Diva Salon and Spa - Chinook

I visited the salon on Wednesday, January 10. Shout out to ADAM, who gave me a beautiful blonde Color, highlights and lowlights. This was my first visit to the salon and to ADAM. I travel in my work and consequently have my hair done across the country, usually with a stylist that is new to me. ADAM took great care in making my experience a most positive one. My hair is beautiful, healthy, and quite magnificent! Thank you ADAM for your time and expertise. I will be back to see you again! All the best, Lisa MacDougall

I had a colour refresh today with Emmaline and I am so so happy with how it turned out! The colour is soft, blended, and is the perfect tone of dimensional blonde. I felt like a total princess walking out Cherrie was also very friendly, definitely a 10/10 experience from me!

I have been coming to this salon for a while now and I will continue to come to it. Cherrie is a fantastic hairdresser and I highly recommend her. She is very good at what she does

I can’t believe this salon! I would not recommend anyone come here. I called to book a highlight apt and the receptionist let me know the different levels of stylists and their fees. I booked with Cheri who is a senior stylist. I was told she is $80/hr for her services. I made the appointment and not 5 minutes later the receptionist called me back asking for a $100 deposit. This is a first to be asked this at any salon. The lady on the phone let me know I could buy a gift card on their website so I let her know next week on my payday I would go ahead and buy one.

Friday comes and I purchase the gift card and call them to let them know. The receptionist asked for the gift card number which I did not have as the confirmation email did not provide one. After she spoke to her manager she let me know I would receive another email In a couple days and to call back when I get it. Okay!
On sunday Diva calls me and says they are canceling the appointment because they don’t have a deposit! What? ! I was shocked! This is not how you treat a customer. I told the receptionist that I have the gift card deposit but waiting on the card number. I let her know maybe it will come on Monday as it is the weekend. I also let her know that it was extremely rude to operate this way and treat customers like this and they need better communication between their staff. I told her that I would like to keep my appointment as I’ve already paid $100 for it. I will call as soon as I receive the number. I sent them the confirmation email to hold my appointment in the meantime. This is all a red flag that I should have noticed but gave the benefit of the doubt.
Monday I gave them the card number as soon as I got the email.
Saturday (today) is my appointment day…. I let Cheri know I would like highlights and no cut. I asked for a partial highlight. Cheri comes back and gives me this paper asking me to sign to agree to pay $475 for a PARTIAL HIGHLIGHT! I gasped and told her that is not what I was told when I booked. I can’t afford that. Nobody should be paying $475 for root touch up partial highlights! This is more than I’ve ever paid for my hair even for full highlights and a hair cut! I’m completely beside myself right now that Cheri even thinks this is ok? I asked her if there was anything we could do to bring the cost down and she said “how much can you afford”? I told her $300 max which is about what I normally pay. So Cheri then proceeds to tell me that for $300 she will only do bare minimum foils - 1 strip on the top of my head and a couple on the sides. You’ve got to be kidding me? Wow…. At this point I told her no and that I will be seeing my regular stylist. Unfortunately I won’t be saving any money and I’m out $100 on a diva gift card that I can’t even get a refund for as it states in the email I got. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life.

I came to this location to save some money as I am on maternity leave. I learned my lesson. Just go where you’re happy. Don’t stray. Stay with your stylist that you love and save up and plan accordingly to have what you want.

Adam has made my hair look incredible! I had let it go grey over Covid and he has transformed me back to the beautiful blonde that I love. Highly recommend for colour or cut! Thanks Adam!

The best salon and spa in the city hands down! Local family owned establishment and it shows! They take a lot of pride in their work.

The service of the hairstylist was very good, Mack took well care of my mother, she was very friendly, happy and well experienced. The reception service, on the other hand, was awful. The girl was very unhappy and cold. Sad to have to experience the reception service next time.

Diva Chinook is my go to place for all things hair and aesthetics. I have been seeing Stephanie for derma-planing and hydrafacials and she has managed to give me the glowing skin I have been trying so hard to achieve. Stephanie is very knowledgeable in her field, friendly and just makes me feel at ease. My skin has also never looked better.

I have also been seeing Hala for my hair for years now. She has managed to take me from dark to blonde and back to dark while maintaining the integrity of my hair. I just leave my hair in her hands and know I am going to love it every time.

