Distress Centre Calgary

My associate's intake specialist was Diana Bosman; this person will call you but will not answer, when you answer "hello". She will never book appointment with your client.

Worst service ever recommend; regret being involving with this organization.

I waited for 1 hour 26 minutes and nobody picked up. I tried the chat and it said the "organization does not serve my area" even though I live in Calgary, entered my details right, and this website is CALGARY DISTRESS CENTER! I clicked the alternate list and it looped me back to the phone number I already tried and also saying "it does not serve my area". What in the F does this site even do? I was so excited to get help and now I'm waiting I emergency in the psych ward to get help. I was so excited for an alternate route for help and this was such a let down and further compounded my already spiralling degraded mental health. This sucks. Don't count on it, I can't understand any positive reviews. Guess they are the lucky ones

The person who answered has obviously received no training and seemed more confused than I was about mental health support. They just softly asked what services I wanted, and, as I don't know, I couldn't tell her. She had no response to that or a single question for me. Not a great resource if you can't give any information or even ask a question. I would instead call health link or, if it's an emergency, 911. They're trained, paid, and there to help you. The distress center seems to just reroute 911 calls to keep the load off of dispatchers. It's call screening more than mental health distress services.

The Calgary Distress Center is a great community resource for mental health issues.

They have trained volunteers who will listen, give advice, and/or talk you through any issues going on in your life.

I find that sometimes, there is a bit long of a wait to get connected to someone. A couple of times, I couldn't get through at all.

But, in general, for a free mental health service accessible to anyone in need, The Distress Center is a great place for support in time of.well, distress!

Terrible human beings! Zero capability of being compassionate and/or understanding. You're better off dealing with your problems alone then turning to those untrained "volunteers"

My heart goes out to everyone that calls the Distress Centre. I called them for a crisis situation and they referred me to call 211.211 is a general information line for everything under the sun.

"Distress Centre Calgary". I live right near Chinook Centre. How do you not serve my area?

They seemed to be closed because of the pandemic which to me is not acceptable as they should have people to man the phone lines and provide services 24/7

Was in clear distress and woman told me to calm down and that to not interrupt her cause that rude. I was call as my last resort. She made me feel unwelcome and unheard. Had better luck at the hospital
