Dogtopia of Downtown Calgary

I came to Dogtopia this morning, in a panic after having a horrible experience at a different doggy daycare facility that I had a booking at.
When I showed up for my reservation at the other doggy daycare facility, I was treated so poorly, and after being verbally, abused, I decided I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my pet.
So I drove to Dogtopia, and hoped that, even though I had never use them before And had no booking, but they would be able to help me.
I was greeted by the most amazing woman this morning Who is sympathetic and empathetic to My situation, who worked with me to find a solution. We worked together to get vaccine reports from my vets office, And she had genuine concern about making sure I made it to my class on time As my morning was not going according to plan.
When I went to pick up my dog, after a stressful morning, and a long day of class, I was greeted by an adorable report, card, cute photos of my dog, And very happy and tired puppy!
I will clearly not be returning to the other doggy daycare, that I originally booked with, and I have used for years, Because my experience was so horrible, But I am so glad that I have found a new amazing place that I can feel safe and happy Because the customer service goes above and beyond!
Even when we were leaving Woman outside, cleaning the windows, that I’ve never seen before, knew my dog By name, and said goodbye to my dog, this location goes above and beyond, And I am so grateful!

I'm have been going to dogtopia for grooming for my baby for a few years now
Today was the first time with the new groomer. Let's put it this way my bear does not look like what he looked like before. It has got to be the worse hair cut. He has a cut on his belly. She cut off his ear hair and, his tail hair which is never a sked her to. I asked for a trim and my baby doesn't even look like the same dog
. So disappointed

Great place for your puppy needs! Rufus came back smelling, feeling and looking amazing after his shampoo and nail trimming. Super friendly staff to help.

Don't expect your dog to be walked but let out in a courtyard. Then locked in kennels where they can be heard howling and crying all day long. If you love your animal don't bring it here.

Been using them for over a year now. My dog is always happy to go in (a good sign) and they seem to genuinely care about all the dogs. Very positive experience!

Rupert did not enjoy his grooming visit, but his Dad couldn't be happier with the results, price, and how Rupert was treated during his dramatic tantrum. I will be back.

I have been taking my dog Filson here faithfully for 2 years for grooming, daycare and boarding. He is always returned to me happy, healthy, and tired from all the fun.

The grooming is reasonable and Brandi does an amazing job.

Sam and Trinity (managers) always make sure he is scheduled in and I am charged correctly.

Never have I encountered a single issue in 2 years of consistent patronage which speaks to the level of care and attention put forth by staff.

They do great work. My dog also has quite a bit of separation anxiety and they are empathetic work with him so well compared to some of the other downtown groomers I have been to that just get angry about it.

My pup, Harper, and I LOOOOVE Dogtopia Downtown! We’ve been coming here for almost 2 years and they treat your doggies as if they’re their own. All my favourite pictures of her are from daycare and she always comes home exhausted from playing with her friends. The best part is, they have a live webcam so you can check in on your dogs anytime!

We’ve used Dogtopia in Calgary since they first opened. We appreciate the safe environment and pleasant, caring team at this location. Love the special event days and webcams. Thanks for taking such good care of our pups!

My only complaint is I think iggy would rather be at daycare instead of cuddling with me haha. He has had such a great week with his furry friends and each time we get in the car he thinks that’s where he’s going. Thanks Dogtopia for making it a little easier to work during the day; I sure miss him, but know he’s taken care of and having so much fun! We’ll be back on Saturday and iggy can’t wait!:)

Dogtopia of Downtown Calgary is 10/10 amazing. All of the staff at this location will go the extra mile for Marvel and he is treated like a king every time we visit. They celebrate his birthday every year, send me pictures of him when he's at daycare and will always message me when he's BFF Thomas is at daycare. Tiny Tuesday's are amazing because he can play with dogs his own size all day long. We also use this location for grooming and he looks amazing every time. I will always recommend this location to all my friends and I will continue to use them when I move out of downtown Calgary.

Enrolled my my three month old puppy, Maple into daycare to get her socialized and looked after. I LOVE that they have the tiny room on Tuesday and Thursdays for small pups that are still a bit shy to the world. Maple always comes home tuckered out. I know she's in good hands and having the best time of her life when she's there.

I have extensively researched and tried out many of the different dog daycares in Calgary, and Dogtopia is the only place that I will ever take my dog Blu. The ladies are always very kind, helpful and accommodating, and it is evident in the way they treat the dogs that they are all dog lovers (some of them even bring their own super sweet and well-trained dogs to work with them). It means so much to me that I am able to drop Blu there and be able to relax and enjoy my day without having to worry about his care or wellbeing. I also LOVE the cameras because if I miss him or am curious about what he is doing, I can just go into the app and check in to see live footage of him having the best time.