Megan is the absolute best stylist I have ever met. She is so talented at what she does, her highlights are absolutely beautiful and well placed.

She is also the most fun, kind and great person to be around. She keeps you laughing, and feeling comfortable, even when I am super awkward!

She is also a ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and is a safe space to be your self.

Hala has done my hair for years. I typically get root touch ups, color changes and hair extensions with cuts in between.

Hala understands my hair completely (fine, only grows to shoulder length) and she always makes it look amazing!

Hala is an expert is hair care, cuts, colors, extensions.

Go see her you will be glad you did!

Came here for a simple wash and style. Booked in with a “new talent” thinking they would be able to handle that. Was extremely disappointed. I get a dry scalp and the hair dresser used her fingers and made gentle circular motions on my scalp and didn’t get in around my ears at all. I was left with a flaky scalp. She also did not use heat protector on my hair before straightening it. I’ve had my hair done before and have taken a couple hair dressing classes in high school so I know the motions that are supposed to be used when washing a clients hair and this was not it. Will not be returning ever

Very disappointed with customer service. When we booked kids haircut they told us its $30 but they charged us $42. Also we’ve got a referral coupon ($20 off for next service) and they told they us we can use with kids cut but when we came they said it’s for adult only.

Cherrie Is AMAZING! She fit me in last min for a cut and colour even giving me hair treatment as I desperately needed help! My hair was green and severely dead, she even got me to my dream colour making me a light blonde I couldn’t have ask for better service I highly recommend!

Haircut by Cherrie- didn’t really listen to me at all. The haircut felt super rushed and I was left with hair I hated. After the cut she asked me to leave a review and then hovered, so I felt pressured to give five stars so she wouldn’t see that I wasn’t happy with my hair. I hate the way my hair looks now - I went from having beautiful long hair that made me confident to feeling insecure all the time. Not looking forward to growing my hair back for a year to feel confident again. I recommend making sure your stylist will listen and take the time needed to give you what you want, or at the very least not completely disregard what you say.

I totally recommend Cherrie at Diva Chinook. I go to get my hair coloured and I am happy every time. Excellent service and results, excellent care.

She did an amazing job curling my hair and was very attentive to match her mood to my very tired self - engaging when I did but respecting my silence when I needed it. Cherrie gave me another really wonderful haircut. I was a little late to my appointment but she was incredibly gracious and always gives me the best advice for my hair. Since I’ve started having my hair done by her it’s so much healthier! 10/10 recommend:)

The Men's Haircut from Anna was amazing. She was a wealth of knowledge on how to handle my hair and how to care for it that I haven't receive from any barber in my 20+ years.

I shared with Anna about my goals to go for a body wave style curl with a perm and she was honest in telling me I'm not there yet. Though she was able to set me up for success and give me a cut now that will get me closer to my goal 2-3 months from now for my next visit. Definitely coming back and asking for Anna!

Genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had getting my haircut. It was obvious the stylist had no clue what she was doing. I showed a reference photo that was more than doable with the length of my hair, asking for long layers. I was given what is quite possibly one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever seen a “professional” do. My hair is uneven, choppy and quite literally 2 different lengths. There are no layers, I have one layer of hair above my ears and another that touches my shoulders. There is no in between and styling is impossible. It’s so bad other salons have refused to touch it as there is nothing that can be done to fix it. When expressing my concern over this $90 haircut in an email I was given absolutely no solutions and was eventually ghosted, I’ve since emailed them twice and have received absolutely no response. This salon is horribly unprofessional and their stylist have no clue what they're doing. Do not get your hair cut here.

Hala is such a pro! I’ve bounced around looking for a good stylist who can do new hair colours every few months, and that is a tough find. Hala is an expert on blondes but she’s also got an amazing eye for colour. She does an amazing job of stripping out old colour, lightening my hair without damaging it AND she also kills it mixing up tones that suit my complexion regardless of what colour I’m rocking. The service here is impeccable and I’m always happy when I leave.

Cherrie did such an amazing job with my hair! I asked for a fairly intense cut and color and she made it look better than I could’ve hoped!

