Interior is like 10x better than the one at 17th Ave. It has a lot of stuff and staff is pretty friendly. Particularly this one male individual who works the cashier till, he is very friendly and always greets you when you see him.
Show up at opening time for the doors to be locked. Can see people stocking shelves but no one comes to the door or answers the phone. Has happened several times now
It's Dollarama what else can you can say, some stuff is over priced for the quality but when you are in a pinch, any kind of pinch, you will always find something very close to what you need and it may not last long but it will get through whatever it is you needed to go there for and the cocktail mixes are super cheap and they are the same ones for sometimes 3 times the price in any grocery store. Rockstar energy drink is cheap things like chocolate bars and snacks super cheap, I'll give you hint if you use the small pop cans like I do, half price compared to any grocery store. Things that you need that dont have to be a certain quality for whatever reason is what you will find here.
Does anyone work at this Dollarama? I didn’t see any staff there the whole time I was in the store. So much for customer service of any kind. There needs to be someone at the front end to check in with, or at least to say “have a nice day”. Come on!
This particular location has switched to self checkout and I’m not impressed. Not everyone is comfortable using these checkouts and I am definitely one of them.
Was a nice store, now it's trying to change to all self check out. Where's my big savings for doing all the work? Bye bye. I will not set foot in there again. I'll drive to a place that still values service.
Always great for things like condiments.pepper, soy sauce, Franks red hot, mayo, ketchup, etc. Amazing for snacks, fantastic to buy/try things for a while before you upgrade to better versions.
Honestly one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had. I came in for some bagged balloons, their selection was mediocre at best but since this is my local dollar store I tried to make it work. It is not only common decency but actually a bit of a scam not to say up front “would you like to BUY a bag” if you’re going to charge me for a bag. The only time it is appropriate to ask if I would LIKE a bag is when you are not going to charge me for the bag. It’s 5 cents, and not that it was any of their business but I’m on a pretty tight student budget at this point and I’m not going to waste 5 cents on a bag for stuff I can simply carry; it would have been convenient but nowhere near necessary and nowhere near worth paying for it. I was told they could not cancel the bag, I repeated I am not paying for a bag I do not need. They repeated they could not cancel the bag, I cancelled my order on the pin pad machine. They repeated they could not cancel the bag; having worked in retail before I asked why they could not simply cancel the sale. The lady, I’m not sure if she was the manager or not but not the one I was originally being served very pleasantly by, started to get aggressive with me saying there was no possibility whatsoever they could cancel the order and I am FORCED to pay for the bag. I simply repeat I am not paying for a bag I do not need and was not informed of the cost of, and she has the AUDACITY to say to me very condescendingly “what, you can’t afford a 5 cent bag? ”. This is where I lost my patience. I politely stared at her and said, “not that it is any of your business, but I’m a student on a very tight budget, and I am not paying for your bag”. So what is their solution? This second lady instructs the cashier to simply give me a dime! Somehow I have made 5 cents from this horrible experience and yet that was easier than simply cancelling the bag or re-doing the order in the first place? Makes no sense to me whatsoever. So I did end up paying for the bag on my credit card and now have a dime weighing down my pocket instead of not crediting my account 5 cents for a bag I didn’t even walk away with. Honestly the worst service I’ve ever received while shopping. It is none of your freaking business whether or not I can afford a 5 cent bag if I say I do not want and will not pay for a 5 cent bag, isn’t it your job to simply respect that? Or at the very least inform me you’re going to charge me for a bag in which case this whole thing could have been avoided because I never would have said yes? Absolutely ridiculous. Even though this is my local store I refuse to ever give that horribly rude woman any more of my business.
Hands down the WORST Dollarama I have been to. There is always a line up. It is messy and disorganized. The staff is not friendly and has no sense of customer service.