As soon as Blu sees the building of Dogtopia he is pulling me to the door and wagging his tale in excitement! When he returns home from Dogtopia he is always happy, super tired and content. I can't say enough how much I appreciate Dogtopia and all of the ladies that take such amazing care of my Blu!

Dogtopia downtown is the best. My doggo went to their puppy pre school classes and she absolutely loved it. It was great for her socialization and I can see her confidence sky rocket every week. In addition, the staff are so kind. We will probably be signing up for normal day care:)

Harper usually spends a couple days a month at Dogtopia downtown and loves it.
The staff are friendly and make sure all dogs are having a good time.
Love being able check in with the webcams.

Reggie loves going to daycare. He built so much confidence there, and always have a blast. The staff there is super friendly and takes great care of him.

This place is amazing! I have nothing but good things to say about the downtown location! Prior to it closing, I took my Daisy to the Blackfoot location (even after I moved to country hills, I trusted and loved the staff THAT much). When they announced it would be closing I was so sad but I have to commend the owners for the way they handled the entire process because I still get to see some of my favorite human faces from the previous location every time I drop Daisy off.
On top of that, all staff are lovely, friendly, kind, and entirely trustworthy! Daisy is always so excited to arrive at Dogtopia on her daycare days and so so tuckered when she comes home. She gets lots of healthy, fun play time with the other pups and love from her favorite humans! I LOVE their structured events too!
I wouldn't trust many places with Daisy's wellbeing but I 100% trust the entire Dogtopia crew!

I have been taking my dog here for a few months already and we Love it!
Lupe is always super excited to come in the morning and super tired by the end of day after playing and having fun (which is awesome).

Also, I love the employee's honesty in this place! A few days ago i accidentally made a double payment and did not notice and the girl in the front desk went out to my car to let me know of this inconvenience and completed a refund! Employees are super professional and caring, the place is super nice and clean, and the location is perfect to leave my dog during my "in-office" days!

I started taking my puppy to Dogtopia Downtown for daycare because I wanted to get him socialized from a young age. At first he was a very shy and timid puppy to any person or dog, but the staff here are so good with the dogs and he has so many dogs to play with, that his personality has done a complete 180 - he been going for nine months now, and if I even mention daycare he can't get in the car fast enough - he gets so excited!

Its well worth the price - he plays all day and comes home exhausted, but so happy. They have different rooms for puppies/younger dogs and large dogs/ older dogs. They also do events each month which is really neat and fun for the dogs like Tiny Tuesdays or bubble day. It's also great that I can check in on him with the webcam throughout the day and actually watch him play and have fun. I would highly recommend this to any new puppy just for the social aspect - you can be at ease knowing your dog is being well taken care of while your at work.

We love Dogtopia! Our dog Murphy loves playing with all the other dogs at daycare and getting snuggles from the staff. I would definitely recommend them for doggie day care. The staff is friendly and take such great care of our boy. We love getting to watch him and all the other pups play on the webcams. Murph will crash for a full day after a day at daycare but then he can’t wait to do it all over again.

There have been a lot of positives to my experiences here, but the only opinion that really matters is my doggo’s. He loves daycare days. At home, we have to call it “The D Word” now since even saying “daycare” will have my dog at the garage door with his tail wagging. Usually him pulling at the leash isn’t a problem.until we come in during the morning and he is pulling to get into the playroom. He’s overjoyed going in and coming home he is passed out from all the playing.

I tried two daycares before this one. Neither did anything wrong that I could see (I watched all first days via webcam for long periods), but my dog wasn’t comfortable until this one. Maybe the other playrooms were too small, maybe there weren’t enough other big dogs to play with.who knows. I do know though, that the first time coming into Dogtopia (Blackfoot location at that time, now at Downtown) was the first time he voluntarily went into the playroom by himself instead of shaking by my side.

There is always someone on the floor supervising playtime, which is awesome; sometimes my dog needs a quick time-out to chill and they recognize this right away. I actually love the 12-2 individual nap time. As I said earlier, he is still exhausted after a day here even with the nap.

I can’t speak to boarding since my dog has only ever been in for the daycare/grooming services. My personal experiences with the staff has been great of course, but all that matters to me is I drop off a heckin excited&happy boy-o and pick up a heckin tired&happy boy-o. With a super active dog and two working parents with conflicting schedules we are so grateful that Dogtopia is so amazing! The staff are some of the most caring people you could hope to take care of your beat friends! Also on the one day of the week that they’re closed my dog sits at the door and cries because she loves it so much. The events (bubble parties, pool parties, breed specific get togethers) and photo days (Halloween costumes, Santa’s lap etc) are one of my favourite things to look forward to every month! Prices are super reasonable and lots of services offered (“spa days” and “sleepovers”)