Cherrie at Chinook Diva was wonderful to work with and did a fantastic job at cutting my hair. She listened to what I like and did magic. I would absolutely visit her again!

Walked in without an appointment and Cherrie was able to take me right away. My hair was a proper example of damage and dryness from box dyes and working outside in winter winds. Had to give up 3”, but Cherrie knew how to give my very straight hair nice texture and loose layers to maintain as much length as possible. She was lovely and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to our follow up appointment to do some colour corrections!

I was super nervous for my hair coloring treatment but trust me best decision i have made today visiting Diva salon. Without Cherrie, it wasn’t possible. She is so polite and professional. I loved her. She explained me the whole process with such an professional way also helped me for picking the right color for my hair. Thank you cherrie for doing such an amazing job. I’ll be visiting you again for sure. Again couldn’t been possible without you cherrie ️️️

My old stylist changed salons so I tried a new stylist today, Cherrie. Cherrie was so nice and she did an amazing job with my hair I love everything about it the cut, the colour and the style. I would totally recommend Cherrie!

Was awful experience the lady working the front desk refused me service after I asked if I could buy some product and a mask due to my moms breaking before we got in and has a bad knee. She called security calling me a dirty native. I am going to be calling corporate. This is messed up and ruined my day. Terrible service whoever is managing needs to be fired due to them have zero lack of customer care.

Absolutely loved the service here! I will never go to another salon now that I have been here. Cassandra was amazing, she took her time, listenedto how I wanted my hair and didn't try to go shorter and she was super friendlyand gave helpful tips. I couldn't be more happy with my hair!

Wendy did such an amazing job! My hair looked incredible.have very long hair and it took much longer than expected, was the last appointment of the day at 5pm after what I could only imagine was a long day. She didn't rush me out the door as fast as she could, she stayed 20 minutes after closing @ 7pm so my hair was styled and looked amazing.

I don't know where to begin with my experience. It started off good, my grandma and I both wanted our hair done before family photos, walked in to see if we could book later in the week but was told they had space for us both that morning. Her right at open and me an hour later, I asked how much it would be to get my hair dyed and was told $1xx so I decided to get a color as well. Booked in - came back an hour later.

Well it's a good thing they have there little wavier (something nowhere else made me sign ever) because I have a nasty burn on the back of my neck. During my wash he was SUPER aggressive, didn't use any detangler at all and pulled my hair alot, I have never been in so much pain during a dye and he knowing called it torture? ! In the end the hair looked alright, wasn't totally what I was after (I wanted to go from my natural blonde with lighter ends to one unified warmer blonde). My grandma and I were done at the same time (even though she started an hour earlier & got the same type of dye job)
Then we went to pay, my grandma (who also didn't get her hair aggressively ripped out) got the expected bill we were quoted at the start. Mine was almost $400? !? !
She went grey - grey I went blonde to a darker blonde? When I asked reception what the difference was she laughed and said "well he's an upper stylest so charges a little more" it would have been nice to know that before hand, and for an "upper stylest" I definitely wasn't impressed.

A word of caution to those booking facials with Diva that the treatment isn't as long as the time listed on their website. I received a facial from Diva Chinook that was advertised as a 90-minute treatment online, but I was in and out in less than 75 minutes. When I mentioned this to the ladies at the front desk, they said they book treatments for 90 minutes to leave time for cleaning, but that the treatment itself is 60-75 minutes. I was a bit disappointed in how this was advertised and feel like I overpaid.

This was my first time with Ali, for my haircut, and he did a fabulous job. I am really happy with his work & patience. He listened to all my needs & worries with my hair and made sure I was given the solution. I have moved to Canada a year ago and I am really picky with my hair, after 10 months of wait, I decided to get my hair cut from Ali, and I must say, I am really glad that I found my goto person in Canada.
If someone would want an hair and is confused as to whom to get it from, I suggest you try Ali. I am sure you will not be disappointed!

Weather it be a big name place. (most in my opinion are way too *SNOBBY*) or the smaller locals. Cassandra was AWESOME to talk to and she actually *LISTENED* to me!

The service was awesome. I got a complimentary hand scrub during my haircut which was nice. Mike was great and very friendly. The place was clean, quiet and relaxing.

