bring stroller, food, water, sunscream etc. Over all highly recommended. Check out videos and images and Follow for more.