I have been going to Diva for around 8 years and have been seeing the same stylist for that entire time, as you can imagine when you see a person that long you become friends as I did with my stylist. We have gone to concerts together, This person was supportive when my mom passed away and we keep up to date in each others lives. I was suppose to have an appointment this week and I received a call saying that my stylist was no longer there. Naturally I ask if she’s ok and I was told that she’s taking a leave as her father is very ill. So here is my issue you can probably look through my file and how long I have been a client and maybe think “this is more than a client it’s a friend they probably have each others number” so yes I contacted my stylist/friend to offer my help and condolences and guess what the whole story is completely not true. Second the last few times I have been there the place has lost its positive atmosphere and looks slightly run down and if a company is going to flat out lie about a employee’s family members health what else are they being completely dishonest about.
I am disgusted by the company, I will never step foot or spend another dime in there again!

I’ve literally never had a bad experience at this salon and I finally think I’ve found my keeper (stylist)

Ali Rocksteady is a god with hair and made my hair today so so gorgeous and smooth and nice looking. I am beyond excited about how well it turned out and I will most definitely be booking with him exclusively from now on!

Ali Taleb worked his magic with my cut and color once again! Front desk gals were friendly and professional. Pricey but I'm worth it.

This review is quite late but was thinking of going here again to try a different stylist but there recent reviews and practices such as; $6 sanitization fees that they are passing onto client having definitely deterred me for giving it a go and It got me thinking about actual service I had received a while ago.

Had got a haircut and have to admit paid over $50 and it was absolutely nothing but average or below average. Not my recommendation for mens hair styling. I go to a similarly priced hair stylist in South and they have not changed their pricing or charging clients extra for doing some cleaning, hope the management takes notice and relook at the business model.

A couple days ago I got a lash lift and tint since then I have noticed a concerning amount of my eyelashes falling out and some of the remaining ones have become crooked and over-curled. I’ve gotten this service in the past and haven’t had any problem but this time was so not worth the 83$

Called them asking if they cut 2 year boys hair and cost. They said 1 year to 5 years boys haircut is $10. So made an appointment and took my boy to do his hair.
When paying they charged me $30! Told them that I called and they said, they gave an expert hair stylist instead of a student, that's why the price is high.one, I didn't ask for it and two, who gets an expert hairstylist to do a 2 year old boys hair?

Went there yesterday to wax my eyebrows. When paying noticed they charged me $6 for Covid-19 sanitization fee. I did wax, not sure what sanitization! Then they said all customers are charged $6 for any services. Well, they are lucky government let them open their store and they should pay sanitization fees, not me.

Every time I go to this place and I find so many hidden fees in this store. Like they charged me a $6 sanitization fee for Covid-19. Why the customers getting charged for sanitization fees? I brought my own masks and gloves!

Beware, they have so may hidden fees. Eyebrow wax costs $15 as per their menu but I walked out yesterday paying $30 because they used more experienced stylist and also charged me a god damn sanitization fees for $6. Comon.

I came here after a lot of debate as I have long hair which hadn’t had a proper hair cut in 6 years, so I was terrified of getting it cut.
I was lucky enough to see Michelle, who then spoke with me about what my needs/concerns with my hair were, and cut it accordingly. I couldn’t be more happy, not just with the cut, but with Michelle as a person too. Thank you!

No one is allowed to touch my hair other the Hala.
She’s super patient with me! I’m super fussy when it comes to my hair and she never disappointed me.

Hala is the girl you want to see if you want
1) good results
2) save time
3) look sexy

Diva prices are also very Reasonable just in case anyone is wondering.

I gave three stars for Chinook location really has nothing to do with my hair stylist today. Toyin is fantastic, and I really like her! She treated me with a warm and considerable heart! Thank you Toyin!

This was not the first time I came to Chinook location and certainly not the first time to Diva salon. However, comparing the reception service I received at Seton, I probably will not come back to Chinook because of the poor receptionist’s customer service I received toady.

I clearly heard that Toyin told the reception they should only charge me for around 10 dollars for the small fix about my hair, but the reception decided they should charge me 40 dollars for the fix. Really? ! I understand it’s business, and nothing should be free. But for the fix you were going to charge me it’s money grabbing and it’s not reasonable! So I denied to pay the charge and question the reception back in a polite way. Luckily enough, she decided to charge me 21 dollars. I was still not happy about that because my expectation should really be around 10 as it was truly a minor cut. Anyway, I accepted this without further arguing as least she tried, and I should give a credit on this.

For the past few visits at Chinook, I had no problem with the hair stylist I met. However, I really don’t like the reception services I got. Some visits, I was even “ignored” coz the girls are busy with their talking.

Sorry Toyin, I might be debating to come back to Chinook location if the reception services was not improved. I recommend you go to Seton location as your team will be more supported!

I never leave reviews, but I feel I need to after my experience at Diva. I received a very low quality haircut at this salon. I came for a trim, and received an uneven cut. The hairdresser didn’t know how to cut around the face, so I have a short chunk of hair hanging on one side, and long on the other.
She washed, dried, and straightened my hair, then cut it. She never asked me how I want to have my hair styled and in the end she didn’t have time to style it. She passed me to her coworker who was very nice but did mediocre job, and kept pulling my hair. Wouldn’t go back, and don’t recommend.

I am so disappointed with my experience in Diva Salon. My friend and I went went there earlier to have our lashes done (Lash Lift). At the end of the service, we didn’t achieve the outcome we were expecting due to the “new” products they used. Our lashes didn’t lift at all, their products didn’t work. They should’ve tested the products first before using it to their customers. Our time was wasted for nothing and they even charged us for it. In fact, what we really came for was the lash lift, not the tinting. What a shame. It's my first and might as well my last time of coming to this salon. I hope this wouldn’t happen to their future customers.

Had the extreme pleasure of a full service hair appointment with Adam who is fresh talent at Diva Salon Chinook (first official client). Not only does he exude pure pleasure in his 20+ career craft, but is continually learning new industry beauty secrets having trained in London, Dallas and L. A! Adam takes his time getting to know his clients & actually listens to your desires & completely fulfils & exceeds where sooo many other stylist have failed. If your done salon hopping in order to find that one true gem, seriously get yourself an appointment with him & get that healthy, lustrous, goddess hair that you deserve! Wonderful, wonderful! Thank you Adam! You know what a lady means when she says "make it sexy"!

I went to Diva yesterday to get my eyebrows threaded as well as a hair cut and styling. Diva is usually my salon of choice because I've yet to have a bad experience with them until now, and the girls who work there are all quite nice. But yesterday while getting my eyebrows threaded, the girl doing my eyebrows not only cut my skin once but TWICE. She informed me of the first cut she made below my eyebrow and I brushed it off and told her that it was okay. But then I get home and my boyfriend noticed another cut under my other eyebrow. I'm very frustrated because they usually do my eyebrows very well. I'm worried about the cuts potentially becoming scars.
I would give one star, but the haircut I received was very good and my hair definitely looks healthier.

Love coming here! Sandy has been doing my hair for over a year now and it's never looked better. Best hairdresser i've ever had!:)

I had a very bad experience at the Diva Chinook salon. Sarah left blotches of dark toner all over my hair and when a senior stylist told her it needed to be redone, she apologized but abandoned me to "new talent" so she could take her next client! My haircut was not completed. Agnes, the apparent manager of this location, made a bad situation worse when she demanded full payment. She then smirked when I said I hope my $100 was worth the bad review I would be giving. Their gm did contact me to tell me it was a "teaching moment" for her (okay Oprah!) and sorry about your hair but hey, I could have free colour services to fix my hair. No thank you.

IN LOVE with my new lashes done at the Diva Salon in Chinook by Jenny. She did an amazing job, they look perfect, nice and even.

I have never had lash extensions before, this was my first time. Jenny was really nice, she explained everything & answered all my questions including looking at the makeup & remover I brought to see if it would work with the lashes. I have sensitive skin and was a bit worried, but I feel no itch or irritation. During the treatment, there was no pinching or discomfort. My eyes were a bit twitchy, but she reassured me it was okay and they turned out better than I even expected.

When I left they gave me a gift, I am not sure if it was because it’s my birthday or my first visit - but they gave me 60$ in gift cards.

I am beyond happy my eyelash extensions. I definitely recommend & will return.
